Meeting Requests going to all users

Q: Meeting Requests going to all users

I have a small network (12 users) running SBS 4.5. Clients are Win2K Pro and Office2K Pro. When a users creates a new meeting request and invites some (but not all) users, the meeting request is received by ALL users.

I suspect that it is something to do with delegation, but am unsure where to start looking.

Any guidance would be welcome. Thanks

Preferred Solution: Meeting Requests going to all users

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I found this under the help in Outlook 2002

Troubleshoot Delegate Access
This feature requires Microsoft Exchange.
Viewing another person's folders
I can't see an appointment in another person's Calendar when I'm the delegate.

When you view days in the Calendar folder, you can't see the details of an appointment, but the free/busy time shows that the time is busy. This is because, even though you have delegate access permission to the other person's Calendar folder, if the other person created an appointment and marked it private, you cannot view the appointment unless they have given you permission to do so. Have the person who granted you permission clear the Private check box on the Appointment tab in the appointment, or have the person modify your permissions so that the Delegate can see my private items check box is selected.

I receive meeting requests and responses that my delegate should get.

The person you set up as your delegate might have been deleted from the Microsoft Exchange Global Address List, or there might have been an internal rule-handling failure on the server. To reset your delegate's permissions, click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Delegates tab.

The Send meeting requests and responses only to my delegates, not to me check box might not be selected. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Delegates tab.

I'm a delegate, but I can't open the other person's folders.

You may not be connected to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer. Verify that you are connected to the server.

You may not have sufficient permissions. Ask the person who granted you delegate access to perform the following steps to verify the permissions granted to you: On the Tools menu, point to Options, and then click the Delegates tab. Click the delegate's name in the Delegates box, and then click Permissions.
I get appointment conflicts.

If you set up your Calendar folder for delegate access or you are a delegate, open a Calendar from the network instead of from your computer to eliminate the chance of appointment conflicts.

At our site we have several conference rooms which have their own shared calendars in Outlook. Whenever someone wants to schedule the conference room, they usually submit a meeting request and add the conference room to check availability in Scheduling. The problem is, they want to be able to see past one month. For example, if I look at the room's availability today, I can only see up to February 28 of this year. March 1 and beyond appears as "\\\" or 'no information.' Is this a limitation of Outlook 2003 and is there any way around it (do schedulers need delegate rights to see past a month)?

Any help would be appreciated.

One of my users are having issues with the meeting requests in outlook. If A sends a meeting request to B, and B accepts the request, the confirmation email gets sent to both A and C. C was never on the request at all. I also sent a test request to my email account so when I accepted it, the confirmation still was somehow forwarded to C.

Has anyone ever ran into this issue before or know the solution?

User A has Outlook 2007 in an Exchange 2003 SP2 environment. When User B sends a meeting request to User A, User A gets duplicate (2) meeting requests. User A is not a delegate of User B but does have full mailbox access.

Even when Administrator sends a meeting request to User A, a duplicate meeting request appears in the inbox. If User A sends a meeting request to User B, User B does not receive duplicates.

Again, no delegates here. No matter what I try, it still happens. Rebooted the Exchange server, restarted the domain controller, User A's machine, no difference. It even happens in OWA.

I can't seem to figure this one out. I have verified User A does not have a mobile device. Just straight up Outlook 2007 (and sometimes User A uses OWA when out of the office).

Anyone know of what could be causing this?

A:User Receiving Duplicate Meeting Requests

This fixed it!http://support.microsoft.com/kb/253557I had to log onto the user's workstation. I ran the MDBVu32 utility to remove a "schedule +" component. Somehow, along the way, the user was a delegate of themselves. I noticed it after following this article:http://hellomate.typepad.com/exchange/2004...ng_which_e.htmlI removed the "send on behalf" permissions in Active Directory but the issue still was experienced. The above KB article fixed it!

Hi there,
Seems my Outlook 2007 no longer automatically places a meeting request as Tentative on my calendar until I actually go into email inbox and open it. I prefer that if I'm away from email, new Invitations automatically display on my calendar as Tentative. Was like this before as I recall.
Any recommendations!??

User's Outlook delivery is set as "Mailbox -- JoeDoakes". He accepts meeting invitation but meeting appears on his "Private Folders" calendar!

