I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I would love to find the owner of this device! I know it is a newer gen. iPod Touch or iPhone. I can't tell which. I have an iPod Touch and if there is some way to tell that it s a phone, I don't know what it is. It needs a code to get into it, so I cannot get any contact info to help me find the owner. I am going to get in touch with an Apple store and give them the serial number if I can get it off the back. If you can help, please give me suggestions! Thanks!

im not sure if this is in the right area but Hello, i just got a new computer. it is running xp, has 120 HD, 250 backup, 2gb RAM, Nvidia graphics card. A good computer. the only problem is when i sync my iPod Touch 2G (with iOS4) or my iPhone 3G (also with iOS4) with iTunes (iTunes 9.2 [latest]) it freezes up. it'll get past apps and stuff, but once it gets to music it freezes. ive waited hours and nothing happens. on task manager it say "Not Responding". and ive done everything; reinstalled itunes, restored both devices, set itunes at low (then high) priority in task manager, did the same for Sync Service(s), ended the Sync Service(s) task, and more! NOTHING is working! PLZ help! give me as many solutions as possible. thank you!

its not in DFU mode. i already did that whole deal. idk what else to do!
OH! and to see what would happen, i ran music while syncing and it froze but the music continued to play. and i cant open itunes at all

I saw some similair threads on the forum when looking for an answer, and the answer i found was to use the 'unplug device' icon in the bottom right corner. But the problem i have with this, is there is no icon there, i click the arrow to see the rest and still not there. Do i need to turn off my laptop everytime before unplugging mouse, or did i miss something? If further information is needed just let me know

Uninstall windows updates with the following Knowledge Base numbers (I haven't figured out which one is doing it quite yet)

Unfortunately I have an Iphone 2g with an unresponsive screen after I accidentally dropped it but no cracks and the software and interface seems fine.. my problem is that Its completely unresponsive to any touches whatsoever.. any ideas?

A:Iphone 2g 8gb Touch screen unresponsive.

There's no such model as an iPhone 2G. There's the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S.

Since it worked immediately before you dropped it, and it stopped working immediately after you dropped it, I'd say something is broken. Take it to your provider or authorized Apple repair center and see what your options are for repair. If it's more than 2 years old, and your contract allows for a discounted upgrade, that would be the best bet.

When  I unplug the power cord/charger from the computer when it is running the laptop will BlueScreen and reboot, message when this happens is Kernal_Security_Check_Failure.  Battery is fully charged and showing 100%.  The charger is outputting 19.5V DC.  I also tried another Dell charger I have and the computer does the same thing, bluescreens and reboots??  Ran Dell diagnostics on internet support and everything passes.  Drivers are up to date and it indicates devices are working properly.
Anyone had this happen and how to fix it?

the green bit isn't the crack right? I see that in the bottom left corner. I assume you want to know what to do to fix it well you might have to buy a replacement LCD screen. Im no expert on fixing things like these so it may well be repairable but im unsure. There is also a pane on glass on top of that LCD screen too. Look here for replacement parts.

About a month ago, I dropped my iPod Touch Second Generation and the screen cracked. It is still usable, but I would like to repair it. Apple gave me a quote of $120 dollars for the repair, however I have seen things on online stores like Amazon and eBay for less than $15. Are these safe to use and good quality? If so, where do you recommend I buy the replacement? I have read several reviews on such products warning me that I need to also buy a chassis/bezel, etc., because by opening the iPod these snap...or that I may also need to replace my home button...I am not sure exactly how broken my iPod is or what I need to purchase.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

In need of serious help.*
To begin, I am stupid and haven't backed up any of my files so for now a windows reinstall is out of the question. (unless it's completely necessary) okay, so the problem: I was using my computer as normal. Then while on Google Chrome, it started getting slow and said "not responding" this happens all the time, to everyone so I waited and then the dreaded Blue screen of death appeared. Didn't get a look at what it said because it shut down almost immediately. After that it loaded as normal? Which is weird, I think. But got stuck after startup on the black screen of death. All I have is a cursor. Can't do ctrl+alt+del, can't load any of the safe modes. When I go on startup repair, it says "no restore points" on system restore and "could not detect a problem" on system repair or whatever it's called. There must be something to fix this?! :/ I live in hope that the whole system doesn't need to be wiped clean because as I said, I stupidly haven"t backed up my files.*

Can anyone help?? Please?

