I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Our Windows Live Mail accounts receive blank messages when someone sends a calendar appointment request from an Outlook account. The same message arrives correctly in a gmail account or in my Outlook account at work. Is this a Live Mail Configuration issue?

Hey All,

I am working on a server and recently two of their mail accounts have began not sending out email. When I first looked into the outbound box, the mail I sent out is still pending. It usually takes anywhere from 1 minute to several hours to for it (Argosoft Outbox) to be delivered. Also, when I send out a email to that particular a particular address, it will just sit there.

I have also done scans with AVG 8.0 and found that it had I-Worm/Bagz.D infection. I quickly quarantined that infection as to not allow to infect other files on the pc / server. I have also done a Hijack This Scan, please can someone look at this and tell some about what I am making out.

Hi Everybody!
I was wondering if I could get some help... I have had Outlook Express for a while, and whenever I end up doing a system recovery or something, my outgoing server either STOPS working, or STARTS working, even though I really change nothing. I have one e-mail address I use, it is under verizon.net. My servers are:

outgoing.verizon.net (i've also tried the other smpt.outgoing.verizon.net (if that's correct)).

Nothing has worked. I can receive e-mails, but whenever I want to send an e-mail, I have to go straight to the verizon.net website, and copy & paste the subject, the e-mail address, and the e-mail itself. Can anybody help? I am really lost, I've looked every where for a solution! I just want some ease in sending my e-mails & receiving them ALL with Outlook Express.

I use DSL (with verizon).

Thanks in advance!

Please need to solve, at this time, the following, and believe I need the server settings and other info. I am a dunce with Windows 7, and it never did play well with Comcast...just that with XP I could fumble it into place myself. Now, the Comcast techs are lost, or just do not want to help me reconfigure it into Windows Live Mail (as the whole problem was created by their instructions on how to set up pay on line! I am desperate to resolve this issue, as I have been getting this 0x800ccc0e error from Outlook on my laptop, regarding failure to connect to my virtual server (apache tomcat running windows server 2008)

I tried to connect to my email via Webmail on Plesk, and received a failed login. The same for all accounts.

The problem arose when just minutes after sending through an email okay, I tried a follow up email to the same person and received this 0x800ccc0e error message.

I check on the server and noted that Mailenable Professional was not running IMAP properly, as I have exceed my trial period, so I spoke to them and installed Mailenable Enterprise on over the top to keep the trial running.

It kept the same settings, and IMAP and all the other services on the same accounts worked.

Having gone back to Outlook on my laptop, and tried to send. I got the same error.

Since then, I have disabled all anti-virus (KASPERSKY PURE / SPY WARE DOCTOR / MALWARE) on my laptop and server (SYMANTEC END POINT), disabling the firewalls to no avail.

I tried setting up an account with POP as opposed to IMAP, and test fails in Outlook. I have also verified the account details to be the same, as had worked previously for a long time.

I've tinkered with some port changes via other forums, and its not worked either. Plus did a run of registry cleaners on both systems, as well as resetting machines etc.

My colleague has just informed me, that when he went into his emai... Read more

A:Server (WINDOWS 2008) Mail Issue (MAIL ENABLE)

This has now been resolved, by the kind folk at mailenable.

Here are details of the fix, from the email they sent me:-
Ok we have logged into the server and performed a telnet test locally on the
server to see if we were able to connect to the MailEnable POP, IMAP and
SMTP services which were unsuccessful. We could see that you are running
Symantec Endpoint protection which is includes a firewall option. We added
the MailEnable IMAP service to the firewall rules which allowed us to
successfully connect the IMAP service. You can now use the Horde webmail
interface and log in using the IMAP protocol.

We then tried adding the SMTP service to the Symantec Endpoint Protection
firewall rules, however this did not make any difference. So we then
accessed the MailEnable SMTP properties and enabled the alternate port for
the SMTP service to listen on (587). We were then able to telnet to the SMTP
service on port 587 which indicates that there is some other
application/firewall that is blocking access on port 25. I noticed that the
Windows firewall was also running so we added a rule to the firewall for the
SMTP service and can now successfully connect to the service and send using
the Horde webmail interface. I'm quite certain that your Outlook errors
should be addressed so give it go and see if you can send/receive from the
Outlook client.

Cheers, and I hope this helps anyone who has a similar situation.

Best regards

I'm a network admin, but I don't know much about how the mail system works. Currently we have an 2 NT DNS servers with a horrible freeware program that takes mail in from the outside and forwards it to our Notes server.

What I am want to know is what is the program that others use to do this? Does windows 2000 server or advanced server have some built in function that does this? I realize Microsoft's mail program is Exchange but we use Notes. So since we use Notes does this require a 3rd party app to forward the mail messages?