User has switched his default mail delivery back and forth several times between Mailbox and Private Folders -- and that appears to be the origin of the problem. Microsoft KB article Q279431 acknowledges that this generally leads to the improper re-setting of the delivery locations of the special folders (Sent Items, Tasks, Calendar, etc) within the mailbox. Thus, even tho the Mailbox's delivery is set at "Mailbox", the special folders' location remains set at "Private Folder".

According to MS, the resolution is to "reset the *.pst file so that it is not the default delivery point". Any ideas about how to do this would be appreciated.

Hi All,

I was recently given a cheap (free!) web cam and asked to try it out to see if it worked. Loaded the software and in the instruction book it asked me to set up MSN Net Meeting by typing conf in the run box, which I did.

However, now I can't connect to the internet and I've had no problems in the past twelve months or so.

It seems too much of a coincidence to be not related to web cam / Net Meeting. I've uninstalled the webcam (using the uninstall program provided with it) but still can't get onto the internet. Tried to uninstall Net Meeting but can't get rid. If I try to delete it comes up with the ďCanít delete as in use by another user / applicationĒ. Itís not in the install / uninstall windows program. Also the search function in Windows isn't working. Booted into Safe Mode and managed to delete Net Meeting but when I go back to normal operating system Net Meeting folder still there (in program files). The actual folder is now empty but still canít delete it, comes up with the Canít delete etc message.

I'm running Windows XP.

If all else fails I could try the Hijackthis program which I used once before when I managed to pick up a nasty virus on my PC. Not sure if this is a virus though as how would it get on there by just installing Netmeeting and the web cam.

Iíve also ran Spyware (program) and AVG free and they picked up a couple of pieces of Spyware but still no luck.

I have a user that cannot receive calls from Net meeting, however, she is able to place calls. Ive checked her security settings and made sure that Automatically accept calls was not checked(tried it the other way as well).

THe user is on a LAN with W2k client. THis is not a Proxy or Firewall issue.

Also, how do i uninstall Net Meeting? It is not listed in Add/Remove.
Where can i get a w2k copy of Netmeeting. Cnet and Microsoft.com has one for every OS except w2k.

A:Net meeting problems

I'm unsure about the first issue but W2k should come with Netmeeting as standard, it may need installing manually.
Also, on 98 etc Netmeeting is a windows feature so cannot be uninstalled in the normal way, I assume 2K is the same. Try disk cleanup for the removal of such things. Personally, for the problems it causes I'd try a freeware chat client instead.

Hi one and all

I am a comparative newbie. I am having problems when video conferencing with Net Meeting
My system is
Pentium 3 1.4 Gigaherz
Creative Emu 10KxAudio[B800} - audio
Net Meeting ver3.01 (4.4.3400)
256 RAM
Windows XP Pro
Microphone & Camera - Logitech Web cam
Cable modem

The problem is very poor sound both received and transmitted
When sending I practically have to speak one word at a time (I know every one does this) What I mean is that I need to speak and then listen ie hello - wait - how - wait - are - wait - you - etc. Clearly something is wrong, what I want to know is , is it me or the person I am talking to in this case Pentium 4/Windows 2000/56kb modem. I suspect the problem is with the 56kb modem. Any of you knowledgeable people out there have any thoughts

A:Net Meeting bad sound

first decide if it's your computer. Take a video recording with audio, and see how clear the audio is? If it's clear, then I would chalk it up to the 56k modem.

Modems don't really have the speed to re-convert the analog signal so that the computer can understand and translate it. Video and audio together take up a huge bandwidth. Have the other person drop the modem and get on cable, or don't send him/her video, rather only send audio

I am trying to set up Net Meeting and I'm having some trouble having it recognize my video source. I am using a digital camcorder (Sony DRC-TRV27) that is hooked up to my computer (PIII 750mhz, 256 RAM) by way of Firewire. Pinnacle Studio 8 recognizes the camera and I can capture video in Pinnacle (so I know it's working), but Net Meeting doesn't even allow me to select a video capture device. It is grayed out under the Video tab in Options.

