Can't connect to Huawei ME906S at logon screen windows 7 using Cisco Start Before logon

Q: Can't connect to Huawei ME906S at logon screen windows 7 using Cisco Start Before logon

Hi At my company we have Lenovo L460 with windows 7 and Cisco anyconnect 4.3 - we have a sim card with 4G data connection to a service provider(Telenor). When I have logon screen for windows 7, I can see with FN+F8 that the wireless WAN is "on", but when I try to connect/logon with the cisco anyconnect "start before logon" module the cisco say that it can't see any internet connection. And I tried to wait for 3-4 minutes so all services where running, but no connection.... If I uses the Wifi connection then it just goes smooth... If I logon to windows 7 and then start the mobile data connection at logon to cisco anyconnect there is NO problem.. So are there somebody who can say that:1. Huawei does not support cisco anyconnect SBL?2. Lenovo does not allow you to start a mobile connection before you logon windows ?3. Or something? A lot of thanks in advance!!!!!!!! Regards niels

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi everyone,
I am so glad to have found this forum and to see that others in the past with similar problems have had them resolved, looking forward to nutting this one out
ISSUE
The computer is a win XP with RAID that freezes the mouse and the keyboard if a mouse or keyboard button is touched at the logon screen.
The mouse works fine until a button is pressed, you can even click on a user but are unable to enter a password due to the keyboard and mouse freezing at this moment.
NOTE: originally happened with a USB keyboard and USB mouse, using PS2 keyboard and mouse.
BACKGROUND
I am writing about my fathers old computer which suddenly started “freezing up” at the logon screen, after he wasted weeks trying to get it to work he decided that it was a hardware issue and bought himself a new computer.
Since then I have proved that there was no hardware error by putting an extra HDD in and installing Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
Everything functions fine under Ubuntu and the files are able to be accessed on the RAID.
DESIRED OUTCOME
While i can access and copy files as needed from the RAID i would like to return access to the win XP install and let my father use it again.
STEPS TAKEN SO FAR
I first attempted to run Live rescue CD's but they could not find the RAID drive.
- Bit Defender Rescue CD – Saw the ubuntu drive, no RAID
- Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 – Didn't see any HDD's.
So I ran the following AV programs from ubuntu 12.04 LTS:

So you are able to run the machine  using PS2 keyboard and mouse.

Step 1:

Download and install LogonFix

Click the Highlighted button.

When prompted select yes.
Allow the program to reboot your machine as well when prompted.

Step 2:

Download drivecleanup.zip to your desktop.
CLICK HERE to determine whether you're running 32-bit or 64-bit for Windows.
Once the determination has been made open either the 32-bit or 64-bit folder.
Right Click the .exe on the inside of the folder and run as admin.
A command prompt window will open telling you what has been removed upon completion.
Note: All usb devices must be removed from your machine during this step, except your keyboard and mouse of course.

Step 3:

Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop.
Close any open windows
Double click the TFC icon to run the program. (Vista/7/8 Users, Right Click and select Run as Admin)
TFC will close all open programs itself in order to run
Click the Start button to begin the process
Allow TFC to run uninterrupted
Once its finished it should automatically reboot your machine, if it doesn't, manually reboot to ensure a complete clean.

Hello,  I am having an issue with a newly installed Huawei ME906s (FRU 00JT491) on my t460. The first two times I turned on the t460, it booted normally and Windows recognized the new WWAN card and was able to connect to LTE network. However, I am getting the 1802 BIOS error now. According to Huawei ME906s, the WWAN should be whitelisted for my t460.  I am currently on BIOS 1.13 Any ideas why it would work the first two times and then refuse to boot after?  Thank you in advance.

I have upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10. During the procedure a screen showed that Dell Access had to be removed before Windows 10 could be installed.
It was removed, and everything else went smoothly.
Now during logon, at the login screen, the system will take a while to initialize, and say "Failure to initialize". Luckily I am able to login using a password.
I want to use the fingerprint reader to login. Dell says that this system have no issues with upgrading to Windows 10, but not now. So how can I solve this problem?
I will like to do either the following:
1. Get the fingerprint reader working.
2. If it cannot work, I want the logon screen to stop trying to initialize and just use password to logon.

