Aspire 5560 Laptop Compatible Charger

Q: Aspire 5560 Laptop Compatible Charger

I'm troubleshooting a laptop for a friend that can't find his charger for a Aspire 5560. I thought I had a spare charger but I don't have a compatible charger that fits this model. My first question is, where can I find a compatible charger that fits this model and charges at 19.5V? Is there an all in one of interchangeable power pack I can purchase? My second question is, can I power the battery another way? thanks!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

On my Aspire 5560 the BIOS only starts partially and then circls back to the beginning. Therefore I can't hit F2 to go into BIOS setup or hit F12 to change boot order. It just keeps cycling. It started when I recently installed a new SSD and reloaded Windows 10 and a few days after I tried to download WIndows updates.I've seen some posts where I might need to flash the BIOS. I tried to download the BIOS from the Acer site, put it on a USB drive and then hold Ctrl and Esc while I power on the laptop. But no luck.  Any suggestions are welcomed.

I upgraded my Aspire 5560 notebook from Windows 7 to Win 10, So far, everything is running smoothly, except for 100% disk usage right after start-up. It lasts about 10 minutes, then stops. I have done some tweaks and a lot of research and that problem I can now live with. My dilema is this: Acer has a bios update for my notebook, and a firmware update which is supposed to improve hard disk efficiency. Since I have upgraded the operating system to Win 10, I am a little afraid to apply either of these updates, especially since my system is pretty stable. Obviously with such a legacy notebook, Acer does not support Win 10 on a 5560. If something goes wrong with the above updates, I am totally on my own. Anyone think it is worth the risk of installing them? Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it!

https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/3818?b=1 If your model is the one of the above link, updating BIOS is not so mandatory since the changelog is related to AMD graphic card support. About the update for the HDD, is for the WD (western digital) model, it's a firmware update nothing related to BIOS; if your HDD is the original WD, you can check the firmware version of your HDD first (i suppose the firmware updater will give you this information); keep in mind that an HDD firmware update sometimes will reset the HDD as it was new, so there's a possibility that you lost your data. so, do a full backup prior to update the HDD firmware.

Alrighty, well, I have searched around for Broadcom's site and here a little bit. Those results from here seem to pull up the same version driver as I currently have installed. Also, the Broadcom how-to's on finding drivers are very confusing and based on that it shows I have a card that doesn't seem right... one that has bluetooth and much more. If I do have all that, it'd be awesome to be able to use. As a last resort, which I HATE doing as a rule of thumb used DriverBooster which when I use theirs it seems to cause more connectivity issues so I keep rolling back to the previous version. I feel it is highly unlikely to NOT have a driver update on this hardware since 2011; however, I am not able to seem to find one using Broadcom's site that is straight forward nor find one that doesn't seem to create issues in speed. So, is there a new driver for this card?PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4358&SUBSYS_E040105B&REV_00I know on Broadcom's site that the DEV_4358 means it would be BCM4358 and the service option shows BCM43XX; I am just seeming to find it difficult to find BCM4358 via their site. Lots of Broadcom BCM43** but nothing under 4358 nor 43xx, I am not sure that just ANY 43xx driver will work? I find this: https://www.broadcom.com/products/wireless-connectivity/wireless-lan/bcm4358 And that's about it.

Hi everyone I'm at my wits end! I cannot get my webcam to work. I have tried numerous options posted in different forums and on websites but nothing seems to work. Even when I went to the Acer update driver search site. When I added my model number I got about a dozen driver options but as soon as I put in my OS Windows 7 (64 Bit) it came back with no drivers. I've noticed in a number of forums that peoples webcams where working fine in Windows XP but when they updated to Windows 7 they lose the ability for their computers to find their webcams. Is this an inherent problem with Windows 7 and is there anyway to fix it short of buying an external webcam. Surly there must be a way to get it to work !!!

I need a new charger because mine just blew up after 3 years of loyal service (thankfully my laptop wasn't harmed). However, I am unsure what charger to get because when I look at chargers on the HP store's webpage and click on a charger, under the "compatible devices" section, my laptop's model name isn't listed under any of these. My laptop is only 3 years old so I don't understand why I am having so much trouble finding out a compatible adapter for it. The charger I've been using for the past 3 years has the following specifications:120WInput: 100-240V ~ 50-60Hz 2.0AOutput: 19.5V  6.15A I have no idea what those figures mean, so if someone could reccommend a safe and suitable replacement charger while I nurse my electrocuted thumb I'd be very grateful!