Hello everyone.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L450D-13X computer for the kids, and for the price it's a good laptop. Have had no issues with it until two weeks ago when the screen froze for the boys whilst playing a game and downloading a program from the net. Had to do a force shutdown and since then we have a BSoD on every boot-up. This is what we have tried:

On 'Starting Windows' we are given an option of either 'Launch Startup Repair' which ends up as BSoD or 'Start Windows Normally' which reverts back to the 'Starting Windows' option list.
Any attempt to enter 'Safe Mode' results in BSoD.
Attempting to boot an ISO of the Windows Recovery Disk on a USB key (we did highlight it and promote it to the top) results in BSoD. Borrowing a proper Window 7 installation DVD and highlighting this as an option results in BSoD.

In fact, the only option we used that threw up something different was using advanced boot options. On one of these options we got the Blue Screen of Death with the following information:

Unmountable_Boot_Volume
Disable Bios Memory Options such as caching/shadowing

I don't mind erasing the hard drive and starting again, there's nothing on it that's critical. I'd very, very much appreciate a steer on this. Checked the web for stuff and nothing seems to assist in any other options. I am not particularly tech literate but can follow instructions.

I've been reading the postings, but still have a few questions.

Things I know: Running Windows XP. Was currently trying to fix a Vundo trojan that is on the computer, but that wasn't causing many problems, just an occasional error message. This morning I tried to synch my ipod for the first time in months. It didn't recognize. Apple linked me to a Microsoft "fix" link/update that should make my computer recognize jump drives, a program for cd-r and ipods. I downloaded, installed, and restarted. That's when it died. I get the blue screen with the STOP: C000021a (fatal system error)
The session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000003a (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shut down. This happends when I try to restart in safe mode too. I read that I could do a system restore, and not clear my current files, just update the drivers. What do i do?
Other message before the blue screen: autochk program not found - skipping AUTOCHK.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks for checking my question. I haven't found an answer to my particular situation:

Dell xps m1430 laptop w/vista (32).

It all started with a blue screen w/scrolling text after the fated restart. The blue screen text said "if this is the first time you've seen this message..." and then comp restarted, again showing the blue screen, then restarted into windows repair mode, after repair mode tried to fix the problem comp restarted, then the screen went black / blank right after the little windows loading animation (where the bar keeps moving from left to right and there's a small windows logo).
It all happened fast, so there may have been steps I forgot, but that's the jist of it.

Now screen always goes black / blank during startup after the windows loading animation, so I can't start windows in normal mode.
I can start in safe mode if I manually force shutdown by holding the power button, so I'm not imploding with fear... ok I am.

Possible causes:
1. This occured right after installing 11 vista updates (that restart was when I saw the blue screen)

2. Also occured the restart after running a patch called "Vista TCP/IP and UAC AutoPatch 6.0" I downloaded it from softpedia, the developer was listed as defcon, and their website listed was securevista.net, but the site is down(I found this out after the problem occured). Just today, I turned on my computer and got the blue screen of death, so I restarted my PC. Then a black screen came up saying "Windows could not start beacuse the following file is missing or corrupt : \windows\system32\config\system."

You can attempt to repair this file by putting the winxp cd in etc...

Now when i turn on my computer there is just a black screen showing, with nothing at all on it.

Any ideas anyone?

It's a nasty error that requires some persistance and resourcefullness to overcome without a clean install.

If you have a Windows CD or have the recovery console installed, you might want to have a go at these directions.

Today I booted my computer up to be promoted with a black screen, I gave it a good half an hour before forcing it to shutdown, to which when I booted it back up. Was then promoted with a blue screen about the video card not being able to lead, that happened twice.

I then booted it into safe mode, fiddled around with the drivers to see what was going on, after restarting it again, I got the same black screen, this kept on happening. I then concluded my best solution was to install XP, this worked the video card runs. So the card is not dead, but there are multiple blue lines going down the screen in 4 columns. After going into the device manager I saw that it claimed it was not installed, then I went to Google and downloaded the driver, after installing the computers goes to the same black screen that I got on windows 7.

I have no clue what the problem is, so any help would be most appreciated. Also I tried installing Linux, but after getting though then loading screen of the installer, it goes to the black screen. At the moment in am on my tablet so sorry if there are so many mistakes. I'll try and get some photos of how it looks.

Hi Sean,

I don't like to say it, but it sounds like the graphics card is dead. I had the same issue on an old 8800gts, it would work until I installed the drivers, then I would get very bad artifacts/lines down the screen.
I tried it on 2 different PC's with the same end result once the drivers were installed.

