I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm using an Ideapad 110-15ACL. Windows Defender Security Center keeps giving me a warning under Device Security, saying "Reset your security processor to fix functionality issues." When I press the "Get Started" button underneath, it gives me the option to "Clear and Restart." That doesn't seem to work, since I've tried it several times and the warning will not go away. Any advice on how to fix this?

I bought this ideapad on January 13 last year. It was working perfectly since July 2,2018. But now, the keyboard isn't working properly and inputting random keys.when I start the laptop, then the keyboard looks like normal. But then when I try to type anything, like a document or an URL, then it works strangely. I tried an online keyboard tester to see which keys it presses on its own. That showed me the keyboard was pressing F3,F7, caps lock, num lock, up arrow key, down arrow key, left arrow key, left shift key, "t" key, "y" key, "f" key and enter key of the numeric pad at the same time. If anyone know the solution of thus problem, then please let me know. I can't work on my laptop at all due to defective keyboard.

TIA The "Novo" button is accessed through a small hole in the casing on both my Ideapad 500-15ISK, and my 700-15ISK.  However, make sure that you are inserting the end of the paper clip into the correct hole! Scroll to the bottom of this page and click "Documentation" in the "Support" column.  You should be able to download the "User Guide" and/or the "Hardware Maintenance Manual" for your system.  One or other should show you where the Novo button is located. -- from CyberSimian in the UK

Hey guys,  hopefully somebody here can help me. Recently I purchased (14 days ago) a Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ACL. Everything seemed to be working fine untill about two days ago. I noticed that an entire column of keystrokes wasn't working (more specifically !, i, k and . (azerty keyboard)). I have not spilled anything and sporadically (but it always is working or failing the entire time) they work just fine. Does anybody have any ideas on what the problem could be?  Much appreciated.

My 18day old 110-15ACL with Windows 10 skips or stutters during video replay. It does this using flash player or html5. My router is in order and on the fast lane when viewing and stutters even when selecting non HD down to 720 and lower. The website i view the videos on <motogp.com> requires a connection of 8Mbps or higher and 4GB of memory. My internet connection is 47.55Mbps right now. The AMD A6-7310 can overclock to 2.4GHz and i have used similar rating before with success. On my computer the Radeon AMD Free Sync is not supported as i found after buying the computer and when selecting AMD Steady video, a vertical black bar is on a video screen "youtube" as example so i uncheck the setting. For the other AMD Radeon settings such as AMD Fluid Motion, it's not in the settings as an option even though it's in the settings subject matter.Setting GPU Scaling on in Radeon doesn't help.Does the Radeon settings have anything to do with this problem and or is there something i am missing that someone can offer some help with ?Last, it appears the operating system was installed march 2017. Lenovo Service Bridge does not currently suggest any needed updates.Thanks,V-4

Hi,  I got this laptop just a day ago and switched it on with connection to A/C Power. As per instructions, I charged the battery for 2 hours, but after that the laptop overheated and it won't turn on. I assumed it might be because the battery is still in ship mode, so let the battery completely drain and connected to A/C power outlet and switched it on again. Now, since yesterday, the laptop only switches on after the battery is completely drained and on a/c power connection. This laptop has the battery built-in, so removing the battery is not an option. Please help. Oh Also, I did press the Novo button, but it didn't solve the problem.

Hi, I am having some issues with the wireless connection. I first tried to install the win7 Realtek WLAN Driver, the version that's on the site (Liteon_11.0.0.612 Broadcom_7.12.26.27 Realtek_2023.19.831.2015), but I get a "No Matched Wireless Device In This System" message.I installed the Intel WLAN Driver and was able to connect to the wifi but I'm not able to access the router's page on 192.168.1.1. Also when I try to access a radio stream, it takes about 10 minutes to load it and it stops playing after another 10 minutes (as if it had buffered/downloaded those 10 mins). I have another pc connected to the same network and both of these things work just fine, so it seems to be an issue only with this pc.Other than this, the web pages seem to work ok as well, no loading issues. So a couple of questions:1. Should those 2 wlan drivers (intel and realtek) be both installed or on the contrary, just one?2. If I should install the realtek driver (even if just for testing) can somenone point me to a version that works with this system?3. Could those 2 issues above be related to drivers or something else that needs installed? A few weeks ago several issues with my computer started.

