Hi all. I think this is an auto complete thing...

I have been logging into my email accounts via webmail for years via the same url. I have four different email accts, and when I load the page, I simply dbl-click in the email field, and I see all four addresses. If I click on one, the pwrd auto-fills, and I am good to go.

My host recently swapped me to another server, and I now have to access my webmail via a different url. I go to that url, and there are no email address there when I dbl-click in the email field. Ok, no biggie. I enter the first address and pwrd, and log in. Windows does not ask me if I want to save the username and pwrd. Weird. I log out, and log into the other three one by one, and with each, I am prompted to save the username and pwrd, which I do. I log out of the fourth one, and then attempt to log back into the first - which I can do, but Windows again does not prompt me to save the username and pwrd. I have rebooted twice, and each time I log in to that specific email, I just log in - no prompt. And that email is not in the email field when I arrive at the log in page.

Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on?

That's a nice explanation, but, what the heck webmail and browsers are you using??

If you're using IE, see: Internet Explorer AutoComplete - Turn On or Off for settings.
Since your Host changed servers that first addy may have to be placed in a trusted zone.
There's the possibility with the transfer of servers, the new server still thinks that, that first addy is already saved.
It could be the new server doesn't recognize a security certificate for that addy.
If browser settings are okay, I'd check with your Host.

And please; It would be very helpful if you would fill out your System Specs, you can use the tool included in the Tutorial here: System Info - See Your System Specs just read through the tutorial, use one of the downloads, and it will automagically fill them in for you.

Running Visa Home 32 bit on a laptop, using Windows Mail/Outlook. The email address auto complete was working then all of the sudden it stopped. Now it will auto complete only email addresses that a message was sent to in the last 24 hours. I checked the settings and they are correct, it should be auto completing. I tried going in and deleting the reg key for that, no help. I restored it. I personally don't use Vista, this is for the bosses wife, so I don't know a lot about what else to do. I have had to reinstall pc due to it going at a crawl!!

After installing Outlook 2002, I can not get Outlook to auto fill the email address field when I start to type an email address in it.

The address book is there and in tacked after copying the outlook.pst file back to its original location after install.

How do I get Outlook to autofill?

Also when I click the 'TO' button in the new email window, it says that there is no address book!
but when I click the address book icon in the main Outlook window there are email address there?!

Any ideas how I can get this to work correctly again.

When you did the re-install, did you erase/format the hard drive before the re-install? If you did and did not save the Outlook auto fill file, then the all the auto fills you had are gone. Did you import the pst file into outlook?

After I started using Outlook.com, I noticed that I entered an email address incorrectly in my contacts. I changed it and then later I deleted the whole contact and re-entered the address, but when I use 'Reply' to that email, Outlook.com sends it to the original wrong address and I get the non delivery message. The email is delivered correctly when I use 'New Mail' to send it.

I've always had my email addresses in outlook auto complete themselves (the email address is in the contacts folder), but now it won't any more, since I had to re-establish outlook again after a reinstall. I can't find where to turn this feature on. what I mean is, if the address is, say, [email protected], then all I type is pet...and it completes.

Is there anyone out there that can help me?

I've recently got a new laptop - it has windows 7.

I need to transfer my email contacts from my old computer to the new laptop - I use it for business and I have hundreds of email addresses that have always auto-completed (if you get what I mean).

Outlook on the new laptop doesn't auto complete the email addresses.

I've done a google search for help and I've found this link (VERY USEFUL!)

BUT it doesn't work - the files on windows 7 are different to I can't complete the last stage.

Are you sure your doing it correct ? I've just tried it from my Vista lappy and copied it on to my Win7 rig (different user accounts) and it worked fine.

Make sure you copy it from

C:\Documents and Settings\oldname\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

to

C:\Documents and Settings\newname\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

substitute red text with the correct names

I have a situation where someone has 2 email addresses. One of them is now redundant and I have deleted it from the People section. However, when I am set to make a new email to that person and type the first letter of their name, in the pop up window (that you can click on) their old email address still appears.
How do I delete this from that list? Can find no way to do so.

In new email, start typing the address you want to remove. When you have enough characters for auto complete to show it (sometimes one letter is enough), use DOWN ARROW key on keyboard to select the address in question and press DEL key.

We are been unable to send emails from our work email to outside addresses. (Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, etc.)

My Network guy is MIA and I don't know what to do or who to call.

I have OE 6

I have one email address (I use a lot) that always comes up as cm (after yahoo.com) instead of "com" like it should.

I noticed this because email would come back when sent. I thought I had mistyped it, but it was in the address book correctly.

I've tried to change this, deleted it and put it in again, edited it, putting in the correct word (com) and saving it as default. Even tried putting it in with a new nickname for the person.

