Technical Error In HJT

Q: Technical Error In HJT

Well, I downloaded HJT on another computer, burned it, and uploaded it to a NEW folder on my desktop on my problem computer and, quite frankly, it goofed. HJT encounters an error when it is scanning NT services and has to exit. Man, I'm really beginning to hate this computer....

Preferred Solution: Technical Error In HJT

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Technical Error In HJT

Some computers have this problem, try using an older version:

Please download HijackThis - this program will help us determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer. Create a folder at C:\HJT and move HijackThis1982.exe there. Run a scan and save the log file. Get HijackThis Analyzer and save it to the same folder as the hijackthis.log file. Run HijackThis Analyzer and type in y if you agree. Open up the result.txt file created. Copy the whole result.txt log and post it in the forum. Do not fix anything in HijackThis since they may be harmless.

Whenever I log in to my windows XP, a minute after logging in a blue screen appears, saying, "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer". After this, it suggests several things to try and then it displays this technical error:

*** STOP: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x805787f8, 0xba11b99c, 0x00000000)

Below this it states it's "dumping physical memory to disk".
After a period of time it just shuts down and restarts. I've tried uninstalling my inernet security as I believe it involves the RAM in the computer (we have 1.5 GB) but that only worked for the day. What is going on with my computer?

A:Confusing technical error

You could check the Minidump file in your Windows folder to see if that points to the cause of the problem. If you are unsure about what to look for, you could upload it here.

Dear Guyz,
this is my story, I have an Acer Aspire Z1620 AIO Desktop. It was working well on win8. However, yesterday while my desktop was on, electricity went out. I'm in India so it was all usual and generator started. So my DESKTOP ALSO STARTED at the same time. But what happened that after windows logo the screen got blurred and it restarted over again and again. I thought it would be simple so I thought to upgrade it to win8.1 . So I made a bootable pen drive and when I tried to install it. It says win8.1 can't be installed on MBR disk. It can be done only on GPT Disk. So, I tried to gather info. About MBR AND GPT but then in vain I found out that first I need to clean hard disk. So I formatted C: drive During installation. But the problem remains. It was asking to convert it into GPT ( Somehow with searching I found how to convert MBR into GPT using Diskpart). While I was using Diskpart it shows my C: Harddisk and D: Harddisk as one whole partition(900GB IN ONE WHOLE UNIT). Now I can't erase my D: Harddisk. I have got very very very important files. It is the source. Moreover, I found that throught GPTGEN it's possible. However, My command prompt is saying that the path cannot be specified (how could it when I already formatted my C: drive). By imparting more on net I found that by disabling UEFI mode into Legacy mode the computer will automatically take MBR drive. But when I opened BIOS Setup I can't find my UEFI Secure boot option. Also when I tried installing Ubu... Read more

Hi, I'm wondering what is wrong with my computer.

When I play a game ( World of Warcraft ) or few others, I get a message or something thats on my monitor that says
"Out of Range" Set monitor resolution lower or read the manual guide.

When I'm in the game it works fine, but then it all freezes and I got that message and it kept happening a few other times
maybe after 30 mins of playing or so.

I'm wondering why I get this message and the specs are below if needed.

Specs:

Computer - Compaq Presario 5108 US or 5000 series

Motherboard - Via

Processor - AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz

Memory - 384 RAM

Graphics Card - Radeon X1300/X1550 series
If you need anything else listed please tell me.

Thanks.

A:Technical Error with Graphics Card

You max out the video display of both your video card or the monitor. You would have to use a lower setting. Don't max the settings otherwise you'll get this error..

Hello akkittiekat, and welcome to Vista Forums.

It sounds like you are thinking of "System Restore". It can be accessed with a Vista Install DVD, a repair CD, or the reserved system partition at boot up. It is possible to restore to a point before you created the Admin password, or to a password you remember.

Here are some tutorials to show you how to use "System Restore" in different ways:

System Recovery Options

System Restore - How to

Administrator Account

Reset User Account Password

Create a Recovery Disc
You referred to the Admin password, is this the Admin account created during installation, or the "Hidden Default Administrator" account? This tutorial shows how to enable the Default Hidden Administrator account when there is no other account with Admin privileges available. Once you have enabled this account, you can use it to change the password to your Admin account.

