I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Part 1. How to Connect Android to PC in USB ModeStep 1: Connect your Android phone into computer using a USB cable. You can use the same cable that you use to charge it.Step 2: Tap the ?USB? option from the Notification Panel on your Android device, then select ?MTP? mode.Step 3: Wait while the driver is installed, then open the ?Computer/This PC?, you?ll find your Android device. The procedure above is a normal connection between Android device and PC. I have 3 different Android phones: two MotoG2 and a Samsung S4.  Windows 10 Pro is all up to date; the latest is Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 (KB3150513) on 3/26/17.  Today I went to transfer files from my MotoG2 (Android 6.0) and it wasn't recognized.  "Transfer Files (MTP)" is selected on pnone.  This happens with all 3 Android phones.  In Device Manager, Portable Devices, all 3 phones are listed as "MTP" with an exclamation point (instead of the usual XT1064 for my MotoG2).  Uninstalling "MTP", rebooting the PC, and connecting the phones to reinstall the drivers doesn't work.  The phones are just flat not recognized as Android devices, just as Generic "MTP" with exclamation point.  I downloaded and installed Intel Atom Processor drivers for Android devices, and it didn't change anything.  One other PC I have has the same W10 update installed (KB3150513) and it recognizes the phones, no problem.  It is not an Intel machine.  I have no problem reading USB drives, and a Garmin GPS (as a mass storage device) on the 100S USB Ports.  I have been transfering files between my phones and the 100S for several months before this problem emerged.  This is the first time I've tried the connection on my 100S, since the KB3150513 W10 Update.  Help!  Thank you.

So, my husband bought me a Lenovo Yoga Book last year for Christmas. I like it. I think it's cool to be able to draw on the paper (which is what I do traditionally) and have it show up digitized on the screen. I was able to do a couple of cool projects sketches on it, but I haven't used it to it's full potential I believe, so I put it down for a while. Then, I started to research different drawing apps, seeing all the amazing artwork that people were creating in these different apps and stuff, and it got me excited about going back to drawing on my Yoga Book. So, I went to try to draw in ArtRage, and when I would try to draw on the Wacom tablet with my pen, nothing would show up. However, when I would draw on the screen with my finger, everything showed just fine. I tried to update it several times, I tried starting it over, I tried using a different drawing app; NOTHING. The only time the pen would work on the Wacom Tablet is in Notesaver. Even if I had ArtRage open, anything that I try to write on the tablet will only come up in Notesaver. I wasn't trying to just factory reset it right off so I called technical support to see if there was anything that they would be able to do to fix it without me having to factory reset it.So, I called tech support and they told me that I would have to pay a fee of $40 to be escalated to their software support. So I paid the $40, and within 3 MINUTES  of speaking to me, the tech tells me to just factory reset it. I was LIVID. Like, th... Read more

Last night I went ahead and took the plunge ... Updated the Firmware on my Archos 70 Internet Tablet 250GB (2.1.3 - Android 2.2.1).

My tablet still worked after the update. Slower than before though.

This morning I found out that I can't get online!

None of my four radio apps work (they all worked fine before).

Bible.is no longer works.

All three of my browsers no longer work.

Firmware Update doesn't work (can't connect to the Internet).

Wi-Fi shows that my Archos is connected to my Internet service. My son and I are both online with our computers, so there is nothing wrong with our Internet connection.

Looks like I have no choice now, but to reformat the Archos and start all over again (for the 4th time!!!!) .... That will be very time consuming, as I will have to download all of my many apps all over again, and then reload all of my files all over again ....

Hi there

Vodafone is of course 2,000,000% useless on their call centres.

What you need to do is whether or not you backed up first -- INSTALL KIES / KIES3 for Samsung S5 on your PC --it works on W10.

BACKUP your phone

Do a complete system reset

Restore.

There are a number of Android apps (Google Play-sourced only), mainly photo and video-related, which I like a lot, although I don't really like using a tablet. I've researched a bit into Android emulators which run on Windows 7 e.g. here

6 best Android emulators for PC | Android Authority

A:Does running an Android emulator bring Android-type security risks?

First of all, it's simply not true that Android has "lots of security flaws". Of course it's not immune to viruses and attackers, but it's not inherently that its an immense risk in it. There are vulnerabilities, but most problems actually came from using untrusted software that abuses the devise. As always, the number one vulnerability in any system is the user.

