I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
I was having problems installing a program (Berlitz German Premier) where the install would just disappear halfway thru the process. A program would not appear under my programs list but when I went to Uninstall an icon for uninstall of the Berlitz software appears for each time I tried to install it. However I get the following error messages (see attached document with screen captures) when I tried to delete it the traditional way.
When I use Windows Install Clean Up utility, the program is nowhere to be found on the list; thus I can't use that program.
Any suggestions for how to get this program removed?

A:Program wont uninstall it with Uninstall or Install Cleanup Utility

Is this a windows XP program or one for vista. It looks like a compatibility problem. Check with vendor to see if they have a version for vista. Some older programs will not work with vista and never will. There is an option to run in capatibility mode with vista but does not always work.

Are you still having this problem? If so, lets start with running the following tools:
Download Security Check from here.
Save it to your Desktop.
Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so imme... Read more

You can probably clean out any old versions of most of those programs using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility. Use it only on programs that have already been removed or absent from Add/Remove programs.

.Net Framework -- you are going to need -- so you should install the latest version.

Firstly, sorry for any possible interruption

I have the following problems and they seem to insist despite many of the solutions I've tried:
It must be something wrong with Control Panel / Programs / Programs and Features:
* Uninstall a program
* Turn windows features on or off
* View installed updates

-> I cant uninstall a program, the uninstall a program does nothing.
-> I'm trying to open "turn windows features on or off" and it says Bad image: -> osbaseln.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.
-> Also pressing the "View installed updates" shows the following error: Windows cannot find '::_26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064}....: -//- }' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

I remember having the problem after installing the latest updates. I tried system restore days before the event and the problems still insist. I'm not sure if this is the cause but it was as far as I can remember the last 'modification' for the system. I sure I did a disk defragment, browsing the web but I don't think this will affect the system.

And I'm sure I don't visit any 'weird' sites, mostly university forums, but just to be sure I scanned the whole computer with AVG. It found nothing as it always does. I've never had a virus issue from the first day I installed Windows 7, and it's almost 2 years since then.

Good morning:
I had a free cd of Serif Photoshop 8 and decided to install and try (received from Serif themselves when I bought another program). Unfortunately it would not install properly, and various error messages popped up, one on top of the other. The first one said something about the Registry but the others popped up on top very quickly. I could not close them, so decided to End Task from Task manager. Now I cannot uninstall the program. I have tried from Add/Remove, I have tried from C Cleaner. Each time it says the program has been removed but it is still there. Does anyone know of any software that will get rid of this thing permanently.

I have a particular program that I no longer use and wish to uninstall. I went to add/remove programs found the program in the list and clicked "remove". A window popped up that said something like "this option is only available for currently installed programs". I went and found the program in start>programs and fired it up so I know it is installed and works. It doesn't appear it has its own uninstall utility. How do I remove this program?

A:Cannot uninstall program

When the add/remove process fails, your only option is to clean it up manually. It then just boils down to how thorough you want to be. Simply deleting the installation folder will remove the files from your HDD. You can also run regedit and remove any references to the app from the registry. But for the most part, simply deleting the folder and the shortcut will suffice and ensure you don't cause any other issues.

Our first mistake was installing VISTA, the second was installing NERO 6.6 Version, finding out that it would not work with VISTA, and then uninstalling NERO.
Our problem is this.
NERO is bundled in a program with a title of AHEAD. Along with NERO there are two other programs. One is called "COVER DESIGNER", the second is"NERO PHOTOSNAP". Each of these are 13.6 MB in size.
We went to add/remove programs, seclected NERO, and uninstalled it.
The folder AHEAD is listed in PROGRAMS and contains the two items listed above:i:e Nero Photosnap and Cover Designer.

Although AHEAD is listed in program files on the hard drive, there is NO LISTING on ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.

Please help me to get rid of this program AHEAD. We have tried praying but this didnt help.
Weve searched the net but they wont respond.

It could also be just a corrupted uninstall entry. You might see if using the free program CCleaner can remove it for you. In CCleaner, click on Tools icon and select that item, then click on Delete Entry.

Monitor your system afterwards, to see if anything else strange like this pops-up.

Computers, sometimes I just have no idea why something happens. Such as a program that has recently shown up on my computer that I didn't download & had never even thought about it. I had vaguely heard of this company, but thats it.

