I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello,I've had this laptop for about 2 years and I've had problems with the keyboard. For some reason the Enter, Backspace and Spacebar keys work on and off, most of the time they never work then they work and then don't work again. I've tried enabling/ disabling sticky keys and filter keys, updating/reinstalling the keyboard driver and even a clean install of windows and nothing worked. My question is if it's possible to fix it? I bought a new keyboard for my laptop but is it even replaceable? Seems like you have to take the entire laptop apart to replace the keyboard.. Thanks ahead

Hi Lidor718,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Yes it is possible to fix intermittent key failure.

Checking with the hardware manual, there is no specific part number for just the keyboard alone as it shows that the keyboard is integrated on the upper case cover. Replacement is also a challenge as it shows the need to remove most parts out (as shown here on page 55).

How to Look Up and Purchase Accessories, Upgrades, and FRU/CRU Replacement Parts

I hope this helps answer your query.

Hello everyone, I bought a Lenovo YOGA 500 15 15ISK  only a few days ago and today I had finally the time to unbox it and turn it on.I have to say I was quite impressed with the design and how light the laptop is. However, my good impressions pretty much stopped there. Upon loging in windows (laptop comes with Windows 10 preinstalled) I came across a painful screen flickering and a problematic mouse pointer movement (both with the mouse and touchpad). When I carried out an initial google search I was shocked with the number of people that had similar problems to mine, literally thousands!I have a good day trying to sort out the screen flickering (I have fixed the mouse pointer movement) and eventhough I found a couple of suggestions and solutions that initially worked, the problem returned after a few minutes. Furthermore, when I was browsing a webpage and then moved on to a new one I could see an imprint of the previous page, as if the previous letters were imprinted on the monitor. I have also experienced 4 times in about 6 hours a lovely black screen (dark grey actually) where the only option was to switch the power off after a few minutes in order to manage to get the screen to work again. My first comment is that I find it discraceful that a company sells a product in such state, especially since the problem is well documented by thousands of user. As far as I am concerned, and the law dictates, a new product has to be in full working order and work to... Read more

How did you fix the mouse problem!? I bought the same computer and had these same problems.  I found the display driver issue online (screen flickering, seems to be be avoided if using Chrome instead of Edge or Firefox).  That was annoying but the biggest problem was the mouse.  With the trackpad or an external mouse (with updated drivers or rolling back) the issue persisted.  The problem can be described as the mouse not moving in a fluid motion, constantly getting stuck for just a small period, appearing jumpy or sticky.  It was incredibly frustrating.  I returned the laptop assuming it was defective, however the replacement unit had the same problem.  The problem only started after the computer performed its first Windows Update.  So I removed the security update (Windows wouldn't let me remove all the other updates), and the problem vanished.  However, a day later it did more updates and the problem was back.  Since I couldn't find documentation online, I wasn't aware if a fix was even being planned.  For a brand new laptop, it was pretty appaling.  It's a shame, because I like my old Lenovo laptop. On a side note - there are related problems with the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book, so it might just be an Intel Graphics HD 520 / i5-6200U problem.  But at this point, I don't want a Lenovo OR any other laptop with that processor...

Hello everyone,

yesterday, 9.4.2016, windows update installed update with this name "Lenovo Ltd. driver update for Lenovo System Firmaware V 001". The problem is, that after that, my keyboard started to "stuck" at Mechwarrior game (do not even have to be in game, login screen is enough and if I alt+tab, it is stucking in windows too). Every half a second there is slight pause, whene the pressed key is stucked for a few moments and if no key is pressed, than you cannot press key for a few moments. It is quite annoying. I updated keyboard drivers but to no help. I wanted to uninstall that Lenovo update, but there is not an option to do so, unlikely other windows updates.

My question is following, anyone knows, what that update was about? What firmware was updated? In device manager system firmware version is still unchanged for half a year. And I was unable to find anything about it over the internet. Also, since I have no idea what was updated, I cannot revert to older version.

Thanks in advance to everyone.

Edit: Forgot to mention my notebook is Yoga 500, 15-ISK.

Hello all, I bought a Lenovo Yoga 710, model 710-15ISK, brand new from best buy a week ago and I started noticing something super annoying. This laptop has the I7 processor, 256gb SSD, 16gb ram, HD 520 and GeForce 940mx. Outside of the constant hum from the fan, my laptop makes a sporadic and intermittent electrical scratching noise or whining sound every time i scroll (screen redraws) or if I load a program like chrome or word. I've heard terms such as coil whine or piezoelectric effect? I am not sure, but it is quite noticeable and quite annoying! It sounds like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOgFPlS_b1s the sound is loudest right in the center of the keyboard, at least for me; the buzz in the video was provoked by loading software and or scrolling up and down on a page or document From what i was reading, it sounds like it has to do with the CPU and the ACPI driver; another possibility is the Intel HD 520 graphics.  Anyone know what is going on, or how to fix it? Thank you in advanced!