We have a 4 servers (mail, main, drugs and scans) to run a website called The Center For Drug Safety.com and for some reason the mail server sees the main server but not the other way around. The mail server can go to the main server to retrieve mail but the main server can not send mail to the mail server. We run Windows 2000 Server and the main server just keeps crashing with no error message, but if you look for the mail server through the main server it will see it, it just doesn't make any sense to me...PLEASE HELP!!!!

A:main server not communicating w/ mail server

If it is crashing there is more going on there than just a connectivity issue...sounds like a hardware or NIC problem. Patch the server to the latest service pack and try again. If you have added any new hardware or software recently it is imperative to upadate the service pack after such an upgrade. Are both of these servers on the same network and subnet? You might need to add a static route between the two if they are on different networks. Can they ping one another? Do you have Active Directory configured correctly?

I am currently using windows xp, and dsl. I just downloaded incredimail to write emails and recieve them. I am not able to recieve emails but can send them. When someone writes back it goes to my verizon account as that is what the server information is on incridimail.

I normally use netscape for my email address and would like my recieving emails to come back at incredimail however, when I try and configure netscapes server info I don't know what it is or how to obtain it without paying for there tech help.

Is there another way to get netscapes server info? I have dsl thru verizon and they just got me registered so now whenever I send emails from the incredimail account, anyone answering these go directly to the verizon email account and ZI want them to come in thru incredimail. I have searched everywhere on both sites and still cannot configure this mess.

Thanks for any help

I have two old HP5 (parallel port only) printers that are just wonderful. They are the absolute cheapest to operate at less six-tents of a penny a page and more dependability could never be expected from any device. I've been looking at print servers, the internal one made especially for my printers and other external ones made to work with any parallel port printer.

My last experience with generic (those not made for a specific printer) print servers was that they would run out of memory and quit a print job at the point the buffer was full. For that reason, I sort of considered them second rate parts and never used them again. That was about 7 years ago.

Occasionally, I will send 200- to 500-page print jobs to the printer and it prints it just fine, start to finish without a hitch. If the print servers still suffer from this buffer problem, I don't want to waste my time finding out the hard way.

Question: Do today's generic print servers from reputable companies like Linksys, Netgear, etc. still suffer from these buffer problems, or have they solved that?

just incase anyone was having trouble with the updater.....this is why.
Server has moved.
At about 8 p.m. (GMT+2) yesterday, the main server (security.kolla.de) was no longer reachable, displaying a 404 error. The integrated update function wasn't working either.

The reason for this was that my webspace provider moved the pages to a new server, most probably because of over a million page hits yesterday. This (unannounced) move was finished at midnight according to their information, but until the page is available again there may be a delay of up to 24 hours.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused (I was as surprised as everybody else). Still waiting for an explanation from them why they did this without speaking with me first, and without keeping the old pages online until all DNS have the new IP.

P.S.: because security.kolla.de was not available, many visitors tried security.kolla.com instead. Due to the high amount of Spybot-S&D visitors, the owner of kolla.com was kind enough to forward the kolla.com addresses to this site temporarily. But if you want to bookmark this page, please open http://security.kolla.de/ and bookmark the correct page.

I will attempt to be as clear and concise as possible. The situation is that a company is being purchased by another company. Company A is being asked for information by company. Company B wants all of the information required to remotely access company A's servers as soon as the transaction is completed. The problem is company A no longer has IT support or even anyone onsite who is capable of providing this information. Company B has specifically requested a domain password. I have been given this responsibility because I am the closest thing they have to support. I have established remote access between personal computers in the past. But never a company server. How can I direct those onsite through the process of accessing the required information from their servers and then possibly setting up a vpn or remote test to make sure it works? Is a domain password all that company B will require to remotely access servers and network of company A?

I am trying to set up a DHCP server, I need to know what other services are required along with DHCP example: WINS, DNS, ,etc.. Also what protocols to install besides TCP/IP. I tried NetBEUI and was able to log into the server with my laptop and a crossover cable, but when I use only TCP/IP it says there is no domain to verify my log in. But when I was able to log in the IP address was the same on every login, it was something like 169.???.???.???. Also when connecting a hub do I need to have some kind of serial connection from the hub to the server or just patch cables from the hub to the NIC cards. Thanks for the help.

(Message from Reuel: Just cleaning up the ALL CAPS off)
[This message has been edited by Reuel Miller (edited 08-21-2000).]

