Java Virtual Machine Launcher unable to access sysboot248626044703431899

Q: Java Virtual Machine Launcher unable to access sysboot248626044703431899

Hi, Recently my antivirus found numerous trojans in C:/users/name/Temp/Local Folder, and seeing this I manually deleted all of the non-folders and non-.xml files in the Local Folder. Ever since then I kept on getting an error message on startup: "JAVA virtual machine launcherUnable to access .jar file sysboot2486260447034318996.jar" So I googled how to remove this error and came upon this site and the moderator nasdaq, who help resolve a similar problem with another user. Then I follow the steps on that post:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/477507/eveytime-i-boot-up-my-computer-i-get-an-error-unable-to-access-jarfile-igfxperf-after-a-trojan/ And I got to the point about using ComboFix, and that is where I stopped since from this step onwards, it is advised to use ComboFIx only under supervision. So here's what I got from DDS (Attached to this Post). Please help me resolve this problem. N.B. I also tried reinstalling Java which didn't work.DDS (Ver_2012-11-20.01) - NTFS_AMD64Internet Explorer: 9.0.8112.16464 BrowserJavaVersion: 10.45.2Run by Simpson at 7:44:12 on 2013-11-18Microsoft I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I can't get rid of this popup every time I open my pc.
I have tried everything.
Here's the error :

Java Virtual Machine Launcher
Error : could not open 'C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_21\lib\amd64\jvm.cfg

There is no amd64 folder in the jdk1.6.0_21

Thank you.

A:Java Virtual Machine Launcher error

I don't actually know the answer to your problem, but there may be a clue in the error message where it refers to ' jdk1.6.0_21\lib\amd64\jvm.cfg' .

JDK refers to the Java Developers Kit, which is only needed if you intend to develop your own java applications or applets (see the explanation on the Sun download page;http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html). If you aren't a developer you probably have the wrong type of Java installed which is looking for a component you don't have.

As the JDK also includes the JRE that end users need, you probably don't need to do anything until you upgrade to the next JRE version when the next security scare turns up! If the popup is too irritating, I suppose you could uninstall the JDK and replace it with the JRE (although there are a few threads around here where people are having problems with Java uninstall and reinstalls).

As a matter of interest, do you by any chance have an AMD 64 bit processor, since that is the other thing the error message appears to mention?

When my Dell boots up, I get the pop up window titled "Java Virtual Machine Launcher" with the big red "X" in it that has a "OK" button to continue. The message says "Could not find the main class. Program will exit.

I am running XP and everything else seems to be running OK.

This is nothing critical but more of annoyance. What do I need to do to get rid of this message?

Hi, it looks like some time ago my computer got infected. I tried to delete the virus manually, so I erased a file called servidorcito.jar (that's Spanish for "little server"). After that, the following dialog box keeps popping up every minute or so. If I don't dismiss it, it just sits there and a new one does NOT pop up.

Java Virtual Machine Launcher
Error: Unable to access jarfile c:\Users\RRP\AppData\Roaming\Frutas\servidorcito.jar
(OK button)

Things I've tried:
Verified that .jar files are associated to javaw.exe
Checked startup items for calls to javaw.exe (found none)
Looked in registry for the string "servidorcito.jar" or suspicious uses of javaw.exe (found nothing)
Scanned whole computer with AVG free (found nothing)
Checked HiJackThis log for any obviously related items (found nothing)

The problem does not appear when only Java 32-bit is installed, it only appears when I install Java 64-bit. Uninstalling Java 64-bit makes it go away.

I've attached a picture of the dialog box and the DDS attach.log.

Here's dds.log:

Unable to start the application-the Java Virtual Machine cannot be loaded.

Well thats the error I get. I was trying to use my HP all in one to scan (Which I don't do but once in a blue moon) and I can't get it to work. It was working but I downloaded Java from Sun Micro , and now I get this message. I tried to uninstall the Java to see if that would work but it didn't any thoughts?? I mean I could totally wipe my system and start over which I do occasionally just for giggles and grins but I would like to see if I can fix this.

BTW I'm using XP SP2 with most every update except IE 7

All help is greatly appreciated.

