AVG 9 license problem - invalid license

Q: AVG 9 license problem - invalid license

I have AVG 9 (not free), upgraded from 8.5 a few weeks ago. On Dec. 6 it stopped working - even though my license doesn't expire until Dec. 6, 2010, the license is now shown as expired. Reactivating it doesn't help, copying and pasting from the email I received does nothing.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, the license is still showing as expired.

I've gotten no response from AVG at all. Can anyone suggest the next step?

Preferred Solution: AVG 9 license problem - invalid license

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Our company buy almost 6 months ago the Microsoft Action Pack that includes Visual Studio 2013 with online login to Access the program.  A few days ago I started having this error message and I cannot access the application anymore.
Any advice on how to fix this?  I already contacted the MSDN support and they ask me to create a topic in this forum for help.  Or they will have to ask me for small fee($$$) to resolve their problem.

Hi folks,
I am working with a company (that I have actually worked with for over 10 years on a consulting basis) and we are auditing our Microsoft Windows Server and server product licenses and preparing to upgrade Windows Server products.  We have ran into a snag, where the former System Administrator left the company a few years ago, however it was understood that the information regarding the VLSC was transferred to another partner in the company.  A new Systems Administrator has taken over, and we have determined that we do not have this information, including a Microsoft account username and password to access the VLSC and our Windows Server 2008R2 product keys, license agreements, SKUs, and downloads.  Unfortunately, the situation became took a turn for the worse about three months ago when the partner that had this information passed away.  No one at the company has access to this login information.  I currently administer most of their licensing, and have access to their much of their licensing information, download, product keys, etc., but I am clearly missing some very important ones.  I called Microsoft and they were of no assistance.  Since I am an administrator on the network, I can create a mailbox that the VLSC was probably originally registered under, however the VLSC says that Microsoft account is not even valid, not even prompting for the password.
I have a mailbox on their Exchange Server for their domain to prove I am ass... Read more

This machine is a very common model in my environment and I have done many fresh windows installations using the OEM license key without issue. however, on this particular machine, it reports it cannot activate because it cannot contact the KMS for activation.
Again, to clarify, this is the OEM product key that has been automatically pulled over from UEFI and NOT a MAK/KMS key.

I've run diagnostics as typically requested for this type of issue and can provide any additional information you might need. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi Roy,

Try activating once more, but make sure you read the key carefully. It won't contain any of these characters:

A common mistake is to misread a Q as an 0 or O.

My wife has had a Zoostorm Netbook for a year or so with no problems apart from a virus about 6 months ago which was removed. Now out of the blue when she booted it up the following message appeared and she was unable to access emails and internet.
Message reads:-
Invalid License Key
Check system date and time'

We then noticed that the date/time on right side of bottom tray read. '00.04 01/01/2008'.
We then clicked that area and managed to alter the date and time to real time and the Netbook then worked perfectly.
However when she turned it on this morning we were back to the same problem again. Again she got access to internet emails by correcting the time/date again.
can anyone please urgently shed some light on this problem and give us a reason for this manifestation and a permanent fix for it?
By the way when the changes are made to correct time/date the 'apply' buton is dead so after the changes they are not applied which to me would be wht changes are not saved? To compareI just tried the same thing with my desktop and the 'apply' function is live.

I am running Win8.1 Home on my laptop.  I have access to a Win8.1 Pro (volume license) through my university.

My question is - how do I do the upgrade, keeping all my data and system settings intact?
(I have looked at the info online, and the closest I have come to an answer is 'you need media, this cannot be done through the online Store'.  I have an <Win8.1-Pro-x64 .ISO> disc, is this sufficient?)

