Internet Exlorer windows bouncing back and forth

Q: Internet Exlorer windows bouncing back and forth

Hello, everyone, and thank you for any assistance you can provide with this issue. I searched for an answer using Google and the TG search function, but the issue is inherently difficult to search for, as it brings up a lot of off-topic results. If this has been asked and answered, a link to the answer would be appreciated, thanks again.

When working on my computer, I practice a sort of extreme mult-tasking - that is, I usually have numerous Office & PDF programs open and more specifically 3-4 IE browser windows at any given time.

I frequently click to a new page, or action, on one page, then switch back to Word, or to another window in the meantime while that page downloads, even if this only takes a second or two - that's a couple of seconds I could be doing something else.

IE does not seem to cooperate in this regard, however, in that I will often find myself unwillingly dragged back to a browser window, when the page has finished downloading, when there is activity there, PW request, etc. Is there any way to prevent IE from switching windows on me against my will, so that I will only be on the browser window I choose and never be dragged back to an old window, regardless of what is going on there?

I am using IE7; however, the same thing happened with my earlier IE6.

I have cable Internet, but I am also using a old and slow computer - will an upgrade solve this?

If so, given my penchant for mult-tasking, is a dual core processor the way to go?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Welcome, LAEsquire.

I think the word you're looking for is "focus." You click on a certain window to get the focus there. Then some other application or window wants your input or wants you to see a message and it grabs the focus (and you find yourself typing into thin air!).

I know of no way to change this operation. Maybe there is a registry tweak.

Since this is a general Windows feature I suggest that you click on the red triangle and ask a moderator to move this thread to the Windows XP forum, where you are more likely to find an expert who knows about this.

This morning emails I am sending to hotmail accounts I use every day are being bounced back with the message :"550 SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems." There is nothing different from usual about the eemails I am sending. What is going on please?

A:Windows Live Hotmail suddenly bouncing back emails

Hi Aroominyork, it is possible the mail server you use for sending mail has been added to a black list which is now causing you issues.

You need to find the IP of your SMTP server (which you can find probably in the returned emails), if not then copy and paste the contents of one of the returned emails here and we should be able to find it.

When you have the IP, try typing it in here and see what results you get.

Hi... I'm in help desk in my company. We're having an issue with emails sent to Hotmail, they're being rejected. Microsoft answered, via website:

"Welcome to Microsoft Community. We understand how important for you to be able to send an email to Microsoft accounts from your domain account.

You need to get in touch with the Microsoft Sender Support Team. They have to fill out the e-form that can be found on the following link to solve your issue with the error code 550 SC-002 where your emails sent from your domain to Microsoft Account rejected for policy reasons.

If you are the 3rd party Domain Administrator:

Please review our policies and guidelines at http://postmaster.live.com.
If you are in compliance, submit a support request to our Email and Delivery Filtering Services team by clicking on the link to the e-form under the troubleshooting section in the postmaster site mentioned above.

Let us know if you have further questions.

Thank you. "

... but the problem is that mails sent to Gmail are being rejected too... So I suppose that our servers are being considered as spammers, for the time being, for some reason. Is there a workaround to this without having to contact either Hotmail or Gmail? That's dealing with obnoxious bureaucrats... if you ever can get a hold of them...

Hi!,

This is a new one for me.

I NOTICED I WAS NOT RECEIVING BOUNCED BACK, "MESSAGE DELIVERY FAILURE" OR SIMILAR INCORRECT OUTBOUND E-MAIL MESSAGES COMING BACK THAT I ADDRESSED INCORRECTLY.