I will let you know I did google the error message and got something about the whole Microsoft issue with Java Lawsuit blah blah blah. Also I found some threads of what other people have done to try and fix this issue, but I don't have any chickens handy and I can't wait until the moon is in the seventh hour of the seventh day of the seventh... you get what I'm saying.

Once again all help is greatly appreciated.

I've tried hosting a server for an indie computer game called Minecraft using the following .jar file
http://minecraft.net/download/minecr...=1284392596463
and while it works, I've been unable to allocate more than 1 gig of memory to the program.

Running the .jar file by itself leaves a very small amount of memory, which is tracked on the server window as "Memory use: # mb (% free)

The support forum for the game suggests using a .bat file with the following line:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar

This does increase the amount of memory, and while I should be able to increase the "1024" values to use even more, this is where I run into problems. Using "2048" or any other value in this .bat line produces an error stating:
"Unable to run virtual Java machine"

I've asked about this on the game's forum, and the only response I've gotten was from other Vista 64 bit users that have the same problem and are unable to solve it. Any thoughts?

I'll keep it short. I have tried to access POGO as I have before. Now I'm getting an error message that the game I wanted to load will not because of an Error! You need Java to do this and I have loaded the latest Java from Oracle at least 10 times. Same error. I made sure all Java Icons are enabled through out my system. I am using Vista with IE 8. I used POGO troubling shooting to find any issues. The test for Java and the POPUP blocked tests come back fine and it says to enjoy my game, but when I try again the game fails to come up and I again get the error message.

I tried to contact HP of course I'm out of coverage. I tried to go online to chat with HP, as I found that they will help but, now the help line is also having problems with Java. They do not see it...
I get the message "No Java Support. Please install java virtual machine". I tried to reinstall Java again and it tells me that I'm up to date and no installation is needed.

I have been working on this problem for 2 weeks.... I'm retired and can not afford to pay someone...

Please help if you can Please.... Thanks

I just installed windows 8.1 pro on an MSI z97 pc mate motherboard with I5 3.3 ghz processor, 16 gb ddr3 1600 MHz ram, with embedded realtek pcie gbe NIC. I checked and found that hardware virtualization is enabled by default in the BIOS.

I tried to set up a virtual switch using the latest bios and drivers from MSI. I created a virtual switch choosing the external option and the share with host OS option. I then connected to the VM. No network connectivity on VM but host still worked.

I then used autopatcher to update windows 8.1 on the vm. I removed and reinstalled the virtual switch choosing external option and share with host OS option. Same conditions occurred.
And then I installed the latest NIC driver. Same problem - media disconnected.

I tried this process with the latest driver from the realtek website which was a couple years more up to date. I had such high hopes! Same problem.

I then used msconfig to prevent all non-Microsoft services from starting and rebooted. I removed and recreated the switch and I was still hoping for success. Same exact conditions occurred.

These are the conditions that occur whenever an external switch with host os sharing enabled is installed in between all of these troubleshooting steps. It looks exactly the same every time...
The host machine can still access the network but it does so through the virtual switch. Ipconfig /all on the host reveals the following...

I've visited some sites recently that require "java virtual machine." I don't have it and can't get it....or can I?

A:Java Virtual Machine?

The latest version is available on the Microsoft Updates site as a critical update. Or you can get the older, vulnerable version here:

http://www.krm.com/techsupport/tech-downloads_mvm.html

You may also install Sun's Java Plugin which generally works just as well.

How do i fix this?

A:Java Virtual Machine

the simple solution is to reinstall java. this at least would let you know quickly, if it is a java issue, or an issue with windows. since this is a virus related issue, I would also suggest you get back to the expert that was helping you or repost on this matter (describing the virus problem) in the malware forums. They are permitted and certified via training programs to help you look deeper and see if something was missed. I might even do this before messing with java at all, but that is up to you.

I was wondering what a Java Virtual Machine was. Sometimes when I visit a certain website it says that I can't view it because It don't have this machine. It says to download now when I do it directs me to Microsoft. I can't seem to find a download for it anywhere. What does it mean and where can I find it?