User Account Password - Change from Win RE

Lately I have been badgered with high pressure sales tactics from several companies who provide technical support most notably Iyogi and PcWizard. Using the Event Viewer, they found (I embarrassed to say) over 37,000 warnings, errors and informative messages which have accumulated over the past three to four years. Each has told me that I am risking everything on my computer unless this problem is dealt with immediately even though I do a complete backup twice a week. Needless to say, I told each of them I wanted to do some research about their respective companies before making a decision. This was the only way to get them off the phone. I have no idea how they got hold of my telephone number in the first place and each was reluctant to tell me. Actually, I would like to learn how to effectively manage this situation myself. This leads me to two questions. Firstly, would it be worth my while to have a strange company I have never heard of take over control of my computer? Secondly, how and where would I go about learning how to manage this situation myself? The latter of these would be far more preferable to me since it would enable me to provide this service to my clients. I have been working with computers for 27 years and my capacity to learn has not diminished regardless of my advanced age. When the link was disconnected between my computer and PcWizard, they left behind a program called 'Advanced WindowsCare V2'. I believe all they were about to do... Read more

I've got a PC technical problem. Please help?

I very recently encountered a problem with my PC. after about a few minutes when I'm in windows, i get these thin horizontal lines across my screen. but it doesn't end there, shortly after, i get these big thick yellow vertical lines all over my screen!

I can still navigate my cursor but there's absolutely no point cause I can barely see anything!

so here is the thing - its definitely not a monitor problem cause I've connected another monitor and the same problem still occurs. Ive been told to restore my computer back to factory settings but I dont think that will solve the problem, so its either that OR it could be a hardware problem possibly? graphics card maybe?

can anyone help me out here?

P.s. my computer is a new HP PAV... and ive head it for around 3 years now. my warranty is long gone.

Hello,

Recently I decided to change my original 256MB RAM to a 512MB RAM, unfortunatly this ending not very successful, so I changed back downto 256MB RAM, unfortunatly after putting back in the original 256MB RAM I got a series of beeps coming from my PC meaning there was an obvious problem with the Memory. Completly forgetting I had handled the RAM incorrectly and resulting in damaging the memory.
After discussing this with a friend of mine he recommended I brought new RAM which I did. I got the correct memory for my PC etc... Arriving today I installed the new 512MB RAM on my PC at home, sadly enough this didnt solve the problem. I am keeping the new memory but it can either be the Graphics Card or the Motherboard, is this true or just a rumour? If anybody could assist me with this problem I would really apriciate it as my patients is growing thin.

Any response would be much apriciated or E-Mail [email protected]

That sounds like you are not seating the DIMMs properly. They will make a snap noise when they are seated in correctly (as worrying as that might be!).

Either that , or your mobo is damaged. I have seen that before, but generally because the mobo got cracked when the memory was forced in too hard. It does not sound like that in this case. I think you are not seating properly.

Hi folks,

I'm having trouble with a couple of technicalities of late and was wondering whether you would be kind enough to help out...

The first is that my MP4 player isn't recognised when I plug it in any more. I've checked the wire and USB socket are fine and ran through info on the manufacturer's site, but it still won't "Beep-beep" on plugging it in and let me sync new songs to it with Windows Media Player because the device isn't found (bizarrely, it does make a "Beep" sound when I unplug it). Also, for some odd reason, the device has started appearing in a box titled "Safely Remove Hardware" (perhaps this is relevant to situation).

The second issue is even more a problem ? the fact my computer won't play DVDs any more. Players no longer recognise DVD information and a box pops up on WMP (the player I use most often) after a while saying "DVD Playback Graph has not been built yet".

Any advice would be much appreciated.

