Band Hero Drums won't work with Wii AC/DC Live Rock Band

Q: Band Hero Drums won't work with Wii AC/DC Live Rock Band

My Wii Band Hero Drums won't work with Wii AC/DC Live Rock Band.

I was all keen to belt out some AccaDacca beats with my newly acquired drum kit but as soon as I plug it in, my controller stops working! The game simply won't recognise that I have any active controllers until I unplug the drum kit. I've sent a query to Electronic arts about a week ago but haven't had a response yet. Has anyone else experienced this problem and importantly, is there a solution? Many thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Heya folks....I have a heck of a question.

I notice my kids Rock Band video game drum pad kit uses usb. How would I go about using it on my computer? I am a musician and thought it would be nifty. ALso...same question for the microphone.

Any ideas??

So far I downloaded and installed "usb-game-controller-setup" but it doesn't make the microphone work at all....

ALSO...I discovered that the mic is a Logitech Vantage USB Mic, and even when I tell my computer to record using it, I hear no sound. DOH....

A:Using Rock Band Drum Pads for my PC

The drums are just an Xbox-360 controller with a different button arrangement. As such, the computer would probably just identify the device as a standard controller. So you would need a program that would assign different sounds to different buttons.

In short, probably more trouble than it's worth.

OK, this is my first time being a part of or using a tech related forum so here it goes:

I'm trying to help save a neighbor some money by fixing their wireless network.

WNDR3700 Dual band Netgear router.

2.4ghz wireless b/g/n with enabled SSID broadcast, channel=auto, mode set to 130Mbps
WPA-TKIP + WPA2-AES. wireless isolation is not enabled.

5Ghz wireless a/n enabled SSID broadcast, channel = 44, Mode is up to 300Mbps
No security encription. (i know...bad, but the lady has lots of kids and family members coming
and going from the house so she doesn't want one encripted). Video network enabled

Both Radio frequencies are enabled, fragment and CTS/RTS set to max

WPS settings = keep existing.

IPv6 not enabled, No repeating is enabled, No guest networks are enabled(however ssid broadcast is enabled for guest profile 1)
The problem, and reason for fixing the problem is that the 2.4 Ghz band light on the router is ON however the SSID is not being seen by any client in the house. the netgear interface says it is on and working. the neighbor needs the 2.4ghz band to work because the printer is wireless and will only recognize 2.4Ghz SSIDs. Also they have older nintendo DS clients they would like to use on the network.

During the day the 5 Ghz band works with very seldom (1-2) disconnects while the 2.4 Ghz band wont be visible to any device. in the evening both bands will come online, and very often will every computer get disconnected from either, the 5Ghz band wi... Read more

Hi there!

So about 2 months ago, I purchased the AC53 when I moved in to a house share.
We have Virgin Media SuperHub that does both 2.4ghz and 5ghz.
When I installed it, it worked fine and connected excellently to the 5G band, a few days ago however the 5G connection disappeared off my list and now it always connects me to the 2.4ghz band.

Tried resetting my SuperHub and re-installing the drivers and software utility for the AC53 but alas it doesn't show. My phone however can find and connect to the 5G band.

I'm a bit confused as where to go from here!

Any help would be much appreciated!

A:ASUS USB-AC53 Dual Band - Can't detect 5Ghz band

After re-installing you can't connect at all or just only connect to 2.4?

Can you run ipconfig /all and post back the results.
Click Start, in the search box type cmd, under programs right click on cmd and select "Run as Administrator".
In the command prompt window type ipconfig /all and press enter.
Next right click within the command prompt and select "Select All" press enter.
Paste the results back in this thread.

N600 Wireless Dual Band Router WNDR3400.

I am trying to get a signal out in my garage at the opposite end of my router location. I am getting 1 bar and "poor" signal. I downloaded inSSIDer to analyse my signal and I notice that my "Wireless Network (5GHz a/n)" is not broadcasting anything. The checkbox for "Enable SSID Broadcast" is checked.

I have very limited knowledge of this stuff but it seems to me that if it is a dual band that I should be seeing 2 different signals, right?

All I see is this: Wireless Network (2.4GHz b/g/n)

I have attached screenshot of my settings

Can someone help me out with this? Thanks, Joe

My Billion BiPAC 7800VDOX Dual Band Wireless VoIP ADSL2+ Router has two bands:  2.4GHz and 5GHz.  and is wirelessly connected to my laptop OMEN by HP Laptop PC  17-w007tx.  It always shows as connected via 5GHz band only.  My laptop also shows 5GHz band only in the list of available networks;  2.4GH does not show up in the list of available networks.  It is not so in my other laptop which is also connected to the same router and that laptop shows both the bands in the list of available networks.  Thus, I can choose to connect to any of the two bands as per my choice. I have tested the router and it is working perfectly; there is nothing wrong with it.I wonder what can possibly be wrong in my OMEN laptop that it does not show both the bands which it should. At times, when I click to open the list of available networks, 2.4GHz may appear momentarily only and then disappears; thus I can not choose it for connection. I would appreciate any help to resolve this issue so that my OMEN laptop shows both the bands in the list of available networks so as to choose either one for connection.