For all intents and purposes, the JVM is a program that processes java code. You can find it at http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp

Hope this helps,

I transferred via the "wizard" my files and settings in XP to my new computer. I could not open some of my sites that required Java. One of the site said it would download Microsoft Virtual Machine. I pressed download, and was taken to the Windows home page, which said Windows does not support downloading of VM anymore, and that I could check the update site.

Which, of course, did not say I needed any updates. I checked the updates I put in, and saw nothing of Microsoft VM.

On my old machine, in Tools-Advanced, there is a whole Java section. In my new machine, there is no Java section.

Anyone know how I can get Microsoft VM or Java that works like it? It is no longer available on Microsoft's site as a download for xp.

Hi, and welcome to BleepingComputer.Have you checked that you have the latest version of Java installed? I think it is 6 Update 20 at the moment. It is important that this is kept up to date. The newer versions will overwrite older ones but you can check in ADD/REMOVE to see if there are any to uninstall.http://java.com/en/Cheers

Go to SunMicrosystems website and install theirs. As far as I know, no one has had any problems with it.

HI,
Can some provide a little info please regarding Java VM?

What I would like to know is in the "Internet option"/Settings/Advanced..with regards to the 3 tick boxes against Java VM are they actually linked to the installation itself?

What I mean is .. I beleive Virtual Machine would have to be physically downloaded onto PC, and if say I remove all the "ticks" would I stop VM from being actioned ( and vice versa ?)
I hope I have expalined myself correctly!!

Thanks..

Appreciate some assistance.

Have a friend who likes to view the Chicago Sun-Times sports section for hoop scores, etc. He has a shortcut on his desktop to do so.

Every time he goes to the website, an 'Install on Demand' prompt shows up. He gets the message: To display this page correctly you need to download and install the following: Java Virtual Machine. The website keeps asking for the most recent version of the Microsoft Virtual Machine.

The PC was bought brand new about 6 weeks ago. It is running Windows XP Home. You would thing the latest version of the Microsoft Virtual Machine would already be installed.

Downloading the Microsoft VM is always an option, but he does not get the prompt on any other websites, only on the one for the Chicago Sun-Times????

Any thoughts?

You can't get M$ java VM any more the court order stopped it

http://www.microsoft.com/java/

IE doesn't know anbout the court order and wants a java vm to display java web content. The MS download page has been removed

alternative is

Sun JAva from
http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html

If you really want the M$ version with all it's security holes then a list of download sites v=can be found here

I am having problems getting Java virtual machine installed on my work computer. The computer is PC (P III at 450 with 128 megs of RAM), running Windows 98 and using IE 6.
At several web sites, I click on certain links and I get a message that I need to install "Java virtual machine." I go through the whole process of downloading the software, installing it, restarting the computer. But, the next time I try to click on the link that I wanted, I again get the message to install JVM. I have done this about four times now, and I'm stumped.
In the IE 6 "Advanced" tab, I have all the Java elements enabled. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I recently backed up my files and reformatted my hard drive so I could install an original copy of XP Home in place of a copy of XP Pro that I had on loan from a friend. Since installing XP Home and restoring some of my old files I have found I cannot gain access to my "online banking" as I don't have a working copy of Java VM. I tried downloading a copy of Java VM via my bank's troubleshooting site but it won't load as it says I don't have an old copy of Java VM to load over. How do I fix this problem, do I try for a copy of Java VM from "download.com" or is there another fix?

Hello everyone,

I am having a problem with XP. I clean installed and everything went fine. When I go to a site to play an online game, my system comes up with an error and/or reboots. The error says I don't have enough Ram and something about an error with JAVA. I have 512 ram right now. I took that out and put in my 256 chip to see if maybe the ram is bad and it looks as if both are fine. So I tried again and as it loads the game, poof, it auto reboots.

I never had this problem with ME.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to install Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (not the Sun version, I need the old Microsoft version). I've downloaded the appropriate file, (msjavx86.exe) to my hard drive, which is readily available on plenty of websites. When I double click on the file, it just brings up a black screen for a quick second, and that's it. It doesn't run through the installation wizard, which it's supposed to. I've double checked to see if maybe it did install, but it didn't. I've tried running the file through a command window, but that doesn't work either. Any ideas??? Please help!!!
