PSP User Defined Function

Q: PSP User Defined Function

I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to use the User Defined function in Paint Shop Pro 7 or could tell me a website where it is explained. Like what are the different Filter Matrix boxs, and what do the numerical values define, and what do division and bias values define?

Thanks in advance for the help

Preferred Solution: PSP User Defined Function

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Sorry, but I don't have a clue what you are asking , but there are a lot of PSP tutorials here http://viewlet.com/viewletlibrary/teachlist.jsp?action=go_find&value=paint+shop&language=English
Hopefully there will be one to help you.

Or here is a link to a Paint Shop Chat Forum. Might find the answers you need

I have a UDF for giving me the name of a sheet called "sheetname", which simply returns the name of a sheet as a string. I would like to then be able to go to that sheet. I can't use a hyperlink because the cell is dynamic as is the sheet reference so the cell changes. I tried this:

Sub GoSheet()

Dim sheet As String

sheet = sheetname(ActiveCell)
Application.Goto Reference:=sheet & "!" & "C3"

End SubClick to expand...

I got an error of course saying that I had not defined "sheetname", but it is defined as a UDF. How do I use that in the macro?

It has been a while since I have dabbled with VB so please be patient. I have been searching how to do this for a couple of days now. I am trying to create my own data type. I have done it before but cannot think how for the life of me. I want to store a number of objects and have, for example, it's height, weight, shape in a type. I don't want to simply use integer values, I can do this easily, but I would like to have, say, "Small", "Medium", "Tall" for the height and "Round", "Square" and "Triangle" for the shape, etc. As I said, I know that you can define a list of items that you want in your own type, but search as I may I cannot find reference to it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm currently trying to create user-defined characters in Vista 64 Bit using the private character editor (eudcedit.exe).

I can create characters, but I can't select the user-defined font in the character map (charmap.exe).It's not in the list of fonts.

I am taking a beginners computer science course in Java, and I am currently learning about methods. There is one question where I have to calculate the ending balance on a deposit at a given rate of interest, and it says I need a user defined procedure-type method (called compound), and a main method that will call it.

I just want to know how to get the program to move to the user-defined method because when I run it, it does not output the last statement which gives the ending balance. It only outputs the main method. This is what I have:

import java.io.*;

public class CompoundInt {

public static void main (String[] Args) throws IOException {

BufferedReader myInput = new BufferedReader (new InputStreamReader ( System.in));

String inDeposit, inRate;

System.out.print("Enter your bank balance: ");
inDeposit = myInput.readLine ();

System.out.print("Enter the annual compounded interest rate: ");
inRate = myInput.readLine ();

compound ();

static public void compound (double deposit, double rate, double endingBalance){

deposit = Double.parseDouble (inDeposit);
rate = Double.parseDouble (inRate);

endingBalance = deposit + ((rate/100) * deposit);

System.out.println("The ending balance of $" + deposit + " at an annual compounded interest rate of " + rate + "% is $" ... Read more

Excell XP:
Where is the file where the user-defined chart types are stored?
And is it possible to make a back up of this file?

I just had all my customiezd chart types deleted for no reason. I wish I had a back up of them...

It can be also useful in case of total reinstalation, sharing with others...

Second problem: when I close and re-open Excell, the user-defined chart type, that was set as default is giving squeezed chart area on the top of the chart window, making it unreadable, after I put a title.
The same operation work if I don't close Excell. Once I close it, the chart type become unusable.

A:Where do I find User-defined ChartTypes?

Well, I just created a custom chart and checked my machine for files that changed at that time. Then I searched for those file names. You can view the results, I did not.

Excel10.xlb (this also stores toolbar settings, see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=280659 )
Excel10.pip (never heard of this one, but see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=193006 )
XLUSRGAL.xls (prior versions used to create xl5galry.xls for custom chart storage, but see http://www.woodyswatch.com/office/archtemplate.asp?v5-n11 )

Hey, Guys. I am converting to MP3s a friend's 50 (!!) CDs of the Bible to a USB stick for him.

How can I User Define the name and numbering system in Nero 7 to start at a higher number than 1?
For instance, the first CD is Genesis 1 through 23. You do that by setting the track naming system to Genesis %N to get it to start naming Genesis 1 and automatically go through to Genesis 23. Is there a way to get it to start at Genesis 24 and continue naming correctly to Genesis 39 for the next CD? I know I can just let it start at 1 again, and manually rename them after the conversion, but that is going to be a pain for 50 CDs if there is a better way!

Is it possible to use functions that I define in the VB module in spreadsheet cells?

A:Excel: Possible to use user defined (VBA) functions in cell formulas?