Comcast 6 Mps is my ISP.
Windows XP Professional
Outlook 2003.
Only recent new software within last month when this started happening is IE v.7.beta 2.
I FIRST NOTICED THIS WITH SOME PERSONAL E-MAIL DISTRIBUTION LISTS IN WHICH I HAD NOT CLEANED OUT A COUPLE "BAD" E-MAIL ADDRESSES THAT CONTINUALLY CAME BACK AS UNDELIVERABLE. THEN, MORE RECENTLY, I FURTHER CONFIRMED THIS WHEN I NOTICED THAT INCORRECTLY ADDRESSED E-MAILS FOR MY BUSINESS E-MAIL ADDRESS (A POP3 THAT I USE WHEN I WORK OUT OF HOME SOMETIMES) WERE NOT COMING BACK AFTER I REALIZED I INCORRECTLY ADDRESSED AN OUTBOUND E-MAIL ADDRESS.

THEN, FINALLY, I TESTED VARIOUS INCORRECT OUTBOUND E-MAIL ADDRESSES TODAY FOR BOTH MY PERSONAL AND BUSINESS E-MAIL ADDRESSES AND NONE OF THE DELIBERATELY, INCORRECTLY ADDRESSED OUTBOUND E-MAIL ADDRESSES WERE BOUNCING BACK TO ME. [ I ALSO HAD AN ASSOCIATE IN ANOTHER STATE, NON-COMCAST USER SEND OUT SOME OF THE INCORRECT OUBOUND E-MAIL ADDRESSES AND HE DID GET THEM BOUNCED BACK TO HIM] THE LATEST INCORRECT OUTBOUND E-MAIL ADDRESS I TESTED FOR BOTH MY PERSONAL '[email protected]' AND BUSINESS OF '[email protected]' IS '[email protected]'

I'm lost on this one and Comcast is, well, Comcast.

Help!

Thanks.

JHH

I've been trying to find a solution to the problem and it led me here. However my problem isn't the same as the firefox 'bouncing' problem already mentioned in this forum.

Example:
When viewing hotmail I can visit my inbox but when i try to view any messages I get a very brief glimpse of the message before it bounces me back to the inbox.
With other sites it often just refreshes the page if i click on any avenues within the site.

I tried deleting cookies via the toolbar cos that sorts out some problems.

I only got to this forum through explorer (yuk).

I apologise if this is a question that has already been answered but my problem isn't very easily searchable through keywords.

A:Firefox keeps bouncing back to a previous page.

...also revisiting a tab in firefox causes that page to refresh. Not really a problem but displaying all the symptomes will help in diagnosing the problem.

I also tried re-installing firefox. That didn't work.

Please, any thoughts on this, it's driving me up the wall.

Hey everyone, I have been trying to play a few games on my laptop recently, and I've noticed the oddest thing. Take Dungeon Siege 2 for example; I start the game up, graphics are set to high, and the game runs smooth as butter. About 5 minutes go by and then I hit a massive lag spike, my frame-rate drops from 40 to 10. This lasts for about another 5minutes then... its back to being smooth again? It will keep doing this switch back and forth constantly. The game only uses about 400mb of ram, and even when its being laggy, lowering the graphics to bare-bones doesn't make the slightest difference.

I tried setting the core affinity to 1, 2 or both, that doesn't seem to make anything better. I tried raising the app priority, but vista keeps reseting it i think. And oddly, by minimizing the game and waiting about 30seconds, the game will go back to being smooth again.
What is going on??

Specs:
Vista Home Premium
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
2046MB RAM

When doing a Google search for your particular problem, you will find about 1,920,000 hits on this particular complaint. What works for one person may not work for another. What security programs are you using? Some of them like Spybot S&D offer features that will lock Internet Options. If you are using Spybot, launch the program, click on Mode, select Advanced, go to Tools > IE Tweaks > and uncheck "Lock IE control panel". My first guess would be that you have 4 tool bars running.

Most toolbars try to cache links on the page "In Case" you may want to see them and they will load faster.
I think that you may be having a conflict with them all trying to do the same thing at one time.

I would pick the one that you like and turn the rest off.

