I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Is there a Windows 10 Driver for the HP ZR2740w monitor that will provide a resolution of something more than 1280x720? We are currently using a DVI connection from a docking station to the monitor. Thanks.

A:Windows 10 Driver for HP ZR2740w Monitor

@SpaceCoast Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! The only monitors that need drivers are those that have embedded USB ports, or other such ports that need drivers. I see you're running Win10. Did the PC come preinstalled with Win10? Or, did you upgrade it from a prior OS to Win10?This is important as PC that were updates from prior OSs are often stuch with the generic video drivers that MS provides during the Upgrade, and if that is your situation, it's a video driver problem, not a monitor problem. If you did Upgrade your PC to Win10, please provide the detailed product number so we can check for HP Win10 drivers for it. We can proceed when you provide the answers.

Q: zr2740w

I have an HP ZR2740w that is well out of warranty. The display will just randomly turn off. However, the computer still thinks the display is active. I then have to press the power button to remove the display among the active displays (I have a total of three). Sometimes, if you turn it off and back on again, it works right away. Other times you have to wait. Some times, it won't come back on at all.  This same problem happens no matter what input, no matter what computer is used. I have tried with three different computers, on three different operating systems, using both DVI and Displayport. The behavior is exactly the same.  Any suggestions on what I need to do to repair this would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted to reply to a previous question, but the thread was marked read-only, hence I am opening a new topic. On windows 7 x64, I installed SP54516 which upgraded without change to Windows 10 x64. In device manager, it seems the only drivers are "C:\windows\system32\drivers\monitor.sys" (which is Microsoft Windows 10 x64 standard monitor driver and "C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\HP_ZR2740w.icm (which is just a color profile). Just extract the folder "Files" from the patch (with Winzip, winrar of 7z) and point Device Manager to that location when installing/updating the driver.  Driver is version with date 23-Mar-11.  While that is very old, it does not matter since it's just a color profile. Good luck, sorry for those who had trouble.Ewald

I purchased an HP ZR2740W new from Microcenter at the end of 2013. Serial number CNT323W15H, I still have the receipt. According to HP's website, the warranty just expired on the 15th. I had an accident last night, and scratched the surface of the display pretty badly. There is white showing through the scratch when black is displayed. I was wondering what my repair / replacement options are through HP support. Thank you.

The device can be repaied/serviced no doubt. If you have an accidental warranty then the service would be free of charge.

Hi, I have an issue with the display port of a HP Elitebook G3 with Product ID L3C64AVIt does not recognize in anyway with a HP ZR2740w 27 inch screen. I have upgraded video drivers on laptop. Tried to find drivers for the display for Windows 10 Enterprise ( 64 bit ) with no results. The screen is ok since it works with an old laptop model HP Elitebook Folio 9470m and display port and Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit Note that the screen only has a HDMI connection and display cable.   The only result I was able to get is a quick image of the screen for 2 seconds. When checking screensettings in Windows 10, it does not get recognized at all. Any other solutions to this that can be helpful?

I am experiencing the following issue and hope that someone in the forum as an idea / suggestion. When I have the screen connected via via display port cable with the docking station and I have my laptop docked, I dont get any signal and the screen keeps black. This is independent of the Operating System - I used Windows 7, Windows 8. When my laptop is docked but I attach the display port cable directly to the laptop it works without any problem. I have also realized that with other displays 23'' or 24'' the setup with the docking station works without a problem. So it has to be a cominbination between UltraSlim Docking Station and ZR2740w screen. Any advise what else should be tried?

Update:  After calling HP technical support I and being bounced among various clueless offshore tech support reps, I finally landed on the US-based workstation support department.  Justin looked up the problem and identified it as a known issue and is replacing my monitor cable with one that HP says will work.   Also, in the meantime there is a workaround that I had figured out.  If you don't use the displayport port on the ultraslim docking station but pug the cable directly into the computer it works fine.  There is some inconvienence associated with this as you have to plug it in every time you dock and unplug it every time you undock (and of course the cable always falls behind the desk while you are doing this), but it is okay as a solution while I am waiting for the new cable to arrive.  Will update this post after it arrives and report whether it works.