Hi there,

Absolutely. A great addition with the VB5 library. Although, you could actually do it, very carefully, with the old Excel4Macros as well (but those are finicky and troublesome IMHO). Also, in Excel 2007, even though it defies everything ever said about UDF's, you can sometimes change a set of cells formatting via UDF as well! I wouldn't recommend it though, as I don't think it was intended to be able to do so, not really sure there. There are some things you should do to a UDF to make it 'spreadsheet cells friendly' though. Such as naming your variables, think of using Application.Caller method, not using Activesheet or Activeworkbook and such. Compare those to using the INDIRECT() function without leaving a reference (second syntax) on multiple sheets/books. If you have a UDF, feel free to post it up. If you don't have one and would like one, please post your requirements along with some sample data and the expected results.

Hi there,
I apologise if this has been covered before. I am planning on importing a large number of contacts from excel to outlook (both 2003).
Because there are so many contacts I want to be able to categorize them beyond the default categories provided in outlook (company, job title etc) so that I can then sort them alphabetically, ctrl+shift those of the desired category and send out emails. E.g. say I want to add the category favourite pizza, and then I may want to sort the contacts to email everyone whose favourite pizza is (say) vegeterian.
I have found two ways to add additional categories:
1) via the user-defined fields (text based)
2) Add an additional category to the master list (yes or no)
1) I have not found a way to map these details to those in outlook, i.e. when trying to map I can't find the user-defined categories list anywhere (?)
2) this DOES map but you "can't sort by categories" when looking at a phone-list view of contacts. It is also possibly prone to error as all the information is not under the same heading (e.g. favourite pizza vs listing a number of different pizzas)
I don't think I explained that very well... but if it makes sense to anyone please help!
Thanks very much

A:Solved: Excel Macro help - copying user defined row

welcome to the board. Dou you already have a macro that does anything special?
all you need is define a variable and an input box, then if the nr is a valid row exceute the copy command

Sub Sample()
Dim xrow As Integer
xrow = Application.InputBox("enter row nr.", "ROW", 2, , , , , 1)
If cell(xrow, 1).Value = "" Then Exit Sub
Range("A" & xrow & ":K" & xrow).Copy

' and here come the rest of the code to paste or whatever the macro has to do

End Sub

See if this helps you on the way

My system is Win7-SP1 with 2 SSD's and 2 HDD's. What I want to do is keep the pagefile.sys file off my SSD boot drive and put it on the other SSD. But the standard method to do this does not work - when I use the Virtual Memory dialog to set up a page file on my non-boot SSD the dialog says it is created ok, but in fact no file is created.

There is no error message generated, but if I try to put the pagefile.sys on my non-boot SSD Windows creates a new one on the boot drive immediately after restarting. This is because there never was a pagefile.sys created on the non-boot SSD.

Right now I have the page file on one of my HDD's and it works fine there (at least it seems to - how can anyone really tell?) and I have no page file on my boot SSD. But I'd rather have the pagefile.sys on my second SSD instead.

The following techniques do NOT WORK:

1. Copying pagefile.sys from it's current location to the SSD. Windows won't copy it because it says it is in use.

2. Booting off the Win7 DVD and using the System Repair Command window to copy pagefile.sys. This fails because the command window does not see or list pagefile.sys.

3. Restore from backup to alternate location. This fails because my backup program (Paragon 12) does not back up the pagefile.sys file or the Recycle Bin and a few other "system" files like that.

I'm hoping there is some obscure DOS command (or something) that supports the creation of a pagefile.sys from the command prompt. ... Read more

A:How to create user-defined pagefile.sys when the normal method fails

pagefile.sys can't be copied, as there's a persistent handle opened to the file during boot and is only destroyed on shutdown - given it only holds memory pages for the duration of the running OS session, copying it doesn't seem to make much sense anyway.

The way you "move" the paging file using the sysdm.cpl dialog is to first set the system to "no paging file", rebooting, and then setting a paging file on a different volume (and rebooting again). Assuming you do these steps, it should create a pagefile.sys on the specified volume and get rid of the one on the other. To be sure though, make sure you are using the dir /A command to view the root of the drive that should contain a paging file (pagefile.sys).

Hi! I am in the process of building a database for my business. I have built the datatables and I have built the forms for the users to enter the data. Now I need to create a form (preferably like my data-entry one) where a user can enter the last name or account number of who they are looking for and only that specific person's account comes up. I know my way around Access but I am unfamiliar with VB. and coding. If someone has a better idea of what I could do I am open to suggestions. I just need to have a way of users searching for a specific account by name or number. Thanks to anyone to can help!

A:ACCESS 2010: How do I create a user-defined search form?