When I start putting the email address in, and it auto fills in, it still puts "cm" instead of "com" on the end of it.

I have to type it all in by hand, or let it auto fill and go over it, putting the "o" in com.

When I look in the address book it says "com" like it's supposed to, and says it's the person's default email (in my address book)

How can I fix it so it comes up correctly?

I seem to have the strangest problems....

In our village in Spain, we have a very dodgy wireless internet access system, run by a company called NijarNet that is very difficult to communicate with - partly a language problem and partly because their customer service is dreadful. I have 13 clients with accounts here (I'm a management agent), and I manage these for them - they are all either wifi or wimax which pick up the signal from various antennae in the area. One such client was having no problem until something called Spamcop blocked his emails. Since then, he is unable to send emails from his 02 account, although he can send from his gmail account with no problem. He can receive on both accounts. O2 says it's not their problem, but that I must talk to the provider (which I have tried to do but they deny it's their problem and can't/won't give any advice on what the problem might be). I reckon it's something fairly simple that I might be able to sort myself, maybe a setting on the router? Can you offer any advice? He's tried it on several different laptops, devices etc with no luck. Any advice would be gratefully received.

The Outlook feature that automatically suggests email addresses as I begin to type in an address in email is not including many addresses that are no longer current. For example, when I try to send a message to my wife, it offers a list of six addresses, four of which are obsolete. I cannot find the file that contains these addresses to edit it. The various manuals speak of .wab files, but a search produces none. The only .pst file I can find doesn't contain the address list. Anybody know how to solve this one, I hope? BTW I am using XP and Outlook 2002.

I'm using Outlook 2003 and have multiple email accounts. I just switched the default email account. However, when I send someone an email it says it is from the old default email address. I've looked at the properties of my new default account and no where in there does it mention this older email account. Outlook clearly is showing that the email is going out on my new default email account but the reply to email or the from portion is from another email account. Any suggestions?

When a friend sends an email from his BT Webmail account, those in receipt of the email see his email address as ******@btinternet.com in the 'From" part of the header. However, when clicking on "Reply" (in my case Outlook 2010) the outgoing address is chanced to *******@outlook.com. Initially he used to open his BT Webmail account using the Microsoft Edge browser and so I changed his default browser to Google Chrome and accessed his BT Webmail account from Chrome to see if that made any difference - but it did not.

His computer has been scanned (and my computer has too) with Avast! and Malwarebytes and no malware has been found. So, I am at a loss to understand why this is happening. Can anyone out there help?

I am new to windows 8 and am unable to find any settings or anything. I was setting up the computer for the wife and put in the wrong email address which is for someone completely different than her just happen to share first name. so they have the confirmation email instead of us. how can we get this confirmation email / change that email address to hers as I have changed it on the microsoft page as navigated to from the store but when entering the store it still has the wrong email address there and won't let us download. I found the solution to the problem myself and it may be useful for anyone else with the same problem. There was a "reply to" setting on his BT Webmail account that was set to "*******@outlook.com. This email address was removed and that fixed things.

An organisation I'm in received an unsolicitied email from a media company which looks like a circular, asking the user to check out their videos etc.

The strange thing is, the email's "To" field contains a name that has not been publicly associated with the organisation - in fact, the user it is addressed to doesn't use the internet, and hasn't got an email address, and never has had one.

My question is, how would this work? Did the sender have to fill out the name manually into the "To" field? Or is there any other explanation?

The email address that received the email is hushmail.

Seting up my Windows Account on a new Windows 8.1 PC I entered an incorrect email address. Towards the end of the setup I was told to check my emails for the code needed to complete the setup process. Clearly I can't find the code because I gave an incorrect email address. Running Windows 2000, Office 2000 Professional.

I would like to turnoff global underline of a string containing "@" - making it a eMail link.

I can do this by using ' at beginning of string, but I don't want to do this everytime.

Is this possible ?

For now, all I have to offer is to use a table in Word instead. Even in Word, however, you'll have to go to Tools-Autocorrect, Autoformat as you type tab and remove the checkmark from the urls thingee.

When you're done, you can copy/paste back into Excel.

Alternatively, you could do everything else, copy/paste into Word, do the hyperlink column and copy/paste back into Excel.

I was just in my hotmail account forwarding an e-mail, when I clicked the "To:" button in order to add multiple contacts. Then I noticed something unusual. Firstly, one e-mail address was listed who I had previously blocked and deleted. Secondly, under the "name" of this address was not listed the actual name of the unwanted individual, but my own name which I go by for all my e-mail accounts.

I came out of the e-mail and when to my Contacts list but the blocked/deleted address bearing (weirdly) my own name was nowhere to be found.

