Q: y700-15ISK blue screen SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION ig...

So I bought this new laptop two weeks ago and now I've had 3 times this same blue screen error. It comes totally without warning, supposedly the reason is the Intel HD Graphics 530's driver which I am going to now clean install totally as it gives me this warning that the software hasn't been confirmed by the manufacturer or some crap. Really expected a lot more from Lenovo, this is now my 2nd laptop from them after I succesfully used up the last one (the power port started disconnecting, I guess too much damage from movement). I hope that this will fix it but otherwise I'm going to return this and buy some other product which works out of the box. Really outrageous that the product is defected by default. I expected more Lenovo, I expected more...

I got this laptop from Lenovo.com a month back and this is the second time it had creashed saying a SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION out oif nowhere. It's not that I have made this machine run at high loads either, it's just been regular light loads of photoshop and browsing and I thought I could use this $1300 machine for modelling and all. Truly disappointed with this kind of service after my first Thinkpad lasted for 6 years. I do have an extended waranty with accidental protection but I certainly hope that this issue can be fixed before I have to invoke it, since there is a hell lot of work I intend to complete before my graduation in the next few months. Hope the service people from Lenovo are there to help out.Thank you for your support, which I expect would not be as worse as this product.

A few weeks ago I bought a Lenovo Y700 15ISK with Windows 10 already preinstalled. I've noticed two main problems: the keyboard sometimes stops responding (this happens mainly when I am gaming, it happened firstly with Fallout 3 and then with Overwatch). When it happens I can't do anything but force shutting down the machine. It had been happening for a week or so, now it's been a while since it last occured. Second one, is that I keep on getting random BSODs while doing not much intensive activities. It's been happening once a day for two weeks now, and it's getting annoying. One thing that I can note, is that it's always happening while I'm surfing the web (Facebook, Youtube, etc). It has been preannunced once or twice by the screen blinking black for less than a second.The error message last time was "system_service_exception, igdkmd64.sys".If you need more information, just tell me.Thank you in advance.

Hi Everyone, I found 2 air bubbles in the top right corner of my Y700-15ISK's screen.First I thought that it was under the screen protecting foil but it rather seems to be under the glass.I have never seen such faulty display before. The problem occured on the very last day of the warranty period but I could file the claim only today, 2 weeks later when I realized that more bubbles appeared, now there 10 air bubbles.Now I wait for feedback from Lenovo. Is there anyone with such issue? So i tried to open my laptop today but all i get is a black screen, no mouse is working  neither the fan(they have a lot of dust) . The power on and  the battery leds are lighting whoever i dont have my charger on!!! It's only about  a Month old please help I tried the shift f8 way but it didn't work.

Can you be a little clearer with your issue. From what I can gather, you're having problems with the brightness of your screen f right? Most issues like yours can be fixed/managed in settings menu. Go to display and find the brightness that suits you. Hope this helps. This is the best I could come up with based on how you asked your question.

Hello, After few months i discovered that Lenovo Y700 has colors quality less than old TV screen. I discovered that when i connected my laptop to LED TV.Color calibration doesn't fix the issue. I heard there is an anti-reflection plastic on the screen which fade out the color. does anyone tried to remove the anti-glare film?Is the anti-glare film the problem?

I was going on a train, so i turned off my laptop to get it in my backpack. When i tried to boot it in the train, the screen was not turning on. It stayed like that. I've tried many things (battery drain, bios update and else) but it just doesn't work. I can plug in an external monitor an it is just fine. I'm just reminding you that the screen is OFF, it doesn't show anything through the bootup and in the windows. The external monitor is considered as a main one, and i can go to bios through it. I really don't know what happened, and i couldn't find any way to fix it in the internet. So i ask, do you know the problem ? If yes, then can i do something besides just sending it to service ? It looks like my warranty worn out january this year.

I wanted to buy the Y700 Touch-15ISK 80NW000YUS listed here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834331598&cm_re=lenovo_y700-_-34-331-598-_-Pro... and I wanted to know if the screen was matte or the glossy version covered with the anti-glare coating seen in other y700. I thought they were mostly glossy but I saw this video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOmVjyZazGo which seemed to show a newer model with a matte screen. And there aren't any websites that show you the type of finish.

Hi, The issue is not solved at all. I have Lenovo Y700 15ISK, today right aftetr a Win 10 update, got to this black screen issue. And ofcourse I tried installing Audio and updated BIOS (even though the BIOS version was 35 according to Utility Manager). None of the two packages helped. and Now I am trying to reset PC. Hi everyone, The right half of the screen of my new Y700-15ISK laptop is darker than the left half. I recently bought this laptop and I have two problems:1. Especially when the screen is black, there is a green light on the upper part of the screen. I don't know what causes it maybe a led or something is installed badly (it's a 5 cm² area). Should I take it back and ask for a new one?2. This problem is related to scaling. When it is set to 100%, everything is small but crystal clear. When at 150%, everything looks normal but some apps like Steam, BitTorrent... are blurry like they were just zoomed on. Reinstalling windows and drivers should solve this? Simply reinstalling drivers didn't help.Thanks!