Is the camcorder overkill? In other words, do I just need to purchase and use an inexpensive web camera? It seems to me that any video capture device should work, but I'm no expert on this. Or, is it the firewire card? Or, is there some way to have Windows 98SE (my OS) recognize the camera, so that Net Meeting will know it's there?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A:Microsoft Net Meeting

I solved my problem! It occured to me that I have a USB connection on the camcorder that can be used for video streaming. So, I connected the Camcorder via USB and voila!, the Windows installation wizard began loading the drivers for it and Net Meeting then recognized it and I was able to see the video through Net Meeting. Now, I just need to see if can do some videoconferencing with it. Thanks.

I am a rather new member here, so I?m not sure if you older geeks, mods and admins think I shouldn?t be the one to make this suggestion, but here it is:

We were talking this upcoming October 22nd with a couple of guys, having a few beers and thinking we should celebrate it when Win7 hits the shops. We normally do not need a reason to party but wifes stay happier when we at least have a good reason.

So, would you be interested to have a Windows 7 publishing / SevenForums meeting in October? Thursday 22nd everybody wants to stay home admiring The New Fabulous Windows 7 Retail Box, but Saturday 24th could be a good day.

I have quite a lot of experience in organizing different meetings and seminars and I know there?s still enough time to organize this. If you say yes and let me organize it, the place would be D?sseldorf or close to it in Germany. International airport with connections everywhere, excellent railroad and autobahn (motorway, highway) connections, centrally located in Europe. From UK fast ferries to Holland and hour and a half driving, less than an hour from Belgium and Dutch borders.

If we do this here in Europe, hopefully Aussies, Yankees and Asians could have similar parties about the same time.

I keep a second home / office near D?sseldorf, doing about third of my work there, and because of my work I have good contacts to find a nice place for meeting. I can also get very good prices from couple of local hotels and hostels. I?m quite sure I could also find... Read more

I could use a little help with this. Iíve created this word template to keep record of meetings. Now Iíve been asked to turn this into a db. Since Iím really not an expert in Access, Iím trying to figure this out. Iíve sorted the fields as you can see in the example, and Iíve also figured the attendants to the meeting must be a yes/no field.

Ok, so Iíve created a table Employees with:

Employee_Code (autonumber Ė primary key)
Employee_Name - text

Meeting table with:

Meeting Id (autonumber Ė primary key)
Employee_Code Ė number (donít know if itís necessary for relations)
Date Ė date/time
Time Ė date/time
Place Ė text
Department Ė text
Subject Ė text
Explanations Ė memo
Considerations Ė memo
Decisions Ė memo

Now, my problem is with the attendance. How can I create the relation between the meeting and the employees? And the checkbox on the template? How can I translate that to the yes/no box? Is another table the solution?

And how can I export the created meetings back to a word document based on that template?

Thank you very much.

PS: Sorry if this sounds confusing, but Iím really lost in here.

Hello. I'm having trouble with this small db I've started to maintain records of meetings. I have 3 tables (Participants, Meeting and a table with Participants Id and Meeting ID to join the previous 2. I've been told to do so by fellow board members.

However I'm having difficulty that the participants have their presence registered on any meeting using checkboxes on the form that I built and also I have 2 queries (meeting by date and meeting by subject) that return blank.

I'll mail the db so someone can take a look at it and help me find out what is happening. I've translated the tables and its contents to English. so I think that by doing so, the relations were deleted. But maybe it's better, so that anyone that looks at it won't be influenced by my mistakes. The db is very small, only 120Kb zipped. if anyone can help me, leave me a note at [email protected].

Thank you very much.

I have been using netmeeting for a few years with only the normal reliability. Recently, the computer that I call to swtiched from a T1 line to a DSL. When this change took place, the other party hooked up a linksys router. I also use a linksys router.

I call from a from a windows xp pro platform and call a windows 2000 platform. Since the other party hooked up the router, we are unable to connect. After reading a microsoft support document, I did the following forwarding:

Pass through primary TCP connections on ports 522, 389, 1503, 1720 and 1731.
Pass through secondary UDP connections on dynamically assigned ports (1024-65535).

I assume the other party needs to do this as well, or am i missing something?

A:Net Meeting problems

we fixed the problem by forwarding the proper pots on the linksys router. The biggest hold up was find the the right ip address for the machines we wanted to have the ports open.