Well you could use a separate search form, but what would be really usefull is to add 2 "Find Combo's" to your current data entry form, they will list all the names and accounts for the user to choose from and go straight to the record.
They are a very efficient way of finding data.
If you want a Search form I posted one on this thread.

When attempting to start the Data Collector Set the following system error occurred:

I also made sure the local Administrators group is in 'Log on as a batch job' in User Rights Assignment. As recommended on some other troubleshooting steps.

Still not working, any other troubleshooting ideas? Most of what I've found relates to Task Scheduling and I'm able to create in there without issue.

Dear Microsoft: Please don't take away my Live Mesh | Microsoft - CNET News

The beauty of Live Mesh, though, is that you can sync any folder anywhere on your hard drive without having to move or copy it to a specific location. You simply tell Live Mesh which folders to keep in sync on each PC, and it does the rest.
The new SkyDrive will sync your files. But unlike Live Mesh, it won't sync specific folders from anywhere on your PC.
Instead, it creates a folder on your PC called SkyDrive. Any subfolder or file you wish to sync has to be moved to that specific location. So what was once an automated process now becomes a manual and laborious task. It also can easily create problems for applications that want to store content in your Documents folder, for example.

I just switched to Skydrive for this! It was a royal pain figuring out how to junction my documents folder on my second drive into my Dropbox folder. Is there any way to avoid upgrading?

A:Microsoft updating Skydrive, no longer can sync user-defined folders

I was under the impression you could put the SkyDrive anywhere you wanted it. I was planning to put it on my data drive, which is where my documents and user created files are anyway. I point my libraries to these folders, so anything I would want synced, I could store, by default, in SkyDrive.

On computer1, I have successfully created a customized form with user-define fields in Outlook 2007 and a merge document in Word 2007 that works (starting the merge from Outlook 2007). I want to copy the custom form with the user-define fields and the merge document to a second computer (computer2).

I saved the custom form with fields from computer1 to a *.fdm file using the Tools, Options, Other, Advanced Options, Custom Forms, Manage forms. On computer2 I used the same process to install the custom form file (*.fdm) into Outlook 2007 and created a new contact folder that uses the form and displays/adds new contact records correctly. I also copied the Word merge document to computer2. Computer1 and computer2 both have Office 2007.

All the problems occur on computer2. First, when I attempted to merge (starting in Outlook 2007), Word gave messages that all my user-defined fields did NOT exist in the database although I could see them in the Contact records. I attempted to create a new document and the user-define fields do NOT show up in the Word merge field list either.

On computer2, I created from scratch a new contacts folder with a new custom form and user-define fields which works when merging. Therefore, the problem seems to be that Word can not see the fields I created from the *.fdm file I installed.

Can anyone please help me with this? Thank you in advance.

How can I make a separate copy of the Window submenu item in a custom menu bar that will allow the user to switch from window to window (but nothing else)?

In my app I want to restrict the things that a user can do so I created my own, pared-down versions of the standard menu bar and tool bar and turn off the standard ones upon startup. I want to add the "Window" submenu to my custom toolbar. In this custom version of the window submenu, I don't want to be able to tile, arrange, or hide/unhide, I simply want a list of visable windows and to be able to choose one of them to be the active window.

I know how to put a new submenu item in a custom menu and how to insert menu items into it but I don't know how to add this un-named capability to my custom "Window" submenu.

I tried copying the existing Window submenu from the standard menu bar onto my own custom menu bar by ctrl-dragging it, but rather than creating a new instance of the windows submenu, it apparently only created a new pointer or shortcut to the existing window submenu item because when I went to delete the tile/cascade/hide/etc items from the custom window submenu, they also disappeared from the window submenu in the standard menu bar.

How can I make a separate copy of the Window submenu item in a custom menu bar that will allow the user to switch from window to window (but nothing else)?

I am continually getting the error "Run Time error 1004: Application defined or object defined error," each time a user clicks one of the cells within this excel file. It comes up as apparently a visual basic error. I've search other sites and unfortunately do not know enough about macros or excel formulas to know what to do next, so I thought I would post about it here. One user apparently has no trouble opening it while every other user has the same issue. Here is the debug code:

Private Sub Worksheet_Deactivate()

End Sub

Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Excel.Range)
Cells.Interior.ColorIndex = -4142
Target.EntireRow.Interior.ColorIndex = 8
Target.EntireColumn.Interior.ColorIndex = 8
End Sub

The "Cells.Interior.ColorIndex = -4142" portion is highlighted in yellow, so I assume that's where the error is. From there, I'm not sure what to do to change it. Please let me know as soon as possible what direction I should take.

A:run time error 1004 application defined or object defined error

To be honest...I would assume that the file is corrupt and try to replace it. All seemingly meaningful links on this error involve VBA coding and things that can go wrong with it...way overhead my head and out of my interest arena .