I have an HP IMC Basic 50 node edition software installed from last summer and a valid paid license and it has been working fine for 9 months.  It is installed on a virtual server Win2008R2 Std. and my hunch is that the MAC for the physical server is tied somehow to the license code.  I moved this virtual a couple of months ago to another physical 2012R2 server, and the virtual server has not been restarted since.  So, after an extended power outage, where I had to shutdown the physical before the UPS went caput, I booted it up, and all appears well, but when I use IE to get back into IMC, I get the Invalid license error code:50904.  It appears possibly my license or something has gotten whack?  The license file appears fine, but it's obviously not liking things.  I went through the steps to download a new license and try again, but to no avail.  Does anyone know who I can contact or how I can get a license that will work.  When I go to HPE site, it says regular HP support helps for IMC.  I can't seem to find a number or contact at HP that will get me where I need to be.  If you know of a way to get help, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you,  ToneWalker

This is a very quick and probably easy question.
I am offering regular KMS client servers, so the customer do not need to do any licensing as it will just happen out of the box.
BUT, we also want to offer a Bring Your Own license option, so the end customer can insert their own key.
So,I understand how to change the keys on our Windows Servers, and I wonder whether this builds will accept any OEM key as a replacement for the default KMS client one or not?

Many thanks.

Dear all,

A copy of Microsoft Office Professional 2007 has just been delivered to my home address - as I am out the country for an extended period I have tried to download the trial version from the Microsoft website and enter my licence key. However, this has not been recognised.

The version I have received is in an official box and was sealed when I bought it. Does anyone know if it is necessary to install the version on the CD for the licence to work? Is there any way I can it to work without having to get someone to post me the physical version?

Many thanks

A:License Problem

no the key should work with the trial version just fine. this issue may be due to the fact that MS had to remove office 2007 from retailer shelves earlier this month based on a court order due to patent infringement. you should contact ms and see if that is the cause.

Hi all.
I have an HP PC that I bought in 2011 (still works great) and I got windows sticker on it.
Inside the bios I think there use to be windows 7 installed so you can re-install when ever you want.
My IT guys deleted that "image" and install from other CD and without punting the license in.

Long story short, I want to format my win7 and install win 10.

1. Where do I download from?
2. Will my sticker work? see image, i mean, how can I use this license?

Hello to you all!

I am recently trying to fix some stuff on my Toshiba Satellite P500, but I encountered one problem about Win 7 license.

Someone in the past has hard formatted whole HDD thus deleting orginal preinstalled Windows 7 HP x64 OA. Recently computer is running on some other Win version, but I would like to get back to the original one.

I got the sticker with a license activation code underneath, but every time I tried to install Win 7 HP x64 and activate it with this code it says that this code does not apply to this version of Windows. I guess its all about this OA thingy.

In the given circumstances I wanted to download clean official Windows 7 x64 OA image, but had no luck in finding one. How can I get it? Or, what are my options to get back to original state?

I heard of the possibility of buying Restore Disk from Toshiba for some price (I think it was around 50 eur or so, not sure), but honestly I would like to avoid additional potentially unnecessary costs.

Is there any low-cost or no-cost way of fixting it? Needless to say that it would be nice/better to have everything original, especially when having possible free Win10 free upgrade in mind.

Thank you for your help in advance!

PS. I've googled this problem and found some other forum thread about it but still I haven't found any solution to this.

Does the drive have any recovery partitions that you can access?

See if you can get it to launch into a recovery mode:
Restart your computer.
As the computer is booting up Tap F8 repeatedly on the keyboard until the Advance Boot Option appears. This will start Toshiba Restore System Utility.
a. You must tap F8 before the Windows Logo appears on the screen. If the Windows logo appears then restart the process.
Click on Repair Your Computer, and then press Enter.
Select your language you wish to restore in. Then click OK.
On the “System Recovery Options Screen” click Restore Application.
Follow the onscreen instructions.
A prompt should appear asking to begin. Click on the Full Factory Recovery.
Click Next to continue.
Follow the onscreen instructions, which will guide you throughout the restore process.
Once finished, click the Finish button.
The computer will now restart.
If it refuses to boot, it may be missing and a new copy of Windows will be needed:

We get the license for our CAD software through the internet. I had a way of getting the license with the restricted users in XP. I only change the security settings of a file giving the restricted users full control.