I'm really worried and scared now, as this person may have been stalking me online - back in January whilst online I was suddenly told that I had "logged in on another computer", when I had not, and when I logged back in and changed my password, under my Profile, all the information such as my date of birth, location, etc, had been changed to read this guy's information. I'm worried that this contact who only showed up when I was trying to forwards an e-mail and nowhere in my contact list, and for some weird reason listed as my own name, is some sort of evidence that I am still being hacked. Back when I knew this guy he did claim to know people who could hack forums, e-mail accounts, and could really mess them up.

I work for a Non-profit organization and receive many emails. I was used to "Outlook Express" which automatically added all incoming email addresses to my address book.

But, apparently Outlook 2010 does not offer that option, or it's a complex process.

When trying to email to a specific internal email account, my email leaves my system and
does not arrive at the destination account. The destination account also happens to be the "administrator" and the email does get to the administrator email account. Any ideas?

Hello.
I've just found a pst file with all my old email. I'd like to put them back on the server (hotmail) but before doing that I've seen that some of them were not recived (or sent) to my actual address (@hotmail.com) but to an old one (@infinito.it). So I was thinking to export them from outlook 2013 to CSV, modify that address into the new one and then import them back on outlook 2013. The problem is that when I export them to CSV, in that file they don't have the date (received or sent) and so when I get them back on outlook 2013 they miss that info.
Can anyone help me doing this? I've been told that VBA macro should be useful for this, but having a look in it I have no idea of what I sould do.
Ah, instead of outlook 2013 I can also use thunderbird (45.3.0) if it's easier with it, but then I'd have to convert that pst file.

I'll bet you have not heard this one before. I was attempting to send an email to a potential client. Everything seemed to work well except that it was returned. The problem was that the address was changed somewhere. His name is spelled with a j but somewhere along the line, it was changed to a k and so there was no such person and therefore was returned to me.

Hi

Is there some way of moving all messages from my hotmail account to another email address? So when I emails are sent to my hotmail address they are then sent to my other email address, (then deleted from hotmail).
Is there a program that can sit on the desktop that is always checking hotmail, and when a email is recieved it is then sent to another email address? (this address is not a hotmail address).

Any possibilities??

Short story. Moved to another state, got new email address, went to change to new email address in usrcp.
Followed instructions, then everything went cattiwampus.

Using the KISS method, I ONLY want to change from orig email addr to new one. Everything else stays the same.

Can you explain the acronym usrcp, and cattiwampus is what makes me think phishing ploy. Run your panda product and see what shows up.

'Boopme' had me run MiniToolBox and he wrote that he found "errors and other issues" and he bumped me to this thread.
 
Norton now seems to be removed and the restart was successful w/ out a restore.
 
This is what I wrote in under the from "Am I infected?" thread;
 
 

Been having problems with my laptop running Vista Home premium svc pack2.
One day, a month ago, Norton was not updating properly. Upon the next boot-up windows would not start and I was forced to restart in safe mode with a system restore. This was successful but Norton Security Suite was still not updating properly.
Since then, on a few occasions, I have attempted to uninstall Norton without success thru the program uninstaler. Norton is unresponsive. I even got the Norton rep. to do a remote deletion of all registry files of Norton. But they all returned after the reboot of my PC because windows would not open and I had to start-up thru system restore.
Since then my yahoo email been hacked and spam sent to the contacts of my address book.
I know I got something but I don't know what.. Can anyone take a stab at what I might need to do?

I have a word document that includes a form the user must fill in. I want to create a button that will do all of the following:
1. Update all fields
2. Attach the updated word document to an email
3. Enter an address I have stored in the macro into the To field of the email.

I have one module which does the first part:

I found that if I add this to the before End Sub it attaches the updated Word document to an email:

However, I can't figure out how have it put a specific address into the To field of the document.

So I tried another tact. I have the email address as a hyperlink in the document, and set a bookmark at the hyperlink. Then I created a module that will go to the bookmark and open the hyperlink. However, this will not add the document as an attachment:

My Great-Uncle has Windows 98se. He uses the newest Netscape and recently clean out his inbox using the Netscape email program. For one reason or another he had un-installed the email client and now he doesn't have any access to his emails or address book. I know nothing about Netscape because I haven't used it in like, years.

Is there anyway to obtain the emails or the address book from the Netscape email application after it is un-installed?

When I got BellSouth DSL years ago I had Outlook email account set up with BellSouth as outgoing and old domain as incoming so I could keep my email address from another domain. It worked fine until a year or so ago I had to add another account just for BellSouth and that worked fine.

Within last few weeks emails from my email address (old domain) would not send. I've been through it with ATT tech several times to no avail.