Yesterday was a big day for Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad fans. The latest and greatest version of iOS 6, the operating system for late model Apple devices, was out. Millions of eager users upgraded... and then their Wi-Fi failed. What went wrong? It was ironic. The update itself went amazingly well for many users. IOS 6 also fixed many security problems. And, most users were very happy with this update. Well, except for the ones that couldn't connect with the Internet. They were none too happy.Fortunately for them, Apple was able to quick fix the problem. So what happened? A network configuration blunder? Some glitch in the code itself? Something odd in the IOS 6 default Wi-Fi setting? No, no, and no.Find out at the link: http://www.zdnet.com/what-went-wrong-with-ios-6-wi-fi-7000004598/

I have a Dell Latitude 5175 (Core m5-6Y57, 8GB ram, 256GB SSD) which bluescreens during full screen video playback such as Netflix or Windows media player with a Driver_power_state_failure, it doesn't happen straight away but usually after around 10-15 minutes usage.

I checked the minidump file which suggested the Intel graphics card driver was to blame, I updated that to the latest one from Dell which made no difference, updated the chipset driver, bios and then installed the latest graphics card driver from Intel again with no difference, if anything it's worse now.  The issue also occurs when the tablet is docked or when it's not docked although in normal day to day usage, it seems fine.

I've found references to this problem on some other machines, noticeably the Surface Pro 4's but not really any solution.  The next step is to try a clean build but thought I'd see if there's anything else I can try first.  The machine is out of warranty and while it's always occurred I've just lived with it as I incorrectly through the PC had a three year warranty.

Hi all. I'm a first-time poster today. I was searching through the forums to see if my question was already answered but I didn't find an exact match and hoping someone might have some ideas.

Specifically, I get an error message when I plug my Ipod into my laptop. I'm using a FireWire Notebook adapter and my OS is Windows XP running SP2.

I didn't always have this problem but it's been recurring for the last 6 months. Before that I had this problem only using USB which is why I switched to FireWire. That only worked for a few months.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I have reinstalled Itunes a number of times. I also so full system scans on my computer using Norton weekly. I've even updated my bios drivers and still can't get it to work.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks so much.

Welcome!

It would really help to know what the "error message" that you get is, otherwise we can't even start to pin the matter down.

Hello
Before i describe the problem i would like to make it clear that i would like to recover as much as possible. This problem occurred playing a game called Empires V2.1. It is a steam half 2-death match mod. I had problems in the past however i didn't not consider them problems the screen froze when the game changed map. However when it froze it wouldn't respond to Ctrl+Alt+Delete or Ctrl+Esc or the start menu button. I pressed the power button and restarted it that way. However this is when the problem occurs and i can't over come it. It starts with a normal dell screen and the loading bar crosses at the bottom as normal. Then it goes to a black page with a blue line across the top with white writing saying www.dell.com. A line (programming maybe it appears and disappears rapidly). It then goes to a black screen saying something along the lines of We are sorry for the inconvenience but windows failed to start properly. It then gives you options and no matter which option I choose I still get a blue of screen of death saying the following;

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to you computer. If this is the time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this appears again, follow these steps;

Disable or uninstall any antivirus, dick defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any update drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and the... Read more

Hi,

I was just syncing my ipod and ejected it (safely remove hardware),but did not actually unplug the usb to charge its battery, when few minutes after that a blue error screen appeared saying "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

After i restarted my laptop and did the same thing with the ipod again, few minutes after that the same blue error screen appeared for the second time.

I wonder if there's a problem between ipod and vista? is there any way to fix this?

Thank you very much.

I reformatted my PC so all my music is not in the iTunes library anymore. Is there some sort of software that transfers music from one device to another? Thanks.

Hi I have the above 3 devices, when plugged into ANY of my USB ports front or the ones in the back, do NOT work.

Yesterday my iPhone 3GS (used as iPod) was plugged in and it worked. After I finished transferring the songs I wanted, to my PC, I plugged in iPod 4 to my PC using the same cable and the same USB port..... Nothing! Moving the USB cable to other ports again nothing. I uninstalled the USB drivers from Dev Manager and restarted my PC. Then it seemed to recognize the devices, only to go off and on, never keeping a steady connection. My Android Motorola Droid Razr HD LTE, isn't being recognized either.

I have tried differing ports, different cables. I tried the same devices on my Laptop. Yes they work just fine. I have also tried a USB Flash drive in the same ports, nothing. Seems the only ones that are working are my Mouse, Keyboard and Printer all the other USB ports - seem to either Dead or having the weekend off! This has been going on for months like this.

Any ideas as to what's happening with my PC???

