I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,I'm just wondering a couple of years after I bought this laptop as brand new that why never the Lenovo solved the issue that the Turbo Boost never worked ever beside this model has a 4700M @ 2.4 Ghz which is 99.9% it's running at 2.38 or 2.39 Ghz BUT supposed to Turbo Boost itself by one core at 3.4 Ghz by the intel specification. Of course the Intel Turbo Boost 3.0 doesn't work it's supported by the new i5 and i7 CPUs. So what's the solution ? When it gonna be solved ? In the bios it's not possilbe to enable or disable. The only way I was able to go over the locked CPU it was the ThrottleStop only which was able to juice out 3.2 Ghz ...My question is why we got fooled by Lenovo when we bought this laptop and after we bought why this major issue wasn't solved by a BioS update or whatever else way ????

I understand what Intel Turbo Boost technology is and how it works.

What I would really like to know is "....does it do what it says on the can...." In practice does this technology really work seamlessly in the background as your computing demands vary depending on your current needs?

I am currently considering the purchase of a computer with an Intel® Core™ i5-4200U Processor that is rated 1.6 GHz and 2.6 GHz with TurboBoost, incorporating a 3 MB cache. Some of the work that I do is as mundane and low-usage as Word or Excel and a 1.6 GHz processor is more than adequate. But much of the work that I do is graphically intensive and I expect that at 1.6 GHz the processor will fall over but at 2.6 GHz it should be just fine.

In the real-world of hands-on use is this Intel Turbo Boost technology the answer to vastly different workloads such as that described above...

Q1. What is the MAXIMUM Turbo Boost technology for i5 760 2.8 Ghz without overclocking the CPU? below are my hardware specs.
Q2. Example: An application needs 3 Ghz clockspeed to run smoothly.

Will i5 760 @ 2.8 Ghz convert to 3 Ghz?
Specs:

i5 760 2.80 Ghz
Mobo = DH55PJ
4 gig corsair ddr3
GTS250 1 Gig ddr3 256 bit
2 TB Hard Disc.

I need a good simple answer Q1 and Q2.

Tnx!

A:Intel i5 760 @ 2.8 Ghz Max Turbo Boost Technology

Max Turbo Frequency 3.46 GHz

The CPU automatically steps the multiplier based on load and number of cores used:

Up to 1 core used at 3.46 GHz. On CPU extensive apps, expect to get the 2.93GHz speed, as all 4 cores will be used. This is of course at the stock 133MHz BCLK.

Did a clean install on my Vaio laptop (VPCF11LFX) of Win 7 64 bit Ultimate. Before I had a program under Control Panel/Program and Features called Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver. Now I don't. I can't find out what this program is or what it's purpose is. Is it even necessary as my laptop seems to be running fine. I found the latest version (I think) and it seemed to load but when I checked, it didn't show up under Programs and Features. Any info would be helpful.

Just curious if anyone knows anything about this driver and/or why I may not be able to install it.

Hello all this's my second post for help on this site, while looking around the net for more unnecessary driver's to disable, I stumbled across something interesting.

The topic relate's to the I/i series processor's and it's turbo boost driver, when reading the thread I noticed one of the commenters saying "Newer I series processors do not need the TB driver, its built into the processor now.", that really piqued my interest, seeing as I use one these I/i series processor's on my laptop and always figured that the Turbo Boost Technology Driver would be a necessary software component to have so my processor would be able to initiate it's "safe overclocking" function that made me decide to purchase a machine with a "I" processor in the first place.

The commenter also claimed that the 2nd Generation i7 series for sure wouldn't need to utilize the driver for turbo boost to work anyway. I just happened to be using one of the second gen i7 processor's and was wondering if I could disable the aforementioned driver and still utilize "turbo boost" as apparently turbo boost was already "Built In" to my processor, and doe's not require Intel(R) Turbo Boost Driver to function, typing this just make's me dubious and confused about the commenters claim, doesn't "Built-In" refer to the driver itself, or was the commenter getting at something else?

This's the link to the webpage I found the info on; What is the "Intel... Read more

I had to reformat my laptop in an attempt to get the ATI drivers working instead of the DELL video drivers.  In doing so I have come to the realization today that I didn't reinstall the Turbo Boost Technology.  My laptop is supposed to be able to go to a turbo mode at 3.06 GHZ however this isn't occuring so what this gaming laptop is meant to do it cannot.
If anyone has ever encountered this or something similiar involving the installation of this technology please let me know what you did so I can try it.

I'm having a problem with this driver in Windows 7. When I view my devices, there are exclamation points on these:

1) Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology

Device status: This device cannot start. (Code 10)

2) Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter
Manufacturer: Microsoft

Device status: This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I tried to troubleshoot thru Windows 7 by re-installing the drivers of both. However, both installations failed. What seems to be the problem with my system.

What should be the effect of these "troubles"? How will I resolve these issues?

Turbo boost only activates when you need more processor power. Download CPU Z and look at bottom left corner, that is your current speed, If you put your CPU in a stress test like prime95 this number will increase because of the extra power needed

Dell Latitude E6420 is my laptop with Windows 7 Enterprise. Turbo Boost is enabled in BIOS but is disabled in OS according to AIDA64. I managed to install Intel Turbo Boost Monitor but it says that Turbo Boost is not enabled. Although i still see standard speed but i also see Energy Saver appears when CPU runs at less than standard speed.

