I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Posted in the notebook section as this all in one uses mainly notebook parts. I am looking for the part number / availability of the option video card upgrade. I will also the proper hp heatsink. Other than knowing this a MXM type, I have been unable to find part numbers. Wish I had the option at time of purchase, but FRY's did not stock the unit with upgrades. Thanks

I am not sure if I should ask here or in the laptop section since it is classified as a desktop, but the innards are more along the lines of laptop components. I have an Omni 100-5155 and looking for any upgrade options I may have (I do realize those options are extremely limited). I've already maxed the RAM to 8Gb, but am looking for CPU, hard drive and wireless possibilities. So my questions -What is the max capacity hard drive the motherboard will accept? I am hoping to also replace the optical drive with a hard drive caddy. Are SSD's and/or SSD/HDD hybrids supported? Can the PCI Express x1 802.11 b/g/n card be replaced by this? (to match my router's ability)Intel 3160 Dual Band Wireless AC + Bluetooth Mini PCIe card Supports 2.4 and 5.8Ghz B/G/N/AC BandsOr would I be better off getting a wireless USB dongle (if that would even work)? Any CPU suggestions or same form factor motherboard upgrade replacement possibility? I know my USB 3, better graphics and Gb WLAN dreams will have to wait until I've finished saving for a moderate gaming rig build, but I thought since I'm likely to be upgrading to Win 10 soon I should try to get the most I can out of this system... which will be eventually handed down to the nephews, hopefully within the year.  Any and all helpful suggestions will be appreciated. I am trying to upgrade my computer. So far I've successfully upgraded the CPU, RAM and wifi/bluetooth adapater. However, I have not been able to successfully upgrade my video card.  I've purchased two different cards and when I install them the computer powers up but the screen is black. It seems like the computer is still functioning because when I remove the card and boot using the onboard video the system has installed drivers for each of the two cards I've tried. This is my computer:http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03377747 These are the two video cards I've installed:https://www.amazon.com/HP-EliteOne-Radeon-Graphics-671864-002/dp/B00H71JJOShttps://www.amazon.com/Asunflower-GeForce-N13P-GL2-A1-660498-002-Graphics/dp/B01MF91A4P I noticed that my computer doesnt have a cable connected to either the MXM_LVDS or UMA_LVDA ports which are located right above the MXM slot. Is this related to my problem? I've inspected the hardware and there does not appear to be a lose cable anywhere.  As far as I can tell there is nothing to plug into either one of those two ports. I have also updated my bios, disabled secure boot and all power management functions (suggestions I read in other posts). So far nothing has worked.  I've included a copy of my msinfo32 and a picture of the motherboard. I'm at my wit's end, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

2 Issues 1. I cant change the balance of my speakers with my USB soundcard, 2. Random crackles.[/B]

So It seems that when I open the Omni control Panel click Mixer, The Balance bar only works for the Line-In/Mic-in/array, it does not work for the speaker, instead it just controls the volume. My theory is that Creative for some odd reason even thought it shows as 2.1 speakers the system views it as 1 speaker.

I tried the following programs to control the balance externally:

NirCmd: only controlled volume

Volumouse: acts like it is going to work, but after spending hours trying to get various configurations to work it might sporadically function, still pops full screen games. Scroll wheel still is sent to the application in focus, not the audio control.

Sound Control: Only controls volume

Volume2: only controlled volume, when you edit balance it brings the volume to 0

IndieVolume: not tested, but many users on the web say it does not work with 64bit , that may have changed.

This is what I see:

Ironically... Winamp seems to control the balance without any problem whats so ever. But I use spotify mainly now and it its a pain to not be able to control the volume levels.

Would appreciate the help.

A:Cant change Balance L/R Speakers Sound Blaster Omni 5.1 USB w/ 2.1spkr

One thing I notice in your Sound Playback panel. RealTek and SoundBlaster are both listed. Even though you have SoundBlaster selected, the fact that the RealTek is not disabled COULD cause conflicts. When using a separate sound card, disable the on-board (RealTek in this case) in the BIOS.

Playback controls such as Balance are separate from recording controls.

If you have a 2.1 speaker system, its considered a "stereo" system and only one stereo connection to the sound card. Only when you get into 5.1/7.1 systems are there separate connections to the sound card for the speaker system.

Whether the RealTek is affecting anything or not, disable it and then see what you can control.

However i have Windows 7 home premium (not licensed) 32-bit disc from a friend.

