MTP driver update only works until you unplug android device build 4.3

Q: MTP driver update only works until you unplug android device build 4.3

I have a galaxy S3. Love the thing to death.... but after jellybean 4.3, MTP no longer works. I have tried both Kies Air (not a fan) and an MTP update from windows.com that I love, however, neither work. Specifically I am talking about the MTP update I installed from windows. I run the install, restart the PC, and as long as you leave the phone plugged in during this process, all is well. It works just fine. Once you unplug the phone, however, It seems to cease to continue working. I will plug my phone in again and I get the same error I was trying to fix...

I have been made recently aware that there are a great number of fixes to this problem. One of which I have already tried which involves opening RegEdit and changing one of the WUDFSVC services to a 2 from a 1... Needless to say, if it had worked then I wouldn't be here.

-I am using 7 professional X64
-It is an S3, verizon, 4.3 jellybean build
-It is pissing me off (oh wait, thats not a spec...)

Anyways, If anyone has any suggestions. I have been made aware to try uninstalling drivers and restarting but I have no clue what to uninstall and from where.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi all. This is my very first smartphone, but I'm pretty well versed with computers (not an expert).

(edit) The phone is a BLU Studio C 5+5 with a Mediatek MT6582 CPU I have also updated my PC specs in my profile.

First off, I'm pretty sure when I first hooked it up it was fine, because I managed to get some mp3's moved to it, but now it will only connect in camera mode. So, I can transfer pictures, but that's it.

The problem seemed to begin after Windows Update alerted me to an MTP driver update, which I attempted to install, but it failed every time. I tried a clean boot and install but it still failed. After that, I can only connect in camera mode.

I have contacted BLU about drivers and they said they don't provide them, and to contact OS support.

I have attempted to contact Mediatek but got no response.

I am including several pics of of errors and info. Take note of the two different messages in the same window that I got at two different times.

Things I have tried:

* Uninstall followed by clean boot install

* Uninstalling some (not all) other USB listings in device manager. Not all at once, as some lock up my USB keyboard and mouse.

* Different USB ports

* Unplugging USB harddrive

One last thing: Windows update seems to have an issue with 'disappearing' updates after multiple failed attempted installs. It has done this with the MTP driver and now my Intel graphics driver, which was also failing to install.

Any help is greatly appreciated! (It o... Read more

Hey all!

As the thread title says, I need this device driver and I need it fast. As I don't have an active broadband connection anymore I am trying to connect to the Internet using my Android device as a modem (USB tethering). But I am curently stuck here. It seems I need a driver for this to work.

I am using Windows Vista 64-bit with SP2 and a HTC Desire as modem. When I connect the phone Windows is looking for drivers for a device named 'Android Phone'. It fails to find it and asks me what to do. I obviously can't let it search for it on the Internet. And I don't have a disc with drivers, I didn't get one.

I am using the Android phone to type this. As I have limited screen size and no mouse or keyboard, it's really hard for me to do a Google search to track down this driver issue. As far as I can tell, this should work out of box on Windows Vista. It seems that only Windows XP users are having this issue. Even on the Google Help it says that Windows XP users will need a special driver to enable USB tethering. But then again, why am I having this problem on Windows Vusta then?

I need to get back online fast, as I have bills to pay and things like that.

Thanks in advance!

A:Solved: Request: USB tethering device driver for 'Android Phone' on Windows Vista 64-

Hi again! I just wanna let you know that I have solved this little problem. As it turns out it does pay off reading the manual. Also, it is not completely true that Windows Vista comes with appropriate drivers pre-installed. You still need to install these, even on Windows Vista, and on Windows 7. But I still wish that things like these could just work out of the box. But for that reason alone, I may need to switch to a different operating system.

The solution was very simple. I did need to install the device drivers. But I didn't need to download and install them separately, they came pre-packed as part of the HTC Sync tool. And this thing comes cleverly stored on the MicroSD of the phone. So I just installed that and I was able to use the phone as a modem. It worked very good. The Internet connection did hang up on me once, but after a reboot of the phone it worked again and I was able to do my business effortlessly.