I just purchased my laptop about a month ago and when in normal use starting from log in the screen starts to flicker constantly and the screen would also black out here and there. When I boot it in safe mode everything runs fine and the screen doesn't flicker or black out so I'm guessing that it's a graphic driver issue and not a hardware?  I've updated everything in Windows 10.. the drivers are also all updated (Intel HD Graphic 620 and Nvidia Geforce 940MX). I've also tried uninstalling all the drivers and reinstalling them. I've disabled Problem Reports and Solution Control Panel Support & Windows Error Report Service from services in Task Manager. I've tried everything you can think of but can't find a solution!!! Hello, the warranty has expired on our Yoga 500-15ISK, so I wanted to change the HDD for SSD to boost the performance. I have opened the chassis and replaced disk by a new cloned one. Not only the machine doesn't boot, it even doesn't write anything, doesn't switch on the display and any ways to enter the BIOS are unsuccessful. The keyboard backlight works and after a while, the fan goes to the high speeds, but that's all, nothing else. So, I have put the old disk back and it doesn't work with old disk either. It also doesn't work even if there is no disk.  I have tried several things, from disconnecting the battery, reseating the memory, disconnecting the RTC battery, pressing the power button for tens of seconds. A few months ago the laptop was serviced under warranty for the very same problem. That time, after the reboot following the Windows update(?), the laptop ended in the very same state without any physical intervention. The service wrote they changed the motherboard and the problem vanished. But, here it is again. The problem is similar to this guy's:https://superuser.com/questions/1146993/install-cloned-ssd-wont-boot-black-screen-only(but, to me reverting back to the old disk doesn't help). I would be grateful for any help. Thank you,Vlasta

Hello there. I have a few questions regarding the recent release of BIOS update with version number CDCN37WW. Currently my BIOS is on version CDCN35WW. I was about to install it yesterday but did not because of several reasons. I read the instruction saying that I should put the BIOS settings at its default settings before installing the CDCN37WW update and there lies my problem. I bought the 15ISK version with 1TB HDD. A month ago I bought a 128GB SSD and did a clean install of Windows 10 on my new SSD. After booting into Windows 10 on my SSD in Legacy Mode, I format the partition in the 1TB HDD which houses my default installation of Windows 10 (the pre-installed Windows 10 by Lenovo). I did not completely wipe the HDD altogether and thus I still have the partitions created by Lenovo. The main issue that is stopping me from installing the update is my BIOS settiings. In BIOS boot submenu, I have it set to Legacy and then Legacy First so that it detects my SSD. UEFI does not detect my SSD. Default settings sets UEFI instead of Legacy. In conclusion, I cannot install the BIOS update even if I wanted to because I won't be able to boot into Windows 10 on my SSD once I change BIOS settings to default because UEFI (default settings is set to UEFI) does not detect my SSD. My questions are: -1. Does anyone have any solution or workaround to this problem ?2. Is it really compulsory to set the BIOS settings back default ? Or is it just a "... Read more

Hi everyone, I have this Ideapad 700 15ISK for a year and half now. The laptop started giving a random shut down issue 3 months back, after trying every possible solutions from the internet, none of them worked out. Someone suggested me to update the BIOS so I downloaded the BIOS for this model from the Lenovo support page. The update process went all fine from what I saw and the system tried to reboot but it's now stuck at the black screen only, the screen is however turned on but nothing shows up. The Lenovo logo does not appear and I can't access the BIOS settings either... None of the function keys seem to get me to the BIOS settings, even tried the NOVO key but still no luck. I read around that resetting the CMOS battery settings might solve the problem but I'm not sure about this am afraid of damaging the internal parts. Is there any ways I can solve this issue?

Hello all, I actually was looking at an incorrect BIOS update whick was for a V110-15ISK (shown above); however, I actaully have the 110-15ISK Type 80UD laptop which has a different BIOS update available (dated 01/19/2017): Summary of changes
==================
General Information:

1TCN22WW
Added:
1. Update SATA EQ value of Seagate 2T and Hynix 128 SSD for HW request.

Modified:
1. Workaround disable ODT training Fix Hynix DDR4 4G can not power on issue form HW&Hynix solution. Now, from the description, it looks like this one may be necessary depending on the hard drive model and/or memory brand that is installed; however, I won't know for sure until my laptop is delivered. Sorry for the confusion. Cheers, newlaptop

Boot manager recover from critical errorCode error: 03C00252. Some essential variables are absent or corrupted and Boot Manager has restored them from the default configuration. Press F1 to Continue or F2 to Enter Setup. So, Win 10 Pro, Closed my pc in one night with update and shut down(no shut down option). Next morning boot update. Got to win, wi-fi not working, having the ! mark. Restart, wi-fi is working. At night i shut off my pc. In the morning when i start it, that error shows up. I press F1 and everything is fine. At night i close it again, morning start it, the error shows up again. Just that i press F2 and I have no idea what to do there so i leave it. Tested it and it only shows up when i fully close my notebook, not on restarts. This notebook is new, just got it for 2 weeks, and it worked just fine so far until this bios update. Laptop Lenovo V310-15ISK Laptop, model 80SY02H7RI. Any suggestions on what I could do to fix this? Thanks!Bios: 0ZCN40WW

Hi all,

I'm new to Photoshop. I'm trying to save an image without the white square background. I was able to create a layer by going to Image > Extract and tracing around the object. I haven't figured out how to save the extracted object. When I save the image, it looks the same as the original (white background included). I've tried saving in different formats (JPG, GIF, PNG, etc.). How can I save the foreground image only? I've spent way too much time today looking for this, and it's probably very simple (and will make me feel like a schmuck I'm sure).

Thanks.
