impossible uninstall

Q: impossible uninstall

I'm attaching a pic of this application SnagIt7 which has no disinstallation mode, I'd like to uninstall this application, I tried with MyUninstaller, I tried in other ways but nothing.
What do you guys suggest me?

Preferred Solution: impossible uninstall

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: impossible uninstall

Have you tried going into C:\program files\Snagit? You can delete the program directly from the program files directory or wherever it may have installed (program files is the standard). If its currently running, kill it from the cntrl-alt-del menu and delete the entire folder from programs. If you get access denied and either cant kill the process or dont know what it is, start in safe mode and delete it from the directory.

Since some days I have a problem with my antivirus F-Secure.
When I rightclick with the mouse on an object on my pc it takes ca 20 sec to open the menu and when i choose the option "scan...for virus" nothing happens. I tried to make a virus-scan but also there when i click on "scan" nothing happens. I thought then that maybe i need to uninstall f-secure and reinstall it (or use AVG instead that i like better) but i dont even manage to uninstall it!!
When i go to the control panel to uninstall it it says "uninstall failed!".
I tried to do it in Safe Mode (F8) but i got the same results there!

What should i do?
I really would like to disintall it! And should i download AVG AntiVirus anyway from the net? Because im afraid i get viruses now when f-secure doesnt really work. Or is it bad to have 2 anti-virus softwares installed together?

I hope you can help me with that problem!

A:Impossible To Uninstall F-secure!

Hi There,

I would try to disable all instances of it from autostarting when you boot your PC. Then restart, and try and remove it. It more than likely would not let you uninstall it because some aspect of it was running.

Press - Windows Key+R - to bring up the "Run" applet, type in "services.msc" (without quotes) to bring up the Services applet. Locate all the listings for F-Secure, Right-Click each one, and choose Properties.

In the drop down menu, change the Startup type: to "Disabled".

You may also want to check this to:

Press - Windows Key+R - for the Run applet, type "msconfig" (without quotes) Under the "Services" and "Startup" tabs, make sure all listings for F-Secure are unticked.

Now you should be able to restart your PC, and Uninstall it.

You can download AVG before the above process, just don't run the installation until you uninstall F-Secure.

Hope This Helps,

About a month ago I downloaded and installed DivX, LLC Film and Video playing software because it was the only source I could find to view a documentary that I'd recently seen on satellite TV.

Since then my system, and especially the graphics side of things have been very unstable, and I cannot find a way to uninstall the DivX Software, which I believe is the cause of my problems.

Incidentally, from SUPERAntiSpyware v4.50.1002, this apparently is the Software Command Line file;

C:\ProgramData\DivX\Setup\DivXSetup.exe /uninstall /bundleGroupId divx.com

I've checked the file location but cannot see any file that appears to be an 'uninstall' file, and so far I have tried to uninstall the software through the following means, but not one method has yet been able to do a successful uninstall;

Windows Control Panel> Programs and Features> Click on appropriate line entry>

but not a thing happens.

CCleaner [Run as Administrator]>Tools> Uninstall> Run Uninstaller,

However the links contain a uninstaller, Revo-uninstaller! You may have heard of it, you may have tried it.
If not give it a try. The other link contains similar questions from a Tech support forum. Which may hold a clue.

For the past day or so, my computer has been running very slow, and most open programs are experiencing long pauses and "hang time" (firefox in particular appears to stop responding very often, usually correcting itself within 30 seconds to a minute). Now this morning, Spyware Doctor is blocking the opening of a variety of programs, saying it is trying to access "Trojan.Virtumonde". When I try to uninstall said programs, I get the same message from Spyware Doctor, and the uninstall action is blocked. I dragged one program's files to the recycle bin (not emptying the bin afterward) and attempted to reinstall, but once again, Spyware Doctor displayed the same message and blocked the install attempt. I have run a full system scan on Spyware Doctor, Malwarebytes' Anti-Maleware, Adaware, Spybot, and Norton Internet Security 2009 (all of which are fully updated) to no avail. I searched all files and folders on my C drive (and both external hard drives) for "trojan.virtumonde" and just "virtumonde" and found nothing. Please help. My Hijack This file is below.

