I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hiya and welcome to Tech Support Guy

Are you still having this problem? If so, lets start with running the following tools:
Download Security Check from here.
Save it to your Desktop.
Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so imme... Read more

I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
I was having problems installing a program (Berlitz German Premier) where the install would just disappear halfway thru the process. A program would not appear under my programs list but when I went to Uninstall an icon for uninstall of the Berlitz software appears for each time I tried to install it. However I get the following error messages (see attached document with screen captures) when I tried to delete it the traditional way.
When I use Windows Install Clean Up utility, the program is nowhere to be found on the list; thus I can't use that program.
Any suggestions for how to get this program removed?

A:Program wont uninstall it with Uninstall or Install Cleanup Utility

Is this a windows XP program or one for vista. It looks like a compatibility problem. Check with vendor to see if they have a version for vista. Some older programs will not work with vista and never will. There is an option to run in capatibility mode with vista but does not always work.

You can probably clean out any old versions of most of those programs using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility. Use it only on programs that have already been removed or absent from Add/Remove programs.

Firstly, sorry for any possible interruption

I have the following problems and they seem to insist despite many of the solutions I've tried:
It must be something wrong with Control Panel / Programs / Programs and Features:
* Uninstall a program
* Turn windows features on or off
* View installed updates

-> I cant uninstall a program, the uninstall a program does nothing.
-> I'm trying to open "turn windows features on or off" and it says Bad image: -> osbaseln.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.
-> Also pressing the "View installed updates" shows the following error: Windows cannot find '::_26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064}....: -//- }' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

I remember having the problem after installing the latest updates. I tried system restore days before the event and the problems still insist. I'm not sure if this is the cause but it was as far as I can remember the last 'modification' for the system. I sure I did a disk defragment, browsing the web but I don't think this will affect the system.

And I'm sure I don't visit any 'weird' sites, mostly university forums, but just to be sure I scanned the whole computer with AVG. It found nothing as it always does. I've never had a virus issue from the first day I installed Windows 7, and it's almost 2 years since then.

Computers, sometimes I just have no idea why something happens. Such as a program that has recently shown up on my computer that I didn't download & had never even thought about it. I had vaguely heard of this company, but thats it.

I have Symantec/Norton as my security program for anti-virus & all the other main stuff u have to worry about & it has done a pretty good job thru the years. I make a once yearly payment for this. I'm sure that real tech savvy folks can probably do other things to protect their computers that are probably free......but I'm not even close to there yet & recently paid for another year.

MY BOTTOM LINE QUESTION IS THIS: A program that is now on my computer......& I don't know how it got there is: McAfee Security Scan Plus. On the add or remove programs page of my computer it says the size is 12.07MB (I just added the size for info purposes).

When I booted up my computer today the icon for that site came up saying I needed to click on a button to resolve a few issues. I minimized it so I could type exactly what it said later, but for some reason, it is now gone. I'm almost sure if I rebooted my computer I could get that exact info again on what it says.

But should I just uninstall this site from the info I've stated here.....or should I just click on the button it says will resolve a few issues. Or would I need to reboot my computer to get exactly the info that comes up from McAfee Security Scan Plu... Read more

So, I'm having an issue, and I suspect I may need help trying to do this from Command Prompt, but the issue is Windows 10 is refusing to let me uninstall a program called DAEMON Tools off my PC. Every time I try to do so, it tells me it cannot run on the system due to it not being compatible and doesn't do anything beyond that. Likewise, trying to remove the files manually from Windows Explorer has the explorer hang and doesn't load anything at all, let alone even trying to get directly to the file's path to try to remove it. Is there another work around that I'm missing? Or do I just need to yank the hard drive and use an enclosure to remove the program manually? (I want to avoid trying a reformat, if possible.)

I have tried uninstalling both through the traditional method of

Control Panel > Uninstall a program

And through a computer clean up program called AusLogics BoostSpeed

Both do the same thing, bring up a small box with no text in it, and just do nothing.

So i have no way of getting it off my computer, and it is actively effecting all my media files given the nature of the software so its kind of a big deal

I tried the usual re-boot stuff, and even tried a few days later, I also wiped all files and applications associated with the software and yet it still remains, any suggestions on how to remove it?

I have a computer game called 'Nicktoons Racing'. About a month ago, I was trying to uninstall it, and midway through the uninstall, the program was interrupted by a short power outage. Now, the computer shows the program is still there, but when I try to remove it, through the add/remove programs page of the control panel, a window will pop up asking if I wish to remove the selected application with all it's components. If I click yes, the 100% bar flashes up and disappears, and the program is still there. This also happens if I try to install it again. I have tried various things to remove it. Using the norton software, I was able to remove parts of it, but the majority of the program is still there. It was acting as I have described before I removed parts and it still does the same thing afterwards. I hope this is enough info to work with. If not, let me know, and I will supply more if I can.

