I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

The Bluetooth driver that is supplied from support.lenovo.com does not enable Bluetooth on the IdeaCentre A720. After installing the driver, there are no bluetooth adapters listed in the Device Manager, the software never popualtes the tasktray. I've attempted using the drivers direct from Broadcom's website, which appear to be the same driver. Neither enable bluetooth on an IdeaCentre A720. This worked previously on Windows 8.0, prior to my Windows 8.1 upgrade. Please update me on a fix or refreshed driver to properly enable bluetooth.

Hi, I'm new here...

I've just finshed a course in video post production and I am looking for work, a process that involves creating showreel, burning it to DVD, and mailing it off to prospective employers.

However it is Christmas/New Year and I don't about your country but in my country (New Zealand) almost everything shuts down for a fortnight while everybody goes to the beach. Which wouldn't be too bad because presumedly all my prospective employers are at the beach as well. Except there's a job with a local TV company that I really want to apply for where applications are due on the 8th...

Except my computer died on the 27th and to cut a long story short I ended up buying an ex lease system unit with a more modern motherboard and CPU than my old one, the same amount of ram and a much nicer video card. I got the store to transfer my harddrive, modem, and DVD burner across. The only thing I didn't like about the computer was that it had Windows XP Home installed on it instead of XP Pro.

I picked up the computer late on Friday afternoon set it up, plugged in the speakers, mouse etc only to discover that while the computer obviously has the hardware to produce sound it doesn't think it has a sound card. I discovered this 5 minute after the store closed for the weekend. Because it is New Year the store won't reopen until the 3rd.

None of my video editing/DVD authoring software will work without sound. Examining the computer, it l... Read more

SO my problem is that a few of my games crash. I believe it is my multimedia video controller. I don't have a driver installed for it. I updated my video card driver and that didn't help. i tried 'Unknown device Identifier' but when i clicked on 'find driver' it turned up a blank screen.

A:No driver for my multimedia video controller

If you have a 'Well known' pc, with the parts it was built with new, you might get the driver form the makers site, eg HP or Dell. If It is a home built pc or has been modified, then you can find out the name and version of a missing driver by downloading the free version of a program at; www.drivereasy.com Install it and scan your pc. Look at the list, green is 'ok', red is 'missing'. You can download and install the drivers from there, BUT it will be slow. So, write down the information, the go over to the makers site, enter the driver details there, and download. If it's video playback that is a problem or fails, then install this, http://www.mediacodec.org/

You can find the drivers on the manufacturer website for OEM. (dell,hp,gateway, etc)

You can download the drivers from the motherboard manufacturer website if custom built.

I recently had to re-install the OS on my laptop using the disc supplied by the manufacturer (Gateway). When I was done and had everything working I had no audio from the laptop. I could burn a CD and play it on my stereo and it would work fine, but in my laptop....no audio. I checked the device manager and found a yellow triangle next to the "Multimedia Audio Controller" and under properties..."No Driver Present". I have tried the Gateway download site for audio drivers and there is only one available and I already have that one. When I download it my computer says "file already exists..overwrite?". I have overwritten it twice just to make sure it isn't a bad file but it still doesn't work. This is a Gateway MX7120 Laptop with a Mob ile AMD Athlon 64, 3400+, running Windows XP Media Center Edition, Version 2002 W/SP3. Motherboard is Gateway version 65.08.00, Ser. # V634M0500701XF500X and I think the controller is Realtek ATI SB400 AC'97 Audio Controller. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Missing driver for multimedia video controller

1) Do you know the make/model of your motherboard? That's not in your system specs
2) Multimedia Audio Controller is usually the onboard audio card. But your specs says you have Hi Def audio onboard (MAC is AC97 audio). It MAY be your Creative Audio. Don't know at this point

You can check the Creative Website for drivers. If you don't see your model listed, be sure to look for an option about including no longer supported models

If still need be you can
List any Problem Devices

Make sure devices are connected and powered on
Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
On the other hand, if no devices are listed, tell me so
Generate and attach a DirectX report

Click Start->Run, enter dxdiag and click OK
===> If you?re running 32 bit Windows, dxdiag will launch on its own
===> If you?re running 64 bit Windows, you?ll see 64-bit DxDiag. Click it to launch the 64-bit version of dxdiag
Notice progress in lower left window corner
When done, click Save Information button and save to your Desktop
In TechSpot window, use the paper clip icon to attach the report. (If you don't see icon you may need to first click Go Advanced)

Sorry this is so long, but i put all the info needed in order for someone to help me properly, thanks to anyone who bothers to read this and tries to help. Greatly appreciated.

hey guys, I formatted my C: just a couple of days ago and re-insalled windows xp. now everything seems to be working perfectly, drivers work fine for everything, except for my sound.

