X1 Yoga: Cannot adjust Trackpoint or Touchpad speed in Lenovo Settings in Windows 10

Q: X1 Yoga: Cannot adjust Trackpoint or Touchpad speed in Lenovo Settings in Windows 10

So I have the updated Window 10 Home and Lenovo Settings Ver. 3.169.0.0. It doesn't allow me to adjust Trackpoint or Touchpad speed when I go to the tab "Input". Both speeds are kept lowest and I cannot scroll the bars at all. What I can do is go to Synaptics Control Panel to adjust the speeds. However every time I open the laptop again after Sleep or Reboot, the speeds go back to lowest again. Please help me solve this issue. Thanks!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

After switching to tablet mode in Windows 10, the touchpad and trackpoint are both disabled. I tried disabling and re-enabling it in the BIOS, no effect. Tried updating to the latest ELAN driver, no luck... in fact, there's no option for enabling / disabling the touchpad in the dialog box, and the ELAN dialog box is just a big blank. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling all Lenovo drivers; no luck. I saw some suggestions that I should disable some sort of Intel sensors in the BIOS, but I couldn't find those settings.  Suggestions?

Trackpoint on Yoga 12 is working at Windows 10 login screen, but immediately upon logging in to Win 10, the mouse pointer disappears (when using only built-in trackpoint/touchpad). The 'additional mouse settings' reveal the Thinkpad tab and the settings for trackpoint/trackpad, but they are greyed out and not active. Adding a USB mouse brings back the mouse pointer and then the pointer responds to the external device normally. Remove the USB device, and the mouse pointer is unresponsive to trackpoint input. I downloaded and installed most recent synaptics trackpoint driver from Lenovo. Now running driver v. 19.3.4.90. How can I re-enable the trackpoint?Windows is up to date.

I solved this issue by re-installing the latest Lenovo driver, but AFTER I uninstalled the existing driver. I had previously installed the same latest driver without uninstalling the existing driver, and that did not resolve the problem. Apparently installing the new driver only works if the prior driver is first uninstalled.

Hi I experience differences in the scrolling speed across software programs e.g. windows pathfinder as compared to Spotify or Stata in Windows 10. In fact, it goes anoyingly fast when working with .do-files in Stata or when I scroll my songs in Spotify. I have to use the arrow keys or PgUp/PgDn which requires a click on the right window to be activated. So, could you please help to solve this issue? Indeed, I find that changing the two-finger scrolling on the touchpad trough Elan Smart-Pad works in google chrome but just not very well in say Spotify, hence this new thread. BestJohan

Hi everyone. I have tried searching here and on Google for a solution and can?t find anything for Yoga 710-15IKB owners. My touchpad and trackpoint disables after short usage. Max working time is about an hour, typically much less. Sometimes the keyboard has some delay but usually it works fine. The touchscreen works always. Occastinally the pointers come back for a while. So far I have tried:- Updated everything possible from Lenovo support page- Updated BIOS- Removed Synaptics driver 19.3.4.202. It reinstalled automatically.- Uninstalled every software I could- Disabled startup programs- Compared processes, memory and CPU from task manager when workin and during the issue- Reinstalled Windows- Checked that a bluetooth USB mouse works fine- There is no difference if running on battery or with a cord- Disabled either the touchpad or the trackpoint Seems to me like a driver issue. One anomaly in the drivers. The installed driver 19.3.4.202 date says 16.1.2018 but the support page gives the date 8.2.2018 for the same version.

Hi All,in the last days i performed a bios upgrade for an issue that now is solved: sometime when i powered on my Yoga 260 only with battery - fully charged - it didn't switch on.....it needed to feel the AC plugged in just for a minute (and than plugged it off), to let me switch on the laptop with battery.  After the Bios Upgrade (N1GET84W 1.63 - 21/12/2017), everythings seems to work properly except for Touchpad/Trackpad: Uefi Bios is correctly configured with the two field of Touchpad and Trackpoint "Enabled"I upgraded all driver of my laptop from Windows Update and from Lenovo Support web page (also checked from Lenovo Vantage app)Under "Mouse Settings" the Touchpad/Trackpoint settings are enabledMouse Settings                    My O.S.: Windows 10 Pro - Versione: 10.0.16299 - Build: 16299 I searched on forum and on internet but i found similar issues with no solutions that worked for me. Any idea about it? Best regards to all and Happy New Year!

The touchpad on my Gateway ML 6228 laptop (running Windows Vista Home Basic) is too sensitive and it's driving me crazy. I've spent a long time looking and I can't find any way to adjust it. I've looked at Mouse settings in Control Panel, which only has stuff about an external PS2 mouse (which I'm not using at all) and I've looked in Device Manager - "Mouse and other pointing devices" and it also only has settings for an external mouse. I'd really like to adjust the settings rather than having to switch to using an external mouse. Any suggestions?

