Facebook - unable to connect message to any address containing "Facebook.com"

Q: Facebook - unable to connect message to any address containing "Facebook.com"

I get an Internet Explorer error " Unable to connect" error message whenever I try to connect to facebook, even when using a link sent to me in an email. I can connect to any and all of my favourites and when using Google search for a site.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Facebook - unable to connect message to any address containing "Facebook.com"

Is this from a work or school computer? Perhaps it is being blocked.

I have been getting this error message when I click "Add more photos" to my photo albums on Facebook for some time now:

Unable to update files in cache.

at sun.plugin.viewer.WNetscapePluginObject$Initer.run(Unknown Source)

However, Facebook's Java photo uploader application used to always work fine regardless of that error message.

This morning, however, it has stopped working. I am unable to upload any photos, because it will always say:
Upload Failed. Click on My Photos and try again.Click to expand...

It never works.

The simple uploader (which is non-Java) does work, which seems to mean that there is no problem with Facebook's servers; instead there is a problem with Java.

I have around 200 pictures I wish to upload and uploading 5 at a time via the simple uploader is definitely not an option.

Could someone please help?

When i tick "keep me logged in" option, Chrome says "The webpage has a redirect loop. Error 310" and IE9 blinks between mail.google.com/..... & accounts.google.com/....
It is possible for me to log in without "keep me logged in" option.

This issue is only with Google chrome & Internet Explorer 9. Firefox is working fine.
I have checked disabling firewall & Antivirus.

OS: Windows 7 pro X64
Dial up connection.
Avira Antivir & Comodo firewall

A:Unable to log in to gmail & facebook with "keep me logged in" option

Try deleting the cookies for those sites.

Delete cookies for individual site in Chrome

Delete cookies for individual site in IE9

This can also be caused by browser extensions. You can try both browsers without extensions if clearing cookies does not work.

For Chrome

Click the wrench icon> Select Tools> Select Extensions> On the Extensions page, click Disable for the extensions you'd like to temporarily remove

For IE

Start> In search box type no add-ons> Enter

This will open IE with no add-ons

Hello,
When I try to login to Facebook I get this error message:
"Sorry, this feature isn't available right now
An error occurred while processing this request. Please try again later."

I am on a:
HP Pavilion g6 PC, 64-bit OpSys, Windows 7 Home.

This started yesterday morning. Here's what I've done so far:
- cleared history/cache in Chrome and restarted the computer - still not able to login.
- uplugged router and reset - still not able to login.
- logged in from my wifes computer and was able to get in.
- logged in from my iphone and was able to get in.
- logged in with I.E. and was able to get in the 1st time, tried again later and was not able to.
- uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome (and all associated files) and was not able to login.
- visited the Geek Squad at Best Buy and they didn't know.

I read an online forum and saw a couple responses:
- FB may be doing maintenance on servers or databases
- you account may be temporarily banned for some reason
but both of those don't seem to apply to me if I can get on with another computer and my iphone, unless those use a different IP address or something.

Any suggestions anyone?
Thanks.
PS I sent 2 messages to FB but they just send back the standard 'thanks for the feedback' message.

Hello there i have a facebook page for almost 3 years, and about 2 years ago facebook "disabled" my writing right for some reason. There was not any insulting nor advertising links on that page. Soon after that i close my fb page but my friend took ownership of that page, 6 month ago when i activated my fb page again he returned it to me. Anyway i sent like 15-20 mails to facebook support about this problem but i did not get answer at all.

For example i do not have a option "Use facebook as page" on my main screen, and now with new page design i have that option but when i click on it, it puts me back on home page and nothing happened.
Anyone have some idea what to do? Every suggestion would be helpful.

A:Unable to "Use facebook as page"

So if I understand correctly in the new design - while in admin panel and under the menu item manage. There is no "use facebook as ______" And your personal profile is listed as one or the only admin.

1)When I click on the wifi icon on the right hand side bottom bar , I can see the network , but it does not connect , and gives me the same error message .