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your input

An update:

Just checked USB cable # 6 and it seems to work. Each of the others didn't. BTW, a friend of mine suggested that I also update the BIOS, seeing that I only had 3 USB Root HUbs in my Device Manager. Don't think that really fixed the problem, I do now have 4 Root Hubs now though + an updated BIOS.

Thanks Guys for ya help..

This is what someone else wrote in another topic: http://forums.techguy.org/windows-vista/741250-windows-warning-message-win32-adware.html

"I booted my computer up today, and saw my background wasn't available anymore. Then I see the message, "Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer". It says that Win32/Adware.Virtumonde and Win32/PrivacyRemover.M64 are on my computer."

I had the exact same problem but i followed the instructions that someone posted in that topic, these were the instructions posted by "drdrew1469":

"I just got through fixing this (I hope). What it did here was change the background and set the screensaver to the sysinternals bluescreen screensaver (which you may be seeing) while at the same time setting policies in the registry to disable the two aforementioned tabs in the Display properties window.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System \NoDispBackgroundPage and [same]\NoDispScrSvrPage (they are both set to 1. Delete both entries.

Then check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run for any funky alphanumeric filenames (I'm pretty sure it's just a random string anyway so posting the string probably won't help you much). Delete these keys and the associated file(s). (Doesn't hurt to check msconfig either, but I found nothing there)."

Hi, I've been going through some problems with windows, I'll try to be the more clear and organized I can, let's start with my config and the symptoms I'm getting:PC Config:Core2Duo E6550GA P35 DS3 (rev.2.0)2x 1GB DDR2 800Mhz Kingston (in dual channel)GeForce 7200GS 256mb (512mb with turbo cache)HD321KJ Samsung Hard DriveSamsung SH-S203B DVD driveCorsair VX450W Power SupplyOS: Windows XP Pro x64 SP2 (I upgraded to sp2 just yesterday, before that I was running sp1)Symptoms: There are three types of symptoms, the most common is the pc simply restarting, note that I've already disabled the "automatically restart" in the system properties window and it keeps happening, other is the screen freezing, and then I have to restart it, and the last and less common is the famous Blue Screen of Death, also, but for only two times, instead of the freeze or the blue screen I got an empty black screen. All these types of crashes can happen independently of what I'm doing, It has happened while burning dvds with Nero, scanning with anti-virus, browsing the net, or even while I'm asleep and only the bittorrent client is up. Though, there is one peculiarity I think should be important, there's one program, the VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.2 (build 2540/release), which is used for various kinds of video manipulating jobs, that every time I'm enconding a video with it, there is a crash, and I'm convinced it's not only coincidence, cause I have tried a... Hello

I have a computer running Windows 7. Last night the computer was running fine. This morning when I turn it on, i get a black screen. To fix the problem I conducted a system restore. After it finished restoring, the computer restarts and everything worked fine. To make sure if everything was in working order, I restart it again. After the "Starting Windows" screens comes up, I get the Blue Screen of Death. I can't even read what the error says because the computer just restarts itself. I did not connect anything new to the computer. I performed a hardware diagnostics to see if it was a hardware failure but no error was found. I can't even get into safe mode. The SFC.exe will be my next step.

Hi,

I would be very grateful if anyone could help me. A couple of days ago, my computer was working fine, and then suddenly the screen went blue and an error flashed up - this made the computer shut down and reboot. This happened again when I turned the computer back on. Eventually it seemed to return to normal, but now my desktop is a light blue colour and the blue screen keeps coming back. I went into the advanced section in System Recovery and turned off the instant restart so I could see the details of the message.

My error says:

A propbelm has been detected...

BAD_POOL_HEADER

Check any new hardware is properly installed...

***STOP: 0x0000019 0x0000200.0xEID76E48.0XEID77780. 0XID2791ED

I use Windows XP Professional 2003. Unfortunately, I do not know where my installation discs are.

I have seen posts on some other forums that say this is memory corruption and can be easlily fixed, but I'm not sure of the best way to fix this. My computer seems to be working OK apart from the blue desktop background (which I cannot change!) and sometimes the error flashes up and tries to reboot the computer again - but this is less frequent.

If anybody could help I would be very grateful. If you need any more information, or of I have left anything out please let me know!

Thanks

Hello,

In the past few weeks I have gotten the blue screen of death twice. Unfortunately the screen was counting down at the bottom and I shut the computer down before taking any information. I have been running the computer in safe mode and trying to get rid of any viruses. All other programs I have tried have not found any major viruses so I was told to run Combofix.