Now i went to Device Manager and it had a yellow question mark by "Other Devices" and if opened that up, it had "Multimedia Audio Controller" and also had a yellow question mark by that. I tried right clicking and going to "update driver" but the internet could not find the right driver.

So, i found a program called "Aida32" which tells you all the information about your hardware. Well anyway, after i installed that, under the "Multimedia" bit about my PC it said "SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Gigabyte) Type: PCI". So i searched that in google and found the exact driver that i need, well i'm pretty sure it was the one i needed. But when i wen to install it, everything went fine, until the the end of the installation when a error message came up saying "Driver not found! Please restart your computer and try again". So i tried that, but it didn't work.

Therefore, i need huge help from someone who knows what there talking about. Thanks ALOT for anyone who helps. Seriously. thanks.

A:Multimedia Audio Controller - Driver Problem

If AIDA doesn't list the Board, try this: http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php

A:Multimedia Audio Controller Driver Issue

What kind of soundcard was it?

If you know what brand it is, then go to your add/remove programs and uninstall any associated drivers.

If thers nothing in add/remove progs, get a program called DriverCleanerPro, google it, its free
If your soundcard was a Creative, then scroll down to creative and clean out the drivers. If it was turtle, scroll down to turtle. and so on..

IF all else fails, go to your bios and disable Sound somehow

A:problem with multimedia sound controller driver

Hi, and welcome to TSF.

Thanks for the comprehensive system specs, most don't even think to post any, but unfortunately, this doesn't tell us anything about the status of your drivers.

Click start >> right click my computer, >> select manage, >> click device manager in the left pane and in the list displayed in the right pane tell me if you see any exclamation marks or yellow question marks.

Hi

I recently formatted my computer's hard drive and lost the multimedia audio controller device driver. Can anyone tell me where to download it from. I need it urgently. Plse help!

You can download EVEREST Ultimate Edition to find out lots of things about your computer specs.

If your computer is a brand name like Dell or HP or other, you can just post the make and model number.
You will also need to provide your Operating System (Xp or Vista)

Once you supply as much information on your specs as you can, I can then most likely help you with a driver download link for your sound driver.

Please reply back with your system specs.

If it happens that you have no sound on your PC and you see that yellow thing next to your*multimedia audio controller driver*settings, then the first thing you should do is to uninstall anything that you???ve installed lately that might be related to your sound drivers. Another thing ??? check whether this problem started after an automatic Windows update, if so, revert your latest Windows update and see which changes were related to your sound driver and disable them, then update your Windows again.

This is entirely my own fault - let me say that straight up.
I'm 65, fairly recently widowed from the most wonderful husband any woman ever had, who was a self-taught computer whizz, and who managed out two PCs without problem. He has left behind a half-wit, I regret to say, who does unbelievably stupid things, frequently.
The PCs are on WinXP, before I forget to tell you.
I was clearing out software I never used, and I thought one of the things I removed was one of them. It wasn't. It appears to've been the software needed to run all audio on my PC.
Will anyone who's feeling truly kind, and is able not to scream with rage at what I've done, please advise me how to replace the software?

I am having a few issues and I'm not even sure that they're related. Just to let you know, I am not super computer smart and I don't always understand the technical language. So sometimes I need things further explained than other more computer savvy people. And I am about to rip my eyeballs out with these stupid problems!

First issue is that my DVD RW drive is not reading DVD discs (movies or games on DVD). The icon of the DVD does not appear under My Computer and if you click on it to access the drive, it freezes until you eject the DVD. It reads and plays audio CDs fine. This is weird to me and I have no idea why it's doing this. I have updated the drivers and firmware from Sony's site. My DVD drive is a "SONY DVD RW DW-U12A". My CD drive works fine with both music CDs and games.

My other issue is that when I go to my Device Manager, there is a black exclamation point on a yellow circle next to "Multimedia Video Controller" which is under the Other Devices section marked with a large yellow question mark. When I click properties, it says that there are no drivers installed. When I try to reinstall or update the driver, none can be found. I have a Sony Vaio Desktop PCV-RZ34G. There are a list of available downloadable drivers at their official site for my model (esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=PCVRZ34G). I downloaded and installed the "Original - nVidiaŽ Graphics Controller Driver" which did nothing. I ... Read more

Is what it says in the MSINFO32. I got the device from a computer my friend had. I thought Windows Driver Detector could fix it for me, but was unable to. I've been having a lot of difficulty try to find drivers to use this. Any help would be fantastic. Please tell me if you need more information.