I have HP Desktop Tower Pavilion with windows 10, I had two HP S2031 monitors in dual mode, worked fine. One of them died, I got a good deal on a larger HP 27er monitor.  I hooked it up, they were both working fine ... it was using a default monitor
setting ... and then yesterday the computer downloaded some updates, and in doing so, it downloaded the driver for the HP 27er and installed.  The next thing that happens is the older HP S2031 starts to go dark ... like it is going into sleep mode, and
then it is totally black.  On reboot, it starts up with both monitors working, but within seconds of reboot the HP S2031 goes black again. The HP S2031's buttons do nothing, other than the power button, which turns it off and on, but that is it.
I have done all troubleshooting, I did not even have them set up to sleep, all settings are at NEVER.  In coming here, I have done all the fixes I can find for similar  that are posted for similar issues, the Windows Key + W... nothing.
The create new power plan ... nothing.  the device manger>display adapters>disable then enable ... nothing.  and lastly Start>Control Panel>System>Device Manager>display adapter>driver tap>update ... still nothing.  HOW
DO I GET THE HP S2031 MONITOR TO NOT BE IN SLEEP AND HAVE BLACK SCREEN.  I can not figure this out and am not finding any fix.

I have an HP laptop and I have been running it with dual monitors. I finally decided to upgrade to Windows 7 and after I installed it I noticed that the built in monitor of my laptop looked strange and when I opened the display settings to change the screen resolution and set the external monitor as a separate monitor rather than a mirror I noticed that only one monitor was detected and it was the external one (Generic non-pnp monitor on standard VGA graphics adapter) and the built in monitor does NOT show up at all.

I've tried the detection button, in hopes that the computer would read the built in monitor and I could fix the problem. This did not help. I tried unplugging/replugging the external monitor to no avail. I tried restarting without the external monitor plugged in and it STILL reads the built in monitor as if it is the external one. Is there anyway to fix this? I have not tried re-installing the OS, not yet anyways.

Any suggestions ?

A:Monitor Issues - Laptop Reading Built In Monitor as if it were my external monitor.

Only thing I can think of is to disconnnect the external monitor, uninstall any monitors listed and then reboot and hope the computer installs the correct drivers for the laptop monitor.

I am using a 22" screen for my primary screen and the laptop lid open for a secondary screen. The main screens resolution is 1680x1050, I can set it to anything I want and it's always using the full screen. The laptop screen on the other hand will only use the full screen if it's at 1400x1050 resolution (max for that screen, IBM Thinkpad T43). With the large 22" screen I have no trouble reading the screen at high resolutions, the screen is huge, with the little 14" screen though I have to strain to read the screen at 1400x1050.

The problem is when I set the laptop screen to anything lower than 1400x1050, it uses less of the screen. Preferrably I want it at 1280x1024 or 1024x768 (I dont know which I want yet as I can't see the freaking screen at that resolution). At 1280x1024 for instance the useable screen is just a box in the middle, so the "1280x1024" is still barely readable for me cause it's shrunk from full screen, plus it's just annoying only using a portion of the screen.

I have played with the ATI Control Center, the Thinkpad display settings and windows display settings and just cannot get this thing to go full screen at lower resolutions when docked and using the external monitor.

Anyway to resolve this?