My issues first began with Microsoft Office Word Starter. I couldn't run it -- I would get an error message about there being no associated file. I fixed this with system restore, and my computer was good for a while. Perhaps a week later, I noticed I was unable to install any programs. I would get a notification saying something about shell.dll and that there was no file associated with whatever it was that I would try to install (VLC player, Adobe Reader, the list goes on... but for some reason WinRAR worked).

I tried to remedy this by doing a system restore. When my computer started up again, a notification popped up saying that system restore failed (or that it was unable to make changes). Today, I noticed I am unable to run anything as administrator, FireFox has been acting up, and my computer has been freezing quite frequently.

Anyone have any idea what's going on with my poor laptop?

A:Issues with running as administrator, installing programs, system restore, etc.

My first impulse would be to run the appropriate hard drive diagnostic.

Forget the notifications...any onscreen error messages...system reboots out of the blue...inability to access Windows Update?

Hello, My parents have owned a Lenovo laptop for a couple of years now. However, recently this issue showed up and I wondered whether there is a chance there is a solution to this problem which I could try myself, since the laptop its warranty already expired. If I recall correctly, the model of the laptop is the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 2, running Windows 10. So here is the issue; the laptop has issues turning on. Oddly enough, it is not a very consistent issue. Eventually, the laptop does turn on. The problem is that this sometimes takes hours, other times the laptop appears to be able to boot instantly as it normally would. I have no idea what affects this. When pressing the power button, the keyboard backlight starts flashing. It does this until the laptop completely boots, and as I said, the amount of time this takes varies. I already tried looking for solutions on different forums, but they usually concern the issue where the keyboard backlight flashed and the laptop simply will not boot at all, which is not the case here, as it eventually does but often it takes a while.Other solutions suggested a certain amount of flashes meant a certain issue or failure. Problem here is that the amount of flashes seem to be random, so it is not as if it just keeps looping a certain amount of flashes as it varies. This leaves me puzzled as to what could be the culprit. I am not sure what to do, especially since I have not owned a Windows-based machine in a whi... Read more

Hi Support, I bought my IdeaPad a month ago. After few days of using i saw a black horizontal line on the screen. I opened a ticket and sent my laptop for a warranty repair. Today i recieved my laptop, and black line issue was fixed. BUT!!!! After the 'repair' two new issues are intoduced!1) This is the craziest to my mind - my screen is assembled with an issue. It is curved in the middle of the screen, and i'm afraid if i push that a place a bit harder my screen will be damaged. Do you have a quality Control service? I cant imagine your engineers have not seen what they done. 2) After repair i can see a backlight bleed on the bottom of the screen. It was not there before, so it's an issue after the repair!  I'm totally mad! How come you could make two critical issues from one? I need your help, even if that sounds funny

Hi folks,

Wondered if anyone has any ideas to solve an issue I am having. Unable to get the Dell Recovery & Restore process to get past the Backup and Migration phase. You Tube of the Process

Quick Review
- Dell Laptop with Windows 8
- Laptop "contracted" a UKash Ransom Malware through a fake Flash/Java update
- When trying to set the safe mode boot for Windows 8, at the MSCONFIG checkbox step, the laptop "crashed" and rebooted
- Now unable to get into windows, suspecting the partial safe boot mode setup steps
- F8 or Shift F8 do no work or provide any boot menu options
- attempted to clean malware with Kaspersky Rescue CD and after 2 hours only 2000 "infected" files were cleaned and thousands more to still be cleaned but it seems they are not able to "cleaned" but the rescue CD
- Obtained Recovery & Restore USB from Dell but at the Backup & Migration phase the laptop reboots never completing the process.

What I have tried and have not worked
- finding registry options to try and get back into windows
- tried to find options to get safe boot to be enabled without getting into windows
- tried to use Windows 7 recovery disks to resolve the safe boot steps

Appreciate any recommendations or thoughts.