2)When I click on Network and Sharing Center , and then on manage wireless network , I don't see the name(stes) of the wireless network(So I can't even remove it)

3)I have tried uninstalling, installing, updating my network adapter , drivers etc . but none of the things have worked .

I can't seem to figure out what the problem is . Its really bugging me now :| , I formatted my laptop , restored it to factory settings , nothing worked.
I also tried to connect through a hotspot which I made from my mobile and it got connected easily without any problem .

One is the password log-in, the other is the pin. I can successfully log in with either. I just want to know, what is with the error message? I've got a connection, so I can't figure out why.

have asked me to post on these forms. Can someone please help me with this? I am not able to move forward because the error is pretty generic and doesn't give any additional details.

Hello,

I'm completely new to this forum. So will try to follow instructions as well as I can!

Last week, we noticed that when going to facebook website, a suspicious looking pop-up window showed up. It's poorly written, so it looks quite dodgy.

Here's a screen capture:

Also, when checking the page source it showed that it was connecting to "analiz-pro.org"
Specifically this:

Code:
</body><script language="JavaScript" src="[URL="http://forums.techguy.org/view-source:https://analiz-pro.org/facebook/query.js"]https://analiz-pro.org/facebook/query.js[/URL]"></script></html>
Facebook takes ages to load, chat is not working properly or anything else for that matter and that "interview" pop-up appears everywhere on the site in any browser. I used Firefox and IE.

Ran avg anti-virus and lavasoft ad-aware. Apparently found something (right now I don't remember what it was called) so quarantined, then cleared, erased all cookies, cleared cache and restarted the computer. But it didn't go away.

Please help! And of course, any help will be appreciated!

Has anyone else had this happen on Windows XP. When playing videos on Facebook in IE8 ever since they changed the design, (stupid IMO) the Volume Control takes about 15-20 seconds longer to open and it will be several inches up from the taskbar in the video screen area of Facebook. No other programs or video playing is affected by this behavior of the Volume Control. For example, You Tube is normal.

So I had to identify pictures of my friends and match the names with the pictures. Why did this happen so randomly?.. Never happened before?

Hello, kind folks,

I made the mistake of opening a fake youtube link through facebook this morning. It downloaded Bolivar.exe and Tinyproxy into my computer... I found Bolivar and deleted it on my own, but was not allowed to delete Tinyproxy (I was asked to check if it was write protected, or my disk was full).

I downloaded and ran SDfix, and something called "Catch me" that came with it. This was from advice I found on the forum, "bleeping computer."

I understand now that I shouldn't have done this without the help of folks like you... I really appreciate any help, and apologize for making it harder for you...

So. I have two user settings on my laptop. I can't access internet from the one which I used to run the SDfix. I can only access internet through my guest user. The internet seems to be running slow, and google searches aren't working well-- especially when I seach for "tinyproxy."

I'm attaching everything as requested. I'm sorry if I miss somethng you need-- I am very unfamiliar with these forums (obviously).

Thank you so much for your help and time,

I have deleted cookies and cache (whatever that is) and finally got so frustrated that I re-installed xp pro. A Google Chrome extension is a slap in the face for Facebook.
By Eric Doyle, 22 Oct 2010 at 14:44

As a lover of Facebook but a supporter of privacy, developer Brian Kennish has devised a Facebook application claiming to block information to and from third-party advertisers.

Kennish, a developer at Google, decided to develop a program to counter Facebook Connect?s ability to follow users as they browse registered sites on the web. It also suppresses the ?Connect via Facebook? sidebar.

As a member of the Chrome team, his application is an extension for the Google browser. He therefore felt it necessary to make it clear on his download site that he developed the utility as a private individual and that it had nothing to do with any Google initiative.

He had been keeping his head down since he launched Disconnect. ?Thanks, but I wouldn?t be a very good interview right now. Here?s an algorithm to simulate: No comment,? was his only response on Twitter.

On his blog he elaborated: ?I?ll have more to say about the making of and response to the Facebook Disconnect extension later.?