They both worked fine. I upgraded to 2 24" monitors with a 1920x1200 resolution. The laptop is not recognizing the second monitor. I have tried:dual display port (dock side) to mini display port (monitor side): only 1 monitor recognizeddual dvi (dock side) to HDMI (monitor side): only 1 monitor recognizedI ruled out monitor and cable problems by swapping...each by itself works fine. Looking up specs, I believe this resolution should be supported by DP or DVI. Can anybody confirm that this is a supported config? Any ideas what is wrong? UPDATE - I did try 1 DP/mDP and 1 DVI/HDMI: this does work. However, its not an ideal solution because it would interfere with the monitors ports which I want to use for a second PC. UPDATE 2 - OK, now I am beyond aggrivated. Fixed; was a driver issue. Problem seems exclusive to a Dell u2415 on DP port 1 only of the dock or to the laptop's DP port (at least for the couple monitors I tried). It's possible it could affect other monitors. My starting point: / (Nvidia /  Intel) The latest driver from Lenovo is / I'm not sure how i have a slightly newer Intel, but that's what it was. I couldn't install the Lenovo driver. I also couldn't install a newer driver from Intel ( In both cases Windows or the Intel installer stopped me saying the mfr provided the drivers and that the installed version was up to date. I worked around by first rolling back the Intel driver. The manual (.zip) install of the latest intel driver worked. This immediately fixed the Dell u2415 on DP port 1 and laptop's built-in DP port.

Once again, switchable graphics only controls which GPU is used for rendering. It does not change which GPU is physically wired to the display outputs, and all 3 of the features I listed earlier require support from the GPU that is physically wired to the display output in order to be used. Currently, Intel GPUs do not support any of those features, so in a system with the design you want, those features couldn?t be used even if the system had a dGPU that supported those features, because the dGPU wouldn?t be physically wired to the display output. I?m sitting on an XPS 15 right now that is designed the way you want and has switchable graphics with an NVIDIA GPU that supports those features ? but my system can?t use any of them because the iGPU is wired to the display outputs. Switchable graphics does not fix that. You can shout in Caps Lock and say things as many times as you want, but that won?t make you right. You clearly don?t fully understand how some of these technologies work and what they require, but if you still think I?m wrong, go do some research and you?ll find lots of threads of people asking why their laptops with NVIDIA GPUs don?t support G-Sync or VR ? or 5K displays, which is another one I forgot about. This will be the reason why.

Hi guys,

I have a really annoying problem... I have a dual screen set up on my desktop pc, and when I open a video in any media player and move it to my secondary monitor, it automatically plays full screen on my primary monitor as well!!

It's been going on for a while now, but just thought I'd actually see if anyone can help me!

I'm running win xp pro sp 3 and my video card is ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro... does that help?

Anyway, is there a setting somewhere that I need to address??

please help!

Have you tried installing the lastest drivers? And is the second monitor spanned or cloned? I don't know here to tell you to look as I'm an nVidia guy...haven't used ATI in years.

It is an Analog VGA.  The manufacture date was 2014..  It was purchased closer to 2015.  There is a dark shadow on the bottom right hand corner of the screen  It is about 1 inch high.  It extends about 2-3 inches across the bottom (Where time/date is).  Looking at the shadow it has a specific and static shape almost like a graph going UP (Up hill); you know the line on the graph from x-y?  It is a  giant blob, a shadow but does have a specific shape impacting only the bottom right.  The monitor was not placed near magnets, moved, hit, dropped or struck in any manner.  It is highly unlikely it was moved without my knowledge.  It was working amazing since the day I got it.  OVERNIGHT near a windows 10 update this shadow problem happened.I unplugged it and moved it around a bit.  I noticed tapping the bottom right (where the shadow is) does make it go away for 10-30 seconds.  So touching that area in the back (not the controls) somehow fixes the problem.  I do not know if this helps but the shadow is translucent (more grey than solid black)

Hello all,
I have a Phillips 32" LCD (model # 32TA2800/98) that I connect my laptops to with a VGA cable. I usually had my Gateway NV53A (AMD Mobility Radeon HD 4200 series Graphics card) connected and I never had a problem. Recently I connected my Samsung to the monitor and again, had no problems. When I reconnect my gateway the PC detects the monitor but the monitor does not detect the PC. If I switch back to the Samsung it works fine. I have reset the TV to factory default the only way I know how (owners manual). I have unplugged the power cable to the TV for 10 min+. I have changed from a 14 pin VGA to a 15 pin. I have updated all drivers.