I have 3 questions :

1) Will there be any driver conflict since ill have to install the license using a crack.
2) Whats the logic behind installing OEM license information on Windows 7 retail versions using windows 7 loader.isnt there a crack available to just install a license key to convert it into a fully licensed retail version.
3) My friend suggested me to install the windows 7 64 bit to take advantage of the full 4 GB of ram.

I need help from you guys. My PC's coming tomorrrow.

Hello everybody. As I mentioned, I am using the Omni 27 - 1000et model All In One desktop computer. I have 2 problems.1- The factory-built Windows 7 computer automatically upgraded itself to Windows 10, but did not receive the Windows 7 activation code. As a result, the currently installed windows 10 seems to be unactivated and I am uncomfortable with this situation. I have to solve this.2-I do not know if the graphics card of the device is AMD mobility Radeon HD 5570 or AMD Radeon HD6550A. As a result I applied to 3rd party driver control applications and installed the AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5570 driver and said that the driver was successfully installed. But when I go to the device manager, I get the message '' The driver for this device is not installed ''. As a result, when I turn the computer on and off, I get an error such as '' The driver for the device is not installed or the device is not installed '' by AMD.I ask for your help in solving these problems.I'm sorry for my bad english.

Alright, so here's my problem.

I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 after using XP for what seemed like forever. I picked up a copy only to find out that I couldn't simply upgrade, rather I had to do a custom install. So I transferred my files to an external hard drive and proceeded to install 7. Everything went smoothly, I transferred over my original files and things were great. Until I realized my sound wasn't working.

I looked up solutions to my problem, most pointed towards downloading Realtek's new W7 driver. I followed some guides I found in my searches but after checking and rechecking my device manager, I saw that my sound driver wasn't updating.

Realizing my efforts weren't enough, I gave up and decided to revert to XP. I popped in my XP installation disc and rebooted. However, another issue came up. When choosing which partition to install the OS onto, my hard drive doesn't show up.

So now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'd much rather solve my sound issue, as I'm eager to try out Windows 7. But if that doesn't work out, I'll settle for a downgrade to XP.

I'm getting desperate. I'll take any help I can get. If you need any of my hardware info, just ask.

After the Win 10 upgrade, (running Firefox) Pandora, U tube, Quicktime, and Itunes audio all quit working....
this is what I have in the Manage Audio Devices control panel:

Speakers / Headphones
IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
Default Device (green check mark)

Communications Headphones
IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
Not Plugged In

Digital Output (S-PDIF)
IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
Ready

When I right click the default device and hit "test" - I get a nice and normal sounding audio test through my dual speaker / subwhoofer system. The only other place I've been able to get audio, is when I open the Windows Media Player, and play a video file with an .mts extension - sound plays just fine... however, .mov and .mp4 files in Win Media player videos will not play audio. Just so you all are clear, I'm sure I could easily explain just why the heck that is but what can I say?

the first thing I tried was to update the driver in Device manager/ I also tried manually selecting and installing the High Definition Audio Device windows driver which is available, but I lost even the little bit of working audio I had...

Here's hoping for a solution - getting rather tired of this "quality" time I'm spending with my computer just so I can get things back to where they were before the upgrade....

What else should I try?

Hi All,

I have recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and I have had some problems with all of the sounds that I hear having a horrible static before, during, and after they play, and sometimes they are really distorted in addition to this.

I have the Sennheiser PC 363D with the latest 3D_G4ME1 drivers (version 1.4) for the Dolby sound. I have already tried reinstalling drivers and changing the default format in the speakers properties in Windows from "16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality)" to "24 bit, 96000 Hz (Studio Quality)" seems to make it better (sometimes it's hard to tell) but it still sounds really bad.

I have also tried not using the USB sound card that is included with the headphones and I still get the bad sound, but if I try the headset on my Linux laptop it works great (no static or distorted sound) and my headset worked great before I upgraded to Windows 10, so it's obviously not my headset.

I have a friend that has the exact same headset and has also upgraded to Windows 10 (from Windows 8) so I will ask him if he has this problem (he's a bit of an Audiophile so I'm sure he would have mentioned it before if this was a problem for him).

Also I have this problem posted on another forum, but have not received any feedback after awhile so I'm just asking again on this forum in hopes this will answer my question sooner.

I recently upgraded my laptop from vista to 7 using the disks I got from HP. Ever since, the sound hasn't been working right. One of two things now happens when I boot.

