Can't upload images to any website that uses HTML editors!

Q: Can't upload images to any website that uses HTML editors!

Please, someone help me figure this out. I have tried everything from using different file types to using different internet browsers. A few months ago I had a serious CryptoWall 3.0 infection. Thanks to a very helpful person on this site, I was able to eradicate the virus by using a number of different softwares and virus protectors. However, ever since then, anytime I go to a site that uses an HTML editor, for example Tumblr, creating a website on Wix or uploading images for a listing on Etsy, it tells me my image is not a supported file type. I have used ALL file types, so please do not offer this as a solution. However, if I upload an image to Twitter, deviantART, or an email, it works perfectly fine. According to a route scanner that Tumblr support did, something on my computer is blocking the upload of the images. I have tried disabling all of my anti-virus software, as well, and that doesn't work, either. How do I fix this? I am an artist starting my own business and I NEED to be able to upload images to promote my own work. Please, someone help me. I'll tell more information should it be needed and asked for. I'd love for one of the helpers on this site who knows their way around a computer to help me, as I'm out of ideas. Thanks.

Preferred Solution: Can't upload images to any website that uses HTML editors!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I've been having a lot of trouble with my computer. A few months ago I got a nasty virus and had to do a lot of clean up, including installing anti-malware and security programs. After all of this, I am no longer able to upload images via any site that uses HTML-based editors/uploaders. This includes Tumblr as well as Wix, where I am planning to create my own website for my artwork. It does not affect my usage of sites like deviantART or Craigslist. I use Internet Explorer 11 on a Windows 7 computer. Can someone please help me? I can't create my website until I get this problem fixed. I think it may have something to do with my anti-virus software blocking my ability to upload things, but even when I turn them off it still says it can't upload any images. I contacted Tumblr and they had me run a tracer, which showed something on my computer is blocking it, but they were unsure as to what. Thanks.

I will soon be working on my website, and I was wondering if anyone knows of good HTML Editors to use.
I am mainly looking for something that I can set all the links up while offline. I was using Frontpage Express last time and the webpage worked fine on my PC but when I uploaded it I had lots of trouble getting all the links fixed up (The online pages were trying to link to files on my computer).
I would also like something that is very simple to use.

Thanks

I use Dreamweaver, and am happy with it. I have also used Frontpage Express, and you will like Dreamweaver much better. As there are many sites that offer tips and help with Dreamweaver, you should find all sorts of useful lthings to do.

I am looking for a simple WYSIWYG HTML editor to edit simple pages, that will work in Windows 7

Any suggestions?

I am not building web sites or applications .. I simply have a few local visual web pages that I run off a local drive ( kindda like portal pages). Dirt simple. Modest needs!

For years, I have been using Microsoft Frontpage 2000 - it was perfect. I still ahve the CD, but t would like not work anymore with WIndows 7 / Office 2003..and I dont want to start corrupting files.

So I am looking for a replacement . either free or up to $50.

I tried WebPlus, but gave up after 30 minutes of convoluted back and forth licencring and activation nonesene... on the free version!!. It insisted on a prodcut key, not supplied, and there were no retuen email address - and no one to write to and no way to contact them, with going thru dozens of FAQ pages. GOODBYE. Thats 30 minutes I will never get back.

I downloaded Komposer, but there was no way to isntall it. No setpup file; onlynested zip files. GOODBYE.

I downlaoded NVU, same as Komposer. Hopeless.

I really did not want ro go back to NOTEPAD, but , gotta say, its looking really really really good right now! In fact I will be changing my IE9 default web editor to NOTEPAD for now ( if it takes it)

Was hoping there we would at leat ONE product out there, that worked on Windows 7, that could easily be downaloded and installed, in less than two hours,, and had a WYSIWYG editor, to edit a local web page. I know thats... Read more

Are there any text editors that can be put on my website to enable my customers to type their own text? The catch is that I need the alignment "Justify", not just left or center. It is to justify their own text in a text box on a card that they are designing. Is there such a thing?

I want them to see a preview of their text as it would print. I really need full justification and interactive on my site.

Any suggestions?

My problem is when i try to upload graphics in any way at all. I cannot upload them to an online gallery that no-one else i know seems to have a problem uploading to. I just get an uploading window that never finishes.

I cant send e-mails with image files attached as they just wont send.

Also I cant send image files through MSN as people dont even see the transfers im trying to send so therefore cant accept them. Also, which i think is probably related, people cant see my msn display picture, all they see is that microsoft butterfly thing, but in my window its something completely different.