It appears this one has got them all stumped. I really need help with this one and I am at a total loss. I would be forever in someones debt.

Could it be that the TV has a capacitor that holds the settings for an extended period of time? Maybe I should leave it unplugged for 24-48 hours?

I had posted this on the Monitor forum, but they said this is a Windows 10 issue and not a monitor issue.  When I disconnect the P2715Q from the laptop and start to use the laptop LCD, everything is OK. When I reconnect the P2715Q to the laptop, I notice font changes. In Windows 10 File Explorer the font in the left panel is larger than the right panel, and the fonts in Quicken are smaller. When I reboot the laptop, everything is back to normal on the P2715Q. Is this normal?  Is there a setting in Windows 10 that I need to make so I don't have to reboot when returning to use the P2715Q?

I have a dell laptop that has 1920x1080 resolution. However, i connect it to an external monitor that has 1920x1200 resolution. Basically almost everything i do is on my external monitor which acts as my main primary screen. My issue at the moment is everything is way too big on the laptop screen. I want to have 1920x1080 resolution but its way too big. I googled what is my resolution on it and it shows 1536 x 864. Can someone tell me how to change this to 1920x1080? I googled what is my resolution on the external monitor and it does show 1920x1200 which is correct.

My external monitor which is my main monitor is fine at the moment with the 1920x1200. Its windows 10 but im assuming this should be very similar to windows 7 to fix this issue?

I recently got a monitor from one of my friends saying that it was broken. Its a Dell 19in LCD. I have my main monitor a 22in Samsung wide screen So i just plugged it into the second DVI slot on my graphics Card. When i went into the display config i set up dual monitors just to see if it was working. The dell monitor would blink up then quit on me.

When i was messing with the Display settings I made the Dell. Not my Samsung the Default Monitor. I unpluged the broken Dell and restarted. Now my computer regognizes the Samsung as the second monitor and it just shuts it off and recognizes nothing as the main.

I managed to get it into safe mode and it recognized the samsung but every time i try go back to Normal Start the screen is blank.

How can i get it to recognize the Samsung as my main?

I didn't know if I should have put this in the general discussion page or the video card page but here it is.

My laptop has been acting up today. I would open the lid and it would have strange colors. For example blues would be a strange red color. But it would automatically fix itself and go back to normal colors.

I was suspicious but didn't think much of it. Later today I walked past it and the monitor was black nothing on it. So i pushed the power button and shut it down.

Than the fun began It would show me the splash screen Dell when you first boot it up like for some it would say ASUS or such depending on the mobo they had installed. It to had messed up colors only it did not correct this time than the screen went black. I waited a few minutes hoping it would wake up and give me a screen.....witch it never did.

I rebooted several more time trying to get into the bios or anything with a screen witch also failed. The DELL splash screen never failed to come up though.

After close observation I noticed there was something on the screen it was just really dark and barely readable. It said something to the effect of "Windows has failed to start" and gave me the option of booting normal or startup repair.

I eventually shut the lid and got a secondary monitor and tried to use it. Apparently shutting the lid disables the primary monitor and lets you use the monitor you plug in. And now I have a screen again. It worked.

A:Laptop monitor dilema. Is it the monitor or the intigrated video card.