In windows 7, restricted users can no get the license from the internet even if I already changed the security settings of the files affected in the download and installation of the CAD license. Only administrators can do so.

Is there any way possible to get around the security of Windows 7?

A friend of mine's laptop gave up the ghost just after he brought a brand new hard drive!
He took the hard drive out of it, put it in a caddy in my test system, it can see the drive, but is there a way to extract the license key from it, considering there are other disks in the test system?

I have tried this but to no avail (It says it cannot find the hive!)

I copied the config folder (mentioned above) to my USB drive using Ubuntu to get access to the hard drive.
On another Windows machine, I installed MJBKF and plugged in the USB drive.
MJBKF didn't work if I pointed it to the config folder. So I thought to duplicate the directory structure it might normally see in Windows.
I created a windows folder, and then created a system32 folder in it.
I then moved the config folder into the system32 folder.
MJBKF worked fine when I pointed it to the newly-created windows folder. I was able to get my Windows XP Key!
(W7 Pro is installed on the disk that is in the caddy)
I have got a copy of Win XP on my test system, I point it to the 'caddy' drive, installed Win 7 Pro on VirtualBox, as it may have wanted the same system installed, but that didn't work!)
Any clues?

Hi There,

I reinstalled windows a few days ago and today have started noticing some popup windows that I only just realized were related to windows license.

I can't get a screenshot of the window yet, but when it comes up again I will post it, however it tells me to go here:
I used the windows key that is on the back of my computer (which is from PCSpecialist), and it has worked twice before.

I can not attempt to re-activate windows because I cant get onto control panel and I cant go start menu > right click computer > properties.
I ran a SFC check, but it said nothing was wrong. I am currently running a chkdsk.

The OS is Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, 64-bit.
Is there any more info you need?
Any help is appreciated.

We have 1 NT 4.0 server with 14 Clients on site running NT Workstation sp5 and 2 clients running W95 off site. The off site clients are not really used during office hours and so are not logged on during the day.

We use Exchange Server 5.0 and Office 97.

Now what happens is the last person in the office, what I reckon to be user number 14 including the server, gets an error message saying that there are not enough MS Exchange licenses and they are then unable to access their email.

After a root around in the License Manager I have found the following information:

Microsoft Exchange:-
Per Seat Purchased = 135
Per Seat Allocated = 9
Per Server Purchased = 22
Per Server Reached = 23

Windows NT Server:-
Per Seat Purchased = 30
Per Seat Allocated = 30
Per Server Purchased = 0
Per Server Reached = 14

Does anyone know whats going on?

Should we be Per Seat or Per Server?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Is this a first time activation or had you installed in before either on this computer or another one and now are trying to reinstall it?

If neither of the above have you changed any hardware components on your computer, in particular the motherboard or hard drive?

I found this on their web site that might be helpful:

If you change the computer or computer components or if you reinstall the computers operating system than a new product installation is required. In cases like this, you have two options how to move your License to your new or reformatted PC : - To automatically return your current activation by uninstalling iMindQ® and choosing YES in the License Deactivation dialog. With this the activation will be returned to your License info and available again for your new/reinstalled PC. Note that deactivation requires active internet connection and no firewall or proxy that can prevent the communication. Click to expand...

Since one week i've been having problems with my program licenses. They all say the same : the license is expired or my time settings have been changed.

The first time i did a system restore and everything worked correctly again.

Now i've got the same problems and i'm not able to do a system restore. I'm talking about the programs VectorWorks 12.5 and Autocad 2007 (student versions, legally purchased).

I checked my time settings obviously, and they seem to be correct. I also checked the BIOS clock and it works fine. Date and time are what they should be.

For some reason Windows is giving my programs a different date apparently. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I'm in the middle of my internship so it's crucial that these programs work.

Thanks in advance, I hope someone can help.

Kind regards,

I recently bought a new custom built pc with win xp professional pre-installed.

Shortly after I received the pc I installed a new sound card which i didn't have any problems with (although i did have to reactivate the os due to the hardware change)

Today I wanted to change / replace the icon file shell32.dll. After testing it on an older laptop that also runs windows xp, i felt confident enough to replace the file on the new computer but when trying to restart he pc after the change, i got an error message and system failure saying i would have to restore the original file.