I was having responsiveness issues with the trackpad for a while, then, i open my laptop one day and it's completely unresponsive, as well has the backlit keyboard not working (the hotkey still pops up that it's "lighting up" the keyboard, but no actual lights) and the trackpoint being completely unresponsive too. I've tried:- Restarting computer- Using Lenovo's various "fixing" softwares- Looking for a keyboard firmware shortcut for enabling/disabling trackpad, (doesn't exist on this computer)- Re installing drivers (Ultranav driver refuses to install manually, "driver installation failed")- Booting on a non microsoft OS (Booted on a linux Mint installation and it still doesn't work)- Booting into BIOS and looking for "enable/disable trackpad option", That option does not exist for me.- Opening up computer and checking the physical connection, All plugged in fine. When i open the device manager in windows there is no entry for the mouse whatsoever. The touch screen and the pen both work fine. I think it all points towards a hardware issue, i can pick up another trackpad on ebay for pretty cheap, but obviously i'd like to make sure that it would actually solve the issues.  The major confusion for me is that why would faulty trackpad hardware stop the backlit keyboard from lighting up? How are the two linked? Any ideas appreciated, Thanks!

As stated in the title my Trackpoint is causing my cursor to drift to the right side of the screen. It only does this whenever I physically pick up the laptop or bend the right corner of the palmrest. I've tried to rule out any software related issues by updating the OS to the latest Windows Build, updating BIOS to 1.13, drivers for UltraNav. Once I realized none of this worked I rolled the BIOS back to 1.12 and restored the unit but it is still happening. If I turn off the Trackpoint in Control Panel -> Mouse the issue stops. I do not remember this happening when I first opened it. Any idea as to what is causing it? Thanks!

This issue is caused by a windows 10 upgrade.  The touchpad is unresponsive if the laptop is woken from sleep mode.  The touchscreen, keyboard, and rest of the machine function normally.  The touchpad works normally if I restart or hard reboot the machine.  This was not an issue prior to the windows 10 upgrade and is not an issue if I uninstall that upgrade.  Is there a fix so I don't have to uninstall windows 10?

I seem to be having issues finding more extensive settings for my new Yoga 710 - there are some settings under Mouse Properties > Device Settings > Synaptics Clickpad V1.6 on SMB Port > Settings but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of setting areas of the trackpad. There are two things that I want to achieve: 1. Enable scrolling by scrolling on the right hand side of the touchpad (single finger scroll) 2. Disable the touchpad where the left/right click buttons are. I often hover over these buttons and it disables/moves the mouse - I need them to function as buttons, not as a trackpad/button combo (also can make clicking and dragging awkward?). Thanks heaps

I'm using Windows 10 and I can't find any settings for the touchpad. When I run Lenovo Settings, the only touchpad-related setting I have is to turn the touchpad on or off. When I go to All Settings in Windows, there is just a Mouse option (not Mouse & Settings as I see on many other people's screenshots). When I use Control Panel to go to Mouse, there are just the standard mouse settings - nothing related to a touchpad. And I'm very happy with the way my mouse is working so I don't want to tweak any of its settings. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Using the laptop on battery, when I press on F11-12, the brightness meter is shown on the upper left like usual, but it won't move up or down.  Yet I think it's strange that all other places I can adjust brightness are fine, and especially strange that everything is working totally fine on AC power.
I tried uninstalling the Generic PnP monitor and reinstalling, but to no results.  Also, both my power settings on battery and on power indicate no adaptive brightness.

I've looked around for a solution to my problem and haven't found one, so sorry if this is a repeat post.  I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, running Windows10.  I am still under warranty, so sending it in is an option, but I'm a student and not having my laptop for an extended period of time would be incredibly inconvenient.  I don't have any other issues with my laptop. About 5 months ago, the touchpad on my computer just stopped working.  No response to anything.  I downloaded the latest drivers, installed them and restarted, and still nothing.  I did some more research and tried to follow advice, but ran into what I think is the root of the problem.  When I tried to see if my touchpad was enabled in Settings, only my wireless mouse is listed.  I looked further and found that my touchpad doesn't show up in 'Device Manager' under the 'Mice and Other Pointing Devices' subsection. I'm not particularly techie, but am willing to try anything to regain functionality.  It's an inconvenience to have to either use the touchscreen or carry around my mouse all the time.  Any pointers down the right road towards fixing this (and not having to have it serviced) would be grealy appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

Hello,i have a problem with the touchpad of my Yoga 460 ultrabook. Unfortunately, it has a little but annoying difference from my ultrabook (T450) at work. With the T450: When I use two fingers to scroll down or up, I can remove one finger from the touchpad and it still is in "scroll mode" while only one finger is on the touchpad. This is shown by the fact, that when i put the finger back on the touchpad, I can continue scrolling. With my Yoga 460: When i remove one finger while letting the other on the touchpad, the "scroll mode" is interrupted and i cant continue scrolling immediately. I haventīt found any option from windows or my preinstalled Elan smart pad options.Does someone know a solution for this? Best regardsDejan V.