Hi computergeekguy,

Since you are getting 'video' on an 'external display', it appears to be an LCD related issue with the laptop. You may also try to run the LCD BIST (Built in self test) to check the 'LCD display performance' when separated from the 'graphics'. You may find the following steps useful:
- Power off the laptop
- Press and hold down letter <D> on the keyboard
- Power the laptop back on (continue to hold the letter <D>)
- Laptop enters in the 'LCD diagnostic environment' (check the performance)

If your laptop does not enter the diagnostic mode, you may also try to release the 'flea power':
- Power off the laptop
- Unplug the AC Adapter and Battery
- Press and hold down the 'power button' for 10 - 15 seconds
- Plug the 'Adapter cable' back in and launch the 'LCD BIST' again

Do reply if you have any further questions. I would be glad to assist.

Hi there!

What I want to do: "...extend my desktop on a second monitor, but, my second monitor is compounded by 2 HDMI TVs and a VGA LCD stage monitor both used as Duplicate setup in Windows 7".

How I have done this (and it works!):

-I have 4 diplay devices (2 HDMI TVs that are connected using a splitter and two monitors both on VGA);
-I also have two "video cards" (GPU): one Amd radeon hd 6570 (with VGA, DVI, and HDMI ports), and Intel HD onboard (aprox. 1GB with VGA output port).
-I have connected the TVs with a HDMI 1x2 splitter on amd radeon's HDMI port, and one of my VGA monitors (this one acts as a STAGE MONITOR for the singer / artist lyrics).
-The integrated Intel HD card has my "Control" monitor attached that I use as my primary monitor (the one that shows me the Desktop and the lyrics control application).

Software aspect of the problem: In Windows 7, I use my Intel HD video card as my primary display, then I can extend on a second monitor the desktop! (The second monitor is my VGA Stage monitor). The Third display that appears in the setup is the HDMI splitter, this one is a Duplicate of my stage monitor. I use: 1680x1050 resolution for my primary display, and 1024x768 for the second monitor... (I know, this resolution is too small for my HDMI TV's... Windows recommends me a 1900 x ... fullHD resolution, but my STAGE MONITOR does not support that much, so I need to use a small resolution).

I recently bought a DVI cable to plug my external LG monitor to my laptop to run nVidia's DualView (stretch format) across the two monitors. I'm using a beta driver (169.04 from laptopvideo2go.com), and when I enter nVidia control panel and go into the setup additional monitors tab, it only lets me choose "choose only ONE monitor". So I did that just to test that my monitor was plugged in right, and it worked. So I KNOW that my monitor is working and is being recognized by Vista. But when going into display settings byt right clicking on my desktop, it also only recognizes 1 monitor. Is it my beta display driver messing my Vista up? Or what could it be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

A:Solved: Dual monitor in Vista not working. Only showing 1 monitor.

for drivers to work properly in vista i'm pretty sure you have to have signed drivers, since it's beta are you sure they are signed?

Whenever my computer recovers from sleep mode, or when the screensaver comes on and I wake it up, I find that all my apps are now on my main monitor.

Example: Google Chrome and Skype on Monitor 1.
Microsoft Word and MSI Afterburner on Monitor 2.

-computer sleeps/ screen saver turns on-
-I wake the computer up-

Google Chrome, Skype, Microsoft Word, and MSI Afterburner are on Monitor 1.
Nothing on Monitor 2.

Is it possible to fix this?

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
Using DisplayFusion Pro v5.0.1 to extend my taskbar to the second monitor.

GPU: r9 290
CPU: i5 4670k @ 4.2 Ghz
Mobo: ASUS z87 sabertooth TUF series
PSU: Corsair TX-CMPSU 650W

A:After dual monitor sleep recovery, all apps shift to one monitor

I've had dual monitors for years now and have never had this problem. But I also have no screen saver.

If you put your system to sleep why would you want a screen saver? All that does is keep the system active and running - which is the opposite of what sleep does.

Remove the scree saver and see what happens.

I have an ATI Radeon 4670 card. I have not had trouble getting it to "Dual Display" in the past. Usually I wanted to do an extended display. I am now trying to get it set up with my HDTV with HDMI. I have added the Realtech drivers and HDMI adapter to the video card and have been able to get HDMI and digital sound to the HDTV, I am trying to get the two displayed as clones.