I have Symantec/Norton as my security program for anti-virus & all the other main stuff u have to worry about & it has done a pretty good job thru the years. I make a once yearly payment for this. I'm sure that real tech savvy folks can probably do other things to protect their computers that are probably free......but I'm not even close to there yet & recently paid for another year.

MY BOTTOM LINE QUESTION IS THIS: A program that is now on my computer......& I don't know how it got there is: McAfee Security Scan Plus. On the add or remove programs page of my computer it says the size is 12.07MB (I just added the size for info purposes).

When I booted up my computer today the icon for that site came up saying I needed to click on a button to resolve a few issues. I minimized it so I could type exactly what it said later, but for some reason, it is now gone. I'm almost sure if I rebooted my computer I could get that exact info again on what it says.

But should I just uninstall this site from the info I've stated here.....or should I just click on the button it says will resolve a few issues. Or would I need to reboot my computer to get exactly the info that comes up from McAfee Security Scan Plu... Read more

I have a program on my computer called Broadcom Wireless Utility which has taken over Windows' own wireless connection utility. I'd prefer to use Windows, but I can't seem to uninstall the Broadcom one. It's not listed in Add/Remove Programs. How can I uninstall it?

I have Windows XP.

A:can't uninstall a program

Click Start - Run, then type in MSCONFIG and then click OK - "Startup" tab.

Uncheck any entries that are associated with Broadcom wireless.

After you're done, click Apply - OK/Close - Exit Without Restart.

Click Start - Run, then type in SERVICES.MSC and then click OK.

This will bring up the services window.

Double-click on any entries that are associated with Broadcom wireless.

If the "startup type" is on Automatic, change it to Disabled, then click Apply - OK.

While you're still in that window, make sure that Wireless Zero Configuration has its "startup type" set on Automatic.

After you're done, close the services window and then restart the computer.

When the small System Configuration Utility window appears, ignore its message.

Put a check in the lower left of that window before you click OK to close it.

I bought a laptop that's not even a month old and has Vista pre-installed and I installed this program called AlienGUIuse, which is a desktop theme changer that uses Alienware icon's and various themes. Anyway, it won't let me uninstall at all, when I goto add/remove programs and click uninstall a form box pops up with tons of question marks. I have this program installed on my other desktop computer running XP, did a couple online scans that didn't find any viruses and it even uninstalled with ease. Is there anyway to uninstall this program from the laptop or are there any good free programs that will uninstall this? Another question, how am I suppose to check my laptop for errors? When I right click the C drive and check for errors, it says "it can't check disk in use". Are there any registry checkers that are compatiable with Vista? Hi, I need some help with a problem I have.
I downloaded and used a program called Instant Lock used to encrypt files.
I locked a folder but forgot that I could only use the shareware version for 30 days. So, after this period when I ran the software I was asked to register in order to access my files. Since I did not want to keep the program I tried to uninstall it to regain access to the locked files but that also failed and I was once again prompted to buy the software.
Does anyone have any idea how to uninstall the software without losing my files?

I have a computer game called 'Nicktoons Racing'. About a month ago, I was trying to uninstall it, and midway through the uninstall, the program was interrupted by a short power outage. Now, the computer shows the program is still there, but when I try to remove it, through the add/remove programs page of the control panel, a window will pop up asking if I wish to remove the selected application with all it's components. If I click yes, the 100% bar flashes up and disappears, and the program is still there. This also happens if I try to install it again. I have tried various things to remove it. Using the norton software, I was able to remove parts of it, but the majority of the program is still there. It was acting as I have described before I removed parts and it still does the same thing afterwards. I hope this is enough info to work with. If not, let me know, and I will supply more if I can.

A:Cannot Uninstall A Program

Hi there, First, you may want to run a search, listing names and associations to the target program your trying to uninstall. Now that you have a list of the junk, try to delete it. If there is more than one listing in the results, go up to Edit, click Select All, then press and hold the Shift key, while clicking Delete. If it still won't work, at least you know where the files are, so now you can boot into Safe Mode. You do this by tapping F8 repeatedly before the Windows screen appears. Follow the instructions, and log into the main account. Now, navigate to the files that you searched, and delete them. Restart in normal mode and see if it worked.Hope this helped, nos

Considering two anti-viruses on the same computer can cause issues, and since you no longer have AVG, I would recommend removing it. (It's likely a redistributable to run AVG, therefore unnecessary.)

I am not sure how a program called Eraser Project ended up on my computer, but I want to uninstall it. However, it will not let me uninstall. The program is Eraser.heidi.ie. Any suggestions on removing this?