I am running IE 6.0 through a wireless broadband router. Any other spec questions just ask.

any advice would be really appreciated, bear in mind that im am fairly nooby so just pretend your helping a small child and we shoud be ok.

Thanks in advance,
Mark.

Hiya and welcome

Which version of Windows are you running, and are you using a firewall? Is your internet browsing in general okay, as in speed?

Lets see a log just to rule some things out:

go to http://forum.aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

I went to upload an image to ebay today to find that when I click on "select image" which should then open the picture library on my laptop nothing happens, absolutely nothing as if the button does not work. Just to add as well that ebay is my full time business so i do this often.

Since I noticed this I have tried IE8 & chrome and also tried facebook and gumtree and get the exact same results. My laptop (dell) is running windows 7 and as far as I am aware nothing has changed on my laptop, no new software has been installed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Did you format the Computer after the cryptowall infection ?
A quick fix would be - Save all your personal files externally and then try a reformat and reload windows.

Otherwise someone may assist you in posting some logs and directing you to a fix.
Also add your System Info : PC or laptop , Make / Model / XP - Win7 etc.

Hey, I'm writing this because I am currently unable to upload an (any) image to deviant art. It loads and tries until it gives me an error message, while other popular image upload sites such as Photobucket and Imageshack, and other forums whose features allow me to upload an image just try to load until after a few minutes a white screen with a url that would normally bring me back to the default page.

I am using Firefox, and have tried on Internet Explorer. I am using Windows XP.

A:Allowing Users to upload to my HTML site

This is all going to depend on where you host your site and what they allow. Usually the sites that are just HTML sites aren't going to let you have a cgi script, much less an upload cgi script. But then again, most of the decent hosts nowadays will let you have PHP scripts. What's your current site right now, and where is it hosted (and if applicable, what package from them)? Then I think someone may be able to help you.

Are you uploading both the picture file and HTML file to your server?

Are you sure you are putting both files in the correct location on the hosting company's server? If the picture file and html file are in different folders on your computer are you duplicating that in the sub-directory structure on the server?

Are you trying to access the index.html page in your browser as www.domainname.com or www.domainname.com/index.html?

They're the same JPEGs in the same sizes that I've been uploaded for my business to Amazon, Etsy & Facebook for over a year with this laptop and I've never had an issue before. It's happening with both IE 11 and Microsoft Edge. I ran a Malware program and found/removed some issues, but it didn't resolve the problem. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi,
I hope somebody can help me. I have been trying (for what seems like forever) to upload my pics from my hp photosmart 435 digital camera to my computer. I have tried everything possible. Nothing seems to work. I have checked the USB cable, unistalled software, re-installed it, refreshed USB cable, change USB configuration on camera to disk drive- and just about everything else.

I am a beginner with camera and computer, so I am sure it is something I am doing wrong, I just don't know what it is.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to get this working?

One thing I noticed when I install hp software, when it should prompt you to attach camera to computer, it doesn't give me that option, instead, in order to proceed, I have to check a box that says, "Install without connecting device." Could this be the problem? I don't think my computer is recognizing I even have a camera. When I do hook up the camera to the computer all the screen on my camera reads is, "Connecting to computer" It never changes.

Any ideas? I am desperate to solve this, it is driving me absolutely crazy!

Thank you, in advance, for your help.

Its like, I have a folder containing 2000+ jpg images and have folders somewhere with name 1, 1.33, 1.5, 2 with are basically ratio names. I want if powershell could upload those images and crop them according to the closest aspect ratios(1, 1.33, 1.5, 2) and save into respective ratio folder.

Or tell this software JPEGCrops to upload image and use its functions to crop image to closest ratio and save to respective ratio 1, 1.33, 1.5, 2 folder.

if you are not able to understand, its like:

powershell uploads images from "C:\images\" folder

check each image' ratio, by width/height

if(ratio is closest to any 1, 1.33, 1.5, 2 ) crop into that

then save it into respective 1, 1.33, 1.5, 2 folder.

A:Upload images from folder to a program by powershell

Hello busybee235 and welcome to the forums

Are they all grouped into aspect ratios as they are? Say 400 at 1.4, 250 at 1.33 etc. Or is every file different? If there's less than 10 (give or take a few) different aspect ratios, I think I can help.

Please ignore this, I just don't want to lose the link: http://sumtips.com/2011/12/sort-orga...ect-ratio.html

Does anyone know anything about the '1123 bug' ?

This refers to a problem in OE6 which occurs when an Image is Inserted into a New (HTML) Message and then the same Image repeated.