The problem I am having is after getting Catalyst to display the HDTV, I have lost the image on the monitor. In the process of trying to get it back to both displays I have accidently made the HDTV an extension of the monitor. Which is really a cluster as I can not get to the control panel to make any changes. All I have is the extension showing on the big TV but none of the controls. I tried rebooting in safe mode but was unable to access the catalyst control center as it did not boot in safe mode. The big plus is that in safe mode both screens are visible, but I can not undo the Catalyst settings. I am now running a system restore which will take me back to tomorrow settings, which is not ideal but better than not being able to access anything outside of safe mode.

How do I get the TV and monitor to display at the same time?

Hello I basically need conformation that I'll need to buy a new monitor in order to have a dual monitor set up with my current system. I'm not super tech savvy so if you need any other info please let me know.

I have a Radeon HD 6670 with 3 ports, an HMID, VGA (which is my monitors type) and DVI. Each port has a stamp next to it that indicates what port type it is/supports (the VGA has a CRI stamp next to it though). My main VGA monitor works fine with the VGA/CRI port, but my second I have to use a VGA to DVI adapter and it's not working.

I've gone through a lot of forums, and found some conflicting information. So I really want to know is it possible to use a converter/adapter or will I need to just go out and buy a new monitor that has a DVI hook up?

I hope I don't need a new monitor, I'm on a very tight budget. (la sigh)

A:Radeon HD 6670 Dual Monitor setup not detecting 2nd monitor

I would try one of these before giving up on the monitor:

Rosewill 10ft. DVI-A (24+5) Male to HD15 VGA Male Analog Video Cable w/ Ferrites Cores, Model RCW-900 - Newegg.com

Forget adapters, you might not a have a compatible one, the DVI connector has many variants.

Look at that cable end and make sure it would fit on your video card's female DVI connector (it should), it's DVI-A (analog only) to VGA which is analog only....

I have a setup with 6 monitors. Today my main monitor broke and I couldn't find a way to shut the PC down since I couldn't access the main desktop to get to the Start menu.

Is there a way to change which monitor is the main monitor without having access to the current main monitor?

About 6 months ago i invested in a second video card to use with an old monitor and a new PC. After much trial and error i eventually got it all working.

A couple of days ago i re-installed windows however and therefore all my settings have been reset and am now havein problems, and if i remember rightly the same ones as before. But for the life of me i cant figure out how to solve them this time round. So any help would be appreciated.

Spec -

2x plug and play monitor (almost sure it has nothing to do with these so wont add details)

1x Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 (AGP) with fully updated drivers (from manufacturers website) (the monitor off this video card works fine)

1x ATI Radeon 7000 (PCI) fully updated drivers (without catylist command centre however due to some installation problems. I had these before when both monitors worked fine..just the drivers) - Problematic monitor

Bios - Dell Computer Corporation A12 (newly updated) (I heard somewhere that this may have an effect).

The Problem-
On my second monitor (Radeon 7000 (PCI) whenever i try to move a frame, scroll in IE etc the refresh rate is appaling. Entire lines get moved at a time.
The only time the refersh rate does not slow is when moving the mouse and scrolling through files in c drive as far as i can tell. If i switch my primary monitor to this one and stop the monitor 'extension' it still flickers. Ive checked my monitors by changing which card they use and as expected, th... Read more

A:Dual monitor problems- second monitor refresh times dreadful

Well, could be bad drivers... nvidia and ATI hate eachother, so I dunno why you got cards like that, could be a driver conflict from un-updated windows files, that is to say, uninstall drivers, update everything on windows, re-install newest drivers.

My old Windows 7 desktop sounds normal on booting up but I can't see anything on the monitor. I may not have the monitor connected properly.

A couple of years ago I bought a used corporate desktop PC with Windows 7 and used it for a while. Then I bought a new laptop and I haven't used the desktop since. Now I need to get a couple of programs off the desktop. But when I turn it on nothing shows on the monitor. The computer sounds like it's booting up okay.