What is interesting is that Turbo Boost gets enabled in OS only when SpeedStep is enabled as well in BIOS. This slows down CPU to ~700Mhz and stays there no matter what. Enabling\Disabling C-State did not do anything and there is no multiplier.

Intel Chipset Utility is latest version and i did not find any Turbo Boost driver, nor any service in Administration.

Some time ago I replaced the processor in my Lenovo G500 laptop from Intel Core i3, 3rd Gen (I don't remember the exact model), to Intel Core i5-3340M.The new processor model i installed has Intel Turbo Boost Technology, it's frequency can go from 2.7 GHz to 3.4 GHz. The thing is it doesn't seem to be working. I know boost should work automatically but I don't think it does. I used HWMonitor and CPU-Z to check the frequency and it doesn't go above 2.7 GHz. I watched the frequency through HWMonitor when using CPU-heavy programs, even if i stress the CPU with cpu-z, it's frequency stays the same (2.7 GHz). There is no option for enabling/disabling Intel Turbo Boost in BIOS. On tasks that are other than gaming (e.g. web browsing, encoding videos), does your Turbo Boost activate? If so, your CPU temperature is probably hot during gaming, and by design when a certain core temperature is reached during load (around 80-85 deg Celcius for example), Turbo boost deactivates to reduce heat.

Here is the problem I have.

I am a "proud owner" of a DX58SO "Smackover" Intel Motherboard, which so far hasn't disappointed me, but I have some serious issues which are rather annoying.

1. Boot times are slow. Really. I Googled for a solution and I found others have been complaining of this as well. Seems like DX58SO is a notorious slow booter.
2. My Razer Naga mouse never gets detected properly. Who knows why, it's just an issue I am mentioning for others who will find this thread after me. My Razer Anansi Keyboard works fine, though. Do figure.

Now, the main problem I am coming here for is to ask if Windows Ready Boost on Windows 7, which I already use to speed up my Windows will conflict with Intel Turbo Memory, which is supposed to also help speed up boot times. Is it really worth it to use ? How much gain will Intel Turbo Memory give me in regards to boot times ? Anyone got any experience with this ?

Just on a side note, since Razer Support have been very reluctant to answer this question, is plugging my Razer Naga mouse into a Powered USB Port going to hurt its extended functionality, like Macro Recording and Key Mapping ?

I would be very grateful for any input you can give me on these issues.

Here are my system specs.

Im 100% sure this laptop can handle 7300HQ under 90 degree without strong cooling nor a laptop cooler so i wonder why there is such a harsh thermal lock? Perhaps the problem is my bios version?? I also believe bios shouldn't be locked, i know it is for protecting c... Read more

Hi, I have a Ideapad Y500 and have some HDD stability issues. I found that the version which is running on my Windows 10 system is 11.5.0.1207 .  The latest version from Intel is 15.9.0.1015 (date 11/14/2017 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/55005/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST). I do not see a recent version on the Lenovo website.  Which version is recommended by Lenovo or can I install? My disks are:SanDisk SSD U100 16GBST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB 931GB For some Lenovo products I see new? downloads from 2012 which was Windows 8, so not very recent ..(https://support.lenovo.com/nl/en/downloads/) Thanks in advance!

Hi to evreyone! So recently I bought a brand new Lenovo Z710 (i7-4700mq, intel hd 4600 and nvidia gt745m). I then installed windows 8.1 (genuine) and all the drivers on the cd that came with the machine. But it seems there is a big problem with the graphics card. Nvidia gt745 seems like its not there. The Geforce Experience and nvidia control panel fail to recognize it, although it's there on Windows Driver Manager. When I try to load a game (WOW) it crashes on the loading screen. "Display driver has stopped responding..." bubble appears and a minute or so afterwards, there is a bsod. The game works on the integrated card (intel hd 4600) when nvidia is disabled or its driver is uninstalled.I tried reinstalling the drivers, downloading and installing the recent ones, removing all graphic drivers and reintalling them in different order, tried safe mode, changed some bios settings, but still nothing happened.Could this be any kind of driver compatibility issue or simply a windows thing, or is it a hardware problem? Could the nvidia be faulty or the laptop itself? I want to try anything before turning it back to where I bought it for a look... So your ideas will be vastly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, my laptop was original with CPU  i5 4210M and I was thinking to upgrade CPU, I saw already here that sume users did upgradeI saw that possible upgrade is i7 4700MQ, I saw that it is in CPU list of this modelI desided to do it, found CPU in ebay and boght itI have removed i5 and put i7 4700MQ , every thing looks ok, but no, problems start after the changeI saw that battery doesnt charge, and when laptop is with battery  then power consumation is from battery only, even it is pluged in AC adapter. I saw that new CPU is 47W, so may be power adapter is not ok, original adapter is 65W,when I remove battery, it seems laptop work good, but when I start Aida burning test CPU is on 100% but frequency is under 2.4Ghz which is maximum frequency. It seems power is not enoought. And other thing is if I put AC adapter 65W and battery then CPU aways is working on 0.79Ghz, when I remove AC adapter and laptop runs on battery then frequency go to 2.4GhzI saw that maximum adapter for this model is 135W so I thought that I need this one since i7 4700MQ is most powerful processorI bought one 135W but I have exactly same problem as 65W also what is strange I try 90W AC adapter, it is working, on battery it charge it but if I start Aida burning test CPU not work on high frequency level.135W Charger is 135W, Delta ADL135NDC3A 20V6.75A adapter from year 2014, but 90W is from 2018 It is strange that I can't find simular problem when I google. Is someo...