The thing is, I have terminated my old subscription, and I completely forgot about it and when they were supposed to shut down my connection. So it just happened, unexpectedly. But I have ordered a new Internet subscription with my new carrier and I am expecting it to be activated in couple of minutes.

Thanks anyway!

P.s. Just for the record, the HTC Sync tool is stored on the root of the memory card, the MicroSD card of the phone. It should say something like 'HTCSync_2.0.28.exe'. Just plug the phone to the computer in USB mass storage mode ... Read more

A:No Audio device - Code 52 - can't find a driver that works 64bit

The default basic function Microsoft HD Audio Codec should only be used if nothing else is available. The PC vendor's audio driver is the preferred as non vendor drivers in many cases either do not work or do not work correctly.

The code 52, along with the digital signing, could also be malware on the PC according to what I see doing a google search.

Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the sound device and then LEFT click "Uninstall". Also check the box to uninstall drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts try to install the correct vendor sound driver.

I tried to update my older Radeon ATI 5450 GPU via windows update...

I received the message from windows update, and showed it failed update with the 0x800706be

However when I go to device manager and check the details of the installed driver it clearly shows the new updated version? So I wonder which is correct the device manager showing the new version of the driver or windows update?

You can identify the problem using Device Manager, which you can access by:
Opening the Control Panel Window
Selecting and double-clicking System
Clicking Device Manager
In Device Manager check if there is an exclamation point, a yellow triangle, or a question mark against your Dell device. If there is, there is a problem with your Dell device.

That would be very difficult.
Lets first find out if your if your Audio jack is broken.
Go to Start/Search and type devmgmt.msc Right click the devmgmt results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Device Manager are there any yellow flags? If so, these devices need drivers installed.

Recently comcast installed cable internet and I have an ethernet connection now and wanted to move wireless adapter to another computer...When I unplug the adapter the monitor shuts off and the computer seems to want to go to sleep mode. If I plug it back in, it runs perfectly fine. I have tried a ton of different stuff but still I get this problem. Running computer in safe mode does not cause this problem while the adapter is unplugged however.

I searched high and dry on the internet and really could not find another person with the same problem. I have a lot of knowledge with computers and hardware but never have I been baffled like this. I have tried everything from deleting the device in device manager to a system restore to previous date. No matter what I have tried my computer has an dependency of sorts on this wireless card! The number of drivers available from the official Acer driver download page for my computer the 6930G, is quite limited so, for instance, to get the latest Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN driver I downloaded and installed the latest generic Proset Wireless version for Windows 7, 18.40.0 from Intel's site. However, the 5100 AGN driver version in device manager has not changed, and is still 12.4.1.4, but according to Intel, Proset wireless version 18.4.0 should update this to 14.3.2.1

When I update drivers from Acer's official page the device manager shows the newer versions.

Anyway, I'd really appreciate some help on this. Thanks in advance.

What "driver update" did you do?

There is nothing showing, either for the RealTek PC audio or the NVIDIA HDMI audio.

RIGHT click in a blank area in the Playback panel and check to Show Disabled and Disconnected devices. If nothing still shows up RIGHT click on the RealTek entry to highlight it in the Device Manager and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT uninstall the driver. Hi,

Hoping I can find some help here.

We have a standard android tablet that we use to deploy throughout stores that runs an android app that we use.

We use Google's ADB to deploy our application and I do this VIA a workstation that I have set up running Windows 7 64 bit.

My issue is that when I connect a new device windows fails to find a driver for it, this isn't so bad as I need to replace the driver anyway with the google usb driver (android_winusb.inf) anyway but when I point the update driver process from the device manager to the folder it tells me that the there is no driver for this device in that location.

I then go through the process of manually associating the driver with the device (accepting warnings that it might not work, etc).

What I am after is a method of associating this specific driver with this type of device so that when I connect a new device of the same type fresh out of the box it will automatically install the android_winusb.inf as the driver for that device.

Thanks in advance.

MS Tech Support removed the virtual device for display and the current driver. The first person left me with the original problem without finalizing the chat session after trying several fixes. Things are able to be read, but the resolution is not in proportion. In Device Manager, Display Adapter now says Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, but the actual on board adapter is from Intel. The driver used is from 2006, and does not offer recommended resolution for the monitor. How do I use the actual Intel graphics adapter and get a driver for the current version of W10 that will display correctly?