It seems that ATT has trapped me out and does not want me to be able to keep my old email.

There's bound to be a way to set up my email accounts so my outgoing email from my other ISP provider will send through BellSouth without changing my very old and reliable email address.

Also, I recently have acquired my own domain name and I fear emails from that email address will suffer the same fate.

I hope this is not too long, but PLEASE HELP if you can.

If your BellSouth e-mail service is provided by Yahoo, then you probably need to go through a registration and authentication process for each e-mail address you want to send through a non BellSouth/Yahoo mail server. At least that is what I had to go through as an SBC/ATT DSL customer. They claim that they do the blocking to prevent from originating from users within their network.

I have been unable to insert an address from my Yahoo email address book for some time now and I have decided to ask for help.

All I am doing is opening Yahoo mail and trying to compose a new email to send to someone who is already in my contacts. When I click "to:" or "insert address" my address book shows up. But when I place a check mark and try to "insert checked contacts" I go to this address on a blank page: http://us.mc1612.mail.yahoo.com/mc/kioskHandler

I see that this has been asked before but no one had replied and I can't find the answer doing a search.

Can anyone help?

I have Vista Home Premium 32 using Firefox. The version is the latest version of Firefox but this has happened in many previous versions of Firefox. (I was lazy [or in a hurry] and just typed in the address of the entity to which I was communicating as a work around.)

A:Solved: Yahoo email unable to insert address from address book

Concerning my post above: I turned on my older XP computer and I had no problem with inserting an address from the Yahoo! address book.

I compared all my settings in both computers and noticed that I had different settings relating to how pop-ups are handled. XP reminded me that the address book takes the form of a pop-up. On my Vista I had pop-ups opening up (?) in a webpage. That is the page which came up blank. After I have corrected the settings, I no longer have a problem.

I am using Outlook 2003 and run Windows XP.

When I create a new message I begin typing the name of the recipient and I would like it to match up with an address I have in my Outlook contact list. However, it does not read from there. It only seems to look at addresses that I have already sent to in the past. How can I get it to read from the address book? If I click on "TO" or "CC" it brings up another window with a list of addresses from my contact list. From there I can have it pull from the list. I would like to be able to do it withot the extra step.

That is how autocomplete works, from used addresses stored in the NK2 file.

I have an att.net email account which is now serviced by Yahoo. Today a spam message originated from my account and was sent to everyone on my contacts list. "xmas" was in the subject line and the content was a web address which opens to a website apparently selling medications from Canada. Webroot antivirus has not detected any virus or malware on my computer. What should I do? Do I need to close the att.net email account?

I recently changed to comcast cable internet. I can send and receive mail at my earthlink.net email. However, I cannot send to someone at an "rcullen.com" email address. I have NEVER had this problem with this domain.

I went over all settiings with comcast and they are correct.

Does anyone know how to UNBLOCK an email address from not being able to be sent to? Or, is there a setting or workaround so that i can send from comcast to the rcullen.com email address?

Comcast has not told me it is blocked, but I can think of no other reason and I've read that they randomly block TONS of email domains for "spam" purposes.

Anyone else have a solution to this? Thanks!

I, just today, received a million emails from mail delivery refused daemons and such -i didn't send these emails. I changed my password, i use internet mail.. Yahoo.. I've always received a bleepload of spam however this is more serious.. Just happened recently, so I'm not sure if changing the password helped. still receiving this messages however they were sent before the time i changed my password.

if it so happens that the emails are continued to be sent, do I have malware? please help.

some more info: there are none of these messages in my "sent" folder. it's continuing to send me this delivery failed messages after changing my password. i've run spybot, ad-aware, avast home is on high real-time protection. posted two copies of these emails below, there are tons.

update: i think email is still being sent without my connection to the internet

If the sender used the non default address, that is the one that shows up first.

In the near future, my partner and I will be living in separate places of abode.Therefore, my partners Email address (which is currently managed by Outlook Express), will cease to exist. Very frustrated over here. I have windows mail and three different emails that are set up with it. My main one, my work, is set as my default email address. When I compose a new message is pops up as the default, yet when I reply to a message the other two pop up. All of my emails that this has been happening on have been those sent to my default email address Stressed out over here.

i have been trying to fix my email/outlook spam issue.  emails are going out WITH my actual email address, sending emails to people in my contacts, etc.
I also have been getting a ton of spam emails myself.
 
I use:
 
-Windows 7 Pro
-64 Bit
-Outlook 2010
-I have our own domain name email address, that is hosted by Frontier
 
Odd thing:  I changed my password for my email, but my outlook kept sending/receiving with the old password.
When I tried to update  the new password in outlook (which I verified by using the webmail versus outlook), it would not accept it.
