I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello everyone. I must say that it is a lovely laptop but the touch screen issue is making me very upset. I called  Lenovo and Microsoft support and those people doesn't even have a bit of knowledge. Many incertain process and lot of doubts in them. But it can't be a hardware problem. I bought it 1 week ago and when I opened the factory sealed box the touch screen worked perfectly! And a few hours later would stop working. No pen and touch input available, no hid compliant touch screen in device manager. I read almost every thread about this complain in this forum. Tried everything without success. The laptop is 99% good.. But without the touch screen is like trash. Hope someone can understand and if there's a solution, please tell me and I beg you send me specifics links or specifics procedures, please don't tell me "go to support.lenovo.com"  or "do a system recovery or windows 10 update", etc. Thank you.

So I've had my ideapad for a bit longer than a year (less than a month since my year-long warranty expired, to be a little more exact), and just a couple days ago I noticed some cracking at the top of the screen, next to the camera. It has since progressed and now spans the screen. The touch screen still worked in places but now that the crack has reached the ede of the screen it's randomly clicking icons on the left side of the screen so I've turned the touch screen off.  I figured out the cause of the issue, since I haven't dropped it, because the crack originates from the location where I open the computer up from. That's right, over time opening of the laptop has actually cracked the screen. I'm very distraught at the crack crossing the laptop screen, but moreso I want Lenovo engineers to know that maybe the joints connecting the screen and the base are a little too tight. It's difficult to balance something that can be easily adjusted with something that will retain its structure when set at a certain angle, but maybe you should have a switch that allows the joints to change from a locked to an unlocked position. So in retrospect I'm wondering how else was I supposed to open the laptop, as apparently putting my hand at the top and flipping the screen up was not what the laptop was made for.

Hello, I need help fixing the Touch Screen on my Flex15D Ideapad. I did a fresh install to Windows 10 and the Touch Screen stopped working. I tried every solution on these forums by going into Device Manager and disabling/uninstalling the HID compliant touch screen driver along with the HID Usb driver in that same section.  I also checked the Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111) and that doesn't exist there. I checked to make sure the USB Hub is enabled and not disabled under Universal Serial Bus controllers section. I tried installing every Driver in the book from the Support section. I even tried reverting back to Windows 8.1 and STILL NOTHING and I went through all the same steps as I did on Windows 10. And apparently this is a rampant problem with Lenovo Touch Screen laptops with no real solution. Is there anything that works? Thanks.

I have Ideapad Flex 14 Ideapad S100 with Windows 10 having latest updates. A few days ago I had realized that thouch screen doesn't work any more. After consultation with Lenovo Turkey, which was insisting on recovery, I recovered my ideapad turning back to an image taken by Win10 two months ago. This step did not help. Some how next day after recovery in the morning it worked only for a few hours then stopped working again. I tried to disable and enable the "HID-compliant device" or other relaten USB items and reinstalled/activated, it did not help.I hope it is a software/driver failure and this problem will be solved soon by Lenovo.

The touchscreen on my Flex 15 stopped working. I am not sure exactly when, but in the last few months.  I am already on Win10, and it has worked fine since the Win10 upgrade over a year ago.  In Device Manager, I can see the HID Touch Screen entry.  I tried uninstalling and deleting it, followed by a restart.  Reinstalled itself on start-up, but no joy.  It claims to be working.   I have seen other similar posts saying to delete entries under Mice... but I don't see any Touch Screen entries there.Interestingly, I see most of the drivers have Event dates of 2-Jul 2017, saying "Device migrated". I am suspecting some delightful Micorsoft "improvement" on that date may have been the cuplrit, but I also feel like the touch screen may have been working after that date.  Unfortunately, I don't use the touch screen very often, but I DO need it now and then. Thoughts?

I noticed my touch screen stopped working yesterday May 14, 2018. I have looked under Human Interface Devices and the HID-Compliant touch screen Properties window says "The device is working properly." I have also tried to update the driver, but the system says there are no updates available and that the only driver in existence is the original (June 21, 2006). I have also tried disabling and enabling the device and several restarts with no luck. Any advice?

I have bought a new Lenovo Ideapad Flex 4 1580 which is running a Windows 10. It's fan is always on, varying between lower and higher fan speeds, but it never turns off. Computer starts the fan immediately when the "Lenovo" logo is shown, not some time after Windows is started. Windows installation is fresh, there are no new applications installed, I have updated BIOS to the latest version, as well as all the drivers. Windows has the latest updates, as of today (6th of May 2017). CPUID tool is showing CPU temperature of 36-37 degrees Celsius (96 Fahrenheit), which is pretty low and should not have fans running at all. As soon as the temperature goes to 40 degrees Celsius ( 104 Fahrenheit), the fan becomes very, very loud. Task manager is showing minial usage of CPU, Memory and Disk. Any ideas what I might try next? Thanks