1) Security is not essential for anything - you can run Windows fine without any AV or security but you just need to be extremely careful.
2) Android Devices can get infected pretty easily thanks to the Google Play store letting in malicious applications - IOS doesn't have this issue.
3) If you are infected on your Android device then download stuff like:

- MalwareBytes
- Emsisoft or Kaspersky AV
They can be found within the Google Play Store!

Hello everyone!

I have a question: is it possible to "synchronize" Windows 8 / 8.1 (but also possibly Windows 7) with an Android smartphone?

Let me explain: I would like that if I set a reminder with your smartphone, I'll be back even when I log on to Windows, a bit 'as is the case with iOS + OSX.
I know that you can not synchronize your Google Calendar with Windows 8, if not connecting to the google account to hotmail, but there is another way that you know?

It would be nice to also sync the photos you snap with your cell phone with the gallery of Windows 8, using Google Drive, but I guess now I ask a bit 'too much, however, a synchronization in Apple style is that possible?

I have no problem to "do everything by hand," but I was wondering if there is a faster way to do the whole thing ....

Thank you in advance !!

Good morning friends, this question might fall under networking or mobile devices, but I think it's more a PC question. My goal is to forge a setup where I am able to conveniently stream media from my home media PC to my Android smartphone (Galaxy 3S). I am currently able to stream video to my phone while I'm at home on my Wi-Fi connection using the "Nearby Devices" option in the phone that appears to engage DLNA. I've got 4G service (big deal....) and would like the ability to access my home content while on the go. From my limited understanding of this goal, I see the option of using a VPN or something of that nature to create a secure connection through the computer's firewall so I can access the media server; is this going to work? Would this essentially be considered a "remote desktop" scenario? Asked another way: is a remote desktop connection a VPN?I'm looking for some suggestions on how to pull this off. If you have suggestions, like "use this VPN and open these ports and blah blah blah", I'd need some how-to because I've never tried to do this. I know a person can buy some programs that say they will take care of doing this, but how hard can it be? It's just a client-server relationship between the phone and the PC, right? Ope... Read more

One software that I have used for this is called Orb. You would install the Orb Caster software on your PC, add the media files to the Orb libraries, and then you can stream them from any internet-connected PC. That is if the virus lets you access your USB port and doesn't then try to infect your phone

I suppose if you had NO other way at all of getting diagnostic software to your PC (via thumb drive or CDR etc)... If I'm interpreting their website right...

Hello. I installed a few recommended Windows Updates on 1/15. After the update, install, and computer refresh though, my audio stopped working. I went to Control Panel and tried opening up my audio driver, HT Omega Claro Halo, but the driver wouldn't open. I then checked my Device Manager and found the oh so fun error code 52 associated with my Claro Halo audio driver. You know, the one that says,

"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"

I then rolled back my C drive to a previous restore point I made a few days ago and it was working again which means that something in the update was messing up my audio driver. I re-downloaded the Updates and uninstalled the drivers. I downloaded the latest driver but that didn't work and I am still getting the same error code 52. I know the F8 trick on start-up that disregards the digital signature of drivers but that is only a temporary fix and definitely NOT what I am looking for. I'm looking for a permanent solution. I would appreciate it if someone could help me out here. Thanks.

Have you contacted HT Omega about the problem? I used to have an HT Omega "Striker 7.1" sound card and ran into a couple of problems that they straightened out for me (even sent me a special driver to fix a problem).

Windows 10 Home Version 1803 up to date, Lenovo M57 PC Intel Duo Core E6750 2.66 GHz, 3 Gb RAM, 32 bit

Had two sessions with Microsoft tech support for a problem which first became obvious in Windows Live Mail. The main page of the app does not format correctly, and has some text reflected vertically from the end of strings and other errors of things misplaced. I later found some errors in browsers. MS Tech Support removed the virtual device for display and the current driver. The first person left me with the original problem without finalizing the chat session after trying several fixes. The second person removed the virtual device and replaced it with generic 2006 MS display adapter support. My resolution is now 1280x1024 on a monitor which is normally at 1920x1080.