Many months ago I installed the Simple Software-Restriction Policy on my computer to improve my security, and for a while it worked OK except that I had to turn it off whenever I wanted to update my antivirus software. That has been annoying and a bit worrying but I put up with it.

This is the program (it was recommended originally by somebody on this forum):

Yesterday AVG found a trojan had infected part of the program. After removal of that, I decided to uninstall the software policy, but it is IMPOSSIBLE.
The system tray icon that used to let me temporarily turn off the program (to install and uninstall things) is gone. Gone from the system tray, apparently gone from my machine. It is now impossible to install or uninstall any program, or to update my antivirus, at all, EVER. I cannot get rid of this horrible "security" abomination. The settings .ini file does not have any option for regaining the sytem tray icon. I tried moving the uninstaller into my Program Files, but it still won't uninstall. Windows Add or Remove Programs can't run the uninstaller.

The MLSoftwarePolicyTrayApplet shortcut is in my startup folder, but softwarepolicy.exe which it points to is GONE. It's as though the program PERMANENTLY destroyed my computer's ability to install anything, and then deleted itself (or AVG deleted it) so it can NEVER be fixed. My computer is completely... When I click on Change/Remove in my Add/Remove Programs Menu....I get a pop-up with a message at the top that says:  "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is not available."......to the right of this statement it has two boxes that offer the options of OK or Cancel....then beneath that statement it says:  "Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'AcroRead.msi in the box below'....".....then there is a window under that that says "use source" above it and "Browse" to the right with the following typed into it:  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Setup\{AC76BA86-7AD7-1033-7B44-AB0000000001}\

A:Uninstall Adobe Reader XI (11.0.6) won't uninstall/remove pop-up loop persists

Hello, and welcome to Bleeping Computer.
The error is occuring because the installer is looking for files in a temp folder that are no longer there.
Extra care is needed with this tool. Download Microsoft Installer Cleanup.  Run it in an admin account and only select Adobe Reader XI if it is in the list (If it is not in the list exit out) and then press the remove button making absolutely sure no other programs other than Adobe Reader is selected. Then I would try reinstalling Adobe Reader again.
I would recommend that you do not constantly uninstall and install the program.

Hiya and welcome to Tech Support Guy

Are you still having this problem? If so, lets start with running the following tools:
Download Security Check from here.
Save it to your Desktop.
Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so imme... Read more

I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
I was having problems installing a program (Berlitz German Premier) where the install would just disappear halfway thru the process. A program would not appear under my programs list but when I went to Uninstall an icon for uninstall of the Berlitz software appears for each time I tried to install it. However I get the following error messages (see attached document with screen captures) when I tried to delete it the traditional way.
When I use Windows Install Clean Up utility, the program is nowhere to be found on the list; thus I can't use that program.
Any suggestions for how to get this program removed?

I installed Arduino software, part of which included installing a number of drivers. I uninstalled the software using the internal software uninstall feature. Apparently it removed the drivers, but for some reason they still show up in the Windows install/uninstall list. I try to uninstall them using the Windows uninstaller, but I get an error stating that the drivers are not there (at that address). The problem is, I cannot re-install the drivers, because for some reason they still show as being installed by the Windows installer and the software refuses to re-install.

So, how do I remove a file name from the install/uninstall list on Windows 10? A file name for a file that is already deleted?

A:Cannot Uninstall Drivers from Install/Uninstall List - Windows 10

Hi, Geek uninstaller (free) offers a range of removal options if you right click an entry.

However, you may have parts of the program left over.

1. Does the program's site offer a manual uninstaller or uninstall instruction?
2. Check the various folders that may have been created when you installed it for leftovers.
(Try Locate32 (free) - let it index all your files then you can quickly check for anything related to the name of your program on a find-as -you-type basis).
If you find any exe's left over, then use
Revo (free)
to force uninstall these.

Your problem will be knowing if anything is left over that you don't want.