A:{Advice Offered} - DHCP server & Hub info

I see Reuel hasn't gotten to this yet, so I'll give it a shot...
With my DHCP Server (PDC), I've got it with WINS, pulling the info from another site. Put WINS on there so you can resolve the computer names from the IP's...That way the only protocol you need is TCP/IP. If you're not getting your WINS info from somewhere else, you'll need to set up your lmhosts file. Put those settings on your server, add the new computer to your domain, then log on. If you've still got that 169.xxx.xxx.xxx do an ipconfig /release, then /renew from the command prompt, and I suppose that should be that.
As far as the connecting with the hub, I believe you can just run the patch cables from the NICs to it, if there is a switch for "normal" on the hub, go to that, not "uplink". Then again, I could just be talking out of my arse here.
But I honestly think the best thing to do is to try whatever Reuel has to offer...He's the man, in case you didn't know.

I work in an office where Outlook reigns supreme.
My manager has been overseeing multiple accounts via Outlook and it's not going well.  He constantly is replying using the wrong email account and causing quite a bit of confusion.  He NEEDS separate email clients to limit his own confusion.  So I figured he'd be better off have multiple email clients... Outlook having his personal main account, Thunderbird (or similar) with the other email account(s).
Here's my issue, the company uses an in-house server for email.  I'm attempting to set up Thunderbird and it's asking for an Incoming  IMAP (or POP3) and Outgoing SMTP.  I'm not exactly sure of this and so far my guesses have been gone.  Just curious if someone knows where to get this info from through Outlook.
I've browsed Google, but every result is for an Internet Settings, not a Server Settings.
OS: Win 7 Professional 64bit
Program: Outlook 2010
Let me know if more info is needed.

A:Obtaining Outlook 2010 Server Info

Since you are using an in-house email server, you will need to get that information from the IT department or whoever manages the in-house mail server.

The boards are split in two (three if you count the small one that connects the two larger boards together as well as containing connections for the IDE cables and SCSI cables and power.)

The top board which has PCI, battery etc.. has a small white sticker with a bar code then some numbers and characters.

My first and last experience with a print server was with a small, cheap one that would not handle jobs over about 30 pages. If you gave it a 200-page job, well, it would just quit after about 30 or so pages.

I have an HP5 printer in my office connected to an always-on computer. Well, occasionally, I would like to turn that computer off or maybe go into DOS mode to play around with things there. That makes the printer unavailable to the rest of the network. I would like to use a print server; but, I don't want to run into that print server's memory barrier when I want to print a 400-page document.

I admit that beyond the knowledge of a print server's intended basic function, I know almost nothing about them.

Any suggestions or knowledge anyone cares to impart would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

If you have the Windows Address Book of Outlook Express then those addresses can easily be copied in Windows Live Mail. I don't think that anything else can be copied.

For copying WAB, highlight Contacts towards the bottom of the left Panel. Then on the ribbon click on Import and on the drop down list choose Windows Address Book. Browse to the Address Book and import.

That is all.

Hi everybody:

I recently switched for Windows 7 to Windows 10 and when I opened WIndows Live Mail I saw it was empty. I found that the messages where in the next folder:
C:\Users\Myuser\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
I did a copy of that folder (and the rest of the Windows Live folders), I renamed the folders and tried to reopen WLM to see if the folders wher recreated. They weren't recreated.

So I unistalled WLM. I wanted to install it again and find the new folders to replace the with the original ones. But Windows Live Essentials is not supported for WIndows 10 (apparently it works if you come from WIndows 10, but you can't install it again).

So now I have all the copies of the WL folders, but I don't know how to reover that info. Any idea?

A:Recover Windows live mail info

I do not have an answer for you.

However, I would like to clarify that one can reinstall WLM onto a Windows 10 anytime one wants.
I did that several times when I had to do a Clean Install of Windows 10. Reinstalling WLM was never an issue.

It is now simply called Windows Essentials. MS has long since ditched the word " Live".

But when I go to add the printer, the computer can't "see" the print server. In the Printer Wizard, I've tried browsing for the print server/printer, and I've tried entering the URL. I've also tried creating a standard TCP/IP port. All to no avail. I'm not a networking expert, and I think there must be some small key point that I'm missing. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

A:Need basic info on setting up a Lexmark print server on XP Pro

Go to Lexmark and get the drivers etc. first:

When I installed my printserver (Netgear PS110), I had to first install the PS-driver on each PC. Then (re)install the printer drivers as a LOCAL machine, not-shared, and when it comes to selecting the printer-port, you select the network-port that has been installed by the PS-driver.

I assume that Lexmark won't be that different.

I have Outlook running minimized most of my day. Is there a way to have Outlook 2000 to display more information in the "New Message Notification" box that comes on-screen when a new email arrives? I'd like the sender and subject line to show, so I can choose to either hit "Yes" and open the message or hit "No" and check it later without ever having to switch to Outlook.

I'm hoping there is a plug-in or utility that would alter the existing notification box with sender and subject information. I've seen programs that make a system tray pop-up with that info, but that's not really what I want.

Any ideas??

