Preferred Solution: More trouble ( Nvivda geforce 4mx

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: More trouble ( Nvivda geforce 4mx

Watch your doublepost there George. Peeps'll be all over you about that around here.

As for your issue, first question: Is that path supposed to be

program files\backweb\backweb\client\

That is, did you spell that right? Does it say "blackwed" and not "backweb"? Does it use forward slashes instead of backslashes? It is an odd path I must say.

But the easiest way to rid yourself is to click Start-Run and type "regedit". Once inside, hit F3 and search for "blackwed.dill". Or did you mean "blackwed.dll? When you find a reference to it, delete the key. It will likely be in a place key called "SharedDlls" or similar. Delete it's entry on the RIGHT side. If it is listed all by itself on the left then delete the whole key on the left.

So be carefull.

It may actually be a different program that is trying to call this dill, or dll. I would suggest posting your Hijackthis log. Read this: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic31780.html

And also download Autoruns from www.sysinternals.com. Once installed, click the edit menu, or one of them, and select the "hide signed microsoft" entry, then refresh. Post anything suspicious it sees as well.

Heres the deal. I have a PNY geforce 4 4600ti. A few weeks ago i started getting wierd graphics ( red dots, colored lines ). I got a G4mx cheap card to see if it was the card or not. When i put the MX card in it works fine. So i thought great my good G4 is dead.
I put the old G4 in an old pc to see what happened and it worked fine. I put it back in the original pc and it wont work. So i put the MX back in and it worked fine again. hope that makes sense. What it comes down to is the G4 4600 will work in 1 pc but not the other. My question is why would this be? It worked fine untill i updated the drivers and updated Direct X. After that I reformated and used the drivers that came with the card but it still wouldnt work.

I can't find a driver for this card. Im testing how fast Win 7 would be on an old rig, but can't get the required drivers for this.

I tried the vista drivers for this card, 96.85 i think, but doesn't work, system restarts, screen goes black, no signal etc.

Any ideas, help?

A:Geforce FX5700 Driver Trouble

96.85 are the last official NVIDIA drivers for the FX series. They do work and you can retrieve them from Windows Update. They are just tolerably bad though.

To cut a long story short, you should have a look at the 169.XX and 175.XX series of drivers, the last ones for Vista to unofficially support the FX series.

Even more specifically, just check 169.44 (a bit faster in general, but unstable) and 175.19 (a bit slower in general, faster in specific areas like alpha blending, stable, supports custom resolutions).

You can find all of them, along with installation instructions (do not run Setup), here

I recently purcahsed a Geforce Fx5600 256mb for gameing purposes. I uninstalled my old drivers, installed direct x9.0, installed newest nvidia drivers and have recent windows updates. My problem is when i go to play new games it freezes. If I play Final Fantasy 11 and click create character the game will then lock up and I am forced to restart. Another Game I have trouble with is Ether Lords 2 Where the game will freeze at the main menu sometimes. Something I would like to point out is for Max Payne 2, when i first played it froze at the main menu I then changed the Graphics excellerator from Hardware to Software, and I no longer had the freezeing problem at the main menu for Max Payne 2. It seems to work fine on older games such as Diablo 2 and Half-Life. Could Someone please help me!?

So it's christmas day, and I get a new 8600GT. Luckily, it was really easy to install, but when I boot up the computer for the first time, I get a "Disc Read Error: Press ctrl+alt+del to restart" I restart it, and get the same message. I don't know much in BIOS, but what I did find, was selecting either PCI, and PEG, and that didn't help. I know my HDD isn't messed up, because I reinstalled my crappy X300, and everything works fine. Any advice?

Short version:
Any driver I try to install for this- the companies or unnoficial ones- gives me an error.