I don't know anything about your first problem (it may be a hardware problem), but I do know something about the second. Some programs (Steam, for example) aren't made for high-dpi screens. for these programs that appear blurry, right click on their icon (on the desktop), and click properties. Under the compatibility tab, check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". This should work after you restart the program.

Hi,it's my first post here, so please don't shout at me. I've looked on the forum and I've found that there were more people with this problem. I looked on the solution, but they didn't solved my problem. Under this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rK7n2SJIDzU line is fully visible. Vsync option was on in the game as well as in the nVidia control panel. I've seen this line in more games, but in this one it always appears. When screenshot is taken, there is no line on it, so it's not badly drawn frame. Should I send it in for repairs under warranty? Thank you for any help.

Hello,I'd like to ask, if any of Y700 user faced same or similar problem, with orange/yellowish shade/tint on the screen?Problem started 3 months ago, it was a really hot weather outside, computer was working fine, and then after a few moments it appeard. I doub't that it was me, who damaged a screen, because i'm really gentle, when using it.I bought a notebook at the beginning of this year. It is still on a warranty. I already tried send on a warranty to a serivce for repair ( i think, company is called MEDION (at least for lenovo devices bought in Poland), but they send it back, with a reason that "they couldn't achive same problem in their test enviroment" which is really strange, because problem appears everytime notebook is working. Any suggestion what i can do? Should i send it back again on the warranty, hoping that this time, they will be able to see a defect? What was the root cause of a problem? I don't won't to leave it like that, because notebook wasn't cheap, and except a screen issue, notebook is amazing. But it is really hard and annoying to use it like that.Attached screens, look at the bottom right corner. Orange shade is most intense in this place. But you can see it also, througthru all the bottom and right edge.??Thank you for any advices.

Hello Guys i have a nice problem with my laptop (Almost 3 weeks old) I was eating my awesome lunch and when i came back the User interface was frozen and unresponsive, later on windows automatically gathered everything about the error and told me to reboot the computer. I rebooted my laptop and at some point of the boot it shows me "preparing automatic repairs", 20 seconds later it shows me the following picture;?  Note: i had to crop the image because the forum only allows 2MB for the images  I have tried the following options with the same resultI tried F8 Turned off the computer and then press the OneKey recovery system, so i can have a fresh start,1. The lenovo sign appears, and down the sign the circle that means "loading" appears going aroundSince it is a windows problem i went with microsoft, using this link Microsoft forum, But when the system was booting i had the same results (from 2 to 7)The result:2. Black screen but the lamp is on.3. waiting (3minutes)4. waiting (12 minutes)5. waiting (30 minutes plus a nice shower)6. I use the trackpad in order to see if there is any response from the computer. Back in September, I purchased a Y700-15ISK laptop, and up until about ten days ago I had no problems with it whatsoever. However, that changed when the screen started flickering intermittently. Initially, I wasn't too concerned, but when I turned my laptop on the following day, the problem became a lot more extreme. On this occassion, the screen flickered so wildly during the boot-up process, that I had great difficulty logging in. It was only after I'd rebooted my laptop several times, that it became stable enough to use normally. Over the next few days, the flickering became less frequent, but instead I started experiencing graphical glitching in the form of jagged little white lines which seemed to be triggered mainly by dark colours. Since then, I've had another awful session where the flickering has made my laptop unusable, and a couple more sessions where I've mainly been affected by the glitching. I regularly experience the glitching whilst the Lenovo logo is displayed during the boot-up process, and when I access the BIOS, so I assume I'm dealing with a hardware problem as opposed to a Windows 10 problem. Nevertheless, I did update my drivers, but this made no difference. The one thing I haven't tried is updating my BIOS. I'm still on CDCN28WW, but I'm aware that the latest version is CDCN52WW. The reason I'm hesitant to update is because the problems are usually at their worst when I boot-up or reboot ... Read more

I bought my Y700-15ISK on 24/06/16 and within an hour or so of use the screen went black and the computer didn't seem to respond to anything (except toggling the keyboard backlight with Fn-space). The computer itself did not shut down as indicated by the keyboard lights. This kept repeating itself several times at seemingly random intervals and the computer would only return to normal after a hard shut down by holding the power button and power back up again. I've seen several other complaints on the forums regarding this problem, one of which was tagged as solved and contained a broken link to Lenovo's solution. The following link was found elsewhere and seems to refer to the same problem: https://support.lenovo.com/il/en/documents/SF16-I0012 Though here the link for the BIOS update is broken (which is version 30 anyway, and the one on my computer is 34). Later I found a page on Lenovo's site cached by Google (original is dead) containing update 35 for this model's BIOS but it doesn't seem to install correctly and I still have version 34. I've also seen talk of update 35 causing trouble for other users. I've updated all relevant drivers as well and the computer is not heating up, running the fans loudly or acting strangely otherwise when this issue occurs. I have sent a message to Lenovo but will probably only get a response after the weekend. Yes, there is something wrong with this model. A lot of other people have had the same issue where the laptop will no longer boot after a long sleep or shutdown. There is a BIOS update that is being released sometime by the end of the month to fix this issue. I do not know if Lenovo has a USB flash function, but if they don't you should probably exchange for another or wait for the BIOS update, so that you can flash the new BIOS as soon as you get the replacement.