A:Help - Windows 8 Dell Recovery & Restore Issues on Laptop

Since you have thousands of infected files, many of them may reside in the area you are trying to "backup and migrate" and they could possibly be hosing up your recovery efforts. Is there any way to skip that portion of the process and just do a clean factory reset? Now, I do understand that you would lose all of your data files; however, given your current circumstances, they may not be worth the effort of trying to save them at this point. However, if you absolutely need all of those data files, then please just ignore my suggestion.

Hi - I got a new hard drive for my Acer laptop. I tried many things in the tutorials to no avail.

Hard Drive: Toshiba (3935) 7mm 500GB Serial ATA-2.6 5400RPM HDD

Laptop: Acer Aspire V5-122P-0408

The last thing I did was I hit Shift-F10 and run the diskpart command and eventually put in this command, as stated in the help forums:
DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK 0 (after confirming Windows 7 target HD #)
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="WINDOWS 7"
ACTIVE
EXIT
EXIT

It goes to 100%...Still, I am unable to install Win7. It says "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information." whenever I try.

I see this "Load Drivers" clickable link...would I ever have to load any drivers at this point? If so, what kind/where?

I'm at a loss for what to do. BIOS sees the hard drive. I can partition it. But I just can't install onto it. Helllp!

Thank you!!

I made a post earlier this evening, and I thought I had it figured out, but it turns out I couldn't of been any further from right.
I'm having major issues trying to install ANY OS to this system, as Windows 7 refuses to read the hard drives in the setup.
--- Currently it's configured in RAID 0(stripe) I can take off the raid easily enough.
THE system BIOS refuses to detect the hard drives, no matter which configuration I choose to do it in.
I've attached a picture of the BIOS posting, for the forum to see what bios revision and such I'm running
The Windows Setup will refuse to detect the hard drives as well, THOUGH THEY WILL SHOW UP IN THE RAID configuration utility, both of them.

I went to attempt and install Windows XP to see if I could just revert to the original OS on this computer, and I can't even get the laptop to boot from the DVD ROM drive. :/ For some reason the BIOS has disabled boot from USB CD/DVD device, or something like that- with no option to try and re-enable it.
---------------re-enabled the CDBoot if so choose, I'm stuck on installing WIN 7 though.
In the BIOS I have 3 different options for the HD's. RAID, ATA, NONE.
Currently I have selected RAID for what I'm about to attempt, based on what another forum has had on it from nearly 2 years ago.

This is what I'm attempting now to fix this issue..

Is upgrading to 8 GB Ram would work ?    Thanks,Jyoti

A:Need help in installing drivers - Ideapad 100

Hi Jyothi,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

For the ACPI\MSFT0101 unknown device you can also simply disable Intel PTT (Platform Trust Technology). On Intel NUCs Visual BIOS: BIOS Setup <F2> Advanced - Security - Security Features pane - uncheck Intel Platform Trust Technology.

Secondly, Other than the specific applications that hog your RAM, if you think bumping your RAM from 4GB to 8GB is going to increase the speed of a regular application-like a video game?you should think again. The only thing that additional RAM does is allow your computer to do more things at once, not actually make it faster.

Please go through this link.

I hope the above information helps.

Regards,
Shashi

Hi, When I go my ideapad 710s-13IKB I did windows 10 clean install and recreated the paration table by deleting all the partitions and created two new paratitions, that includes removing the recovery partitions. Now I want to return back to the lenovo installation, I did a search where I can buy or download DVD/USB installation but under my model there is no option to buy one or download. Is there a way to reinstall the laptop and return back to lenovo image including the windows 10 and recovery paratitions? Thanks!