Also, I am getting 2-3 nos of the same user on the login screen. There is only 1 user on this computer but I see mostly 2 but sometimes 3 of the same on the lower left of the logon screen. I also want to remove the extras. Not an issue, but I think it may be related to the above as well.

Thanks.

Vanilla Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop running Windows Vista. It has never had a login account or password protection, and is only used in single user mode.

Yesterday, start-ups fine, no password. Today, I'm presented with the user logon widow prompting me for a password, and cannot logon to Vista!

No-one has meddled with the laptop. Don't know if SP1 was automatically downloaded
and installed - whatever the factory defaults were from Dell. I've not seen any references to this kind of issue on Vista, but have heard about a similar thing with NT.

Any suggestions how this could have happened?

Yes - I know I can reset passwords using the NT Password Editor (http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/).

We are trying to enable SSO with Smart Cards for Windows 7 and eventually 10. During logon users can see up to six certificates available for logon. This is going to cause confusion for the users. Selecting only the correct certificate will allow the user
successful SSO. It appears that this MAY be the certificate with the Enhanced Key Usage (EKU) that contains 'Smart Card Logon (1.3.6.1.4.1.311.20.2.2)' and has the text under the box where you enter your PIN that says 'Windows will try to connect to the network'
I found an article, below, that gives more options for certificates but these don't seem to offer what I'm looking for.

I have viewed this site for a long time, but this is the first time I needed to post a problem. I do not know if my problem belongs in the OS forum or the Networking forum but hear it is!

I am setting up a new Dell PC with Windows XP Home Edition with 256 megs of memory. I need to manually log onto a Novell network and automatically logon to Windows XP Home Edition. In other words, I do not want the windows logon screen to appear after I log onto Novell.

I have tried Microsoft's article Q315231 "How to Enable Automatic Logon in Windows". The auto logon to windows works, however, it seems to disable the Novell logon screen. When I boot up the pc no logon window appears (Novell or otherwise). I can however, manually log into Novell after XP is loaded.

I need to allow different Novell users to log in to one Windows XP profile. Is this possible? My network admin and I have not been able to figure this out.

I will not be able to test any suggestions until Monday, but I can supply additional information to any post this weekend.

Thank you in advance for everyone's efforts.

A:xp won't start (can't get past logon screen)

Taking it literally, you have a "recovery" CD and not a Windows XP CD?

These vary in nature, some allow a repair, some only allow a full recovery (which will lose all your data). Unfortunately we cannot tell what type you have, only you can tell.

If you can do a repair (a reinstall "over the top" of the existing Windows) thats what you want. Otherwise put your hard drive into another XP machine (changing the drive to a slave with the jumper settings) and save your critical data, then reinstall after resetting the jumpers and refitting the drive to your PC.

Have you not got your critical data regularly backed up though?
Such events as this, including drive failures, are not at all uncommon (unfortunately). Hard drives are only "temporary storage" at the best of times.

Hi there
The method of switching to a NEW user seems CRAZY in W8 -- there's no option on the power off button (Login as new user) -- you have to go into the START screen , click on your user icon at the top right of the screen and then choose sign out --- it's mad !!!!
Have I missed something or is there a keyboard short cut to logout and login as a new user.

A few years back I changed the name of my Dell D830 laptop from "pob laptop" to "D830-laptop". Everything was hunky dory (old expression ) until I decided to create a new user account and gave it admin privileges. I then changed the privileges on the D830-laptop account to standard user.
Now, when I boot up the laptop the welcome screen shows "pob laptop" and wrong password error. I then have to switch users every time just to get into the laptop. I have searched everywhere for this name "pob laptop" but can't find it at all. I've searched the registry user profilelist and nothing comes up with that name. I'm pretty sure that when I changed the name I went through all pertinent files, but evidently I must have missed an important file to have it resurface years later.  I'm really stumped. Any suggestions on how to remove this erroneous user account? I still want to be able to choose between standard user and admin user from time to time, so I don't want to remove the logon screen per se.

Yesterday I started having problems with my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit desktop machine. Here's the sequence of events I would encounter:

I would start the computer, logon normally, and about 3 minutes after I logged on my video would go black, monitor lights blinking like there was no signal, but the power to the system was still running. Each time I rebooted into normal Windows boot, the system would result in the same error.