- first: my maternal language isn't English so, I'll do my best to clarify myself -

I had a NEW trojan horse a couple of weeks ago on my pc, he said he was a virus scanner and he infected a lot. Since then on, internet explorer doesn't work any more, with 'doesn't work' I mean: I can open it, it works but he says he had no connection to the internet. But when I open Firefox, it works fine. Because he says he has no connection, my sidebar, msn messenger and itunes store can't connect to the internet.

I really hope somebody has an answer to my problem.

Thanks in advance (:
Sophie

With other browsers will work OK but IE not.

Anyone knows why?

A:Internet Exlorer will not open Comcast mail or my AT&T account

I recently discovered my wife's laptop couldn't play Utube videos any more in IE (not the usual & common problem, this was something that kept blocking it). I checked the IE version and saw that it was only IE7 so I updated it. Problem solved.

So you might want to try updating it if it's not already the current version (IE9).

Everytime I get on the internet (explorer or firefox) my screen bounces up and down! It started yesterday and I do not know what is going on but it is giving me a headache. What could be the problem here?

A:internet screen in bouncing...

I've had this happen on my laptop where the touchpad is stuck in lock and drag mode. I have also seen this happen with my desktop when the autoscroll button is enabled yet it doesn't seem to disable itself.

I'm not sure how you define bouncing though. My symptoms are more of a jiggling effect. But it does drive me crazy when it happens.

Hello, All:

Yesterday I was infected with the Internet Security XP malware from this page:
hxxp://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-system/how-can-i-fix-vista-internet-security-2012-error/c3fb62ff-3a9d-41db-8485-6d00df1f7139

I immediatly renamed my copy of malwarebytes to explorer, launched it, and ran a scan. It found a few things so I had it fixed and did a reboot. Afterwards I couldn't get XP to load. It goes to the loading screen and then restarts all over again. I can't even get the machine to load into safemode with networking. It WILL load into safemode without networking, but that's it. I ran malwarebytes again in safemode and it found a couple more errors. I had those fixed, rebooted again into safemode, and did another scan. This time it came up clean, but I still cant load in normal mode or safemode with networking. I ran the malwarebytes scan a couple more times and it still keeps coming up with nothing.

I also tried system restore after all of this, but it wouldn't work. Still did more scans with malwarebytes. Still found nothing.

Any ideas?

The thread title pretty much says it all:
Windows 7, user was unable to get to most websites. Malwarebytes scan came up clean. Ran Combofix...it started out okay, the user then called me back and said he logged on after Combofix said it was completed; and he just has a large blue box that is bouncing around... Unable to end the process in Task manager. The user can open programs (like Outlook) but the blue box is preventing him from doing anything.
Unable to login as local admin (system is locked down) and he is a home user, so not even able to get to him thru the normal corporate LAN.
We managed to get it to repair mode, but even after allowing it to repair 3 times, still no good.

Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas?

Hi there,
I recently got a virus on my main computer, and as I have partitioned my hard drive I decided to simply wipe the C drive and reinstall windows there, keeping all of the files on the other drives. This worked ok, and I managed to install the drivers for the video/sound card etc, but I cant get internet for some reason.

Current setup:

Motorola sb5100 modem, with Belkin router.

My laptop is getting the signal fine (this is what I'm using now), but the main computer cant seem to recognize any network devices. I tried downloading drivers for the modem, but they don't work when I try and install them. I unzip the "Drivers" and get 4 tiny netmotcm files that I cant do anything with.

Hey, all. :)

When I go into Windows Explorer and right click on a file there tends to be a 15+ second delay for the menu popping up. The same is true when I try and delete a file (be it the delete key alone or Shift+Del).

I went into the registry and edited my right click menu, because I thought that may have been the cause. There are only 2 programs as well as the default windows options in the right click menu now, but I still have the same problem.

It seems to only happen the first two or three times, and it's only with Deleting and the Right Click menu.

Anyone have any thoughts on what it could be?

Thanks!
