N23 does not PXE boot to SCCM

Q: N23 does not PXE boot to SCCM

I am trying to image an N23 laptop via PXE to connect to our SCCM server. It appears to be connecting initially but then just boots into windows. Below is the information that I have so far that seems relevent. Let me know if there is something else that would be helpful. >>>Start PXE over IPv4.Station IP address is 10.8.8.48Server IP address is 10.8.0.58NBP filename is smsboot\x64\wdsnbp.comNBO filesize is 39932 BytesDownloading NBP file?Succeed to download NBP file. It is correctly seeing the server (10.8.0.58) and appears to be correctly pulling the boot file. After it succeeds the download though it just loads into the pre-installed Windows anyways.Using a Cable Matters 202013-BLK usb to RJ45 adapter. BIOS version 2QCN18WW

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently recieved  a new HP Probook 640 G2.  This computer will not read my cd boot disk or my usb boot drive.  Currently, we are using SCCM 2012 R2 with Windows PE 5.0    Normally if there is a network driver compatibility issue the computer will at least try to boot into windows PE and then bomb.  In this situation, the computer will not even read the USB or CD.  I am guessing there is some kind of compatiblity issue with the windows PE, but wondered if anyone has come across a similar situation?

Hello,I have an issue with a ZBook 17 G3. Context :I am trying to deploy an image created by Microsoft SCCM, and to make it work I have to boot with an USB key in Legacy mode. Issue:  When I boot in legacy with the Usb key, I get the following error : There isn't enough memory available to create a ramdisk device Why ? The laptop have 64GB of RAM, the BIOS can see this amount so there is no hardware problem. Is there any BIOS option to enable ? I already tried a lot of different options & it is not working.  Regards, Thomas VAXELAIRE

We're using SCCM to configure all our notebooks with Windows 10 and using BCU in a tasksequence to configure the correct settings. With both the 820 G3 and the 850 G3 we've run into a problem with activating bitlocker automatically. This happens because a BIOS setting, which was available on the previous models, is missing: Activate TPM on next boot: Enable Why this setting is needed is explained here. Without this option, enabling bitlocker automatically from a tast sequence fails which results in a lot of manual work after SCCM is finished. Until now, I've found no alternative to accomplish this so it seems that the new Elitebooks can't be deployed in a professional way (in a corporate setting). I hope that I'm overlooking something here or that HP will bring back this setting in a future BIOS update?

I've never had issues deploying replicated BIOS Settings using the HP utility with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, especially when disabling Secure boot, but now this hardware requires you to verify the changes by entering a randomized 4 digit code. Does any know if this process could be automated? Thank you,  -R

Does anybody know how to get Windows 7 clients to point at an SCCM server for Windows Updates, rather than pointing at the web?

A:Windows 7 and SCCM

Since you've got SCCM, you've got a domain - use group policy to configure the WU options to point to the SCCM server. Usually I disable WU though, because I'm using SCCM for patch deployment.

So, I had errors occurring in SCCM (Version 1702), and not being able to login to the SQL database, I decided it was easier to do a complete reinstall of SCCM with a new instance of SQL 2016.. However I've now got different issues that I'm having trouble resolving.

We're only a small organisation with around 300 PC's, but spread over several locations. Initially in SCCM I had the client pushed out, several DP's, and Windows 7, and 10 both being deployed as well with no issues. Since the reinstall I have been unable to get the client to install on any PC's - even new ones that have never had the client previously, I'm also unable to pxe boot.

I've distributed both the x64 and x86 boot images, enabled PXE on the DP, the options in DHCP are still there from the previous install obviously but for reference option 67 is "smsboot\x64\wdsnbp.com"

The client gets the initial boot file from the server, then instead of loading WinPE I get:

"The Windows Boot Configuration (BCD) file from the PXE server does not contain a valid operating system entry. Ensure that the server has boot images installed for this architecture"

I've read that turning off PXE on the DP, then waiting and re-enabling it will work, however it hasn't done so for me.. I wonder if this and the client not being installed anywhere are linked to the same problem.

I'll apologise in advance if that seems a little vague, but I'm fairly n... Read more

Trying to push Java 7u9 through SCCM. 1st, a batch file runs to uninstall all previous versions from the client. Then, 7u9 is installed, but it's not. Java installer starts,I see the Welcome to Java screen. Then when I click Next I get an error stating that the file to be installed cannot be found or is invalid (something like that).

However, when I run the installer manually, it works fine. Any ideas?

Sounds like the EXE was just a self extracting executable.

See How to Install a Driver when there's no Installation .EXE file to run. Is there a .INF file in the top level directory? If yes, install by hand per instructions in that post. If the INF isn't in top level, i would think there should an EXE file there to do the install

hi, We use SCCM and rely on SCUP (Config Manager) to provide updated drivers to our user base.  In general, we find a several week delay between the time the driver is visible in Softpaq Download Manager and the time it is is available to download in the SCUP catalog in SCCM.  In other cases it takes even longer (or maybe they never show up). there are a couple of specific drivers i can mention, but in general, how do we get help with these kinds of issues?  Should i post these types of issues here and expect someone from HP to respond?  Should i open a ticket? Lastly, we see drivers and BIOS in SCUP but we do not see firmware updates there.  Specifically, we want to deliver firmware for the USB-C docks that are recommended by HP (for Zbook and Folio G1) and are unable to find the firmware in SCUP, but we do see it in SDM. thanks.

Hi all.

I've just received a shiny Z30-B (PT251A-008002) which will - if I can get this working - become the new workhorse for the work fleet.
Nice machine.

My only hurdle so far, is the very first one, getting it to boot into WinPE so I can apply a Task Sequence, and build it from SCCM.
I've found the correct LAN driver on the Intel website and applied it to the boot image, but it doesn't work.
I require the WinPE drivers.

The Intel package does contain "WinPE" drivers, but they don't actually seem to apply to my model laptop (if I look in the .inf file), and do not load, I tried them anyway.

If there was an SCCM driver package for this laptop, it would be awesome.
Failing that, just the LAN driver for WinPE would be perfect.

Appreciate any help or advice.

Thanks
Ryan

A:Capture and deploy T610 OSD image with SCCM PXE

The Imaging plug-in for HP Thin Clients can only be used to deploy images and has no capture facilities. You can however, capture a custom image using HP Device Manager or ThinState, and then deploy that image using the SCCM plug-in.