I tried re-seating all my components to no avail. I also tried unhooking one component at a time, to no avail.

I started trying to diagnose the issue. Event Viewer logs provided nothing except for some generic error codes which I reviewed on EventID.net. I found that booting into Safe Mode worked fine. I found that doing a Clean Boot would result in the error. I found that doing a selective startup with Windows Services only would result in an error. I found that booting with Diagnostic Services only would result in an error.

I tried using a Windows 7 repair disc to repair my install and that didn't work. When I tried to do a full re-install over my existing install, my computer wouldn't stay on long enough for everything to finish.

Finally at 9:30pm last night the system stayed on with a normal windows boot with all services running (with the cd-rom unplugged; I don't think this actually had any impact) for a few hours before I went to sleep. I left the computer on overnight to see if it would last.

This morning when I woke up at... Read more

Since the error did not occur in SafeMode where Win uses a generic low-res 600x800 video driver, but occurred in Clean Boot mode, where your hi-res installed video driver is used, I would guess the problem is a corrupted video/graphics driver. You might try looking for the latest vid driver from the manufacturer website, of your particular machine.

Single Software to modify all system icons, Start orb, Logon screen

First of all, I got the information from our new member Pepito of this software. I was finding developer for past few months to develop some software like this, here and in other places, unfortunately the right combination didnt took place.

This software is something very close to my dreamed software (I had plan to add more options though); unfortunately its only available in French Language. So, my tutorial writing mind thought to write a small guide to help other users to use it effectively.

If you have this killer software, there is no need to use separate programs for changing logon Screen, logon button, Start orb and all icons; including system icons, disk icons, program association icons etc.

So, first you need to download, right? Click here to download the installer file(another page will open and the download prompt will come). Download here (Direct download).

After you have completed installation (by guessing left key is OK and right should be Cancel); run the program as Admin. You will get a prompt on every run to make a restore point :

Click Oui to make a restore point or Non to dismiss it and proceed, this window will come:

This the main interface of the program. You can see three options: "My 7 Logon", "My 7 Orb" and "My 7 Icon". I am going to detail one by one.

Hello all,

This is my first ever post, usually with a bit of searching I can find the answers to most computer related issues I have, but no matter how hard I look I cannot find the answer I need to solve this rather annoying problem.

So here is the low down, I have my desktop PC running Windows 7 Ultimate. I also have a cheap old Asus netbook running Windows XP home edition SP3 (not much on it so it runs ok).

I am trying to share files between them so my Mrs can access the music on my PC.
So far I have been able to access the shared files folder from my netbook on my PC. I can also detect the PC under the Workgroup tab of 'My Network Places' on the netbook.

However whenever I double click on the 'Richyv-pc' icon in the Workgroup folder is comes up with an error message that states:

"\\Richyv-pc is not accessible. You might not have perrmission to use this network resource. Contract the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer."

I have granted full share access to all the wanted files from my PC with access to 'Everyone' with read/write control.

I have tried many different things from many different forums but none have fixed this problem. Im sure Im missing something obvious but I just cant see it. My PC is part of a homegroup because of my work laptop that I bring home from time to time but I dont think this is caus... Read more

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm having a problem with remembering how to add/enable a program that will start at Windows Logon. I don't seem to be having much luck with various searches. Perhaps I'm not using the right search terms/parameters.

Could someone kindly enlighten me as to how to do this, or provide a link to a source that explains how to accomplish this (in simple terms this aged, non-techie person [me]can understand)?

Thank you for your time and any help!

Hie guys, Iwas looking on some postas with regard to this topic and tried to implement the suggestions.
I followed the suggestion below

To resolve this problem: on the remote computer, select Administrative Tools>Local Security Settings>Local Policies>User Rights Assignment, right-click on Access this computer from the network>Properties>Add Users or Groups, add everyone or any users you want to be able to access the computer from the network.

This fixed the problem on the interim and I could access my file shares and printers. However when I restart the machine or even log off nad log on again, the prblem resurfaces and all the user accounts Iand groups i wolud have added to Administrative Tools>Local Security Settings>Local Policies>User Rights Assignment, right-click on Access this computer from the network> will be removed and the field empty. hence I suspect spam the disallow remote access by editing these entries .