Is it odd that, according to InSSIDer, the 2.g Ghz band signal is stronger (-45) than that of the 5Ghz band (-61)? My router is a Netgear WNDR4500. Just wondering. Thanks.

A:2.g Ghz band signal stronger than 5Ghz band

It really depends on where your wireless router is compared to your computer.

5 GHz signals are effected more by walls, distance, etc. than 2.4 GHz.

Can my Toshiba Model Satellite Pro C870-1E2 laptop work on the 5Ghz band with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.Tried posing this question to Toshiba but there appears to be a technical hitch there so unable to forward my question to them.

A:Can Satellite Pro C870 work on 5Ghz band?

The Wlan frequency depends on the WLan card.
I think the notebook was equipped with the Realtek RTL8723AE WLan card which supports the 802.11 B / G / N standard

5Ghz is available only using 802.11 A or N

802.11 N standard operates at 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz but 5Ghz would be available ONLY if the WLan card would support additional 802.11 A standard; i.e 802.11 A / N.

But Realtek RTL8723AE doesn?t support 802.11 A and therefore the 5Ghz are not possible for this WLan module.

If you have a Windows PC with the problem ...

Please attach a screen shot of the Networks page (don't collapse the Radar, Connection or Signal History) of the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector. If you need help with a screen shot see TSG Posting a Screenshot. FWIW to take screen shots with Windows Vista or latter I prefer to use the built-in Snipping Tool.

do you mean a router
or as part of the laptop spec ?

what router do you have and does it work in dual band simultaneously

the advantage of the 5ghz signal is if you are in a crowded 2.4ghz environment then 5ghz helps avoid interference - also the coverage is wider - although the 5ghz router i have linksys - does not seem to be

if your current router only works in 2.4ghz , then no advantage in the short term

some routers are advertised as dual band - but you have to choose between 2.4 or 5 ghz and so ALL devices will need to support 5ghz

Is there an easy way to speed up my internet speed with this windows 8 without affecting my Windows Defender as far as any automatic updates, I don't want to affect things like that. My computer skills are limited, just average. If this is best I make no changes I wont. I would rather have this 4 or 5 month old laptop slow rather than not working at all hahahahaha. Thank,s Chuck

A:Band Width

Unless you have a dedicated high speed fibre optic connection all of your own, your internet connection performance is not governed by the capabilities of you computer, as a computer. The slowest performing computer available can process data quicker than any normal domestic connection can deliver it.
Internet performance depends on how each link in a communication chain works. The chain is : computer to router; router to modem; modem to exchange; exchange to ISP's servers. The only one you have any control over is the first section. Wi-fi performance is affected by distance, materials between computer and router, and aerial position and quality - and these you have some control over. You have no control over the bandwidth your ISP is delivering unless it is significantly less than you were offered when you took out the connection contract - then you start nagging them or change provider (if that is an option).
Go to www.speedtest.net to run a check on the bandwidth you are being supplied with. For a one-off test there is no need to set up an account, but it is useful if you wish to log changes over time.

For the benefit of those rebels (like me) that don't allow Windows to update itself automatically, you'll need to go to the Update site tomorrow to collect this important patch for the very serious 'hole' in IE 6 & 7 ; http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms10-mar.mspx

There will, apparently, also be a patch for IE 8 vulnerabilities rated as 'Critical'

"The out-of-band security bulletin is a cumulative security update for Internet Explorer and will also contain fixes for privately reported vulnerabilities rated Critical on all versions of Internet Explorer that are not related to this attack",so I'll have to install that, even though I don't use IE 8! (see the 'Affected Software' list for details).

Dear Friends, hope all is well...

I noticed this light grey band on my screen. It was about 2-3 inches wide running from top to bottom or vice versa. I took some screenshot's of the window ( see attachments)

Have any idea what it might be? The computer from what little I've used it "appears" to be work properly?

The things that have obviously changed are a new hard drive, upgraded to Windows 7 Professional from Vista and I switched from Avira Free to Avast Free. The hard drive and OS upgrade were done by professionals not me...

Not sure if it's related but this morning there was an AVAST upgrade available when I first booted the computer. That is the first time I've seen the line again in about a week. It does go away sometimes in a minute or it may take about 10 minutes.