Either the sound touch control above my keyboard doesn't respond, leaving my computer muted or not. And I cannot change it through the sound icon in the notification area. It lets me change it, but nothing actually happens.

Or, the sound touch control works, but when I try to play sound, the program it is coming from freezes. Ex. Youtube video causes firefox to freeze, mp3's cause wmp to freeze.

I updated both sound drivers, but it hasn't helped.

Thanks for any help.

A:Windows 7 upgrade,Now sound card not working

Older sound cards, that worked OK in Windows XP can be a problem in Vista/Win7/Win 8 as the XP drivers are not compatible. Some sound functions are handled differently and require Vista/Win7 specific drivers. Many older devices are not compatible (hardware and/or internal firmware) and thus a prime reason no compatible drivers are available.

Unfortunately, if you can't find any drivers, you will have to replace the sound card with a Win 7 compatible device. Same way with a new, compatible, USB connected gaming controller. The trials and tribulations of upgrading older hardware to new OS systems that are designed primarily for newer hardware.

If this is a game port joystick you may be able to use a USB/game port adapter but there are no guarantees with these - some devices work satisfactorily and some do not. That would probably less costly than replacing the sidewinder wheel.

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10. My Omni 27 has an HDMI in which I used to play my Xbox on. After the upgrade Windows 10 installed updated drivers and I have no issues within windows. When I switch the input the video from my xbox shows up but the sound does not work. I have the latest version of HP My Display installed. I have tried multiple HDMI devices without luck. The driver for the HDMI sound is installed; IDT HIgh Def Codec. Is this a driver issue or a software issue. Please help resolve. Will this model of pc ever have windows 10 drivers uploaded to the HP Support Page?

After upgrading to windows 10 from windows 7, surround sound does not work properly. Whether using analog or digital.
First of all, 5.1 now has side speakers available instead of rear speakers. I had to actually unplug from rear channel and plug into side channel to get surround speakers working. But it still does not sound right, it does not sound as it should. Not like it did in win 7 I don't think this is proper format and mapping. Using the same exact drivers in win 7, I get rear speaker option (not side channels) and it sounds proper.

Furthermore, When watching videos in vlc, wmp, or browsers. THX Trustudio surround settings have no affect on sound. And Neither do any of the realtek control panel enhancements. Only time realtek enchancements have an affect is when playing mp3 file formats in wmp in stereo mode.

Updating to the latest realtek driver does not fix this issue. I believe this is a Microsoft windows 10 issue. One of the things MS has always had over linux is better sound and surround sound controls. This is a huge step backwards and a disappointing experience.

Also I notice now under codec it says alc3220 instead of alc887 like on win 7. So I think it is not recognizing the correct hardware?

Thanks,

Rich.

I attempted a clean install upgrade to Windows 10 this weekend. All seemed well until a restart. Receive a blue screen upon trying to start.  Problem is traced back to the SB Audigy 2 ZX (WDM) sound card. Tried multiple drivers including 3rd party that claimed to work with Windows 10.  All to no avail. Sometimes the card will work for a few start ups and then the blue screen returns. (I theorize updates are causing the problem however Windows 10 seems to force all updates on you.)

Has anyone gotten this sound card to work well? How did you do it?

A:Dim 9100 upgrade to Windows 10 Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZX (WDM)

The 12 year old Audigy 2 ZS does not have Windows 10 support. You will need to remove it from the computer and purchase a external USB sound card that has Windows 10 drivers.

About one week ago from today's date my computer automatically updated from W8.1 to W10, and since then the audio speaker sound quality has noticeable dissipated.  Previously, I enjoyed a listening to music with a stereo sound quality, and since the update the sound quality mimics a transistor radio (AM).  I have went into the device manager; scanned for hardware updates; uninstalled and reinstalled the driver; changed the sample rate and bit depeth within the Playback devices tab; reached out to MS for answers.  Unfortunately, nothing is working and I believe the solution is to update the sound card from the Manufacturer.  I have input my model type in the HP support and driver download section, but I do not know which specific software to choose?  Also, I have referred to my HP assistant icon and it tells me everything is update to date for my device.  Hopefully, someone out there with experience can give me the proper directions to solve the issue. I have searched the HP support forum, and I see there are others who have had a similar experience.  Thank you in advance. JS.

I just bought a 8300 with WIN7 x64 installed. I used my speakers from my old DELL, and the sound is awesome. I may be a little simplistic, but if you suddenly don't have sound after doing an installation, could you possibly need to install the driver for your sound card?