When going into safe mode to run a scan he noticed the top option was "repair the computer". After trying several removal tools and scans a decision was made to do a "system recovery". He got back to the boot options page and clicked " Repair computer" then "Recovery wizard". At this time he continued and it took 2 hours to clean the HDD. jab14 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! The HP warranty provides for HP Technical Support without charge for the duration of the one-year warranty. If your PC is older than that, the warranty has expired and HP is then not obligated to provide free technical support. Also, the PC is only warranteed for support for the original OS that comes preinstalled, if you change that, you are on your own. So, is your PC less than a year old and does it still use the original OS that came preinstalled? We can proceed once you provide the information. Thanks

The only hardware upgrade that you can usually make to a laptop is to add more RAM - if it supports adding more.

From what I've read so far, that model laptop comes with the AMD Sempron 3600+ 2.00 GHz processor and supports up to 4 GB of DDR2 PC2-6400(DDR2-800) RAM.

I recently bought a copy of JTIS (Jaguar Tecnhical Information System) on CD-ROM to help with keeping my car running well without having to run into the dealer all the time. This is a factory-sealed copy of the software, not a bootleg copy. Every time I try to run any part of this program, it crashes. I get a message such as

The instruction at <number string> referenced memory at <number string>. The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

No hints as to what is causing the problem. No hints as to how to fix it. The program as it sits is worthless. There is no troubleshooting section on the CD-ROM, and no documentation from the manufacturer. I went on the Windows XP website, and the only thing I can find is how to fix MSIE if it causes this.

Any ideas as to how I can make this thing work?

A:Technical problem

You might want to check the CD for system requirements and ensure your PC meets all of them. The error you referenced is usually due to poorly written software trying to access reserved memory locations assigned to the OS.

Thank you.
REPLY:
Dear NEC customer,
The 660plus is not supported in Windows XP. NEC is no longer developing drivers for the 660plus as NEC is exiting the printer industry. You may want to email again after XP has been offcially released for a few months. We may discover a work around.

-After that I can say: I have a printer in the dustbin, NEC has lost a customer in the other "industries" they are not "exiting".-

Please if someone know these drivers I will be pleased....

Thank you.

A:Nec and his Technical Support

Maybe you should have checked all your hardware to see if it was supported by XP. Not everything is and most manufacturers have not written drivers for it yet. Find a generic driver for an NEC printer similar to yours in XP's native drivers and use that. They offered a workaround if they found one so what are you complaining about....do a little research!

A:Need Technical support

Is the computer under Warranty?
If so have you sought advice from the Manufacturer?
How long have you had this problem for?
What troubleshooting have you done thus far?

what is a CPU temp and a system temp??

http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h107/MUPPET90/myspeeds.jpg

Also I dont understand what speeds my processor speeds are I am on the understanding that it is a AMD ATHLON 64 X2 DUAL CORE 4200 this is split in to 2 so each core is 2100??? http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h107/MUPPET90/amdspeed.jpg

I am really and utterly confused - Please remember I am thick so any replies please put them in to basics lol. And I think since I put this new processor fan in my RPM is under 1000 is this right?

Thanks for looking anyway

A:Some Technical Help Required

The CPU is the processor (central processing unit). So in your case your running at 22 celcius i think that says which is nice and cool. And the system temp is most likely to be your motherboards temperature (not too sure though).

I am getting a run time error on a applications that programs
our police radios.

This is first day on site and I saw many responses on Pascal etc.

I don't have that. I'm running Windows ME and the error state
runtime error 103.

This file was sent as an attachment from our distrubutor of the police radios we are programing.

Can I correct something on my computer to correct this.

Thanks

Can you do a screen capture of the error message and maybe we can figure this out. To do the screen capture, press the ALT key and the Print Screen key (usually top row of keys near the right side of the keyboard) at the same time. This will save it on the clipboard. You then need to open MS Paint and then press the CTRL key and the V key at the same time to paste from the clipboard. Save the file as a bitmap and then reply back here. When you reply, below the reply box is a Attach File section. Use the browse button there to search for the bitmap you created.

What troubleshooting questions would I ask a customer when fixing a pc?

A:Technical questions

If you need to ask that, then you shouldn't really be a customer facing support bod.
Use your gut feelings, based on what the customer says is wrong. You need to tailor each question on each individual customer.

Is there a third party technical protocol.  My computer was locked up after I went to a porn website.  I had to call a number and pay some vendor to restore it.  Was this a scam?