After about a day and a half of use, I decided to try attaching it to my External monitor (a 23" 1920x1080p monitor by Acer) which I had used with multiple other computers with no issues. As soon as I plug it in, my screen turns completely black. I waited a few seconds for something to happen, Nothing. Neither screen shows anything. I hook up my desktop to the same monitor, and it works fine.  I can hear sounds, like the sound of an Administrative confirmation, or a external device being plugged in. Therefore, I know the computer itself is still functional. However, I cannot get any image at all.  Things I have tried:Fn+F2 to check that the backlight was not turned off (Also flashed a light on the screen, and got nothing)Fn+F3 to try and see if I had the computer on external monitor only. This also showed nothing. Hard reboot (holding down power key): Nothing. Even the POST screen did not show.   I called Lenovo and they are taking forever as normal to do anything. Dear Friends,

Hope all is well.

I know generally a blue screen is not a good thing. I looked at a few reports on this and I decided I'd rather post this here than dub around trying things and possibly making things worst.

I booted the computer and did something else for a couple hours. When I came back there was the blue screen. I rebooted the computer and it is working fine.

A couple of things I feel worthy to mention as there has been some disagreements about this. I don't know if this has anything to do with this blue screen? But I have the ethernet cable connected and the wireless adapter in place as well. Some folks say you should have one or the other or they will conflict.

The other sort of odd thing is that Google Chrome seems to crash more lately..you get the Snap icon which requires you to restart your browser. It seems this may(?) happen more when I'm streaming a live broadcast.

As far as I know all the drivers are up to date and the computer is "clean."

What would you suggest I do at this point if anything?

I have been getting a number of blue screens lately, usually doing something like unplugging something that I couldn't turn off (like a webcam). Today I got one that made me concerned and wanted to try and get some help with. SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION caused my comp to blue screen and I'm not sure what or why it was caused.

Two days ago my computer started to freeze randomly along with hard disk stopping, but I can still do my normal work, so I didn't care too much about it. Today I got blue screen 3b system_service_exception after chkdsk which took a really long time, but safe mode is fine. I have no idea why all of this suddenly happened at once. Please help!

Hi, I have a problem with my computer.
When I left the game Team Fortress gave me a Blue Screen and this is the fifth time it happens. I ran the SF program.

I'm having this problem since the parts for my pc came in. First with Windows 8.1 and now with 7 aswell. I ran CPU and memory tests like prime95 and Memtest86 without any luck.

My drivers should be up to date, I downloaded the newest drivers in Asrock's website. The problem happens when I'm playing games, sometimes I can play for hours without any problems. At first I thought it was a hardware problem since the games would freeze without any blue screen but today after running the pc without problems with Windows 7 I got a BSOD.

Also, today for the first time I got the BSOD while browsing the web, before it always happened while I was playing a game.

I also found an old thread where the guy has the same problems as me, the screen would turn black for a few seconds and he also had the same RAM.

My specs:
Motherboard: Asrock Z75 Pro3
CPU: Intel i7 3770
RAM: Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600mhz
PSU: Corsair TX850
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
Graphics: Intel HD 4000 (I'm using my processor as graphics for now)

I ran two programs to analyze the dump files, WhoCrashed and Blue Screen View.

Hi! I often get a BSOD of [system_service_exception] 0x0000003B .
I use HD 6870 before have a same BSOD.I though it was video card hardware or ATI driver issue. ( I did use DriverSweeper to uninstall the driver and update a new ATI driver still no luck.) So I took the vidoe card out and replace a NVIDIA video card. A few days after, the same Blue screen appear...

PS: I still have a ATI driver on my computer but not the new version,
because my motherboard chipset need ATI diver to work.
(such AMD USB ,RAIDXpert and Promise SATA RAID ) .The driver I installed is form
Biostar webside.
If I uninstall it, It would case unable to boot , lose all USB port or something.

Any suggestion to get rid of this BSOD or Fixed it, Please help

The ATI/AMD motherboard chipset driver has nothing to do with the ATI driver for the video card and the problem still lies with the video cards driver. You have to be very careful using Driver Sweeper to not delete necessary drivers

You should never ever trust these kinda programs ever. It is fake. I've also tried that program before and it was fake.

Hmm, wait for the next BSOD and then post the new log. Next time attach the dump with an attachment in your post.

EDIT: Don't use BlueScreenView, it provides fake infomation. But when i saw your screenshots the dumps are unhelpful. Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours. Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

I have a Dell latitude E7440 running windows 8.1. I have it on a dell Port plus replciator.  Over the past three days i have receiveed a BSOD with the message system_service_exception igdkmd64.sys at least nine time. Mostly when coming back from the screensaver.  I went to the Intel site to check the drivers for my Graphics card and dell site to check motherboard and BIOS. Also up to date. Not sure what to do.
