I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Recently I found out that my lenovo yoga 710-15ikb laptop doesnt support digitizer active pen technology. Its hidden in online talks and also frustration when you buy a $70 wacom bamboo ink pen to find that it doesnt work. I understand that most active pens wont work with my computer because the screen (and maybe motherboard) dont have a digitizer. However, I have been looking online and some retailers appear to be selling digitizer lcd screens for my specific model. My question is whether or not these retailers are selling aftermarket screens and if they are will the digitizer work once one is installed? Also, I have a lot of experience doing repair work, mainly with digital cameras and building my desktop, so the task of replacing my laptops screen is not a problem Im just unsure as to whether or not buying a new digitizer lcd screen will work. I dont want to spend money that I dont have to if it turns out that I am just being misled.

Thanks!

Let me know if you need more clarification I'll be around for a while.

It's hard to pinpoint when/ how this started. Occasionally the screen wouldn't turn on. Laptop would otherwise boot normally. At first I thought it was related to coming out of sleep, but then one day I noticed the display would work by pressing (applying pressure) to the lower right portion of the screen (above the hinge). So for a few months I did this whenever it happened. Eventually I had to do it every time I turned it on. This is a touchscreen, but the pressing I applied seemed to be affecting a connection behind the screen. Sometimes I needed to apply decent pressure (actually flexing the screen some), and sometimes it took a couple tries to find the right spot to apply it. Eventually this stopped working altogether, and have resorted to using a 2nd monitor. I started researching the issue again, and have not found much related to my exact issue. The interesting thing is I realized that the touchscreen is still functioning. I had set the display to duplicate, and noticed I can still perform touch functions on the laptop screen that showed up on the 2nd monitor. I watched a screen replacement vid for this model to try and understand what's behind this screen. I'm hoping it may be a simple fix with a bad connection going on. It appears all the main connections are at the bottom center of the screen. Nothing near the spot I had to press to get it to work, but maybe I was still flexing enough in that area to affect the connections at the center. I can't... Read more

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... Hello. From recent Windows update I get this issue. Not sure if it's connected to Windows update or not, but the touch screen is not working anymore when touching with fingers! I'm on latest Windows update OS Build OS 17763.529 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4497934/windows-10-update-kb4497934). It's working fine with Lenovo Active Pen 2.  Tried everything on the Internet that I could find and nothing helped. There are also similar issues with 720 model (https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Lenovo-Yoga-720-touch-screen-stopped-worki...) Anyone with similar situation on 730? What can I do?

I have been trying to get my Yoga 710 to work with a mouse, as I realy do not care for touchpads, but no miceI have used work. I have tried 5 mice, including 2 wireless ones, and all of the mice work on my other (Desktop) computer. When I plug the mice into either one of the USB slots, the computer doesn't notice anything. There is no sound like on other computers, and the mice do not glow red from the bottom like they usualy do when I plug them in. One of the mice did blink red when I plugged it in, but it immediatly went back to no light. This is a new computer, I got it for christmas and the only program I installed on it is microsoft word and my printer driver, both of which I have on other computers that work fine with a mouse. The USB ports work for other things, I am able to charge my phone on either one.  On device manager, under the Mice and other pointing devices tab, it says I have "Synaptics Pointing Device". This is different than my other computer which has "HID-compliant mouse" under that tab instead. My Operating system is Windows 10. Please forgive me if I'm missing something simple, I am not the most tech savvy. I'm also sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this, I'm not quite sure if this goes under this section.

My Active Pen 2 is not writing on my Yoga 720 anymore. I had to replace the screen a few weeks ago because of a ghost touch issue, and now while the touch screen works, the pen does not. I've tried everything: reinstalling the Wacom Drivers, buying a new Active Pen 2, resetting and reinstalling the OS, but nothing seems to work. I can't seem to find anything wrong in Device Manager, and everything looks like it should be working, but it is not. The top Bluetooth section is working fine, the top button works and opens Windows Ink Workspace, but the tip and side buttons are completely unresponsive. I've searched all over for a solution, but I still haven't found one that works. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Alright, my pen input works but not the touch input.Drivers are up to date, so is windows. Device manager shows all devices as working, incl. the wacom device and the HID-compatible touch screen.I tried to:- unistall the driver HID-compatible touch screen driver and restart- unistall the wacom driver incl. deletion of drivers, restart and reinstallation via lenovo vantage- downgrade the bios as per a solution here- reinstall of windows, one time via a lenovo restore usb, one time with a windows media creator usb In the same thread as the downgrade bios solution One of the Lenovo reps posted about upgrading the ... I contacted the Lenovo support as well and they want me to send in the device. BUT it was purchased in Germany incl. 2 year extended warranty and I'm currently residing in Denmark. Lenovo says that I can't send it in for a warranty claim without a German address and also tells me that international warranty is not an option for this device. It's quite the rollercoaster, really. Especially since I'm 99% it's not a h/w failure but some kind of low level software problem. Touch doesn't work in the bios or during windows install either. Or while booted from a ubuntu live usb. Is there anyone with the same issue and a potential solution?