I just received this machine (from Costco https://www.costco.com/Lenovo-Flex-4-Series-2-in-1-Touchscreen-Laptop---Intel-Core-i7---2GB-Graphics...) in the mail and it's been a mess to get set up in regards to the graphics.  It has an integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 card and a dedicated 2GB AMD Radeon R7 M460 Graphics card.  I have two main issues: I keep getting a BSOD related to dxgmmm2.sys when the Radeon card is enabled.  I found the computer is stable and working just fine when it's disabled.  I've tried installing a new/updated driver but I have to enable the driver to do that (then the BSOD comes within seconds of the computer accessing it).  The Intel card does not output any image to the third monitor I have connected via a USB/VGA adapter.  Though the machine recognizes it and allows windows to move off into that monitor, there is no picture.  The monitor is on, connected, and works properly.  It flashes when I start up the computer and make changes to the display.  I've also done a factory reset on the monitor a couple of times to no avail. Any ideas how I can get this running correctly?

After unpacking new Flex 3 1580, on first boot, renamed PC and clicked Restart.  Black screen.  Unplugged AC, held power for 30 sec, closed lid, plugged back in, opened lid, hit power, and it boots right up.  Okay.  Hit restart again.  Black screen.  Great.  Repeated previous steps, boots right up again. Updated all drivers, installed all Windows updates, flashed new BIOS, etc...still restarting computer causes black screen.  Did OneKey factory reset: no help.  Repeated previous fixes, no help.  Contacted Lenovo support - only offer was to mail in computer.  Now I realize anyone else would have sent it in, or returned it to the store long before now, but it was really nagging me that I couldn't figure out what was going on. I was getting very close to returning/exchanging it when: accidental discovery! After hitting restart (for the 9000th time), I bumped the screen with my arm.  FIRST SUCCESSFUL REBOOT.  **bleep**, okay.  After additional testing: restart works (every time) in tablet mode or tent mode, and 50% of the time if lid is actively being tweaked during boot. To summarize: something is causing it to think the lid is closed and boot to a (non-existent) external device.  Of course now that I've solved it, I think I should probably have the store replace it anyway.  Here's the question: Is this a firmware issue on all Lenovo Flex 3 1580s, or did this one just ship with a ... Is there a BIOS I can use that doesn't involve using Windows? Are there known issues with the VGA cable being severed or shorted out internally? I've already ordered a new VGA cable in case I have to replace it, however I'd rather not go through the trouble of replacing the cable if there is no need.

hi Hersh,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First do a Power Drain
     (If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
                  If not
I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

Hi there, sorry to be a bother.Like the title says, my touch screen stopped working. I went on to my computer one afternoon and found my mouse stuck in the top left corner, fidgeting. This was what I was expiriencing. (My touch-screen still worked fine at the time, but I still couldn't do anything or control the mouse, but I could tell that it was still working and it still responded.) After a bit of time and a few restarts later, it went back to normal, but my touch-screen then stopped working. I'm used to the touch-screen working incorrectly occasionally, and much like the mouse thing, a restart or two helps. It has now been three days and my touchs-creen still does not work. I've tried many of the solutions found in these forums, but to no avail. I am running Windows 10 and have had this computer for 2+ years.  Thanks.

Hi all, I've owned my Flex 5 for a little under a month now. Truh be told, so far I haven't really used the touch screen, save for on the first day when I was doodling a bit using the pen. Today, I touched the screen quite by accident, and then realised I didn't get any response, so I tried again, only to realize, the touch screen is fully unresponsive. I checked the device manager. it says it's functioning properly.. I checked the website and everything is up to date driver wise. I disabled/enabled/uninstalled, restarted the HID complient touch screen, all to no avail. I'ts true I rarely use the touch screen feature so far, but it sucks to know that in a little under a month, I'm having issues with this feature already. I even went so far as to reset my computer, on the off chance there was some issue/bug. No change. Has anyone had such an issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Edit : Just realised that the touch sceen is working fine with the pen, but I get absolutly no response when using fingers. Don't know if that helps diagonse anything

A:Flex 5 Touch screen not working

I've had this issue as well. It's not an isolated incident. There are hundreds of posts online related to Lenovo Flex 5-1750 (80XB) talking about how the touch screen has stopped working. It happened to me after I had this device for less than a month. I was unable to update the driver. Even with a tech support person from Lenove we could not solve the issue. So I was told to return the laptop because it's a hardware issue that they need to fix. Yesterday I wrote in another post and said that Lenovo needs to make a driver available so that people can re-install it. Well, it seems like that's just what they did because this morning I've been able to update the driver and the touch screen is back. Windows 10 was able to troubleshoot and apply a driver update. This may or may not work for your situation but the problem is real.