There is not a graphics driver for that version of Win 10, or any version of Win 10.  Your Intel processor / graphics processor is not supported by Intel for Win 10, is several generations earlier than Win 10 is supported (Ivy Bridge.)  One option is to install a graphics card that will have Win 10 driver.  Since your system has PCIe 1.1, you should install a card that has PCIe 2.0, and not the current 3.0 (which can have compatibility issues with 1.1.)

Hi

I hope someone might be able to help explain what this driver update is for and that it is correct to install on an L755 15W Satellite 64 processor laptop?

The reason I ask is because this driver update has just downloaded and installed on my above type laptop which has been upgraded from W7 to W10. The update came via Windows Updates.

Thanks
G

After that the connection is initiated for a few seconds and then it's lost and the device appears as disconnected

guys
this concerns file sharing Win7-to/from-Android devices.
some of you use android as I do. there are a lot of apps and utils etc for connecting to lan/wifi but I'm wondering what you have found that is best? the file manager app I'm using can address a 'server' via tcp address but I was thinking I had read of a simpler approach - just cannot easily find via searching and reading descrips.

all advice gladly received!

I'm a total noob with Droid, but all I have to do is turn on WiFi on the device, then it will notify of available networks. I tap one, choose connect and I'm on it.

Ms works 7.0. in W10 64 bit but not in 32 bit-in build 10130.

Here are my test methods
64 bit clean install of 10130 works installed & worked
64 bit upgrade install from 10130 works installed & worked
32 (X86) bit clean install from 10130 works wouldn't install and of course didn't work. Unable to do upgrade testing on that.

Is there actually a 64 bit version of Microsoft Works? I am trying to install 8.5 to a Windows 64 bit, but get a crash when opening database file. I get Works 9 to do a seemingly clean install, but get some weird errors at various points as well. For instance, I can't open .wks word processor files from desktop shortcuts, but will open fine within Works. I'm thinking it may because this Windows version is 64 bit? Works 8, 8.5 and 9 all work perfectly on Windows 7 32-bit systems here (as well as XP, Win 8, and 10) ....

Hi All,

First post - thanks in advance for reading!

So I am having trouble getting my email to "sync" properly between three devices (using quotes because I don't actually want to sync, I believe):
1) Gmail web interface (used on remote computers - library, friends' homes, etc);
2) Outlook mail client (home desktop computer);
3) Android email app (phone).
I would like Outlook on my home desktop computer to be the final destination - this is where I do most of my work and I prefer the functionality of Outlook. I have been trying to set this up so that I can access and delete mail from either the web or phone, but whatever remains in my inbox will wind up in Outlook next time I open it - and once downloaded by outlook will no longer appear on Gmail / Phone.

Currently its all awry. Mostly the Gmail /Outlook arrangement works, except that every message I send to others in Gmail also winds up in my Outlook inbox. Annoying but bearable. The phone is the real problem, though, messages that go to the phone stay on the phone and cannot be retrieved by either Gmail or Outlook, without manual forwarding.
Currently, I have Gmail set up to use POP and to delete messages from Gmail once they have been downloaded with POP. I have my phone set up to use POP, with sync off (though manually syncing seems to make no difference), and to never delete messages from the server.

Also, I would rather not use the gmail android app because I can either sync mail and con... Read more

A:Gmail (web) + Desktop Client + Android device. Help!

Not helpful, but know you're not alone. I have a similar setup to yours (except I use Thunderbird as my home email client).

That being said, I've never been able to "streamline" mine either. I believe this is largely dependent on the push or pull times (whether the client or server is responsible I don't know).

But even with just my Android phone and the web app, the result of deleting an email on my phone does not immediately delete an email on the web app. I often have to wait a while, or even separately delete the email again on the web app for it to take effect.

Droid 3 won't obtain IP address from my network, please help thank you!

I just got the motorola droid 3, my first android device. I'm trying to figure out how to get my device to connect to my network as it won't obtain the IP address. I have a Motorola Surfboard SBV5120 Modem and a Microsoft MN-700 router. I just switched from the Palm Pre Plus which connected perfectly to this network, the network is unsecured and has 2 pc's and a 360 running on it. I was able to connect to my friend's wireless network fine at his house. I'm not very familiar with routers and their settings, any advice or walkthrough of this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
