I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My girl just got herself a A6-3400M notebook. It comes with AMD Radeon HD 6520g + AMD Radeon HD 6750m Dual Graphics. I'm having a hard time understanding how they work. Do I have to enable the crossfire somewhere or they're already crossfired out of the box? Is there any kind of setting where I would decide which gpu is primary/secondary or that's just not up to me to decide? According to msi afterburner, during a game session(Trine), the only gpu being used is the 6520g, while the 6750m just sits there, doing nothing. Last question, and perhaps the most important: when downloading drivers on AMD's website,
http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/amd-catalyst/pages/catalyst.aspx

Under "find a driver" tab, after choosing "notebook graphics" on the first field, should I select "A-series APU" or "HD Radeon Series" on the second field?

Guys, I'm completely lost here. Any light on the subject would be most welcome. In the meanwhile, I'll try to get her more demanding games and see if we can wake up the 6750m.

Thanks in advance

Hey Everyone, I've recently noticed my laptop slowing as I played games like h1z1 on the lowest setting. Eventually, I would get error messages about my GPU when the game would crash. I noticed my drivers were out of date and SLI was also not enabled. I have since updated the drivers and enabled SLI but I still get many of the same problems.  The laptop has two GeForce GT 750M's. I downloaded MSI afterburner and it shows both graphics cards at 135/405MHz at rest. But while gaming, the second graphics card remains at that same amount and relatively the same temperature while graphics card number one goes to about 1058/2499MHz and 75-90 degrees C temperatures. I've also taken out the ultrabay with graphics card number 2 out and put it back in to make sure it wasn't loose. I honestly don't know what any of the data really means, but I'm really hoping to get this fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Let me know if I can provide any more information!

I am trying to install a windows 7 / XP dual boot on a Lenovo 550P I recently purchased. I have had no problems setting up a new partition and formatting it, but whenever I try and install XP on it, I get partway through the installation process and always get a blue screen of death. It tells me that there is a hard drive error.

To test this, I installed a copy of Vista 64 on the partition with no problems. I wiped the drive and started again with XP and had the same problem.

I am now wondering if there is an incompatability between XP and the hardware in my system. The system specs are:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 720QM(1.6GHz)
Chipset: Intel PM55
HDD: 500 GB
Memory: 4 GB

I am wanting the XP OS so I can use my old 32 bit compilers. I have considered reformating the entire drive and making it an XP machine, but do not know if there is an intrensic incompatibility between XP and the hardware.
thanks.

A:Lenovo laptop dual boot problem

welcome to sevenforums!
Where did you get your windows xp cd? If you downloaded that cd from utorrent, there is a small chance that the cd isn't bootable or corrupted.
Also, I have had similar experience on my HP g70. It wouldn't install windows xp no matter what I try. I cannot run the installer from windows of course (application hard block) and whenever it boots up, it would have a disk warning.
I think that some manufacturers include something in their bios to make sure the system is stuck with vista or beyond, or that perhaps, the new hardware available in the nine years since xp made its entrance, made the xp incompatible. I mean, can your xp recognize your cpu or chipset?
Perhaps the only possible method would be to run xpfrom a virtual machine.
Judging from your system configuration, virtualization wouldn't be that bad, it would run pretty well
Thus, my suggestion would be to install windows 7 and simply run it from XP Mode. For that, you will need a copy of windows 7 professional or ultimate (tad bit more expensive than home premium). Or you can buy a home premium and install something like virtualbox.
Seriously xp, is more trouble than its worth. Even if you manage to install it, you will need a TON of times getting all the drivers for it. Xp doesn't have generic or native drivers so you will need a flash drive to store the drivers lol. Windows 7, however, has generic drivers for almost all modern hardware, so you will ahve a better "out of box" exp... Read more

Hello Sirs and Madames,

Kindly help out a lost person if you have time.

Situation:

I have a Lenovo Z500 laptop which I installed with Windows 7 Professional (x86) and a Windows 8.1 Professional (x64).
I installed all my work programs in Windows 7 and my gaming environment is at Windows 8.

Problem:

Some of my work programs are starting to have bugs. some Visual Basic stuff with my autocad have not functioned well like before when I first set this up. I want to reformat only the Windows 7 OS without affecting the Windows 8. I already did this once before but I stupidly reformatted my Windows 8 OS in the process.

Question:

Is there a possibility that I can format only the windows 7 without affecting the Windows 8 OS?
Desperately seeking for help,

Zy

Hi there,

I have a Lenovo 3000 c100 notebook and have recently installed windows 7 however I don't think my video controller is working at all. I am trying to run football manager 2013 and when xp was on it originally it ran it without a problem however having installed windows 7 it wont even launch.

I have checked in device manager and two items, vga flash memory and vga video controller are both not available. I have tried updating them through device manager but it doesn't find any drivers.

I don't have any other games to test it on so have no way of checking to see if the video card works.

Could someone please help me solve this problem

Hello,I can't seem to find specific information about this pc related to this topic. I have a client that wants to have a hdmi port and dual monitor installed. I looked everywhere in the bios settings, I tried using a usb-to-vga adapter & and vga, dvi-d cable & vga (this mirrors both monitors, but cannot extend the display). When I changed the settings on the bios to use the built in graphics, it gives me the option to enable multiple monitors but cannot use my pcie graphic card. If i select to use the pcie graphic card, i cannot use the built in graphic ports or the usb-to-vga adapter (it does not see the other monitor) and also if I use the dvi adpater and the vga it mirrors the display. I'm guessing that the bios does not support dual graphic cards but thought of asking here. The reason the client wants this is to be able to connect a projector using hdmi and to have dual monitors. Any information will be greatly appreaciate it. Thank you.