A:I can't uninstall a program

If the program is running in system tray, (next to the clock) right click on the ERASER icon,(it looks like a red circle) click exit. This will stop the program from running. Next go to the control panel, uninstall a program, click on ERASER in the program list, click uninstall. Or you could choose to do a system restore instead to remove the unwanted program.
Do you have any registry cleaning tool or any system utility tools installed? Such as, CCleaner. If not, you may want to download and install CCleaner once you have removed the unwanted program to help clean up you system. Here's the link.

Hi everyone,

I am trying to remove an online Bible program i had tried to install on my PC. I was just looking in the programs list and found it still listed. I tried to uninstall the program but it stubbornly refuses to remove itself.

A little background: I got the program from someone at my church, on disk. The disk was badly scratched and the software would never properly, or fully install itself. I got ALOT of errors during the install.
I never could install it, so i gave the disks back and thought I had uninstalled it before.

I tried to follow the instructions to reboot before uninstalling, but it did not work either.I am including 2 screenshots to help out.

Thanks in advance

A:I need help trying to uninstall a program

I use Revo uninstaller to get everything off my machine. Having said that..... can't you just go into your programs folder and delete them/it? Or go to your registry and delete all references to it?

So, I'm having an issue, and I suspect I may need help trying to do this from Command Prompt, but the issue is Windows 10 is refusing to let me uninstall a program called DAEMON Tools off my PC. Every time I try to do so, it tells me it cannot run on the system due to it not being compatible and doesn't do anything beyond that. Likewise, trying to remove the files manually from Windows Explorer has the explorer hang and doesn't load anything at all, let alone even trying to get directly to the file's path to try to remove it. Is there another work around that I'm missing? Or do I just need to yank the hard drive and use an enclosure to remove the program manually? (I want to avoid trying a reformat, if possible.)

Hello everybody, I want to uninstall a program called Stepvoice Recorder but it has not got it's own uninstall instructions, and it does not appear in the Add/Remove programs. Can anybody help me with this one?? Ted.

OS is Win 98se.

A:Cannot uninstall a program

Go to the Stepvoice Recorder folder in windows explorer and look for a file called unwise.exe or uninstall.exe. That will be the uninstallshield.

I used to have Windows XP, which had Toshiba Media Center. So I upgraded to Vista, which doesn't have a Toshiba Media Center. But now, there's a program called Toshiba Media Center Game Console listed in the Programs and Features list in Control Panel. This program I'm sure used the Toshiba Media Center.
When I try to uninstall the TMCGC I get an error message - "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable". It suggests I "enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'mce_console_toshiba.msi' ".
This program was published by WildTangent. There's some WildTangent stuff still on my computer, so it wasn't really uninstalled. Just apparently partly deleted during the upgrade process. It seems like what happened is that the old Toshiba Media Center was deleted and somehow part of the Toshiba Media Center Game Console got zapped.
How can I fix it?

A:Program Won't Uninstall

ps There doesn't seem to be anything called a "Toshiba Media Center Game Console" around. So when I open Programs and Features and I see "Toshiba Media Center Game Console" in the list of installed programs, I don't know what it's pointing at.

There are a few folders called WildTangent (the publisher of TMCGC) on my computer, in the Program Files and Program Data directories. But there isn't any folder that's related to TMCGC in the C: directory.
When I try to uninstall the TMCGC I get an error message "The installation source for this product is not available".

I guess I should just move the WildTangent folders to the recycle bin and see if it disappears from the Programs and Features list.

I use earthlink cable and tried their PC Fine tune software to help clean up my registry, etc... I have since cancelled the service and now can't uninstall it. There is no listing for it on Add/Remove Programs and when searching the folder in Program Files there is no uninstall icon. Their Tech Support reccomended using the Microsoft Windows Installer Clean Up. It didn't show up there either. The program is still trying to run, it kept popping up in my systray untill I stopped it from starting when rebooting. I also have a program called Your Unistaller that I really like and usually fixes or removes program that windows won't. No such luck with this one. Anyway, any help would be great!!!! Thanks.

A:Help! Can't uninstall program!

I got a program from my friend called moveonboot. It's freeware that allows you to remove programs like the one your haveing trouble removing durring the boot process. If you know where the folder is that you want to remove this should work. You can get it here http://www.snapfiles.com/get/moveonboot.html

A warning though, you can use this to remove almost anything from your hard drive so be very carful about what you are selecting and removing. Hope this helps.