Kennish claimed Facebook Connect had a history of leaking personally identifiable information and Facebook Disconnect blocked this traffic from the third-party sites to Facebook servers.

We have Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11. For the last few days we've gotten "This page can't be displayed" only when trying to load Facebook - all other sites we visit load just fine. If I click on the "Fix connection problems" button, the resulting message is "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (www.facebook.com) is not responding."
In my tentative poking around, I found I had a couple 'white flag' messages: one was an issue with McAfee (apparently there was some kind of problem several days ago) and the other with Windows and/or Internet Explorer. I followed the prompts to resolve these, downloading McAfee Virtual Technician, Microsoft's version of virtual technician, and upgrading from Internet Explorer 10 to 11 in the process. Also added facebook.com to Compatibility View. Still getting "This page can't be displayed."

I have noticed that my AOL email has been sending out spam mail. It's the email linked to my facebook.

There are no options for this. I can post my location in the body of post. This is one that I would have to put there each time, unlike the general nearby location which was there all the time. I  have had this problem for quite some time and just overlooked it, thinking it might somehow be resolved with the virtually constant barrage of Windows 7 updates several months ago. But but it wasn't. I've been around PCs for several years,
and I have never seen an instance I would simply give up on.
When I am online, on any site, using any browser, I invariably see Facebook posts creep onto my desktop. Naturally I have looked in all the obvious (to me anyway) places that could emanate from; Applications, processes, etc. I even doubled the
registry in hopes of finding at least some mention of a running Facebook entry. I found nothing.
I am the only user of the PC and and  connecting via a local LAN.
If someone doesn't have time to mess with this, please at least give me a starting place to look for this pesky creature.

Every so often when I try to go to Facebook.com, I get this "404 Not Found" error on a blank white page. It doesn't go away until hours later when I try again. I'm on a Mac so I Pinged the URL (to no success) and have cleared history/cookies/cache. Help!

A:Facebook "404 Not Found" Error

Error 404 is where the server is available but cannot find the the targetted material.

I suggest you turn off your Firewall temporarily and try to reaccess with the Firewall disabled.

It could also be that you are behind a proxy? Ensure that you are trying to gain access directly

It could also be that your server for Facebook is down and you are unlucky... Is this problem ongoing?

Hello there, Please help me! My AVG Free is detecting viruses and i know I picked them up from the facebook emails. I received several email notifications from facbook that one of my friends had sent me a message. i opened the email and clicked on the link in the message. it took me to what looked like youtube but wanted me to download adobe flash player so i clicked on that in the video screen. then i started getting these internet explorer popups that i do not have full virus protection and that i could download full protection as my files were being stolen and i made sure to keep "x" ing those windows. then another one with a heading "message from website" pops up and says im not fully protected. click ok to download full protection. i click "x". then a fake windows explorer window pops up of what appears to be "my computer" and its "scanning" but i click the x to close because i know it part of the virus. my AVG free edition vaulted a "koobface" trojan yesterday and 5 different things today!

I do not know how to disable my anti-virus but i was able to follow the rest of the instructions closely. I really appreciate this forum! THANK YOU!

Please DO NOT run any scans/tools or other fixes unless I ask you to. This is very important for several reasons. Here are just two of them:
1. The tools that we use are very powerful and can cause >>irreparable damage<< to your computer if not used correctly.
2. Commercial scanners, for the most part can not completely remove some of the more "resistant" infections. This makes it much more difficult to get rid of completely.
If you get stuck or are unsure of something please ask for a further explanation, do not guess.

Hi all, this is my first post and I'm hoping maybe someone could give me some advice, basically I am getting what I have been told looks like "code" on my Facebook newsfeed also if I send someone a message it says the same message has been seen at different times. I am under the impression I am being monitored and messages being infiltrated, what would the purpose of the "code" be and if the same message says seen at 941pm then 1134pm for example doesn't make sense, thanks for any help or advice regarding this

I don't know where this should go, makes sense to ask here. Is there any way I could stop someone's shares being shown on my news feed on Facebook? I've tried all the generic news feed settings and none of them seem to let me ignore shares. I was thinking maybe custom CSS was possible? Someone did it with removing the "Friends you may know" section so I can't see why it's not possible to block "So and so shared this", if obviously there isn't an advanced way to block shares any easier.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi TechSupport!