Very long version:
I order the retail version of said package fo $80 for my Dell Dimension 2400 (POS, I know) that runs WinXP home, and try to install it. It turns out I don't have the power supply for it, so I go buy a 300w PSU for $50. So now, it detects the card- add hardware wizard comes up at startup after I uninstall the integrated graphics driver- but when I select the driver to install for it, it says "no hardware information present" or something similiar (I would give exact error, but I would have to disable integrated video, reboot, go through add hardware wizard, reinstall old drivers, and reboot again). This happened with the driver included on the CD, the latest driver from the company, Omega drivers, and Starfall drivers. All the same thing. If I plug the moniter into the card anyway, it's idle (like what happens when the moniter is turned on and plugged into a shut down computer).

Please... I beg of you people... don't let this $130 I couldn't really afford to spend in the first place go to waste!

So here's the situation:

I have installed the drivers
I have power to everything inside
I have tried to start the system up in safe mode (holding F8)
I have everything connected in it's proper place, or so I think.

The problem is; the monitor I have connected to the graphics card's output and this does not "wake up" or turn on the monitors when I turn the machine on...

Further more, When I hold the power button for the usual 4 seconds to switch it off nothing happens, it just keeps running.

Can anyone help me resolve these problems, I'm now stuck for idea's.

Hi everyone! Im having a little trouble with a video card I just bought. Its an nVidia GeForce FX 5200 128MB PCI card and I run a P4 2GHz 512MB RAM with XP-Home. When I installed the board and plugged my monitor in, the screen came in blank, but I could see my cursor. When I right-clicked with my cursor, the menu would come up, and I would click 'properties', but no window would show. When I plugged my monitor back into my motherboard, my desktop came back up, and the 'properties' window was up. I figured out that the motherboard chip was still enabled. I disabled the motherboard chip and enabled the video card, but Im still having this multiple display problem. I even went in and selected so that all windows would open in the video card display, but it only works on certain things, like the internet and taskbar and stuff. But if I try starting a program from my desktop, it starts in my old display.

Can anyone help? I appreciate it!

hmmm did the 32 mb card work properly?
did you uninstall the 32 mb card drivers?
try having your minitor cable linked straight onto the motherboard monitor connector if you have one and i think the reason the picture would not boot from bios is becouse some drivers are still installed.
did you uninstall the fx 5500 drivers before putting the 32 mb card back in.

check if the graphics card uses too utch power and check if the monitor is connected onto the graphics card properly.

the problem you are facing could be due to motherboard related problems or you may have a faulty graphics card or you simply might be installing the graphics card wrong (read the instruction booklet carefully)

Hi all,

I recently got a larger monitor and decided to upgrade the graphics card from the integrated graphics that came with this machine.

I uninstalled the old driver and downloaded the new ones. When I installed the 6200, and connect the VGA cable to it, the monitor does not get a signal and goes to sleep. If I try to install the driver without the new card in, the program stops the install because there is no hardware detected.

This is an older machine. It is a Dell I got in Nov, '05...DIM3000 XP home SP3 pentium4 2.8GHz 2gb with an 80 gig hd.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

A:Solved: Trouble Installing GeForce 6200 in a Dell

You need to install the video card and start the computer before you can install the driver for it.

You need to go into the BIOS setup and make sure the video adapter is set to match the video card connection type - PCI, AGP, PCI Express, etc.

You need to disable the integrated graphics device in the Device Manager.

Make sure you don't mistakenly connect the monitor to the integrated graphics port instead of the video card port.

You didn't say what the power supply wattage is in that desktop, but I'll assume it's sufficient.

I recently installed a NVIDIA GeForce 6200 AGP 256 MB video card in an 8-year old desktop that has a 160 watt power supply.

Regret if this sounds like an entry-level problem: I've been trying to install a PNY GeForce 5200 graphics card (PCI format) for my son's video game use on my XP system and keep getting a black screen after the Microsoft start-up visuals appear once I reboot. I've double-checked that the card is installed securely in the PCI slot, and connected the monitor to correctly to the VGA plug on the new card, per the instructions, but after rebooting, it always returns to a black screen after the Microsoft graphics intro.