I just got my Lenovo Ideapad 700-15isk on the mail today, bought it with freedos (I already have a retail w10 license I want to transfer to it). Last night I prepared my bootable w10 usb and tested it on my old laptop to verify it works. No problem. I can't get it to work on the Lenovo, no matter what Bios settings I choose. I don't really mind if it's UEFI or Legacy at this point, I'm reinstalling next week when I get my new ssd disk, I just want to be able to get windows in for now. My usb stick is formatted as fat32, with windows 10 64-bit, I got the ISO using the media creation tool from Microsoft, and put it into the usb with rufus. At first, I was getting a winload.efi error (with either uefi, legacy, legacy first, uefi first and all variations you can think of). I redid the usb, this time just mounting the ISO file and copying the files manually. Now I'm getting winload.exe file might be damaged or missing. The mystifying thing is that the installer boots just fine on my old asus laptop. It's been years since the last time I did this, so I'm probably missing something obvious. Can anybody guide me on how to get the windows install screen to come up on this machine? Thank you in advance.

Automatic restore points are no longer being created in System restore on Vista laptop.
Manually created restore points disappear after a short time.
The following are the figures relating to System Restore;
Used Shadow Copy storage space 0 B
Allocated Shadow Copy storage space 0 B
Maximum Shadow Copy storage space 3 GB
Every time I try to increase the allocation the Maximum storage space increases but not
the allocation, and I get a message saying
Successfully resized the Shadow Copy storage association.
Would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

I find this often happens when there are disk read errors. Try doing a chkdsk /r then retry creating a restore point.

Check Disk - chkdsk

My Lenovo T60 crashed and was not able to be repaired. I do not know what caused my laptop to crash, but according to the PC Tech, the hard drive was reformatted. To be honest, I am here in the Philippines and did not bring my recovery disks with me & I am not so sure about the technical ability of the PC Tech.

That being said, he installed Windows XP Professional on my laptop and partitioned my hard drive. I have a 250 GB Western Digital HD. Before my laptop crashed, the drive was NOT partitioned. After the installation, I now have two drives, C, with 40 GB and D, with about 200 GB.

I lost a lot of photos and music, and other important documents. I decided to try to recover some of these files and used Recuva. The good news is that a lot of missing documents can be recovered. While listing the files and looking at them, I noticed that I had several System Restore points that I can recover.

My question is, can I use the most recent System Restore point that I recover and use that to reinstall all the missing software? I had MS Office 2007 Professional, MS Visio 2007, MS Project 2007, and other software that I do not have the installation disks with me.

From what I have read, System Restore will reinstall the system (registry, files, and software only) and not the My Documents folder.

If this can work, where do I put the system restore file? If need be, I can delete the new partition and resize the C partition, restore, and then repartition the hard drive afterwards.

A:Can I use a recovered System Restore point file to restore missing sw crashed laptop?

Since you already lost everything, try the System restore but first backup everything Recuva found onto a USB key. If your version Windows was not the same what the tech installed, it might not work. Also, he should have first ask you what to do with your files before formatting.
Otherwise you will have to wait till you can re-install everything.

Hello, After I installed this bios update E5CN60WW ( http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ro/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/700-SERIES/700-15ISK/80RU/80RU00LQRI... ) the computer rebooted and refused to boot in UEFI mode( as it was before) and only boots on LEGACY mode. When I try to boot on UEFI mode it says that I should select a boot mode ( hdd, usb so on) and when I select the hdd nothing happens(windows is installed).  Windows was installed on verison 56WW of bios, with UEFI settings only, and after the update to 60WW i cannot boot UEFI anymore just on LEGACY. Why? How can I go back to UEFI booting ? Also before I updated the bios I have created a backup with universal bios backup toolkit and created a file LENOVO-E5CN56WW.rom (is it possible to backflash to this one?) Thank you,Bogdan

Hi
i have several issues:

1. i have an old home pc (not a laptop ... midi case pc) - could i use it with my laptop?
i want to switch my laptop to the midi pc - to use the laptop's screen & keyboard with the midi pc (cpu, HDD etc...) & then switch back to my laptop (while the midi pc works at the background).

2. is there a good liquid cooling plate for a laptop (that really keeps it cool?)

3. if i have a PCI express 1 motherboard slot & i buy a PCIE2 screencard... will it work? (i know that with AGP the ver number changes everything).

thanks