I ran the Dell System Detect app and it passed OK.

Is this another DELL snafu?

Is there anything I can do on my end to get rid of this or minimize it???

Thank You in advance for your care, cooperation and attention to this matter.

I have had my t410s for a couple of months, yesterday a vertical band appeared in my display.  A quick search online brought up this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM9_ZM_8qkQ which is exactly what I see. I am about to lose my t410s for a couple of weeks (or so I am told by the Lenovo support rep), is this a problem that Lenovo is able to reliably fix?  (namely it is clearly endemic to the t410s as I have seen many posts on the matter, my concern is that their fix is just temporary until it happens again)   Do others who see this problem find that the repair sticks? btw, I have to say that the Lenovo return mechanism which required me to talk to someone I could barely understand did not help.    I used to love the Thinkpad line for its robust design (and had many), the T410s, which was not inexpensive, felt flimsy in comparison and having the screen die in such a short time is disconcerting (and seeing how many people are dealing with the same thing is a further concern).

did anyone tried editing gpedit.msc and gain 20% increase in band-width, like in browsing, downloading and in up-loading?
well i just did, when i suddenly remember what i did on my XP-SP3 before..out of curiosity i just tried this tweak and see if it`ll work in windows 7 and it did...so i would like to share this simple trick.
here`s the procedure:

CLick RUN then START BUTTON and TYPE; gpedit.msc
This will open the GROUP POLICY EDITOR
Doble Click the LIMIT RESERVABLE BANDWIDTH.It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab i.e. "By default, the Packet Scheduler Limits the system to 2O% of the BandWidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."So the TRICK is to ENABLE Reservable BandWidth, then set it to ZERO.
This will alllow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 2O%.
SO ENJOY and Have Fun...

just follow the images below with red circle....

A:Increasing Band-Width by 2O%

Thanks for sharing. What does it do? What does it give extra bandwidth to?

I have been experiencing the AOL spyware scanner pop-up showing that it has blocked "Command Services" as noted in several other theads on this forum. Also, I have been getting a Blue Screen upon boot-up only to be able to get around it by using "Last Known Good...." start-up option.

Here's a simple temporary solution:
1. Run MSCONFIG. Go through each tab and disable EVERY AOL task and service.
2. Re-boot
Note: I DID NOT un-install AOL program.

After doing this, I have successfully booted every time without Blue Screens and no more "Command Services" reports.

Until someone (I suspect AOL) comes up with a true fix for this issue, this will restore some normalcy to your boot-up.

1. After you get normal re-boots, Purge System Restore (turn it off) and turn it back on again.

2. Since most adware scanners (STOPxilla!, etc) requires a reboot to complete it's configuration, re-install those if they failed while you were having the Blue Screen problems.

3. Back-up your data. Wear your seatbelt.

I'm looking at getting some new routers for my (large) home. I have several desktop and laptop PCs as well as smartphones and tablets. COMCAST is my ISP. The COMCAST modem is an ARRIS TM722 and it connects to a LINKSYS/CISCO WRT160N wireless router that connects to 2 other wireless LINKSYS/CISCO routers in a sub-net. I've been looking at some duel-band routers. What does/can duel-band routers do for me? Some router models say XXXXXX-AC or XXXXXX-ACS. What does the AC or ACS do for me? I haven't picked a particular manufacturer yet, so my options are open.

My internet connection has been very iffy in the last year or so. There's another connection from across the street I can access but it's also not a good connection. (I live on a school campus with wireless campus set up).

IT guy said I should be sure I am connecting with Wireless N - not a/b/g.

How can I tell? I can't remember.

I have a dell laptop and it's not that old. It says in the hardware manager that it is capable of N. How do I check how it's connecting?

I have broadband internet with a router that has wireless built in. I connect wirelessly.

I dont want to pay to update my Realplayer to get the ten band graphic equalizer and dont want to have to "try it free for 14 days" over and over and ... . I asked a Geek Squad guy,
while putzing around the good guys, and he suggested I search Realplayer, equalizer, torrent!
After searching the forums I discovered torrents can be fraught with hazards and in most cases are illegal. This site goes so far as to restrict discussion of torrents. I am all for
playing by the rules , so, is anyone aware of a freeware 10 band graphic equalizer that would be compatible with Realplayer? I NEED MY SOUL AND I NEED TO HEAR IT AT ITS BEST!

Does having a N device on the same band (for example the 5GHz band) as an AC device slow down the AC device? I'm not sure if I should use the n/ac mix and allow N devices on my 5GHZ band or if this will slow down my AC devices on there.

A:Different wireless speeds on the same band

The N devices on my network do not slow down my AC devices other than the standard slowdown that comes with more devices on the same channel.