Last night I reattached the monitor to the normal VGA connection and checked out the internet for any info on troubleshooting this installation process, and saw a few remarks from users who had bought the GeForce 5200 on Amazon that the instructions were incomplete and that the existing graphics card has to be disabled or uninstalled before the new card can be properly installed (stands to reason, but the PNY instructions don't provide any directions for the beginner).

If anyone has any experience in installing this type of card sucessfully on their XP system and can offer any simple steps to disable/uninstall the current graphics card, it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, IMsci

Once you put in your 8600GT and connect your monitor up to the 8600GT GPU rather than the onboard than the 6100 should immediately disactivate and your computer will be running off the 8600GT. The GPU and memory clocks are lower and the pixels/sec isn't as high, but the 6600 has support for Shader 3.0 and has the ability to process MPEG2 video on card which will help watching DVD's and with my TV card also. A:Geforce 5500 256MB vs Geforce 5200 128

The only other good one was the 5600. (hard to find)

A:Upgraded from Geforce 4 MX to a Geforce 6600 256MB

sounds like a defective video card. try putting your old video card back in.

if it works. i would return the new card for a replacement.

I have an older machine I use for backup (Dell OptiPlex 745) fairly well appointed, with an on-the-motherboard graphics adapter (Intel, I think) running one monitor and a plug-in nVidia based adapter, running two monitors. I was running Linux on it until January 2015, when I joined the Windows Insider Program and installed Win 10. At first the two nVidia-driven monitors would not work at all, but in a few months they started working after an update download from Microsoft (I was a "fast track" Insider). All was well until February 2016, when both nVidia monitors quit working and my WiFi card went dead. I tried a number of things, but no no avail. I got the nVidia-based monitors when I directly downloaded a driver from the manufacturer, but after that, when the first Microsoft update was downloaded, the nVidia-driven screens went blank. I really need three monitors for the work I do. I tried all sorts of things, including a hard disk wipe and complete reload of Win 10. No success. I just ran out of time to experiment with it after a few weeks.

I'm now very concerned about my main machine. It's an older custom-built machine with an Intel Core2 Q6600 processor and two graphics cards: a GeForce 8800GT and GeForce 9500GT, driving four monitors. I really can't screw up on my Win 7 to 10 upgrade and loose this machine because of bad device drives forced on me by Microsoft.

QUESTION: Does anyone have success with the 8800GT and/or 9500GT?

I have a Vostro 460 intel core i5-2400 3.10GHZ and 16GB of RAM, Quad Core
Not sure of the Power Supply size but I bought this unit in 2011
The BIOS version is A06 last updated 2012. I'm running windows 10 Pro 64bit - which the 460 is not optimized for - so I believe the BIOS version is the latest.
I want to get a 4K screen - probably the P2715Q - so I need to get a new video card.
My question(s) - 1. Will either/both of the above video cards work with my motherboard? I was told the MB needed to have UEFI boot in order to work with them. But I was also told it didn't necessarily. Conflicting advice.
2. Also is my PCI 1.0 slot workable with the PCI-E 3.0 interface these devices have?3. Has anyone had any BIOS compatability issues with either of these video cards? As to my motherboard I believe it's the standard MB that shipped with the device
Thanks! Any advice or ideas would be much appreciated. Please let me know if any questions or need more information

Which of those two card's would be better for very light gaming (Some 04 and 05 Sports Games) and other than that just regular XP use? My old FX 5200 was a 128mb card with a 200mhz clock speed and the new 6100 has 425mhz clock speed. Any Help?

A:Integrated Geforce 6100 or old Geforce FX 5200

If you have lots of system RAM, then the 6100 is probably the best choice. You'd probably need at least a gig of RAM though.

If you only have 256, or 512, the 5200 might be the better choice. Best idea is to test your games with both setups, and see which plays better.