Hello All, I just purchased a spectre 13-v001na and I had no idea at the problems of only having usb-c ports. i am not very technical and have been doing some reading here in london. I need to find a compatible device that will allow me to charge the spectre, hardwire it to the internet and connect it to a monitor. i am worried that hp don't seem to allow the machine to connect with a lot of devices / that there are some usb-c chargers that might damage the machine? so if anyone knows of the best value adapter that works on the spectre that also charges it that would be great. also which are the best value cables to connect devices to the laptop directly i guess? is there a way to charge my cell phone off the spectre; or would it charge off the adapter? finally is there a battery pack/portable charger that would work to charge the spectre? or has battery technology still not got that far? thanks in advance for any help and sorry if i havent explained it so well

My Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 doesn't recognize charger any more. And unfortunately my warranty expired 2 month ago.It was plugged in and working in the morning, but then in the afternoon I noticed that it was running on the battery only. It wont start without battery (just charger plugged in).
1. So here what I have done to debug. Me and my brother, we have purchased the same Dell laptops at the same time a year and a bit ago. This is why for a debugging purposes it was good.I took my charger and plugged in to his computer. And it works. Definitely not the charger issue I guess. And when I plug charger in to my computer, green light is still on the charger. And I have the original charger that came with the laptop.
2. Now, laptop works on the battery only, so this means that motherboard is working. I guess.
3. Next thing I did was unplugged charger and removed the battery from the laptop. Then I pushed and hold "Power" button for 45 seconds to discharge a flea charge. Plugged charger back in but laptop wont start.
4. Next I started laptop on the battery, went to BIOS and checked if the charger is recognized in the BIOS. No, it doesn't recognize charger. So, if it is not a charger then what else can it be?
5. Laptop doesn't have any strange smells so I'm not sure if anything happened with the motherboard, but I would assume mother board is ok because it works of the battery.
6. I was thinking updating the BIOS, but I can't, because it wont update whi... Read more

A:Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 doesn't work with charger. Charger is not recognized. Not charger problem.

Hi CJ777,
Thanks for reaching out with your query. You pretty much figured out all points of failure. Good job.
If the adapter is not detected in BIOS, it most likely is an issue with the mother board. In the BIOS set up, AC adapter should show up as 65w or 90w. If the adapter status is 'None' or 'Unknown Device Installed', it indicates that the mother board is not detecting the adapter for which the battery is not getting charged. Once the battery charge drains, I'm sure the adapter will not charge it again. Replacing the system board should resolve this issue.

Hello! As the title says, I have an Aspire 7551 laptop--it's a bit old, so I realize that may be the problem, but I do want to troubleshoot before assuming it's just crapped itself. The other day, it stopped recognizing its charger. We at first assumed it was the battery, and bought a new one, but nope. Also tried 3 different chargers after that and still nothing. The new battery works, but but the laptop itself isn't acknowledging that there's a charger plugged in, and is running off of straight battery life. The physical laptop itself isn't particularly damaged, aside from general wear and tear from age, and the charger port seems undamaged.Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, Used my Aspire s7-191-6447 (Windows 8.1) as recently as last night without problems. This morning, LEDs are dark, even when the charger is plugged in, and it doesn't start. My voltmeter shows the charger output as +42 V, which seems way high even without a load (nominal is +19 V / 3.42 A). This laptop has an external battery pack that is marked as nominal input +19V / 3.42 A and output +11.1 V / 484 mA. (So it appears the actual operating voltage going into the laptop itself is +11.1 V. I'm confused about why the voltage would be further stepped down, but whatever.) I removed the external battery pack from the laptop, hooked it up with the charger, and looked at its output (i.e., the second plug that goes into the laptop). Same +42 V. Has anyone seen such a high unloaded voltage coming out of their LiteOn charger? Is it likely to have fried the laptop? Thanks in advance,Doug

I've had a second-generation 20 gig iPod for three years. I ALWAYS charged it with an Apple wall charger, Model A1070, which has output marked 13 volts, 0.62 amps. This iPod started getting glitchy, so today I bought a new 80gig iPod Classic. I want to fully charge the new iPod before I do anything else.

But can I use the three-year-old A1070 wall charger? The A1070 cable clicks into the Classic dock connector just fine, but I am afraid to plug the charger into the wall unless I am sure it is compatible. The wall charger (model MB051LL/A) currently being sold on the Apple website (here: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...SQ3Ep419NXsrhY) looks pretty much the same as the A1070 on the outside -- but I saw reference somewhere to the function of some connector pins being changed so that some older iPod accessories are incompatible with the newer models. Also, I think I saw on a website that the new charging input specs are 12 volts at 1 amp, but now I can't find that page now and I'm not sure of that. I hate to buy a new charger if its not needed.

