I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Copy-and-paste a HijackThis log here so we can see what's installed and what's running in the background.

Don't ever fall for installing something from a pop-up.

Some reading about Antivirus 360:

After you post a log, we'll likely have your thread moved to the "malware/hijackthis" section for assistance.

Hi

I am about to ressurect my own www site and I would very much like to put a link somewhere on the page to TSG. Is there a selection of banners or something similar available that I could choose from? If so, would anyone please be kind enough to provide the code.

I have seen recently some new banners such as 'Thanks from TSG' and 'Welcome to TSG' - obviously in graphic format. Would appreciate any pointers.

Many thanks,

John

Is there a good, free ad stopper site where I can go to help me get rid of this thing?!?!? Some say they have Firefox and can disable them there, but I have IE and don't want to make any changes.

HELP PLEASE!!

Thanks, Cin

It is hard to answer not knowing the page in question.
Disabling Flash if it is a Flash ad might help.

Hi: I'm not sure if I've got the right board or not...but, I can make banners - and I can put them up on my website - I just can't figure out how to offer people the code to link them back to my site. Do they download the image to their computer first? Is there a formula for this code? I'd like to do a banner exchange on my website and this would be so helpful. Thanks so much.

Today the W10 banner covered up the area where I enter my search. In the past I just poked the white area and the banner moved out of the way. No more. What gives. Am I not allowed to search using Explorer any more. Why should I be forced to use Bing or anything else I don't want to. I should point out I use MSN as my home page. Been doing it for years and like an old dog am just too old to change, even if I knew how!

Ok, so first post to this forum. My actual problem is that I seem to have some sort of hijack malware (can't think of any other term for it). On various pages, the normal banner ads and legitimately placed banners are being replaced by a variety of random ads, usually of the porn/dating site variety. I've run AdAware, Spybot, AVG, AVERT Stinger, and VUNDOFix, none of which has fixed the issue, despite most of them finding things to remove. I'm just looking for a solution, so any help would be appreciated. Hi, Over the past month I have accumulated problems with my computer. I downloaded anti-malware tools to clean it up and it removed/cleaned 1200 files infected with trojans, viruses, and malware. However, I still get Internet Explorer pop ups and ads (not connected with the web page) that appear quite often on different web pages. These ads can be closed by clicking an "x". Hello again I never sorted my SP2 problem with internet options. I work around it. However I have a banner at the bottom of my screen which advertises links viz.; Make Money; Music; Casino; Investing; etc. The dump symbol doesn't work. I suspect it's a manifestation of LOP.COM
In my efforts to unseat this I procured a software program called Register Clean which allegedly removed 300 defunct entries which may cause trouble.
Any suggestions pease ?

Windows XP systems connected to the Internet will automatically install the new software in the middle of the night when no one is looking. Click to expand...

i have that setting turned off in my computer. (damn auto update. its evil!) lol

but tha'ts really funny. however, i havent seen the bsod in my xp machine. and if i have, its a lighter blue. and has much nice text. i think its tahoma or arial. unlike the other one which was like..who knows what. it was ugly.

but ywah, when my system crashes, it doenst show the bsod, it just restarts, and when its done, i log back in, and THEN it tells me "your compie survived a crash, click here to send the crash info to your friends and microsoft."

i think this is an opportunity for them to use personalised target advertising. simply have the poeple asnwer a few questions about what they like and what they buy, and all advertisemenst via the BSOD, will be personalised for the user to increase sales.

if all goes well, i expect to see video game advertisements in MY blue screen of death.

Hiya guys.

I've had some spyware and the occasional virus in my computing days. But never have I had such problems as I do now. A few days a go I got TOTALLY pwned my a banner which ran like five billions scripts when I clicked on it.

So, anyway, I've been browsing forums and homepages for a solution to my problem, but with no luck. So I decided to come here and ask for help, because clearly this is over my head.

My problems mainly consist of this:

I have (according to WXP) a virus called sspMyDoom.cih.

Sometimes when I enter an URL in the searchbar for explorer I get riderected to onemoresearch.com or something like that. I get popups that advertise for spyware removal programs (The nerve!). They all have the title "Only the best"

Also, sometimes when I enter an URL I instead arrive to Res://xqeqo.dll

And my comp is alot more slow than usual.