I am using the very same monitor that I used before when it was working. And yes, it works and I have it turned on. (I am typing on this monitor right now (with the newer computer)). This desktop has a large port for a monitor that you connect a splitter connector to and then connect the monitor to one of the two smaller jacks coming out of the splitter connector. As I recall. when I first bought the computer I connected my monitor to a monitor port on the computer which fit the monitor's cable and it didn't work. I contacted the seller who told me to connect it to one of the splits and it worked.

But for some reason now it's not working. It could be something simple. It may have something to do with the 2-monitor configuration of which I know little.

So my question is how can I proceed toward seeing what's going on on this Windows 7 desktop computer enough to retrieve several Visual Basic programs?

A:Nothing shows on monitor after start computer / 2 monitor Win7 desktop

Project mate soem system specs on that desktop would be handy ie what graphic hook ups does it have on the I/O panel and the monitor too.

One alternative is to take out the hard drive hook it up using a USB to (I assume it is SATA) to SATA drive gadget and view it as an external drive. If it is an IDE one the gadget will still do it. See pic.

I have a dell laptop that has 1920x1080 resolution. However, i connect it to an external monitor that has 1920x1200 resolution. Basically almost everything i do is on my external monitor which acts as my main primary screen. Thus i do sometimes open some windows or drag a window or so to the other screen like youtube etc to the laptop screen.
My issue at the moment is everything is way too big on the laptop screen. I want to have 1920x1080 resolution but its way too big. I googled what is my resolution on it and it shows 1536 x 864. Can someone tell me how to change this to 1920x1080?
My external monitor which is my main monitor is fine at the moment with the 1920x1200.

Sorry for the long text, I'm trying to send as much information i have.

Hello forums!
A few years ago i built a new gaming pc because i wanted to be able to play high quality games. But since day 1 i've had nothing but problems. Whenever i play one of my high quality games such as "Assassins Creed, Tomb Raider, Battlefield 3 or Primal Carnage" the monitor goes completely blank showing a "no signal to monitor" sign after gaming for between 5 minutes to up to 2-3 hours. The monitor sometimes also shows different color stripes either for examples: orange, pink or grey. The sound of my friends on skype usually keeps going for about 20 seconds before going silent, the sound of the game shuts off instantly or goes in a loop or starts with a loud buzzing sound. The fans and the LED's on my pc are still going but i can't control anything on the pc making me have to force restart my pc on the power button.
I've been on this forum before talking to this guy who is helping me but he's been quite busy lately so i need some extra help.
I've updated all drivers to latest, i never overheat, the GPU does not go over 51C when gaming and CPU never goes over 51C either.
I've upgraded my 650W powersupply to a 850W power supply and is one of the highest rated best performance power supplies you can find.
I tried to RMA my graphics card but they found nothing wrong with it and sent it back.
I bought two new sticks of RAM 4GB each, still... Read more

This problem is kind of weird and I've never encountered it before.

I have a three monitor setup:

BenQ GW2750H
(connected with HDMI)

HP w2408
(connected with DVI)

Acer H2333H
(connected with DVI)

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 (2GB)

They are all set to 1920x1080, 60Hz

The BenQ monitor has choppiness when dragging windows on it. When I drag a window from BenQ to one of the other monitors and not let go of the mouse, the choppiness persists on the other monitor. When I let go of the window while it's on another monitor and star dragging it again, the dragging is smooth. When I move the window from the other monitor to the BenQ monitor, the dragging becomes choppy again.

I also disabled both monitors except the BenQ and window dragging was smooth. When I enabled one of the other monitors, window dragging became choppy again.

The BenQ's CD has no drivers on it, only the monitor manual. When I check windows for updated drivers, it tells me that the drivers are up to date. My video card's driver are up to date as well.