Me and 2 other colleagues are experiencing a problem with our internet for over a week now, I hope you can help us!

For some reason we are unable to connect to websites like Facebook, Hotmail and a few others websites. When we try to connect we do see the login screen, but after that the site keeps loading and loading for several minutes and then the screen turns blank or says "the connection was reinitialized".

The funny thing is all 3 of us use Windows XP Professional SP3, but other colleagues with Windows 7 Professional don't have this problem at all.

Technical Data:
- HP Pro 3010 Small Form Factor PC Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5400 @ 2.7GHz
- Windows XP Professional SP3
- Java 7 Update 17
- Adobe Flash Player 11, Version: 11.6.602.171
- Mozilla Firefox 19.0
- Internet Explorer 8, Version:8.0.6001.18702 (Cipher Strength: 128-bit)
- Networkconnection: via Static IP

I've googled and tried a lot, and came to the following result:
- Only Windows XP computers have this problem, Windows 7 do not get this error, and all computers are connected on the same network.
- This problem occurs regardless of browser (tried with IE, Firefox, Chrome)
- This problem still occurs after deleting All History, All Cookies, after changing/turning off proxy.
- Flushing DNS didnt solve it.

I am able to ping Facebook (see attachment).

But if I go to a website like Jaggle the website loads normally, but keeps loading some addins/plugins or something:

I have used Yahoo mail as my business mail site for years, and at some time I must have filled out a form not realizing that my name, city and state address, and blank space in which to update my activities are all there for anyone to see. I don't want it there.

I read as much as I could about opting out and found that, if I do, a number of Yahoo's services will no longer be available to me, including my e-mail address and my password, which could then be available to somebody else.

I don't want to lose this business address but, to Yahoo, it's all or nothing. I would have to start from the beginning with a new e-mail address, and it appears that it couldn't be the same one.

I am personally opposed to being on any similar site such as Facebook or My Space and have never joined them. Have you had this experience or do you know how to get around this? I couldn't find a business phone for Yahoo.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hello dear helper,

I've already run several anti-malware programs by the advice of a helper on this site. Though it is running much better now, there remains one problem.

The problem that my computer is having seems to appear on and off and on and off. Basically, in Firefox, when I try to enter certain 'popular' sites such as Facebook, it will be unable to connect. During these periods of time, other popular sites (such as Youtube or Gmail) will also refuse to connect. More 'obscure' sites (blogs, news, etc) will work perfectly. Meanwhile, if I try to enter these sites with Internet Explorer, I get redirected to an fake Adobe Flash downloader page. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=5ctue&s=6

Then all of a sudden, everything will function normally. Without any change or warning, the sites will stop working again. And the cycle repeats.

I hope someone can help! Thank you for your time!

I am trying to map network drive using Windows 8.1 64-bit.  The drive is a USB disk plugged right into my router.  The drive location is //192.168.0.1.  If I do the following at a command prompt, it is successful and I can read/write
to the USB drive using file explorer at //192.168.0.1:
net use \\192.168.0.1 /USER:admin (and typing in the password when prompted)

However, if I try to use the Map Network Drive tool (while selecting the "different credentials" option) something weird happens.  The Windows Security box pops up to enter my credentials but then immediately a second box opens up
titled just "Windows".  The box says:
The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred: Attempt to access invalid address.

Also, if I use Remote Desktop Connection to try and connect with my computer at work I get a very similar situation.  A Windows Security box pops up to enter my credentials followed immediately with a box with the message "Remote Desktop
Connection has stopped working".  I know it should work because I created a .rdp text file with my username and encrypted password in it and then I can connect!

I'm thinking something must be corrupt in my registry.  The only security software I run is the stuff that comes with Windows 8.1, pretty basic machine setup quite frankly.  A system restore is my very last option because I don't know