When the Message is Saved into Drafts or Sent then only the first Image appears - the others being replaced by Placeholders

Apparently this is caused by the OE Cumulative Patch 330994 (Apr. ' 03) - in particular the inetcomm.dll or inetres.dll Files

Thanks

Speed tests indicate my upload speeds are at least capable of 20Mbs. The images average around 5Mbs per image.

Edit: I tried uploading to : Free Online Picture Resizer - Crop and Resize photos, images, or pictures online for FREE! and they uploaded about 50Mb and then hung there as well.

I apologize if this has been hashed out before, I tried to find it but no luck.

I checked in "Safety Options", under 'Security' and in 'download images' both the 'Block images and other html content in e-mail' IS checked. as is 'show images from safe senders'. However, I have no entries in 'safe senders'.

I tried unchecking, rebooting, and rechecking that option, but nothing happened.

I tried restoring to a time before this started - this morning, and nothing happened.

I am trying to upload pics to various websites but I keep encountering the same problem. Once I start an upload, it uploads anywhere from 1% to 10% then the connection times out or is reset. Pics won't attach to emails either. I've tried using different browsers (Firefox, Safari, IE, Chrome, etc) to no avail and tried an FTP client filezilla which also times out. I've turned firewall off, on, uninstalled it, reinstalled it and tried to upload each time like when it was uninstalled or off and still didn't work. I've added exceptions to firewall and nothing. Same with anti virus software but nothing. I also flushed the DNS cache, forwarded the port to my router to allow but still a no go. I don't really know what else to try, but no matter what, I keep getting the same problem. Safari says "Safari Cant Open The Page. The error is (KCFErrorDomainWinSock:10054)" and Firefox says "The connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." and the other browsers say something similar. Pls Help!!

Hi! I just returned from a trip to Russia. I took JPEG photo's, and my server (Verizon) has a free program to make a small website for the photo's. I did everything, then uploaded. Photo's went to a different, newly created site "my photo gallery" I cannot get them onto the web page they are supposed to be on. My trip of a lifetime now sits in limbo. The program company, Trellix Sitebuilder, has no link available to the little guy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. "Web Photo Manager" is the program name.

Try this joint--http://my.fotopic.net/ . Very nice free website service for your photos--all sorts of choices for galleries etc---

Hi Folks:

I've just installed Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit) - clean install from Windows XP Media Centre 2005 (SP3).

Ran into a few problems but were fixed by a repair of Windows 7.

I have two browsers: IE8 and Firefox 3.6.13. I can upload to my website at Ning.com in IE8 but not at all with Firefox 3.6.13.

I have tried everything: flash, java, clearing the cache, portable apps version of Firefox, safe mode, new profile, checked Windows Firewall, Trend Titanium, etc.

Finally removed Firefox and tried using the "portable apps" again and still cannot upload to my website at Ning.

I contacted Ning Technical Support but they say it is my computer.

This falls under a number of categories: Windows General, Browsers and Security software.

Any ideas what would prevent me from uploading to my website? Is it the Windows Firewall?

Thanks, MS

A:Firefox 3.6.13 - Can't upload to website

I would say try a third browser... possibly chrome and see if it works. It's very possible they just don't have proper support for any ftp outside of the native I.E. one.

Hi,
As of this morning, upon loading my homepage in IE11, html code for images is somehow changed by IE11. One example:
<div class="image">
<img alt="" src="images/kind.jpg">
</div>
in the page html code is changed by IE11 into:
<div class="image" style='background-; background-image: url("images/kind.jpg"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-size: cover;'>
<img style="opacity: 0;" alt="" src="images/kind.jpg">
</div>
So it converts an img image into a background-image. This happens for jpg, png and svg pictures. This didn't happen before.

Anyone any idea what is causing this behavior?

Outlook Express Security has the following optional feature:

Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail.

I'm wondering how important it is to block these images/content. Does it really make much difference at all? I don't like having to click the images "on" each time I open a message.

A:Downloading Images in HTML e-mail

I guess this setting was automatically changed when I downloaded SP2. I just read that MS makes these changes for security reasons, so perhaps I should find out what their reasoning is.

How can I change the size of my pictures to upload them to the website? Is it as simple as cropping to a smaller size?