Finally you can search the registry.
Try Regscanner (free) as this lists all found unlike Regedit which is 1 by 1.

Create a system restore point or back up your registry and delete remnants.

Good luck!

Hello. Just got new computer and before I continue to download more software, specifically software for fijitsu scanner, I want to know if I should uninstall one of my HP drivers that randomly causes printer to get error lights flashing when I try to print via "HP Universal PCL 6" printer icon, then printer turns itself off, then works ok. A few HP drivers seem to be installed.
The info: win 7 pro 64 bit
The steps taken. 1) Installed HP Laserjet 3015 PCL 5 driver from HP site. Icon for printer says "HP Lserjet 3015 PCL 5". Worked ok.
2) Noticed that my older pc had a PCL 6 driver and so installed this because I figured this is what some of my older software programs needed to print. I think I installed it incorrectly from HP site because I think I forgot to start with printer unplugged. Also, not sure I picked the proper choices on screen (e.g., standard vs. dynamic option). It seemed to work fine for a few days with the "HP Universal PCL 6" as the default driver. Then it started to cause printing problems at random times when I tried to print.
3) Went back in and selected "HP Laserjet 3015 PCL 5" as default printer. Seems to be working again, but of course it has been only a day.
QUESTION: Given that I've heard uninstalling HP drivers can be funky, should I just leave the universal PCL 6 on it and just keep the PCL 5 selected as default printer OR should I uninstall the driver. Also, what is the best way to uninstall the driver s... Read more

A:Qu re: to uninstall or not uninstall hp driver laserjet 3015

Nothing really funky about uninstalling HP drivers. I would probably uninstall the drivers you don't want just to keep the system clean rather then clutter it with multiple print drivers.

Now there is a specific PCL6 driver for that printer, aside from the Universal PCl6 driver you have already installed, its located here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=lj-22043-3

Hey guys it's me again with my annoying and those that seem to be impossible-to-fix-problems.

Well 3 months ago i bought an AMD 5600+ Dual Core and i had lots of problems since then, believing it was defective, i wrote to AMD support and requested an RMA. My replacement arrived today. It fixed LOTS of random crashes and my computer was able to boot up properly with both rams placed on in dual channel. I went to play on Soulstorm, it crashed, sometimes half way through a game or sometimes about 5 minutes into the game. I went on another game which is Company of Heroes, it crashed too.

The only reason i tested these 2 games was because they crashed most of the times when i had the defective processor.I thought it was the RAM but i thought it wouldn't make any sense because while waiting for my replacement to arrive, i put in my old AMD Athlon 3500+ and it worked fine with EVERY SINGLE games so it couldn't be the RAM and it can't be the replacement either. Not knowing what else to do, i took one stick of ram out, and guess what? It worked like a charm ! I really have no idea what's going on inside but if anyone had been through this or anyone who knows how to fix please help and....ermm if it works you'll be able to rest assured that a person on earth is grateful and just wants to kill you with hugs XD

Can anyone make sense of this? How did this copy come to be working on this computer?

I'm currently wanting to do a clean install but I can't because I can't workout what happened in the past

A:How is this even impossible?

Sounds like you may have an OEM System Builder versions of Windows 8. It is intended to be installed by someone or a company building a new computer that is to be resold. That particular version includes a personal use license which allows anyone to buy an OEM System Builder copy of the software and install it on a (new or old) PC that is intended for personal use. It should have come with an installation key.

Here is some more information on the ZDnet web site.

I have a folder in my external terabyte that appeared some time ago. I can not delete it with any software. I tried to delete with DOS and it says all the same. The problem is that it will not let me downgrade it to a write-able format. It seems to be locked in READ ONLY status. I have attempted to take ownership of the drive and the files, but I can not get rid of it. When I first noticed it, it was random letters. When I tried to delete the file it turned into many many "Z's". When I ran the DOS delete protocol it changed into 6 "Z's"; with in that folder is a empty folder called "Update". Since then I have not been able to do anything about it. I don't know what to do. I even downloaded a program called Delete on Boot, and still no success. I have been coming here for about a year when I caught the Rogue Internet Security 2010. It was since then, 12/30/09 the day that i reformatted to yield to the virus's victory that the file first appeared in the external hard drive. I am wits end and I know someone out there can help me. Please tell me what to do. I was told that it was very complex and destructive hack file. Am I infected again?