Hey everyone, I picked up my Yoga today, and I love it. However, about an hour ago the touchscreen went completely unresponsive. The last thing I remeber doing, before noticing the touchscreen becoming unresponsive, was installing the Android SDK. (Well, I ran the installer, but it didn't recognize JDK). So, here I am, with the touchscreen not functional at all. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried the "refresh" and that didn't work. I'm probably going to try the wipe/clean install option in a bit. I guess that would tell me for certain if it's a hardware problem or not. I'm really hoping this isn't a design flaw with the 360 hinge causing issues. I really like the laptop, and would rather not have to deal with hardware issues like this down the road. :/ I'll be calling support in the morning, but was hoping to get this resolved tonight if anyone has had a similar problem.  Thanks!

Hi,

perhaps that program just donīt work with WIN8?

Try a Windows system restore and restore it to a point before you tried installing Android SDK.

Hi thereFew months ago I bought a Yoga 520, and I never had any problems with it. Mostly used it for work, and drawing with my wacom tablet. Tried the touch screen a few times, everything was fine. However, today I wanted to try drawing with my finger on the screen, and I realised the touch function of the touchscreen is not working. I always allow WIN10 to update itself, but since I'm not using the touch function regularly I couldn't say when it stopped working. What I've tried so far:Updated drivers, all of them. Checked Lenovo Vantage for new drivers, everything is the latest. Tried uninstalling the driver of the Wacom device from device manager. (btw in device manager, the wacom device has a yellow ! and on the Properties windows it says 'A request for the HID descriptor failed'.Again, installed every driver from Lenovo Support page I could. Tried basically everything suggested in the similar topics in this forum, and on Microsoft's page. Please tell me, you have something figured out other than 'reinstall your PC', because I don't think a notebook in this price range should be reinstalled after 3 months. Is it because a windows update? So should I wait for another update to fix this, or should I just bring it back to where I bought it?Thanks in advance, have a nice day.

Hi all, I've seen a few other posts on this subject, but haven't noticed anything too recent.  I've run into an issue with my brand new Yoga 720 where my touch screen fails to work.  Upon opening device manager, I see that my Wacom Device has a little alert next to it.  The error reported by the device is: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)  A request for the HID descriptor failed." I have tried to reinstall the driver multiple times.  I've grabbed both the Lenovo and the Wacom versions of the driver with no success. I just got the machine today.  The touch screen did not work during the initial installation process, so I don't think the updates are what killed it (as reported elsewhere).  It's also not promising that things magically started to work again after some amount of time. I suppose I don't mind taking the laptop back, but it's otherwise such a nice little laptop (widespread issues with cheap display parts notwithstanding) that I'd really like to be able to hang on to it. Any assistance and / or updates on this problem would be appreciated!

I have Sketchup Pro 2017 installed on my Yoga 720 laptop at work.  On paper it seems like this computer should be more powerful than the machine its replacing, but its performance in Sketchup is really slow.  It makes the program really difficult to use because its freezing and lagging so much.  I've run a quick diagnostic on the machine and it passed.  I also have run Sketchup with the task manager window open and it seems to be using about 35-45% of the memory while its running.  Is it a graphics card issue?  My collegue ran one of the same files I've been working on and it worked fine and her machine is in theory less powerful.  She is using Windows 7 however.  Could it be an operating system issue?  Any other ideas?

Hello dear lenovo community, I came here to ask for help about a problem I started having, and that is, the touch screen is simply not working. I've tried uninstalling and then installing the driver, disabling and enabling the driver, booting to safe mode, nothing helped. The touch screen is dead. Strangely, the wacom pen that came with the notebook still works. I can use it with the touchscreen with no problems at all. Also, I've installed a few windows updates to see if that helps me, and after the update I've got this error popup on the lockscreen, I don't remember what it was saying exactly, but it mentioned the words "tablet" and "file not found or you have no permission to access it". I can't tell if it's related to the problem here or no. I'm on Windows 10 home version 1809 with installation date 25. feb. 2019. Note that the screen still worked after this update, I last used the touchscreen on 9. mar. 2019. thanks for help in advance!

Hence why it went back twice. But now suddenly the touch screen has stopped and I can't get a single response. I recently bought a Yoga 520 from a local Lenovo's partner store. Everything worked fine, until I recently intalled the latest Windows update and restarted the device. I also enclosed the list of Update I installed until today (09/29). I had contacted the store where I bought the laptop and also consulted the local service center, but both of them couldn't resolve the issue. Some efforts I had tried:1. Hey there, I just bought a brand new Yoga 720 13IKB yesterday. Now I just configured Windows 10 and realized that the Touchscreen doesnt work. Like, at all. Which is funny, because it worked once, at the first screen of the Windows initialization, where I pressed "Next" on the touchscreen. After the whole procedure, when I got to the desktop, however, it ceased to work. In the device manager it says 'this device cannot start" (Code 10)'  on the 'Wacom Device'. It also has the yellow exclamation mark on it. So I assume, that's what causes the problem. I just don't know how to fix it, though. I'm absolutely out of ideas at this point. The list of things I've tried includes:- Deinstalling Wacom Drivers entirely- Reinstalling Wacom drivers, first time from Wacom directly, second time from Lenovo page- Installing every othe driver, including chipset drivers- Installing all availably Windows Updates- Installing newest Lenovo Firmware- Installing new BIOS (which didn't work since the newest BIOS was already on there)- Giving up and doing a complete factory reset, including reinstalling Windows 10 None of these things did anything. Even now, after the factory reset it still has the same issue and the same yellow excalamtion mark. What the hell. It has to be some driver issue, since the touchscreen itself worked (once).  So what am I supposed to do?? I can't even return my machine and request a new one, since the st...
