I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

On start up I am getting the following message:Run dll. There was a problem starting C:\Program Files (x86)\ThinkPad\Utlities\PWMTR64V.dll The specified module could not be found I have not upgraded to Windows as the laptop already came shipped with Windows 10 on it. I found this doc:https://support.lenovo.com/do/en/solutions/ht500208 Tried all the steps and still get this error on every startup. I even installed the Power Management driver from here:https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/do/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-... Restarted and get the error. Then I removed the driver and get the error. Yes, I tried to remove the task scheduler also. I have this scheduler only too:Lenovo Power Management Driver PnP Task I keep trying to disable or remove that one but it keeps coming back up on start up.

My X270 will not update to the Windows 1803 update, displaying the 0xc1900209 error. This apparently means that there is an incompatible program lurking in the hardrive that is preventing the update. Do I have this right? If so, is there a meaningful recourse here? How can I find the software that's holding up the update? Thanks.

In April 2018 Windows 10 Pro tried to install the functional update 1803 on my Lenovo T460 with no luck. Error 0xc1900101. In the settings I delayed the functional updates for 365 days. Since May 2019 Windows tries to make this update again with the same Error 0xc1900101. Windows downloads the update, installs it and after the error restores the old windows version. After 10 minutes this procedure starts again, and so on. For now, I simply disabled the windows update service in order to be able to use my computer as it is. Is there any solution to this annoying problem with the update 1803 for Lenovo T460?

Good Morning, I have an X1 Yoga 3 on Windows Home. I started getting this error message on startup and googled it. From what I read from previous posts it is an unused program on Windows 10 and needs to be removed. I followed some of the instructions but many of them did not apply to me, and it's concerning for old novices like myself to be removing things. Was hoping there maybe an easier fix for this. I did call tech support and all the guy wanted to do was send me a flash drive to re-install the system. A system reset did not remove the error message. Thank You

Windows 10 Home Version 1803 up to date, Lenovo M57 PC Intel Duo Core E6750 2.66 GHz, 3 Gb RAM, 32 bit Had two sessions with Microsoft tech support for a problem which first became obvious in Windows Live Mail. The main page of the app does not format correctly, and has some text reflected vertically from the end of strings and other errors of things misplaced. I later found some errors in browsers. MS Tech Support removed the virtual device for display and the current driver. The first person left me with the original problem without finalizing the chat session after trying several fixes. The second person removed the virtual device and replaced it with generic 2006 MS display adapter support. My resolution is now 1280x1024 on a monitor which is normally at 1920x1080. Things are able to be read, but the resolution is not in proportion. In Device Manager, Display Adapter now says Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, but the actual on board adapter is from Intel. The driver used is from 2006, and does not offer recommended resolution for the monitor. How do I use the actual Intel graphics adapter and get a driver for the current version of W10 that will display correctly?

Hi, Recently bought a T430 (Without Optimus). All's good except the Laptop Temp. The left Palm rest seems to get un usually warm, no matter what OS I am on. Its a dual boot by the way, Win 7 + Ubuntu 12.04.2. With Ubuntu or CentOS or Scientific Linux, the laptop gets unusually warm...The temp monitoring utility (lm_sensors) says that its at about 45 C. I get the same temp reading on Win 7 too, but somehow, the laptop just feels more warm with Linux than Win 7.As of right now, I am on Win 7 (for past 4-5) hours.....did some browsing, MS Sec Essentials did a full disk scan, I saw some youtube vids and was toying with some Perl Scripts, and the temp is at 45C, and the left palm rest is quite warm. Its warm enough that I have to stop typing every few minutes  Has anyone else noticed this issue? Is there a work around to this issue? Is there something I should worry about ? Please let me know. I installed the new updates a month ago. This problem though, has been there since a while. I searched the forum and found that another user who had a similar issue was told to upgrade the BIOS from 1.6 something to 2.50. A:Thinkpad T430 gets significantly warm on Win 7 as well as Linux. How about a fellow T430 user ?

In my experience, Linux isn't as good with power management as Windows. 45 degrees sounds about right for a current-gen Intel processor due to Turbo Boost causing temperature spikes as you use your system normally. As for the warm left palmrest, the hard drive sits under there, so maybe the drive just tends to produce more heat. Assuming you have a conventional hard drive, give it a defrag to reduce operating stress (and hence power consumption and heat output).