Hi Everyone,

I only recently subscribed to this forum, hoping I can get some help here with some problems I have. They are Microsoft related and I cannot find any solutions on their website.

The first problem I have is the following:

Whenever I open Internet Explorer version 7, the programme is not responding for a few moments and also slows down other programmes that I work in at the same time. I never had this problem with version 6 and when I uninstall version 7 the previous version works fine. Once version is reinstalled the problem occurs again. I have already reset and deleted all cookies, temp. internet files and history as recommended by Microsoft but no luck.

Could you help please? My operating system is Windows XP. Someone said that I might have a missing or corrupt file within my Windows O/S but how do I find out if that is the case?

Another issue is that my PC cannot install a recent update for outlook 2003 junk email filter (KB932330). It just cannot install it but never tells the reason why and it keeps on trying. I am completely lost with this.

I would very much appreciate any help.

Many thanks in advance,

Tim

I can at least answer this part : prepare your XP CD (if a file is corrupt, you'll need it), then go to start => run, and type "sfc /scannow". This will launch the system files scanner.

Have you made a thorough search for malwares ? Check the link in my sig. If you go through the 5 steps, don't forget to post your HJT log in the HJT section, and not here.

Just moved and unloaded my Laptop and Desktop. Prior to moving both worked fine on the wireless connection.
Now, everything is plugged in and on, wireless connection signal is strong as ever but I can no longer search the Internet, just says, "the address is not valid" with the generic IE screen.

What happened? Most threads are about new computers, these are not new, everything was find until I moved.

Help!

A:Please help the technical meek

Do you use broadband?
If so have you told the broadband company you have moved?
I would check your router to ensure it can get the internet.

I used to find Windows Media Player had a useful automatic cleanup option when 5 or more mp3s were found in the library without an actual mp3 file to relate too....

I want to know why now when i have 7 or 10 tracks that have been removed by myself, when i go to play them (forgetting i removed them) do i no longer get the option pop up asking if i would like WMP to cleanup the library!?!?

I use Windows 7 btw

Hi all
Today I have received a phone call from a Technical Support Service, which claims my Computer system has been flagged up as having some serious errors on my computer. They asked my some questions regarding what I used the internet for and how many devices are used in the house. They then gave me instructions to use RUN command and open eventviewer, under Administrative events they asked me what I could see.. and it was aload of errors and warnings.. they then told me that the internet has downloaded these files on my computer with out me knowing and they can cause problems with the system. ( Fortunate that I have had some issues with my explorer BUT found that it was a recent Windows update that had conflicted a file in explorer so I unistalled it and re-installed explorer..Problem gone ). So she then told me I was going to speak to a technician that wanted me to go to this website Link Removed By Moderator which I did but I then realized they wanted what looked like re-mote access to my computer. And that was when I questioned everything they were trying to do... they said no malware, spyware or anti virus program will detect these files and they needed access to run a scan on my computer but depending on the seriousness of how bad it is a one time fee may be applied so I told the man (NO MATE YOU NOT GETTIN ON HERE) which he then replied that my system health is goin to be affected and if im not interested in the help offered then BYE ...

Is this a scam to sell me sof... Read more

Hello all! Have a laptop running xp, its a old one, Latitude Cpx Pentium 3. THe problem is my screen is black, i can see slightly when the sun hits it on an angle. I tryed everything, i even tryed my monitor but theres another problem with the laptop. When i turn it on it boots on into the Safe mood stuff right, when you shut it down wrong it goes their. I used Original Windows, curent confirgurationh, and safe mode. But all those dont work, plz help im haveing trouble.

A:Hello, have technical problems, plz help.

dude, you have a hardware problem. your lcd backlights are not working, which is why the screen is black, but does have an image when the sun hits it. to fix that you'll need new ccl backlight blubs and the ballest to run them, not something most people can do, and costs alot.
as far as the rest of your problem, your grammer is so bad i don't understand what your are trying to say. it boots okay to safemode after improperly shutdown, but won't boot if you try to select what mode to boot into?
please clearify so that we can get you more info. go ahead and take the time to write a novel if you need to, the more info we have from you, the more likly we'll get you the correct help.