Is there any way to stop Virtu Monde popups? Somehow, I have become infected. Nothing seems to stop this creature. I have NIS installed. It doesn't help. I have Windows Defender installed. It doesn't help. My settings are set to block all popups. It doesn't help. Spyware Doctor will remove Virtu Monde a hundred times a day, but it always keeps comming back. I don't want to remove Virtu Monde a hundred times a day. I want to stop it from placing popups on my computer in the first place. Is this possible. If so, how do I do it?

Thank you in advance,

A:Is this impossible?

Hello likekinds

Spyware Doctor is not cleaning it all out.

The only way to totally get rid of it is by using HijackThis

You should post a HijackThis log. The experts on the forum there will clean it all up for you

Read the Red sticky at the top first

Do all you can from the instructions. If you can`t run something just miss it out and post the log anyway with a brief description of your problem

Hello, i have changed my old HDD to a SSD(Kingston hyperX fury 240GB, controller SandForceŽ SF-2281). I have tried to install windows 7, windows 10 and debian but i have always the same problem, when the install reboot to finish it, it impossible to boot from the SSD. My opinion is the controller is incompatible with my pc(HP pavilion dv6-7045ez). I have found crucial.com which say all ssd compatible with dv6-7XXX series(http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/pavilion-dv6-7xxx-series-%28intel-ddr...). Can i trust it? Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english, it's not my native langage.

I'm having real problems with this and the guides online cover different parts but don't work.
1. I have windows xp
2. I want to install windows 7 64 bit
3. I do not have a dvd, it's on an external HDD
4. I want to instal windows 7 on a 2nd HDD and dual boot.

My first problem is that I get the 'We are unable to create or save new files in the folder which the application was downloaded'. Apparently this is because its 64 bit and I'm in XP. I need to boot from the USB drive and load the windows disk from there? Is that right? How do I do that without my normal XP booting? Can I boot from the USB and install on to the 2nd HHD?

A step by step approach would be amazing if someone could talk me through it? If it's not possible I can buy a blank dvd and burn it and remove my other HDDs, but that's a real pain.

Any help would be great

Hey Hey - Happy Holidays all!!

Got a machine running XP Home SP1 and it started having strange IE problems, like not displaying backgrounds on some sites [they were mostly php Nuke sites]; then it started crashing all the time when going to Windows Update site. Then started crashing all the time unpredictably and couldn't find a pattern.

No virus [Norton clean], no spyware or adware [Webroot SpySweeper clean]
Tried reinstalling XP but to no avail
Tried to install SP2 in hopes that it would over write problems, BUT it WILL NOT install - - goes for a while and then just stops - - no messages, nothing, just stops install - attempted it 4 times and got a partial install is all; had to uninstall that.

Any ideas? Please!!

Thanks all and have happy, healthy holidays

A:IE impossible to solve? What else can I try?

I don't have XP so I have no first hand knowledge of it. However, you will find links to articles about failed SP2 installs in this list;http://www.scotsnewsletter.com/best_of/xpsp2links.htm

As for your original IE problem, I wonder if you can still try to 'repair' IE like you could in the older OS's?. To do it, you went to Add/Remove, selected IE to uninstall, and then were given the option to repair it.

Assuming that is still possible in XP, I am not saying it will help your problem because I just don't know.

I have a Gateway Laptop that is 5 years old. I rarely use it, but like to be able to use it outside or in bed when I'm bedridden (disabled). For 3 months now I cannot got on line with it. My desktop works fine, which is connected to a wireless Netgear router from BrightHouse (roadrunner). They've been to the house 10 times and successfully get it up and running, but if I shut it down for and hour or more the same thing happens. I can't get on line with a message that I have limmited or no connectivity. It seems to have something to do with loosing my network key and IP address. Since this is from Bright House I assumed they could fix it. I even paid $170 to a tech support team who got it up and running only to loose the connection again a few hours later. There must be a solution for this problem, I just can't find anyone who can fix it. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for your time.