If it truly is a coding error (as seems implied), I would take it to the originator of that file, since it throws an error.

Very strange that e pluribus unum...manages to use it without problems .

Another better option in my opinion is to designate an unused cell on the sheet to hold the date that the code will use. When the macro is run it would read from that cell to determine the date to use when updating the links.

I understand that in versions of Windows 7 and earlier there was a function with system advanced to copy a user profile from one to another profile.....using ' copy to '

I tried this in Windows 10, but the copy to option was greyed out, so used an app called Windows enabler which allowed the copy to option to work.....but when I clicked on yes to copy to the selected profile I received an error message about Windows not being able to delete a folder and perhaps I should delete it first.

apparently this error doesn't happen in Windows 7 and earlier...

wondered if anyone knew of a workaround for Windows 10

Windows 10, MS Word 2016, Acer Aspire F 15 F5-573-55LV.

On Friday morning, I began experiencing an odd problem in Word. I often use the review functionality of MS Word to make edits and comments on the work of others. The problem is that when I make a comment, the program creates a new instance of my user name, and all future edits are stored under this new name.

Hence, in a recent paper, I ended up with tracked changes in five different colors, all under the name "Editor". I can fix this issue by using the compare function, but I still end up with the comments in the first color (for some reason, this color does not change) and the edits in the last. Any idea what could be causing this and how I could resolve it?

Thank you.

When I took over a PC used by my predecessor, he had Win 7 (MS keyboard) set up so that the Windows key to the right of the space bar and Alt key will dump "http://www." into any open text field. This saves me a lot of time on a repetitive task with our software. However, when I asked one of our best developers how I could assign "mailto:" to another key, he had no idea how the existing functionality was set up. Googling "Windows 7 hotkeys" didn't find me any tips. What to do?

A:How did previous user assign special function to keyboard key?

Ie type microsoft and ctrl-enter and you get http ://www.microsoft.com

System is running XP Pro SP3.  I had just cleaned this system of malware which was causing dllhost.exe  to run multiple times and slow the system down to a crawl.  This is not the same machine as this one:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/515354/dllhostexe-appears-in-task-manager-multiple-times-restarts-when-killed/  which Broni helped me with recently.
Everything was fine for a few weeks, then I got a call saying it would not install Adobe Reader update - access denied.  I corrected that and a couple days later, I get a call that it gives the message in the topic title on startup and runs extremely slow trying to access internet.  It would eventually say the site could not be accessed.  It was so bad, I was unable to remote in.
I bought it in, booted in safe mode, did a system restore - no change.  I did a Malwarebytes scan - it found nothing.  I ran an ESET Online Scan - it too found nothing.
I tried restoring the ntuser.dat from repair, ut that made no difference.  The user logs in as administrator, so I created another admin account to process the copy.
I am able to get on the Internet from my location by manually setting tcp/ip settings.
Any help getting this resolved would be greatly appreciated.

Windows 2000 LDAP function could allow an attacker to change domain user passwords

Microsoft Windows 2000 with the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) server configured to support LDAP over SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) sessions could allow a remote attacker to change passwords for domain user accounts. This vulnerability occurs because a LDAP function that allows the modification of data does not check user permissions before performing tasks. An attacker could use this vulnerability to gain access to the domain with the privileges of other domain users, including possibly the domain administrator

well i bought viewsonic 22" HD lcd monitor and installed the nvidia drivers and all and also connected it through my DVI cable to my gefrce 8600GT but when i change the display to HD in the nvidia settings the resolution actually goes very low and the display looks really bad.....anything i havent done or i should be doing to enhance or get my full HD view on an 1680x1050 resolution??

A:nothing highly defined in HD

Did you make sure that the settings on the monitor are proper? Sometimes it won't auto detect and you'll have to tell the monitor (through it's own menus) what to do.

Laptop under warranty, including accidental damage, until spring, 2016.  Sent it for repairs...blotches on screen and keyboard failure 4 days ago.  Received it back today, july 10, w/ a note claiming device contains "biohardous material" and cannot ever be repaired by HP due to health danger to support techs.  What the hell sort of biohazard can a computer contain?  I'm elderly, live alone, keep the device on a table by itself.  There is no radioactivity within hundreds of miles of here.  I have NO health issues which would constitute a biohazard: early cataract, mild depression, occasional insomnia, high blood pressure.   What constitutes a biohazard so dangerous that a tech's health might be endangered?  I'm on a fixed income and cannot afford another computer.  I am at a total loss.  Is this some scam to avoid honoring a warranty on a not-too-popular device?  Please advise.  Thanks!

A:Biohazard Defined

Most likely tobbaco smoke (Nicotine)