I tried to boot the pc from the windows installation disc, to run a system repair installation. The first part (where copying the new files onto the pc) went fine, but when i got to restart to finish the installation, the process got stuck at 34 minutes left to go.

Out of curiosity i then tried to start the computer. This time i didn't get the original error message, but instead after logging into my account i got the following error:

"A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error code 0x80090019."

after which i would get logged off again.
After reading up on this problem in a couple of forums I found and tried the following:

Hello. I might have a problem. I've been on Facebook a few days now. I only joined so that I could post comments on HuffPost Canada. I hate Facebook and won't be using it for anything else. Anyway, I work on a laptop (Windows 7) at home and when I go to work I work on my other laptop, also on Windows 7, home professional I think it is. Early this morning, after posting to HuffPost successfully (via my Facebook log in), I was suddenly met with a notice that there was a security issue that I had to resolve my going to Facebook.com, which I did. I entered the captcha I was presented with and then was told that I had to send Facebook my photo ID, not including my Facebook profile image (don't have one). The msg said driver's license or similar official ID would be acceptable. That's incredible to me. Is that possible? Is it something that Facebook might do?
The first message (using PicPick and uploaded to Box.com): https://app.box.com/s/ukz3h11f5q7ijh84ufub7l4zrhsplbq8
which led to: https://app.box.com/s/4nji7ernyxojfrxc9pqdv6v39qujwa2g
Thanks in advance!

A:Facebook says there's a security problem and wants my driver's license -?

I don't use facebook either but obviously you don't want to submit the ID that they are looking for. I'm not sure if this is a phishing attempt or not.
You don't need a facebook account to comment on huffingtonpost, it just makes it easier for those that do already have one. if you go to huffingtonpost.ca and look at the top right corner you can create an account directly with the website.

Again, I have followed MSN's instructions to the letter. I reported back to them that instructions didn't work and they said they would "keep working on it" - yeah, right!

Please help.

I am a lab technician at my local college and we have a Windows 2000 server computer that runs various applications for three labs. We have both Win98 and Win2000 clients. We just installed the 2000 clients this semester, but we have been having numerous problems. My lastest problem is with drive mapping. Before we installed the new Win2000 computers, all the machines had the application drive D: mapped on all the machines and we never had any problems. But as soon as I mapped the drives on the 2000 clients, all the clients started getting errors that the number of connections to the server had reached its limit. I checked the logs on the server and it says it has been getting error with SMBserver license. I also saw that Windows 2000 pro cannot have over 10 connections max. I don't know if this has anything to do with it. Any help is greatly appreciated. The new systems are Pentium 4 2.53ghz with 512mb of ram running Windows 2000 professional.

I'm using XP-prof (SP2).
I uninstalled this program: Ulead GIF Animator.

After doing so I got this message before Windows logs me on:
A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error code: 0x80070002

I can only use windows in "save mode without network" - save mode with network does not fonction - I get the same error message when I try "save mode witkh network (A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error code: 0x80070002).

What I did to resolve the problem:
- tried to reset my system.
- tried to delete HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers

As stated in the article from Microsoft

Could not find these keys in my register.

- I checked HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices
as stated in this article from microsoft.
I found
'\DosDevices\C... to H (wich are the letters of the drives I use).
I don't really know whether this is ok.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you,

I am working on an XP machine. It allows you to log in, but the only thing that happens is this error message pops up:
"A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer.
Error code: 0x8007007e"
I cannot do anything except press Ok, but as soon as I do so, it logs me out. I cannot get to task manager, and the exact same thing happens in safe mode.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I have literally no functionality.

Hi All,

I have been struggling with this all morning and have no idea what else to do.

I got a message this morning when I tried to log into my laptop that says that A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer - Error Code - x080004005.

I decided to re-install Windows and followed your instructions but when it gets to the actually installation of windows I get a window with an error message that says -

An error has been encountered that prevents Setup from continuing.