We found them using start>run>cmd>ipconfig

we then accessed the router usinf address, hitting advanced> forwarding the forwarding the following :

tcp: 522,389,1720,1731
udp: 1024-65565
One question, as that seems like a great deal of ports have been opened, does the fact that I have zone alarm running protect me from hackers?

Dell built me a PC. I told them I needed a final resolution of 2560x1600 out of an HP LP3065c monitor with DVI ports. Hey everybody

I'm not sure what forum to put this in, since it has multiple forums it could go in.

Here at the office, we want to start webcasting out meetings that we will hold weekly. What we have right now, is a $20 webcam from Wal-Mart. It was basically purchased as a test cam to see what it would look like.

First off, what kind of web cam would we need, so that we could have high quality images (or as high quality as possible) over the Internet?

Second, how do we go about getting the audio to go over the Internet, where it will line up with the video? As in, what programs would we use, etc?

Third, is it possible to integrate this into a webpage, to where users can just just click on a link within the site, and it bring up a page, with a media player embedded into the page, showing the meeting as it is going on, with audio coming through?

That's the main questions I have for now. Like I say, I'm not sure this is in the right forum. I figured I would put it here, since it deals with the multimedia aspect of video and audio, but it also could go in web development or hardward as well.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I discovered that I have Net Meeting on XP. I have installed it, but do not know how to use it to video conference. Any suggestions? What is the relationship between Net Meeting and MSN Messeger? I receive a Message that MSN Messenger has supplanted the Directory for contacts. Do I need to download and install MSN Messenger? How does Windows Messenger fit in? XP comes with Windows Messenger; is Windows Messenger alone with Net Meeting all that is needed to contact someone (NET Passport) or are all three: Net Meeting, MSN Messenger and Windows Meesenger neccessary? Thanks, Mike.

A:Net Meeting, Windows and MSN Messanger

u need to have an email account(hotmail or msn) to use messenger and netmeeting .
both programms are used for messaging
messenger : text and audio if u have a mic installed
netmeting: text,audio video (need mic+webcam)
to start using these programs just read the help infos that comes with the programs or use google to get more info ,or just go microsoft website .

I've got a user that is trying to use the meeting scheduler in the calendar section of outlook.

Basically she wants to know the availability of other users based on their calendars on their workstations.

My guess is that this doesn't work because we are using pop/smtp email services, rather than running and exchange server.

Am I correct?

How do I set up Net Meeting on Windows 2000.
I have windows XP and I have set up my Net Meeting through User Account.
I am trying to talk my friend through setting up Net Meeting on Windows 2000 but she says she cannot do anything in Users and Passwords.

A:Setting up net meeting on 2000

netmeeting is on windows by default

all she needs to do is to goto the programs directory and look for netmeeting
in the directory will be a program call conf.exe

double click on that and it will run, first time it will go to setup and ask for some details etc

Got two users. Both using Outlook 2007. UserA outlook is set-up using exchange settings. UserB is set-up using POP3.

When UserA sends meeting invites, userB can receive it.
When UserA sends recurring meeting, userB can receive it.

When UserA updates recurring meeting, userB will not receive it. When checked on OWA, meeting invite is there but when opening message "HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error".

I understand that 1 solution is to reconfigure UserB outlook to use Exchange settings. But there are reasons why the configuration is on POP3.

Does any one knows what's causing recurring meeting updates sent on Outlook 2007 (using exchange settings) is not being received by Outlook 2007 (using Pop3 setting)

A:Recurring Meeting issue

Are both of the accounts managed by your internal AD server or is the POP user just using POP out of the office or a separate POP on another ISP. All POP does is download email, it has no connections to the calendard on Exchenge, all it does is download email. If you want full functionality out of the office look at RPC over HTTP.

Searching to create a meeting room management system within nine rooms, all rooms will be equipped with displays outside,
looking to connect all displays with Microsoft Outlook,So that using Microsoft Outlook user should be able to book rooms, meeting which will end shown in designated room display

A:Meeting room management

You could probably do this just creating a Calendar for each room and then allowing people to open and edit shared calendars. This would be the quickest and cheapest way i believe.

There are programs and systems that can help you manage this but can be very costly.