A:No sound via speakers after Windows 10 Upgrade from Windows ...

Hi If reinstalling the driver doesn't work, then try using the generic audio driver that comes with Windows. Here's how: in Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) your audio driver > Update driver software... > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, select High Definition Audio Device, select Next, and then follow the rest of the instructions to install it.

Hello all,

I had my Satellite Pro P100 (Model Number is PSPAEE-00C006EN and the second digit of the serial number is "7") upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and since then, a couple of bugs seem to have occurred - can anyone help on the following:

-Screen DIMS in increments, regardless of the fact that I have saved my power settings to remain on FULL (battery or mains power)

-No sound. Once or twice, the sound card has worked and the settings say it works properly (and you can see the graphic equalizer moving).
In terms of PC knowledge, I'd be 5/10 (so not a dummy , but certainly not a pro! and have tried a lot of the more obvious things)

Thanks all

A:Satellite Pro P100 - Screen and sound issues after Windows 7 upgrade

Hello

1.) If the screen dim option doesn?t work properly anymore, I would recommend reinstalling Toshiba Value Added Package. This package controls such functions, FN keys and others. Check the Toshiba page for an update!!!

2.) Have you checked if the sound is muted if the equalizer works? Furthermore you can also try updating the sound driver? Maybe it works ;)

Hello!

At first everything seemed fine. Everything was working, I only needed to upgrade the VGA driver.
I have a xonar D1 card with uni-xonar which worked immediately.

Than when I listened to music I noticed clicking and stuttering which got really horrible after while.

Talked about it on hydrogenaudio: Clicking, stuttering after upgrade to Windows 10 - Hydrogenaudio Forums

I clean installed VGA, updated the LAN driver, re-installed xonar. Things improved but they still suck. Clicking is still a regular occurance.

I checked latency when LAN and the soundcard was disabled but latency still sucked:

Since I was using the very same hardware for years without these issues and I have doubts that several hardware or their drivers suddenly started misbehaving I'm guessing it might be an issue in win10 itself.

I attached the latest measurements. (screenshots and report) The worst values still belong to the same as the first time: VGA, soundcard, LAN, USB, ntoskernel

Don't know what else to do.

A:Clicking, stuttering sound after upgrade to Windows 10 - High latency

The latency-problem is usually caused by the latest Intel network driver. There are countless threads about this and easily google-able. There is no real help, Intel is promising to "look into it" for over a year now and still no fix.
I changed to Realtek NIC because of that - best €10 I ever bought for the computer, to have no problems.

After updating to windows 10 I had a few minor problems with the start menu and ran a fix tool to get this working. This tool seems to have broken the sound and wifi (it now won't turn on and cannot detect any sound devices). I tried to do a restore but I misread and seemed to select an option which deleted all the installed software and this has now removed all the initial software from Toshiba.

As such I have a fairly major problem... I could just restore my factory setting but I am not keen to do so and I have been very lax with backups of all but the most important files. Is there anywhere to download the original toshiba software so I can restore all this functionality?

Working on a client's computer that was blue screening with Vista 32 bit HP desktop gl309aa. She cannot find the original Vista install CD. I determined that the culprit was probably the wifi driver, and hoped to install updated drivers for that, plus video card and sound card drivers. After much fiddling with the system, I finally got it started through Startup Repair long enough to install the video driver. I had to go through 2 sets of memory diagnostics to start it at all, since even safe mode was not working. When I went to do the sound card driver, it required an uninstall first, so I did that, and foolishly went along with the restart to finish the process. Lacking a sound card driver, it blue screened all over again. Tried everything, including many times with HP Recovery, but every time it blue screens before any process can complete. On top of this, while working on it, she had a power "flash" for a second, and now the system is missing BOOTMGR so it won't even try to boot into safe mode or anything else. I have the drivers on flash but cannot install them. I've decided to forget Vista (awful system anyway) and give her Windows 7 instead. Much more stable, and her data is backed up in case she loses it.

My question: am I going to have any problems installing the Windows 7 if the computer still thinks it has no driver for the sound card? And is there a way to install the file before or during the Windows 7 installation so it will go smoothl... Read more

I recently updated to windows 10 but the Waves Maxx audio is not working properly. It doesn't start automatically at startup (it is not disabled in task manager) and the audio is cracking both in speaker as well as in all my headphones and earphones. I've reinstalled the driver from Dell's official site several times but nothing works. My windows 10 OS is up to date with anniversary update. In device manager all the drivers are installed.