Hi there, First, you may want to run a search, listing names and associations to the target program your trying to uninstall. Now that you have a list of the junk, try to delete it. If there is more than one listing in the results, go up to Edit, click Select All, then press and hold the Shift key, while clicking Delete. If it still won't work, at least you know where the files are, so now you can boot into Safe Mode. You do this by tapping F8 repeatedly before the Windows screen appears. Follow the instructions, and log into the main account. Now, navigate to the files that you searched, and delete them. Restart in normal mode and see if it worked.Hope this helped, nos

Greetings from Vancouver Canada, I have just tried to uninstall a little word processing program named Rough Draft, because it was giving me error messages. But it will not go away, for though it is gone from the control panel, it still appears in All Programs in Start. When I tried to manually delete that folder, it denies me access. There is still a short cut on my desk top for Rough Draft, and if I click it, it still opens Rough Draft, but then that file will not close. Instead, a little window tells me, ?Cannot create file\clip1.rtf? If I re-start my computer, the Rough Draft file will have closed. I am also getting notices on my desk top saying ?Access Violation at address 004848 in Module Rough Draft.exe. Read of address 0000023c? I would be grateful if anyone could help me exorcise this little un-dead Zombie and get on with my life! Thanks, IGY

Considering two anti-viruses on the same computer can cause issues, and since you no longer have AVG, I would recommend removing it. (It's likely a redistributable to run AVG, therefore unnecessary.)

I am not sure how a program called Eraser Project ended up on my computer, but I want to uninstall it. However, it will not let me uninstall. The program is Eraser.heidi.ie. Any suggestions on removing this?

A:I can't uninstall a program

If the program is running in system tray, (next to the clock) right click on the ERASER icon,(it looks like a red circle) click exit. This will stop the program from running. Next go to the control panel, uninstall a program, click on ERASER in the program list, click uninstall. Or you could choose to do a system restore instead to remove the unwanted program.
Do you have any registry cleaning tool or any system utility tools installed? Such as, CCleaner. If not, you may want to download and install CCleaner once you have removed the unwanted program to help clean up you system. Here's the link.

I have a particular program that I no longer use and wish to uninstall. I went to add/remove programs found the program in the list and clicked "remove". A window popped up that said something like "this option is only available for currently installed programs". I went and found the program in start>programs and fired it up so I know it is installed and works. It doesn't appear it has its own uninstall utility. How do I remove this program?

A:Cannot uninstall program

When the add/remove process fails, your only option is to clean it up manually. It then just boils down to how thorough you want to be. Simply deleting the installation folder will remove the files from your HDD. You can also run regedit and remove any references to the app from the registry. But for the most part, simply deleting the folder and the shortcut will suffice and ensure you don't cause any other issues.

hi there
have a read of this from Microsoft and see it it helps they have FIX IT downloads for the various versions >>> How do I uninstall Office 2003, Office 2007 or Office 2010 suites if I cannot uninstall it from Control Panel? >>> How do I uninstall Office 2003, Office 2007 or Office 2010 suites if I cannot uninstall it from Control Panel?

You can uninstall the Microsoft Office system by going to the appropriate "Fix it for me" section that matches your version of Microsoft Office. The Fix It solutions below do not remove any Office program that was installed separately from the Office suite. For example, if you have Microsoft Office Professional 2007 and Microsoft Office Visio 2007 installed on your computer, the Fix It solution only removes Microsoft Office Professional 2007 from your computer. Visio 2007 will not be removed. Additionally, you must reboot your machine if you use one of the Fix it solutions below.

The wizard may be in English only; however, the automatic fix also works for other language versions of Windows.
If you are not on the computer that has the problem, save the Fix it solution to a flash drive or a CD and then run it on the computer that has the problem.
For users who are running a Windows 64-bit operating system please download and save the Fix It solution to your desktop and double-click and run it on your computer. If you try to run the solution directly from the article ... Read more

A few years back when i had just started playing with comps as a newbie i incorrectly deleted program files instead of uninstalling them correctly. I just deleted the program files instead of using add / rem progs in control panel.

I want to uninstall them correctly but my problem is that i dont have the uni. (uninstall) parts of the programs anymore.

Do you know of any software that will help me remove several programs completely from my system .(without the uni. files)

I know i can reinstall the programs and then use control panel to remove them correctly but this will takes ages as there are a few programs.

Most uninstall managers require the original uni. file from the original programs but as mentioned these have been deleted.
Help PLEASE!!!

Scroll down the page to Norton Utillities Download.

I downloaded a program I thought I needed but after installing it I found it was not quite what I wanted so I decided to uninstall it. Lo and behold I could not find the program to uninstall it.

I was becoming very irritable because a pop up kept showing itself entitled "Priority DR." and a message below that saying there was a big problem with my computer.

Unable to uninstall it my friend said he would assist me.

He found the program and uninstalled it using the uninstall command in the directory for the program.

Lo and behold after a restart it was still there.

So my friend uninstalled malwarebytes malware removal tool and superantispyware spyware removal tool.

After running these two programs and a restart the pop still appears.

Can you help me get rid of it please?

OS is Win 98se.

Go to the Stepvoice Recorder folder in windows explorer and look for a file called unwise.exe or uninstall.exe. That will be the uninstallshield.

Give Revo uninstaller a try, if that does not do the trick you may need further help.  Some others are very good at that.

A:A program cant be uninstall help please :

Hello Chocolade, and welcome to Vista Forums.

It could also be just a corrupted uninstall entry. You might see if using the free program CCleaner can remove it for you. In CCleaner, click on Tools icon and select that item, then click on Delete Entry.

Monitor your system afterwards, to see if anything else strange like this pops-up.

Hope this helps,

I am trying to clear room on my computer, so I am trying to uninstall a program called Maplestory. When I use add/remove programs, it says "An error has occurred during installation. Please try again." Then it says the installation has failed. I have no idea why it thinks I'm trying to install the program.
I tried to use revo uninstaller, but it gives the same error. I use windows xp, thanks for your help.

A:Cannot uninstall this program

I would try re-installing the program then re-boot and uninstall. If that dosen't work you could try searching for its files and deleting them as you find them.