I'm completeley stumped on what the problem can be.

A:Choppy window dragging on BenQ monitor. (monitor 2 and 3 are smooth)

BenQ's site has these drivers listed: GW2750HM - LCD Monitors - Products | BenQ Australia

The issue may be using three monitors, the BenQ being the largest could be straining the GPU.

My old dell laptop L502x is a bit quirky and caused me to buy a desktop, however, i think it is still saveable. when i have it display to an external monitor via hdmi, it works 100% with no problems. however, when i use the monitor that is physically attached to the laptop, i will get a " A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor" BSOD. from what i've gathered over numerous crashes, i believe its a problem with the integrated graphics in the processor, since they are not used when outputting via hdmi. i could be wrong tho, any help is greatly appreciated.

Question: How can I reactivate my monitor without reformatting the hard drive?
This is what happened:
Two monitors were hooked to my computer, (Dell Inspiration), and I had to reduce it into one monitor.

I opened: screen resolution
Clicked on: Advanced settings
Clicked on: Monitor
Clicked on: Driver
Clicked on: Disable

After I did that, one monitor became completely dark, and the second monitor display was if it would run in safe mode, (graphic quality was so bad, it hurt to my eyes to watch it). I checked the device list and both monitor was removed from the list, there were no monitor listed anymore (before they were there).
I tried the system restore, but after the system restore finished, there were no more connection with the monitor.
When I start the computer, the monitor works for few seconds, shows the start up process, and right after the windows logo displayed, it shuts off. I tried to reboot in "safe mode", and it starts up as usual, (the monitor works), but before it reaches the desktop screen, it shuts off.
Windows version is: Windows 7
Computer: DELL Inspiration 546s
Operating System: 64-bit
Processor: AMD

Thank you in advance for your help

A:[SOLVED] windows 7 - monitor driver disabled - monitor does not work

Boot into Safe Mode with Networking, go to Start/Search and type devmgmt.msc, Right click the devmgmt results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Device Manager, are there any devices with a Red or Yellow flags next to them? If It is Red (Disabled) then right click it and Enable it.
If it is a Yellow Exclamation mark, then you need to download the video driver for your model. First try Right clicking the yellow mark and then Uninstall. Then Right click any device and choose Scan For Hardware Changes, this should reinstall the previous Video Driver, then restart the computer in normal mode.
If that doesn't work, Go to the Dell Support/Download drivers site Product Support | Dell US type in your service tag # or make and model# and download the Video driver for your model.

This one has me stumped, hoping someone can lend a hand.
(The rig in question is up to date in my system specs)

I currently run a triple monitor setup, all the monitors were purchased at the same time, and are the following model:
Asus VS247H-P 23.6-Inch LED Monitor

The three monitors are all connected to: XFX DD Radeon HD 695X (Cross-fired with an identical OEM/Model/GPU) All three are connected to a single card (which was tested out of cross-fire beforehand, and each card was tested separately)
The monitors are arranged as shown below:
1-DVI ========2-Display port to DVI (active adapter)======3-DVI
With monitor one being the far left, monitor two the center display, and monitor three the far right display.

The best way to describe the issue: There seems to be a single blue pixel on display 2 that stays in the same place, but this pixel does not show up when the color displayed is solid white, solid black, or solid red.
To rule out the usual suspects:
-All cables have been checked with new replacements (on two different rigs)
-Both cards have been tested and work properly (on two different rigs)
-The cards are NOT overclocked
-The display that shows the pixel has been tested as well (the pixel does not appear on my test rig)
-Disabling eyefinity does not resolve the issue
-Removing the second card does not resolve the issue
My question: What am I seeing? A stuck pixel? Artifacting?
Could the active adapter be causing the issue?
If it turns out to be a... Read more

Sounded like a stuck pixel until you mentioned it doesn't show itself in solid black. It's possible it still could be though, have you tried any of the remedies?
