Preferred Solution: teredo tunneling pseudo

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi there,

I googled "Teredo Pseudo" and it looks like it has something to do with IPv6. May I ask, what is your computer issue?

Are you getting an error with the "Teredo Pseudo" included in the error? Is your computer a laptop or a desktop computer?

Hello, could someone help me / give me some indications, i notice in the device manager that uneder netword adaptater a device has is disabled and the message is This device is disabled. (Code 22) Click Enable Device to enable this device. If I enable it the message is This device cannot start. (Code 10) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. But the Check for solution does not provide any answers. I've read the tech documentation on MSoft web site, but that does not help me to understand what prevent this device to be started. The system is running under Vista Sp1, ultimate, with 3Go Ram and a 2.2mhz Centrino pro processor. Best regards

A:Teredo Tunneling Pseudo interface

Don't worry about it - that is used with IPv6, which is not widely used, yet, and it cannot start because your computer is not running IPv6 because (most likely) your router / modem does not support IPv6.

Hi jake21 The Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter is used to convert IPv4 communications to IPv6. It's normal for the device to show as not working (Code 10). You don't have to worry about it since you most likely don't use it. You can ignore that warning.

I am helping a friend that has Windows 7 clean his computer.  It is a Toshiba Satellite.  It has 4 gigs of ram and is 64bit.

The problem I am having is that it will not go on the net wirelessly.  He is not able to get on the internet wirelessly but can with an Ethernet cable.

I went on line and read to go to the Device Manager and then to Network.  Expanded it and it was suggested that I uninstall (not delete) the Teredo Tunelling Pseudo Interface.  I went into the device manager and found that the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo Interface is not working.   have done that and after restarting it no longer shows under Networking.

After restarting the Teredo is gone and the other Network adaptors appear to be working.  I am not able to get on the internet wirelessly.

I have looked all over the net and can't seem to find a way to correct this.

Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm sure everyone has head about it before, but I've seen as many solutions as there have been questions about it.

My TTPU seems to be malfunctioning. I'm getting a code 10 error... unable to load the driver. Trying to update it has failed, as it simply tells me I have the latest version. At the moment, it's disabled, but I have no idea what it does for me, so I'm worried about having problems leaving it that way. ...of course, since it wasn't working in the first place, maybe not.

How should I go about fixing this thing? If there is a solid, known way to fix it, can someone please post it here? One fix I tried before getting nervous was editing the registry, but the directions given didn't actually lead to where they were supposed to lead, and so I never changed anything.

If anyone knows a good way to fix the driver for this device (or at least to make the system load it properly) please post here. Thanks.

Im trying to install the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo Interface in the Device Manager. I have found a very temporary fix which is changing the value of the registry DisabledComponents under tcpip6 to 0, but once i change the value it takes around 5 to 10 minutes for the computer to go into a BSOD. Once i change the the registry value back to the default, there are no crashes whatsoever, but without Teredo no online features will work in Forza. Hi there!

Following poor internet advice to fix another problem, i uninstalled the Teredo Tunneling pseudo interface and I cannot install it back. I have looked to see if it is hidden and I have tried the copy-pasted directions to change the registry and still it is gone. My external will no longer connect in order to put any files from my working laptop onto the problematic one.

Hello, and thanks for letting me join. I have a laptop with Windows 8 installed, keep getting an error message in Device Manager saying there is an issue with Teredo Tunneling Pseudo Interface - Code 10 (I have no idea what this or the device is). When I use HP Support Assistant to try and download Bluetooth drivers as instructed, they are failing to install, as are the CyberPro drivers now. I don't know what is happening here - I am not a techie, I'm afraid! The laptop is still under warranty but although I have asked hp for help I have had no answers to my request on what to do.

Hi

We did a number of updates on our Dell 530 Inspiron desktop. The computer runs very well, although it will not stay asleep. After the updates, we noticed the Device Manager indicated that the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface had a Code(10). I followed all of the recommended reinstall driver recommendations, used Microsoft "Fix It," tried Device Manager/Action/Add Legacy Hardware to no avail. Now, under network adapters I now have the following: (1) Intel(R)82562V-2 10/100 (2) Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter #2 and #3. The machine runs perfectly except for sleeping as mentioned previously. It easily connects to the internet.

I would appreciate direction on (1) approach to solving this problem and/or (2) solution already listed that seems to fit this situation. Quite honestly, I don't feel like my skill level allows me to do much if any with the computer's registry unless it is very simple.

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this question.

For the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface either ignore it or right-click on it and see if you can disable or delete it.

For the waking up problem the first thing to check is possible devices waking it. For example, if the mouse is allowed to wake the machine it will sometimes do so as the result of the tiniest vibration.

A:Teredo Tunneling

Teredo is used to tunnel IPV6 over an IPV4 connection. Unless you're passing IPV6 over the internet the Teredo interface isn't used.

Are you using Homegroups? That's about the only service that requires IPV6 at the moment.

When I did an ipconfig, I noticed there were some weird bits of information called "Tunnel adapter isatap" and "Tunnel Adapter Teredo Tunneling Psuedo-Interface"

I hear that this is used for compatibility and has to do with NAT, or something. But I also hear it can have potential security risks. Should I disable this? What programs would use it for compatibility and would I lose internet capability with certain programs or games?