I tried uninstal this driver, when i do that my touch screen starts working for like 3 seconds and than it stops working again. By the way this is rare to see box called HID in my device manager usually it doesnīt even show up. I tried update drivers through windows update. That didnīt change a thing so i update almost every driver manually (i download all of them from official lenovo support site) . And guess what, that did not worked eather. She likes the way our Samsung Note handles the S-pen and she would want to use a simialr pen with the laptop at classes.

Is there such a facility for pens with sharp edges to be used with a Flex for example?
Or we should jsut get those black, rubber, thick capacitive pens?

Here is a pen great for writing: http://www.adonit.net/jot/pro/Just search for 'best capacitive stylus' on Google. Pick the one you like mostAre you interested in the ThinkPad 10 perhaps? It has a digitizer pen, it will also disable touch input while the pen is being used. Which is quite useful. It is a small step up to 700 EUR. Also get the keyboard dock.http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/tablets/thinkpad/thinkpad-10/I can say with 100% certainty your wife will love it. I got its more expensive brother the ThinkPad Helix. If a student can love it, so can the teacher right ;-) ?The ThinkPad 10 has many flexible options she might be interested in. You won't find anything better for that price.

My Ideapad Flex 15 had a Windows 10 update a couple of weeks ago. A week to 10 days later, I discovered that my touch screen was no longer working.

I've checked the Device Manager control panels and drivers and everything is up to date.
I did the uninstall of the HID-Compliant Touch Screen Device & Reboot that is noted elsewhere on the Lenovo Search Results and that simply re-installed the device which still didn't work.

At one point I was able to access an update log, which said that the Windows update was done, but below this showed that the update had deleted 2 Lenovo Systems Driver Packages.  Should Windows remove stuff that the MFR included to run the computer??  (Of course once this info window closed, I haven't been able to get it back again either.)

Has anyone else had a similar issue or have a solution??
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

Hello; I purchased 2 Flex 3 laptops a few weeks ago.  One of them had an intermittent touchscreen problem.  It boiled down to a USB driver issue.  In the Device Manager under USB Controllers I got a yellow Triangle with an exclamation next to "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)".  If I disabled and then enabled that driver the touchscreen would start working.  I ended up returning that laptop thinking it was just a faulty unit, but today my 2nd Flex 3 did the same thing.  As far as I know all my drivers are updated an I'm running Windows 10. I don't really want to have to disable and enable drivers every other day so I'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue and if so if there is a fix. Attached is a screenshot of the Device Manager.

I downgraded a Flex 3-1130 from Windows 10 to Windows 7 32 bit. I was able to get all the devices working except the touch screen. It worked in Win10, but cant get it going in Win7. There are zero 32 bit Win7 drivers on the support page for this product, I had to get each and every device working by searching the internet, a tiresome task. In the device manager, there are no HID pointing devices to enable. I tried installing the touch pack for windows 7 from Microsoft, and it failed, and tells me that I need a computer with a touch screen. There are however (3) unknown devices in the device manager, all with the same hardware ID.... ACPI\808622C1 When I search google for the hardware ID above I get that this ID may be associated with Intel(R) Serial IO I2C ES Controller driver, however when I look that up, it seems the closest thing to that is the IntelŪ Processor I/O Controller Driver for Windows 7. When I install that, it does not do the trick. I also use the unhide feature in device manager, and there are no HID pointing devices. I dont think it is a BIOS issue, because the touch screen works in Windows 10. I also tried the intel driver update utility and some driver support software, nothing found it. Nor did windows update. I would appreciate any ideas how I can get this working.

So last night I came home from dinner and my laptop was on the floor. It's fallen off my bed before so I didn't think much of it until I turned it on and it didn't respond to my touch. After some investigation, everything that has to do with the touch screen is gone. There are no setting on the laptop for the touch screen and there is no way to calibrate the screen. I'd like to try and avoid factory resetting the laptop as I do not have a way to backup my system right now. (My family member who helped me with this in the past lives in another state now) I also noticed that the computer itself didn't pick up the serial number... I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my problem but it was very off that the setting said the serial number was invalid. I called the support line (the only one I could find was the premium line, what happened to the old one???) and they wont do anything unless I sign up for their monthly package or pay $130 (plus tax I'm sure) to let them remote control my laptop. I've had bad experienced with this and so I'm not going to allow them to do this. Is there any way to download a driver or something that would fix this problem? I have full access to my computer (besides what lenovo has blocked me out of automatically) so let me know if there is something I could look at and show you for more information. I've tried to search for this topic and couldn't find anything related to this. Thanks for the help.Kass.

Hello, I just bought this laptop and updated it. Came with a pen and everything, was excited.Touchscreen did not work what so ever. Nor does the pen. Called tech support and they said I had no software warranty and gave me a pitch on why I should buy it. Regardless, did not help. HID compliant touch screen driver is nonexistant, and I'm assuming that's because of the Windows 10 Update, but I can't be sure. Can someone help?