Any ideas on how this can be resolved would be appreciated

I have a Gateway MX6920 that had Windows XP preinstalled on it, I formatted and installed Windows 7. it only has the basic Windows 7 programs on it +Firefox, Google Chrome, TeamViewer, & an Anti-virus, but I have an ongoing issue where the computer completely freezes. the mouse doesn't work, no programs open, and I cannot bring up the task manager. if I press ctrl+alt+del it will still be frozen for about 5 more minutes, then give me the following message the "logon process was unable to display security and logon options when ctrl+alt+delete was pressed" and then just keeps being frozen until I cold boot shut down.

I scanned for viruses, ran sfc /scannow, with several programs but they all report clean

I am at a loss and this is a daily issue

Googling this error message brings up limited but unresolved issues

A:the logon process was unable to display security and logon options whe

according to the following link:

Failure to display security and shut down options. The logon process - Microsoft Community

it looks like the windows winsock needs to be reset. Hopefully doing that will solve the issue: to do that; do the following:

open a elevated command prompt(click start, programs, accessories, then right click on command prompt and select run as administrator) type netsh winsock reset hopefully that will help. If not that then in the same command prompt; type the following: netsh winsock reset

try one of the above commands and see if that helps to resolve the issue.
netsh winsock reset

I have two win xp sp2 pcs. Both of them are in the same workgroup. I can ping each one from the other. I can access the shared folders of one pc from the other. But the reverse is not true. I cannot access shared folders of the other machine.
I am attaching the error message here.

A:logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type

After going through a similar thread I installed windows resource toolkit and entered the command mentioned in that thread. But now I am getting Access Is Denied instead of logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type.

A:how to start a service automatically on windows 7 Logoff then Logon

Is it set to automatic startup in the Services list?

Go to Start panel and type "services", you should see it pop up in the search results. Make sure your service startup type is either set to "Automatic" or "Automatic (Delayed)" and it should work fine.

Prior to purchasing a new notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium x64, I used a notebook with Windows XP Professional. I really liked the Windows XP Pro logon box (see attached image).

Is there a similar logon screen available should I upgrade to Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate?

A:Windows 7 Logon Screen/XP Pro?

There's no way you can get the xp logon screen to work with windows 7. But you can change the background logon screen image in 7. Otherwise if you like the xp logon screen, then stick with xp.

Okay so I wanted to change my logon screen and I downloaded this program called Logon Loader. I changed my logon screen then I accidently deleted the logon screen file that I used to replace the default one. And now whenever I start up windows it says the computer is locked and tells me to enter a password. Also the logon screen is just a black background with the logon box that has a name and a password in it.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

A friend of mine has "lost" the original logon screen (where I had set him up three users) so he could simply click on a user, enter the password and away he (or his family) could go ... now all he has is the oh-so-familiar (to me) and not so user-friendly [Ctrl][Alt] logon prompt. Is there any way to get that original logon screen back?

Thanks

A:Logon Screen (Windows XP/SP 1)

Found this on the net once I knew what to look for:

Control Panel/Users/Change the Way Users Logon/Welcome Screen or...

Start/Run/Regedit Key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Value Name: LogonType
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = Classic Mode, 1 = Welcome Screen)

Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, called 'LogonType' and edit the value according to the settings below. Reboot.

In Windows XP (Professional), how can one alter the logon screen? Originally I would boot up XP and the logon screen would automatically select my username (the only user on the logon screen) so I could immediately start typing. I don't know what changed, but now I have to manually click on my username and start typing. There is still only one user and I am just far too lazy to always click on it or tab into it to start typing my password (plus I would like to figure this out). Thank you for any help!

I recently reinstalled XP from a restore disk. All went well and I thought it would be good to password protect my computer. I set up my name and a password in the Control Panel User Accounts.
Then I realized that, since I was the only one using this computer, signing-in was a pain, especially with update restarts, etc.
I like to turn the computer on and have use of my desktop without any other steps.
I disabled the password for my account, but, now when I start the computer I end-up on a screen where I have to select my name (the only name on the screen) and the boot continues to the desktop.
How do I bypass this logon page?

A:Windows Logon Screen

start/run, type control userpasswords2 and click OK, clear the box 'Users must enter user name ...' and click OK, now enter the user name you wish to logon automatically and the password, done.