One of the components that Windows needs to continue setup could not be installed.

Error performing inpage operation.

If you are installing from a CD there might be a problem with the disc; try cleaning the disc or using another disc.

If you are installing from the network, it is possible that not all of the files were copied correctly to your disk drive. Run the disk checking utility on your installation drive from the Recovery Consule and start set up again.

Press Okey to view the Setup log file.

What do I do now????? I can't even start in safe mode.

Please help.

Operating System:
Windows XP Professional (32-bit)
OS Version 5.01.2600 Service Pack 3
Celeron 2.40 GHz
448 MB RAM

Issue Description:

I am having a problem logging onto my Windows XP system. I am getting the error "A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error code: 0X80070002". I have found from several sources that I needed to regsvr32 files in order to make it work. The sources are the following: http://www.anetforums.com/posts.aspx?ThreadIndex=27591 **AND** http://digitalpbk.blogspot.com/2008/04/0x80070002-problem-is-preventing.html

The instructions to fix the problem were as follows:

regsvr32 licwmi.dll
regsvr32 regwizc.dll
regsvr32 licdll.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
regsvr32 msxml.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

Initially shdocvw.dll and slbcsp.dll failed with the errors: Loadlibrary("xxxxxx.dll") failed - the specified module could not be found. I enabled the cryptogaphic services and this allowed me to register the shdocvw.dll , but not the slbcsp.dll . I went to another system with the same windows xp installation and copied slbcsp.dll over and then registered it and the registration succeeded.
The problem persists.

Please consider in my resolution actions that I have checked for the files:

oembios.dat was missing so replaced it with the oembios.dat from another system with the same operating system and service packs to eliminate that problem.

I would appreciate anyone who could help me with this problem.

Hello, I can't log into Windows XP Pro. When I try. I receive the following message:

Windows Product Activiation:
A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for
this computer. Error code 0X800700C1

I CAN'T boot into "safe mode" either (all of the solutions to this problem I have found online assume I can boot in safe mode). When I try, the "safe mode" window appears. However, inside of it a window that says "USERINIT.EXE" is open and rapidly scrolling as if it where in an infinite loop.

Is there some way I can use the "Recovery Console" to delete a file and perhaps force a "Repair Install"? Would a "Repair Install" possibly fix this? I'm really in a bad situation here. Can anyone help me?

Sincerest of thanks, -Rob

Your licence comes with the CD for home users i think it's only in business where you can buy extra licences so you would have to buy another version of XP to get a license for your new Comp. i beleive that is how it is i'm not 100% sure.

I'm trying to install Windows XP on my Eee PC 1005HA. It originally came with Windows 7 but someone (sigh) erased it, and my License key number on the bottom is unreadable due to wear. I had a Toshiba Satellite A30 which sadly was dropped on the floor a few years ago and became unusable, but I preserve its License number, which is on the bottom. However, I know that it won't work with any Windows XP CD, so I wanted to know how I would go about to installing it. I don't have any installation disks from the Toshiba, just two product recoveries (parts 1 & 2) and a Tools and Utilities one.

Thank you very much in advance

A:How to get a CD for my License Key

OK. I think I understand what's going on here.
99.9% of brand name computers come with OEM versions of Windows installed. That means that the license is forever tied to the computer it's installed on. Sure you could borrow any XP CD that's the same version (Home, Pro) to install the Windows software, then attempt to use your Toshiba's XP product key on your 1005HA, but authorization would fail and in 30 days the computer would fail to boot.

Q: license

The license cannot be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.
To download a license, you must install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later. To install the latest version of Internet Explorer, see the
windows update page .    does this mean i cant get it with any other browser  ?, because plain and simple the problems i have had with internet explorer I will never
download that again, the same goes with WMP I try playing music and it tells me my library is corrupt so I cleared it and re-loaded it same problem. and so I now use foobar2000, VLC JRiver, and media monkey depending on what I am playing and what format and
have never had a problem with any of them