Now to business. There is no exact answer to that question. It will greatly depend on what emulator do you use and how it's exactly implemented, how does it manages to run Android software and how much does it emulated and how exactly. Frequently, I would expect a different implementation of the Android low level API, meaning that bugs in Android will never afect an emulator (which in turn can have its own bugs), unless some behavior is there "by design", in which case the emulator should attempt to copy it.
Besides, I would expect the emulator to isolate the host computer from malicious Android software (which is not generally aware of Windows existence). Unless an Android virus specifically targets a particular flaw of a particular version of a particular emulator (which as already happened with virtual machines), I won't worry too much about it.

The comes the problem of what programs do you install on the emulated Android. When you install a virus there, it will attempt to do the same malicious actions than it would do on a real phone. Some actions will work the same, for example those i... Read more

Hello!  So it sounds like there is a problem with the drivers.  I would go here and make sure you have the latest drivers for your computer, depending on OS of your laptop.  Generally if there is anything special that needs to be done, it would be on the phone manufacture's side of things so maybe there is an updated USB driver for your phone somewhere?  In general there wouldn't be anything that Dell can do about it since its technically a Samsung problem.

It's official: Android N will be called Android Nougat

After teasing the announcement earlier, Google has formally announced the name of Android N, which will be Nougat.

Google first released the Android N Developer Preview back in March, but the company didn't formally announce it until its Google I/O developer conference in May. The firm then asked for users to submit feedback on what the name should be.

Android Nougat is expected to ship within the next couple months, but it's worth noting that the current version of Android, Marshmallow, is only on 10.1% of Android devices. Nougat certainly has its work cut out for it if it wants to gain significant traction.

The company didn't reveal the version number for the next iteration of its mobile OS, but it has been leaked that it will be Android 7.0 Nougat.

Google officially concludes Beta Program for Android Nougat; Android O Beta coming soon

Back in March 2016, Google released the "Android N" Developer Preview for a few supported devices. The aim of the program was to allow the company more time to incorporate developer feedback, and to submit the final version of the release to hardware manufacturers for early testing.

Google has now announced that the Android Nougat Beta Program is complete, and that a Beta for the next version of the operating system will be released soon.

Before the official release of Android 7.0 Nougat to the general public, five Developer Previews were seeded out to those willing to test early builds of the operating system on their devices. After the general rollout of the aforementioned iteration of Android, Google also released two versions of Android 7.1 to users in the Developer Preview.

However, now with "Android O" on the horizon, Google has concluded the Beta Program for Android Nougat, saying that:

Thank you for your interest in the Android Beta Program! The beta for Android Nougat has concluded, and all devices that were opted in have been updated to the current public version. If you are still running a beta version of Nougat you may download the latest full OTA image for your device and sideload it. This will not wipe your device. We'll update this site when the Android O Beta Program begins.

Spoiler (Highlight to read)IMPORTANT!!IMPORTANT!!Friends from Lenovo,Yesterday I did the update to the new version of Windows 10, called Windows 10 Fall Creators Update or Windows 10, version 1709, and after the update was done I find out that the hotkey driver, that controls the Fn commands on the keyboard of my Lenovo ThinkPad X220, doesn`t work correctly with this new version of Windows 10. Therefore, I would like to know what can I do to fix this issue, so the hotkey commands work properly again in my notebook, or if it is going to be an update of this file (8jvu43ww.exe) that I could install in my notebook to fix this issue. Could you please tell me what can I do to make the Fn commands work properly with the new update of Windows 10 (Windows 10 Fall Creators Update) or if it is going to be an update of the hotkeys that is compatible with the new version of Windows 10?I look forward to hear your comments, and I hope you already have an idea, an answer to solve this issue. Yours truly,Cristián Palau

A:Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Hotkey Update for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Intel 2nd gen CPU machines are not supported in Windows 10. 3rd gen (X230) is the first one.

T460p here. After I updated my Windows 10 to Fall Creator Update - Lenovo System Update Shows 11 Updates that are already installed - so it want's to install the same drivers over and over again. Probably a bug. Anyone with the same experience?

Hello,I have a Lenovo Thinkpad W540 which is out of warranty.  While using the Lenovo System Update utility to update the BIOS, the BIOS update failed, and now my W540 will no longer boot.  Is there a way to restore the BIOS without replacing the system board? Is there a place where can I download the BIOS file (not only the upgrade utility)? Thank you!