There is not a graphics driver for that version of Win 10, or any version of Win 10.  Your Intel processor / graphics processor is not supported by Intel for Win 10, is several generations earlier than Win 10 is supported (Ivy Bridge.)  One option is to install a graphics card that will have Win 10 driver.  Since your system has PCIe 1.1, you should install a card that has PCIe 2.0, and not the current 3.0 (which can have compatibility issues with 1.1.)

Hello everybody! I hope all is well wherever you are!

I am having an issue with the latest, major windows 10 update.

When I originally tried to download the thing I lost WiFi connection very briefly. (I know school boy error using WiFi while updating)

Now when I try to update it stops at 80% and comes up with the message 'We cant install updates because other updates are in progress.' Before this it came up with ERROR 0xc1900107.

No other updates are running (as far as I can tell) I also ran system file checker which came back fine.

I finally downloaded the update assistant but it doesn't work that way either.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Dan

I've been trying for weeks to upgrade to Windows 10 1803, it always rolls back at about 32% Today I tried a clean install of 1803 from a USB stick. It installed just fine, but then it started installing drivers for unknown devices and after installing the Intel HD driver for the video card the system became unstable with a PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA bluescreen crashing the machine after booting up. It would appear the problem may be with the Intel HD Graphics driver which hasn't been updated in some time. Anyone managed to get 1803 running successfully on B50-30? Thanks

I tried to look through some old threads related to other OS/Hardware combinations to no avail. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Power Management Driver doesn't help at all. The 32 Bit Version of the library is there (PWMTR32V.DLL), but it doesn't install the corresponding 64 bit Version. Neither when installing from the Lenovo Homepage nor when installing via System Update Utility. What's even more strange: There are a handful of other libraries in C:\Program Files (x86)\ThinkPad\Utilities\ with both 32 and 64 bit versions/filenames, just the PWMTR64V.DLL file is missing completely. Maybe an older Version of the power Management Framework could come in handy here? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

The file and folder correspond to Power Manager, which isn't officially supported in Windows 10 (or 8.1). I'd uninstall Power Manager and see if the error goes away.

I have multiple Lenovo laptops in the family. I recently noticed a Z580 had not had any OS updates since December 2017. So I fiddled with it some (it has been running Windows 10 for a couple of years without issue) and upgraded to Win10 1803. This was a huge mistake as I was unaware that the Z580 has hardware components not compatible with Win 10... even though it's been running Win10 for years. After the upgrade to 1803, the PC boots to a blue screenn where it wants me to choose the system language, etc. IE, it has totally lost the operating system and it can't find anything to roll back to in recovery. I was perfectly happy with Win 8.1 and only upgraded to Win10 figuring it was an inevitable upgrade. I plan to replace the HDD with a SSD and believe I can get the data from the HDD. But I"m stumped as to what OS I should put back on the Z580, since it came preinstalled. Is the Windows key embedded in the ROM? I don't have a Windows key for this 5 year old laptop and don't recall seeing one when we bought it. Any suggestions?

I was running a program on my Windows 10 computer Build 1709 that was located on my Windows 2003 server. The executable was located on the server. I upgraded to 1803 and it no longer works. A second computer did the same thing and I was able to go back to build 1709 and it started working again. I can't go back on the computer that still has 1803 because it's been more than 10 days or 7 or whatever. Research was pointing to the probability it was an SMB share issue. I saw that supposedly 1803 does not support SMBV1 which is what Server 2003 is using. However, I go into the Windows features settings and is shows SMBv1 checked off. When I run -get smbconfiguration or whatever in powershell it returns the version as 1.5. Anyway, I also saw some suggest to install AVG or Avast which disables Defender. I've done that and did not work. I've tried running it in compatibility mode and that didn't work. Looking for suggestions. If it is an SMB issue, there is no way we are upgrading the server at this time. I can resinstall Windows on the workstation if I have to, but I would love to avoid it enough that I joined this site and posted for the first time hoping someone can offer another suggestion. Thanks.

Also tried the windows update repair tool, but no change. All drivers is up to date according to the Lenovo support driver download page.  Anyone else having problems with the 1803 update?  I have a Thinkpad X1 5th gen. PC. Model nummer 20HRS1MU00 Regards,Stian