CrazyFoolMrT,

It sounds like you are using the most up to date BIOS we have posted for that model. Since the BIOS you are using is LEGACY, you will need to make sure the video card you are using supports that type of BIOS and not UEFI only. There are video cards that support only LEGACY, only UEFI, and both.

I've seen a lot of people ask the opposite and I tried the solutions given to them in hopes of helping with my problem but they don;'t work. Basically, I want to be able to use the functions of the F1-F12 keys by pressing the Fn key like in other laptops so that I could use the F# keys for something else. I play games on emulators, you see, and the F1-12 keys are for quicksaves (by shift + F1-12 and just pressing the F1-12 to load) which I couldn't use because pressing the F1-12 keys right now would just make them use their functions instead of letting me save my game and it's kind of a problem for me. Can anyone help? Ive been having issue with my lenovo G580 laptop. Its been stuck in a constant startup repair loop.

Using posts on this forum, ive tried to rectify the problem myself but realised its beyond me but Ive made changes using the DISKPART feature of windows at the command prompt stage, and I think ive disabled the recovery options.

Ive tried to use the onekey recovery service preinatlled onto the laptop. Usually just press the recovery button, next to the power button but pressing this now just boots into the system repair loop.

Does anyone know how I can rectify this?

A:How to re enable lenovo onekey recovery

You can try setting the recovery partition active using partition wizard boot disk, then rebooting to try one key recovery again. There should also be a way to relink recovery to the one key button.

But the factory install is an inferior install to begin with so you'd be better off doing the reinstall in the tutorial under signature picture below.

When windows boots without a dedicated video driver it uses a default driver. So if the video card is still working you should still have video.

If not just plug into the onboard video and the same should apply.

Windows XP Tablet Edition had to be removed from my Lenovo ThinkPad X41 tablet because the PC was issued for school, and the school-licensed software had to be removed. Now I'm running Windows XP Pro (a mistake on the school technical administrator's part?), and the touch screen no longer responds to the stylus.
I tried to contact the school technical administrator, calling to his attention that I'm no longer running Tablet Edition, which is probably necessary, but he has not responded.
I've tried installing such drivers as 7jge15ww and 913z07us, and I've run the ThinkVantage System Update several times, to no avail. Is there a driver I'm overlooking? Is it at all possible to simply USE my tablet properly without having to go out and buy Windows XP Tablet Edition?

If the Recovery Partition is still intact and accessible you can return to Windows XP Tablet Edition by following these instructions: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4UFUYK

Looking at the downloads I don't see a driver for the Touch Screen: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67100
When you ran the System Update utility you installed all the drivers and software/accessories updates?

Subsystem: Dell Device 0658
Kernel driver in use: fglrx_pci

Hi,

I have a Compaq SR5000 desktop with windows vista home premium and I wanted to install a second graphics card to use a 2nd monitor. I installed the 2nd card, however it automtically disables the onboard card which I don't it to do.When I look in device manager the onboard card doesn't appear anywhere or I can't get it to appear. There is an option in the BIOS to choose the main display , either th eonboard, pci or pci-E, so obviously I've tried the onboard option, but it still is disabled. I've got the drivers for the onboard card and tried to install them while having the 2nd graphics card in but that didn't work. Is there anything I can do to get this working or is it just not possible, any advice appreciated.
Thks.

This behavior is pretty typical on most systems. Generally if you want to run multiple monitors you can do it from the same graphic device, so in this case off the new add-in graphics card. Does the new graphics card not have multiple outputs? What is the exact card you both and what connections do each of the monitors have?

Hello, I'm enjoying my new P51s. Configured with PCIe SSD, etc it is a very nice work horse to say the least! Battery life is great. 12 hours of solid work with no issue. I have the large second battery. My question is can I have the back lit keyboard come out either automatically or just simply be on all the time? It works fine to us the Fn+space but I'd rather it takes care of it's self and I can work happily!

Hi there, I'm having trouble with my W500. I have connected a display port cable to my monitor and laptop, but it's displaying one screen on both of them. I want to be able to actually have two screens to work with, how can I accomplish this? I try and go into display settings and click detect, but it simply says "Didn't detect another display", which is weird because I have my second display projecting whatever is on my laptop screen.  I have Windows 8.1. Thank you.

Hi, I have a Dell Precision T3620 with only the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530. The motherboard has 2 display ports and an HDMI. I have 2 monitors, both with DVI + VGA inputs. I bought 2 adapters (display port to VGA) but I'm not able to enable both the monitors. The second screen is not correctly identified and remains black. Is it possible to enable both the display ports? I read that Intel HD Graphics 530 has the multiple monitor capability. I've looked for a bios setting too, but I don't see nothing like "enable multiple monitor". Can someone help me? Thanks

A:How to Enable Aero in Windows 7 in unsupported Graphics

Check out how this guy got his Dell 2400 to work with Aero, scroll down to post #5. He installed a Gforce 5500FX which he purchased for 25 bucks off ebay. He ran a 2.9 wei for the graphics score which would run aero.