Hey guys,
I've got a really weird issue and and to be honest am running out of ideas. I was infected with the claro malware this past week which was easy enough to clear up and is completely gone. I noticed this past day that Im pulling a wrong network configuration:
Host IP - (not actual) on my laptop
DHCP server -
Default Gateway -
My DNS servers are correct, my usual scope is 192.168.0.x and gateway of
I can access the internet like usual without issue but can't rdp to any LAN pc's (obviously because of the subnet)
I did a netsh int ip reset command without any success and am kind of at a loss of what to do.
The claro maleware may have nothing to do with it but since it has to do with network settings I figured it was definitely a possibility but it is definitely 100% gone, all of my network settings should be reset to default, I definitely do not have any rogue DHCP servers on my network even though with the default gateway being wrong and still having access to the internet I don't see how that could be it anyway. If any one has any ideas I would be extremely grateful.

Thank You

Hello guys,
I have a very frustrating problem and i really can't imagine any way to solve it without help. The problem is quite simple to explain : I simply can't downlaod anything "big".
let's check details. I have two browsers, Ie and Firefox. I ve been using firefox for years but i recently bought a new comp, and Ie came along with vista.
Whenever i try to download a "big file" with firefox, let's say a game's patch, i recieve an error message after 2-3 minutes saying that the dowlaod will stop because the source file will not be read.
if i try with Ie after about the same amount of time i got an error message saying that the time allocated to the operation has been...

As you imagine this is already frustrating enough in itself, but today i discovered that the problem had somehow extended to streaming, i cannot load any file completely...

my config is brand new from A to Z, so i really don't know where to look for.

Any Idea ?

A:Impossible to download anything

Does your Internet keep dropping (Are you on wireless or something?).

Your topic suggests you can't download "anything", yet below you say you have trouble downloading "anything big". I'm assuming you can download small files?

You could always try using a download manager rather than using your browser to download the files. Search the forums for a thread on download managers if you want to find out more.

Leechget is what i use at present.

This is probably not the right place to ask, but does anyone know of a simple way of saving to a file in My Documents (for later burning) a piece of music that's playing on my computer from a CD in the drive or something downloaded from the net?

Ideally I'm looking to have a software icon in my taskbar which I can click to start recording something I'm listening to on my computer.

I would really appreciate any help with this.

A:The Impossible Dream? Is It?

There are applications that can do this. One that I know of is Virtual Audio Cable. I've used it and it works well, but it cost's $30.A free alternative may be the LineIn Plugin for WinAmp, though I've never tried it.Please note that using such applications for copyright infringement is a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (in the USA) and/or equivalent national laws outside the USA.

Hello people, I came to this forum in rage. This is so weird i can't help but scratch my head and watch in awe. Here's the deal:

Like most people here i have some sort of an internet black-out problem. My event log is full of error's considering DHCP unavailability and other connection problems. But this is just the tip of the iceberg. I reinstalled windows 7 Ultimate x64 two times, formated the disks 3 times each installation JUST in case, and when i start surfing on an absolutely CLEAN install the connection error pops up. Event Viewer says that the computer tries to connect to a dns server but apparently is timed out. I started safe mode with networking, and there was no problem. How the hell is this possible? Safe Mode with Net is no probs, clean instal, even with no drivers gives cutts me off the net! The other weird thing is that when this happens, i can't acces the Network and Sharing center,or anything that lists my adaptor! I can't even shut down the computer cuz it freezes during the shutdown process. From my research it appears that it's still hailing in hope to recieve an IP from the DHCP server. So i tried many method's i found in similar posts around the forums. Here's the list of things i did:

After seeing that safe mode runs internet with no problem (or maybe it didn't, i ran in safe mode for about 30-40 minutes,so i'm not 100% positive),while the clean install doesn't, i though it was because of the drivers.Updated them with the newest ones. There was no pro... Read more