I'm Running Windows XP on an Athlon 64 3000+. My HTS log is as follows:

Hi

One of my sites has become popular enough that I am interested in trying to get
some banner ads to defray my costs (and what the heck if I make some extra $).

Anyway, what is the best way to get banner ads (finding the advertizers) and installing
them (never did one that has money involved).

How are they usually paid for? By # of click throughs, by the month ??

Thanks in advance for any help!

John

Hi,

(Windows XP, Internet Explorer 7)
When I go to this page http://www.bbsradio.com/bbc/a_fireside_chat.php
(or any of the other shows listed on the main bbsradio.com page)
My screen doesn't display a banner. Specifically where I'm talking about is
under the round buttons that say BBS Station 1, 2, 3 etc., on the
right side of the page above the time, there is suppose to be a banner.
My screen only shows a line saying advertiser/sponsor then below
that is the show airing time.

Can anyone tell me what setting I need to change to be able to see
everything on a webpage? I have used CCleaner, and have possibly
deleted a needed file extension. Other than that, I don't know why my
screen isn't displaying the full webpage.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi, Briddique here, this is my first post. I'm having trouble with banner ads that keep popping up at the top of my browser page in nearly every site I visit. I used an old registry cleaner which seemed to solve the problem at first, but I think it's been infected now. When I looked through my anti-virus logs, I found the name:[email protected] about three times. I have the program Registry Genius, but I've never had trouble with it before. I don'tknow if this is related, but whenever I open a "new tab" in Firefox, I get this message every time: Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol(mhtb) isn't associated with any program. I believe that you would need to have HTML code on the page that is displaying the banner. The entire banner could be a clickable link or an Image Map tag could be used to only make the button area an active link.

Hello everyone.

As many of you know months ago introduced the "Cookie Law : the law for which a site should display a banner in case of technical or profiling cookie. Of course in my opinion the situation was handled badly, as it hardly will instruct customers.

Honestly, how many people do you think will read the banners and how many will strive to understand the content?

A few...in my opinion.

But that's not what interests me. The main problem is that doing so will educate users to press "accept" on the banners present on the internet pages from their visit. In practice, users who already are normally disinclined to distinguish a valid banner from one containing phishing material, are instructed to press on the banners that are around.

So I think this campaign, aimed at raising awareness of users about the use of cookies, make them less attentive and more exposed to attacks that can use social engineering techniques.

What do you think?

A:Banner cookies

I think you have a very good point there, the thought had not crossed my mind untill now but you are right it could create extra vulnerability to users.

I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, but here is the answer to what I think. To have a .gif as a link it would look something like this: <a href="Link URL">

If this is to go on another site, then the full path to yor .gif will be required. Did I make sense?

Often when I log into Netflix, banner ads pop up on each page (with small text at the bottom right saying "ads not by this site" and then they come up on every page in Netflix. The ads are for actual sites (including banks). The ads come up with Firefox and Explorer. The ads make it impossible to use the toggle/full screen, play/stop buttons (they are disappeared off the screen).

I can usually get a clean browser open on Netflix when I open Firefox or Explorer, then close it and open the other browser, then close it and open the other browser again.

It doesn't seem to affect other webpages.

I want to make a flash banner using three images that I have created. Is there a free program that can do this, or can anyone here make the flash banner for me?

What happened
About 17 days ago now, while I was searching something on Google, while using Google Chrome, a banner came up on the top of the web page (to clarify, the top of the Google search results, not as part of Chrome). I was, at the time, logged in to my Google account, on my Windows 10 machine. The banner had a blue shield icon in the top left corner, in the center, some text along the lines of "update your account for added security and transparency", and to the right, two blue buttons along the lines of "no thanks" and "tell me more". The banner actually used Google resources, it looked like something made by Google, and not cheap or fake looking at all. If I closed the search, the banner would go away, but would sometimes pop up again. I tried to see if it would pop up on another computer, my Mac, but it never seemed to.
I was a bit suspicious, and didn't want to click on the links, since they seemed so unprompted. A quick google search provided no information concerning any sort of account update, which made me more suspicious. The closest was a several year old post about adwords or adsense, which I don't use. Though I did try to get Google App Engine running, before I learned I had to pay for it, and backed out part way through the signup process. This also happened a day or two after an update for Kaspersky, during which Windows 10 warned me I was unprotected and that I should turn on Defender.