I also heard somewhere than you can type a CMD command to "refresh" or "reset" these. When I did that, I got the message that "an error occured while releasing" them, due to the files not being located. Not sure why?

Question.

I accidentally uninstalled my Teredo IPV6 Psuedo-tunneling interface. I figured it would re-install itself after a re-boot like many built in drivers do, but it did not. I have googled it trying to find a suitable download source, but no luck. Is there any way to re-install, or find a source to download a replacement driver, maybe a link.

A:Teredo IPV6 Pseudo-tunnelling interface.

Are you using IPv6 to connect? If your not sure then your probably not. IPv6 really isn't used yet so its not a big deal. It causes more headaches then its worth.

But if you really want to re-install it go ahead. This thread states typing this into the command prompt then rebooting the machine: ipv6 install

Then after it is installed just disable it, don't un-install it.

Teredo tunneling is a method of tunneling IPV6 traffic over an IPV4 network.

There are issues with it so it is best to make your network 100% IPV6 or 100% IPV4. Most home users are stuck with IPV4 because that's all their routers and switches can handle. If you are not experiencing any problems with your network, you can ignore it.

If you have an inquiring mind and want to become a scholar on the issue, read the information at the following link;

A:What is MS teredo tunneling adapter

My understanding is it has to do with an internet connection. How do you connect to the internet? If you are on dialup there won't be a problem. Even if you are on high speed or wireless it's not a problem if it's working. You can leave it alone or you can go to Device Manager and uninstall it. Not too sure if this is the place to post this but I just noticed recently that the Teredo tunneling adapter keeps turning itself on. It never turned on before prior to this so I'm not too sure why it's activated itself now. It happened after I used a VPN but I've used it before and it never activated itself.
I keep disabling it in devices manager but as soon as I reboot the computer, it re-installs itself. It says on the events for the adapter that nettun.inf reinstalls it every time it reboots. I had to run a command prompt as administrator to (hopefully) permanently disable it.
Is this just a windows bug or has my system been compromised by something?

Is this just a windows bug or has my system been compromised by something?

A:Teredo tunneling keeps enabling

Teredo tunneling is a transition technology that gives full IPv6 connectivity for IPv6-capable hosts which are on the IPv4 Internet but which have no direct native connection to an IPv6 network.

what do you do when you accidently uninstall this driver from your network adapter, in device manager, that was not working anyway, there are several posts saying to disable it, but I totally uninstalled it, will this affect anything else in my system, like slow my connection speed, that sort of thing, im using a dell latitude 5400 laptop with windows 7 home premium

There will be no ill effect. If you were having some kind of networking problem your action could possibly have improved the situation.

Ok I have searched and found some info on this but want to be clear. I have a message saying there is a problem with "
Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface??" Now I don't have a network, only one computer in the house. From what I have been able to understand only people with networks need this item. I have been having problems getting disconnected from the internet after waking from sleep mode and others seem to have an issue with is "tunneling" thing. I have disabled it in hopes of resolving the problem. My question really is do I need this "Tunneling" thing for any other purpose? If not I will uninstall it.

Thanks

A:Teredo Tunneling issue

The 'Teredo' tunnelling thing is the newest ip networking/internet-networking thing ( IPv6 ). You don't need it, as most of the internet is still IPv4.

Hi

My printer stopped working after 6 months problem free. I tested system and found teredo tunnel pseudo interface not working in device manager. The printer troubleshooter showed nothing.

I used the steps under other answers to solving teredo problem which involved unloading the driver, setting the teredo client and rechecking device manager showed no error . The interface does not show up now but it looks like this is not a problem as it is a transitional technology and if printing works no-one is usually bothered.

However my printer still does not work, I cannot get a test page to print.

Windows trouble shooters show no problem with network or printer. Printer is connected using USB lead - as has worked allright for 6 months. I am therefore baffled as what to do next. I am thinking to uninstall and reinstate printer driver but am not sure if that will help.

I would be grateful for help as I'm not technical and need to get things working urgently.

I ran a hardware diagnostics on my pc and got this message "A driver problem was detected on device "Teredo Tunneling Psuedo-Interface"
I was given the options to restore original driver or reinstall. I have no idea what this is or what to do. I do know that my system is running very slow these days and alot of my videos will play audio in windows media player but the picture will not show up. I am lost and have no idea what to do. Please help..... Lost and confused

A:Teredo Tunneling Psuedo-Interface???

Teredo Tunneling Psuedo-Interface is used for Homegroup and TCP/IP v6 which is part of Windows. Which is normal in Windows Vista through Windows 8.

Which format are the videos in? Windows Media Player does not support all video formats only the common ones. Windows Media Player might support the audio portion of the video because the audio side would be a different format like mp3. To find out the format of the video right click on each on then select properties then select "Details" scroll down look for "File" the name of the video format will be listed after the file name E.X. Filename.mp4

Download and install VLC Player which supports many video formats more than Windows Media Player.

Sony Vaio VGN-NW240F
Win 7

My "teredo tunneling pseudo-interface" stopped working on my new Sony Vaio (indicated by the yellow exclamation on the device in the device manager). I called Sony tech support and they had me remove the device saying that I did not need it on my computer and that my model does not have that network device.

Is this true?

Welcome to Seven Forums!

Teredo Tunneling pseudo interface is used for IPV6 support. If you're not using Homegroups it's not needed.