I reccently purchased the Aspire ATC-220-EB52, and am looking to install a GTX 750ti ( https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-750Ti-Graphics-02G-P4-3753-KR/dp/B00IDG3IDO/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=U... ) into it. I was wondering, is the Graphics Card compatible with the computer, and how and what needs to be done to install it. (I realize I will need a better power supply, such as a 500W or 650W. Thanks

Why when i put on my laptop charger laptop goes up to 80 degrees celicus It gets really hot but when i take it off it goes down

A:When putting in laptop charger, laptop goes up to 80 degrees celcius

Thats because the system "steps down" the CPU, GPU, Display brightness among other thing when the computer is running on batteries. With some tweaking you can make it run at 80 degrees all the time, but your battery wont last long. You may also notice it responds a bit better when running on mains. With regards to getting it to run cooler on mains. I have never really tried tuning a computer the other way but someone here may be able to advise. I was expecting to see AMD CPU in your specs and I would in that case say it was normal. Other than that you may have high levels of dust build-up or failed fans inside. If you know someone experienced with laptop repair you could get them to take a look and give it a clean out.

I have a Acer Aspire One D255, and would like to know if its likely to be Windows 10 compatible.
I have been through numerous websites seeking advice but they all just include the standard microsoft release. "use the button that displays at bottom of screen"
As you can imagine that button hasn't appeared on my screen.

Surely here on the Acer web site there can be a definitive list by now of which systems will be compatible?

Any help would be appreciated, obviously I assume meanwhile that its not compatible. which of course leaves me with a decision whether to uopgrade to a more up to date laptop. based on this level of support it wouldnt be Acer !

des09 ha escrito:Thanks for this, have you got details of the RAM that fits the D255? Thanks in advance.  PC3 10600 or 1333mhz _________________________________________________________________________________________________ I just installed a 2GB DDR3 PC10600 - 1333mhz memory, a SSD (Kingston V300 120GB SATA III, working at system SATA II speed) and Windows 10. Even with no UEFI support, the machine boots in 15 sec. Basic task are really fast. In video or live streaming it could be some lag but is normal cause its weak GMA vintegrated video. But is some improve I can try now. Windows version I installed was 64 bits. Is known that 64 bits systems needs at least 4GB to run fluenty. So I'm going to install W10 32 bits and male the system more stable but that CPU bottleneck.

The Aspire V5 Touch comes preinstalled with Windows 8 which isn't doing or looking too hot right now. I'm in the process of updating to Windows 10 but then thought I should've checked first to see  if this laptop is even compatible with Windows 10. It's a new laptop, and I'd hate to mess it up trying to make it better. Any help?

A:Is Acer Aspire V5 Touch compatible with Windows10?

I haven't tried to update one myself, since I don't have one update, but there should be no problem with touch drivers.

I recently purchased the AXC...UW61 minitower. I've scavenged an old AMD Radeon HD 5570 512mb graphics card and I'm wondering if it's possible for me to install it to the aspire. The GC is a bit over 6 years old, and was used for long sessions of overclocked gaming. I don't expect it to last much longer, but for the time being is it safe?

Hello guys:

I'm wondering if anyone can help me out here. I have an Acer Aspire M1100 desktop computer that has a dead motherboard. I can't find the replacement for the exact motherboard as it is no longer available.

Here's a link to what's inside it. http://www.ascendtech.us/acer-aspire-m1100-rs690m03-motherboard_i_mb64ars690m038e.aspx

I'd like to find the exact one or a motherboard that will work with the processor it already has. Don't need anything special, just something that will be compatible in it's place.

Any suggestions guys?

Thanks in advance!

A:Looking for an Acer Aspire M1100 Compatible Motherboard

The problem is often the case. Big box systems ie dell, hp, etc are proprietary; that is they are made to the mfg's spec and NOT industry standard spec. A standard atx mb may or may not fit correctly in the case. You have to measure the case, check standoff locations, etc.

Next issue is the os. Windows oem type license is valid only with the original hardware ie mb. The only board you can replace it with is the replacement you purchase from acer. Any other mb will require a new copy of windows.

In short if you are doing this for a learning experience, that is fine. Any other reason is just not cost effective; ie it is going to cost you way more to fix it than to just purchase a new system.

So I have an Acer Aspire V5-591G that fell while I was travelling (never going to travel by bus at long distances again!) and it needs a matrix replacement. However, I am having difficulties finding what matrixes are compatible with it.I have given it to an authorized repair center but I'm afraid they're going to want too much money, which I at the moment do not have. It's 15'6 with 1920x1080 FULL HD resolution. Thank you for your time