I am working on a MACBook Pro 3.1

Thanks

A:Pictures too large to upload to website

Cropping means you're cutting out part of a picture, and that will work if it's appropriate. I.e., you have a person and a background. and you only want the person.
You're more likely to want the entire picture in a smaller size.
My camera's native format, for instance, is 2048 x 1536 at 72 pixels per inch.
That's about 9 MB, which is a bit too large. In most cases I use an editing app to change one dimension, like the width, to a smaller size, say 600 pixels. All editing programs will change the other dimension proportionally. This gives a size of 600 x 450, or 756 Kb, which is much more manageable. If I save it as a jpg at a lower quality, the size can be dramatically reduced further.
I don't know what image software you have available, but I'm sure there's a program that will do this.

A:Solved: How to upload a photo to a website in XP?

The particular site would most likely have some kind of "Upload" link or button that would open a dialog box that would allow you to browse to a file on your computer and upload it. If the site does permit uploading photos and does not have such a link or button, they might have a page with instructions on how to upload them.

Depending on how the site is coded, you might need to have your web browser enable the use of active content, such as Javascript, in order to see a button to upload photos.

Hi,

I actually observed another person on this website have the same exact problem as me (as far as I could tell).
I can't upload ANY of my videos, which is a problem because my classes are based off of video production.

Is there a port that is blocked?

I have Windows Vista Home Edition and Avira AnitVir Personal Antivirus software (I'm starting to wonder if it was that, because that was around the time I was forcible switch from AVG 8.1 to Avira).

I simply disable the Kerio and rely on the XP service pack firewall as I upload.

Can anyone help me return Kerio to it's former self???

Hi, I have been in constant contact with Ebay customer support for the last 4 weeks over problems with my Turbo Lister, but I don’t think they are ever going to sort it out.
As well as those problems which are described below I now have another problem. I went on my PC this morning and I am now unable to open my TL2. I click on TL on my desktop and it briefly opens for less than a second and then turns off. The turbo lister icon is still on my desktop so hopefully I have not lost all my listings. I have backed up my database in the last few days but do not know how to retrieve it . Can anyone please tell me how? Also would it be possible to open a new turbo lister on a different PC using the ID and password I already use, and then move all my TL info to that to see if that would make it useable. If so can anyone tell me how to do this?
My original Problems sent to Ebay Customer Support:
Hi, I have over 200 items in my turbo lister inventory. Nearly all these
items were imported from my Ebay unsold items list during the last 12 months.
They all have the original pictures from the Ebay listings with them.
When I try to upload them to ebay a message appears saying items has errors / error – failed to submit image(s). I have tried uninstalling turbo lister and then
reinstalled it but still the same message appears. This happens on all
the adverts and not just the odd one.
I have my firewall (WINDOWS FIREWALL) set to accept TurboLister
My anti virus is AVG 8.0. 175

I have a freewebspace.com site and want to put an image of a newsletter I produce into it. I write the newsletter in MSPublisher2000 and can convert it to an HTML file without problems, but when I try to transfer it to the site via the file manager I end up with an empty box with the dreaded little red cross in one corner. The newsletter contains text and overlapping images. I made up a simple test file with some images and some text, none of it overlapping, and what I got on the site was the text looking as it should and red crosses in boxes in place of the images, so it must be the imbedded images that cause the problem.
Anyone got any ideas? Love to hear them as the only way I have found to get the newsletter into the site is to print a hard copy, scan and save it as a JPEG image and insert that as an image. This works, but is not as clear as an HTML would be.

I'm not sure how or when this started because it used to work.
For whatever reason, when I forward an email the is all html embedded, it doesn't show up in the message. The messages are marked safe and not junk. But I have no idea whats causing this.

Whats more odd is that I just tested it with other html emails and they worked. So it seems some will work and others will not.

Any ideas or thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

Whenever I browse the web 1/4 times I will see html code rather than what the page intended (I have included an example.) Also on some webpages I will see really distorted images; refreshing the page doesn't help as if they were permanently damaged for my view.

I thought reformatting would solve these issues but they still remain. Sometimes images just show up as broken jpegs as well. Any clue as to what the issue may be?

Could this be a hardware issue?

A:Distorted images and failure to render HTML or CSS sometimes

Hi reedwalter and Welcom to Seven Forums.

This is likely a browser issue, it happens to me too on many sites with IE8. In my case however a refresh clears it up. do you have magnification set to more than 100%?
Could be your resolution setting too, try whatever is native for your monitor. Disable all addons in the browser then reenable each, one at a time. Try resetting it to all default settings.
Which browser are you using?
You can try updating your graphics driver, but that may not help.

on a Windows 2016 Server, it shows this source:

<img src='../images/Diur&amp;#233;ticos, medicamentos contra trastornos del equilibrio &amp;#225;cido-base, glaucoma.jpg' alt="" />
The image does not show in the the HTML page.
Any ideas why?