My yahoo mail user name and password doesn't work in IE OR Firefox. It only works if I do crtl+shift+delete and clear saved information. Is there any way I can log in without having to do this first?

What confuses me is that this problem also occurs in Firefox :(

what could this be?

A:Yahoo mail log on info doesn't work in IE or Firefox? How do i fix it?

What do you mean "it doesn't work"? Are you entering it and Yahoo reports that the information is incorrect? And what exactly are you clearing? Form data/passwords?

Hi everyone,
Very basic question. My family's laptop is most likely infected with a trojan/virus of sorts, and the e-mails on it have been hacked (and I would assume the bank accounts too.)
I'm in the process of re-securing these accounts, and I was wondering if it would be secure to access e-mail through an iPad (on the same LAN network as the hacked laptop.)

You should be ok to do this. Would you like help making the laptop clean?

Am using Windows 7 with 64 bits and I am trying to import information from an Excel7 spreadsheet into Printshop 23.1 mail merge. Have addressed several issues: Win 32 extension installed, turned Excel7 info into .txt format, have successfully merged the two.

What I am experiencing is ALL of the information (only 4 text columns) with 175 lines will not merge into workable file. I am told by the UltraMail Merge program that I can match column headings but when I do, the information is either in the wrong order OR missing certain fields altogether. I know this is an older version of Printshop (purchased in December of 2011) but I do not want to lose all my projects if I purchase a newer version. Any ideas on how to make this one work?

If not, do I need to uninstall my older version before installing new? OR, can I install the new and the old will merge?

Thanks for your time.

A very nasty program on site hxxp://translateclient.com claimed to be Google Translator, I downloaded from filefactory, which I thought scanned their files. It has invaded my computer changed my homepage, default search the whole 9.

“Client for Google Translate” referred to a toolbar (VisualBee) also installed (even though I denied it) and changed all my settings, numerous programs keep popping up. I want to make sure no trackers and malware were leftover and restore it to how it was a few days ago but keep the updates I’ve made to documents etc.

Running XP SP2, Outlook Express 6, Norton Anti-Virus 2005...

Client of mine can ping email server, and browse (there is a web interface for web mail) same server via IE, but OE claims it cannot find server.

Deleted cookies, emptied cache, rebooted, disabled firewall & anti-virus, dang OE keeps claiming the server isn't out there despite the evidence otherwise.

Any other ideas?

A:Why would IE say "can't find server" if you can ping, browse the mail server?

IE. Tools->Internet Options->Security Tab. Restricted sites?
Hosts file?

Hello helpful people,

I'm trying to migrate my Outlook Express email messages from my old XP laptop which suffered a motherboard death last week. I've got the hard drive connected via external enclosure to my Vista Ultimate 64-bit desktop. I didn't have any trouble getting Windows Mail to locate the .dbx files and import the appropriate folders, but when I add the "Account" column to the message view, there is no data in there. I've got 8 accounts funneling email into this program, so it's rather critical that I have the information readily available in the window.

I read somewhere that anti-virus software might be removing the data, so I tried the import with my anti-virus and Windows Defender both disabled and still no luck. Thinking it made a difference once before when upgrading my hard drive, I tried doing the import with all the account information set up under "Tools" --> "Accounts..." and then again without any set up at all. Same result both ways.

Anyone have any ideas how to get the import to include the Account column information? Much appreciated. Thank you!

I was wondering if someone could shed some light on to this problem I am having with a web mail server. It is actually a mail server. Workgroupmail Enterprise. It has web mail capabilities but for some reason the log in page will not display when I try and go to the sign in page. So I downloaded a 3rd party web mail server that interacts with the mail server. It is IceWarp Web Mail Server. I am able to get to a sign in page and I am able to sign in and retreive email via a web browser, but I can only do this from behind my router. I have to enter http://localhost:4096 and the sign in page comes right up. I cannot figure out what I need to do and what URL I would use from a web browser outside of my router. Locahost will not work because it is referenced to my non-routable IP. I tried using my Wan IP and I get page can not be displayed I have opened the necessary ports in my router and as far as I know they are the correct ports. 80 being the port I opened. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how I would access my email from outside my router. If more info is needed please feel free to email me at [email protected] And yes by the way this is all being used with an ISP. The mail server itself works, and like I said I can access my email via webmail if I am behind my router.

I have prematurley cancelled my web hosting with a specific template co. they handeld my e-mail account. how can re-direct or change mail settings so that I can continue to recieve and send mails from that address?

A:e-mail server

Hi, and welcome to TSG.

It depends on who owns the domain name (the part after the @ in the email address) used for the account.

If your old hosting company owns it, you may be out of luck. Your only hope might be to ask if they could forward incoming emails to a new address for you.

If you own the domain name, you would need to find a hosting company for that domain that at least provides the use of an email server. You could then change your domain name records to point to the new server.
