Lenovo Legion Y730. Low performance in games after returning from sleeping state.

Q: Lenovo Legion Y730. Low performance in games after returning from sleeping state.

So. After I wake up the laptop performance in games is so poor. I suppose the laptop starts to use Intel integrated graphics card instead of nVidia's one. But i'm not sure.Performance drop for example on Apex legends from 100 FPS to 20 FPS in the main menu.I use 430.39 driver from official nVidia site.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

hey everyone, well. i will lay off ALL the previous problems that the laptop came with (such as an unplugged touchpad, a broken charger and an absolutely horrific repairs i got).my cpu seems to work at only 0.79 ghz and doesnt go up.  rarely it goes to 1.6 ghz. when unplugged.when i plug it in it seems to work around 2.2 which seems normal but as soon as i start putting some load it just drops down. only thing which solves it for a cuple of minutes is if i go unto bios and load default settings then boot into windows, only then i get the boost speed of 4 ghz. temps are pretty normal (laptop is repasted witharctic mx4).alldrivers installed windows 10.what can i do guys really dont know.....

First of all I am sorry for my english but i don't know what to do.I've bought new lenovo legion y520 laptop month or two ago (with i5-7300HQ, GTX 1050 2 GB VRAM, 6 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD) and my gaming experience is pretty bad so far.I tried some games and my fps are the same like on my old desktop PC (more than 6 years old) with i3-2130, amd radeon HD7770 1 GB VRAM and 8 GB RAM. I've tested for example Assassin's creed black flag (same settings on both devices) and my fps were nearly the same on both (around 45 FPS).Then I've tried Battlefield 3, Subnautica and few other games but my biggest issue is with Star Wars Battlefront 2. I checked the minimal system requirements and I should be able to run it quite well atleast on low settings but the game is stuttering so terribly. It is unplayable. But my old PC that don' t enven have minimum requirements runs it better and pretty smooth with MSI afterburner keepin fps at 30-50.I didn' t expect any wonders from this laptop (smooth 40 fps is fine for me) but I've expected that I'll be able to play atleast some older games pretty well. The question is: Is it normal or something is not allright with my laptop?I tried installing all drivers from lenovo website (install them manually), reinstall windows 10, celan install windows 10, find newest Nvidia drivers, change graphic driver settings but nothing helped.I've also noticed that while playing star wars battlefornt 2 on old desktop my graphic card usage is quite stable but while playing o... Hello, I have a problem with my Legion y520, generally after some problem with USB the Lenovo service change the motherboard for the new one. After this the problem with the games started. When I play any game (from steam, gog galaxy, epic games and so on), after some time the game shutdown without any warning or a small stop (up to 5sec - don?t respond to any actions). The amount of time after which the problem occure differ from 5min to even a 30min. The system don?t generate any crash reports so it is hard to check what is going on. Additionally this problem occurred after the change of motherboard in the laptop (before everything was OK). I carried on test for GPU (FurMark) the maximum temperature that the sensor registered was 71 after 15min of test. I used a Lenovo Vantage for the hardware scan and everything was OK. I have updated all the software and honestly I don?t know what to do next. I bought this laptop for the purpose of playing and I can?t do it. I work on win 10 64 and the hardware specification is below:Intel core i7-7700HQ CPU 2,8GHz16GB Ram GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050Ti 4GB (second one Intel HD Graphics 630 ? integrated)SSD 250GB All best

Lenovo Legion Legion Y520  running windows 10 I am connected to a Sony TV by HDMI.  When I use the TV as the only display or as an extended display the image is downscaled to 720p.  If I clone the display from my laptop it will render full 1080p. All of the settings I can find appear to be correct.  The laptop says that it is displaying 1920x1080.  I would like to get the TV to work as primary display.  I know it is not the TV.  It can display the cloned desktop and works properly for game consoles also using HDMI.  I have tried using different HDMI ports on the TV.

It seems Lenovo doesn't even remember (or is playing revisionist history tricks) that they made the Ideapad Y730.  Looking around the support pages, NOTHING will turn up any reference to the Y730.  There are no drivers, etc to be found  on this site.  I have tried searching by the two different serial numbers taht show up in BIOS, and they can't manage to find themby those either.  And forget about their "automatic" lookup utility; it will sit there spinning for ***HOURS*** (yes, I left it to run overnight once) and can't manage to even START finding anything.  Their site is severely broken.Even trying the so-called-"support" line, the "tech" couldn't find the machine by S/N either, and kept insisting it couldn't be that number.  Well, if it's the wrong number (on the sticker *as well as* the BIOS), then it's Lenovo that got that wrong. So what's the story?  Are they trying to deny the product?  Did they fubar this one worse than usual that they have to pretend it never existed?

In addition, it often says it can't start the screen saver before it goes to sleep (probably not related, but who knows... thought I'd mention it). I keep forgetting to write down which error it displays, if it happens before it's resolved, I'll make sure to do so.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I sort of panic bought this PC a while ago out of necessity. I fear it's been a waste of money, though it has gotten me through thus far.

Problem description: I went to New Mexico last week and when I came back my wireless
connection won't work with my modem anymore. When I got back here I got online one time and ever since then I couldn't get on anymore, it just kicks me off every program saying I'm connected but nothing actually loads or works. Last time this happened it was from an attack but after changing the ip it started working. I'm using McAfee and ZoneAlarm at the moment so it probably has something to do with them. The fix seems so simple but I'm clueless when it comes to wireless and have no idea what to do. I've tried resetting the modem with no luck either. Also when I connect with just regular cat5 it works fine, it's just at my house we use wireless and it doesn't seem to work with it.

Attempted fixes: I've reset the modem and tried changing my ip address using ipconfig

/release and /renew. I've also tried doing a rollback with no success.

Recent changes: Zonealarm and McAfee automatically update themselves so I tried doing a

rollback to a couple past dates with no luck.

System specs: Gateway MX6436 Notebook.

I just received a second-hand system and I am wondering if I can reset it to factory condition, before passing it on, retaining Windows, but removing all the former user's files and tweaks, file by file. System info is below. On my Acer this was a simple keyboard command, but I have not been able to find a command for this Dell.

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional

A:Returning Dell Computer to Factory State

You might contact Dell and see if you can get a set of recovery disks from them. You will need your model number and the service tag number on the machine. If this is a desk top the service tag is probably behind the door on the front where the USB ports are.

I've attached the SF diagnostic files that have the blue screen. 90% of them are for driver power state failure with ntoskrnl.exe being the culprit. I'm not really concerned with the others. There's going to be BSOD, I just want to stop the majority of them.

This is almost always caused by having the computer sleep. User can close the lip on their laptop or just walk away so it auto-sleeps and it will have crashed when they come back to use it. I've gone through the forum and see that a lot of the BSOD are related to sleep/awake crashes.

Thanks everyone. This forum is great

This pops up different ads in a new tab periodically.
Multiple attempts have been made to clean it.
I tried MBAM, ADWCleaner, etc and uninstalling and re-installing Chrome. I have tried to get help on these forums also but it still persists.

A:Total Ad Performance persistently returning in Chrome.

Download and run wipe  and system ninja,
Go ahead and install ccleaner Now that you have the program installed go ahead and run the cleaner function.
Now that you have cleaned out some temp files, lets go ahead and disable all of the items starting up with your machine except your antivirus. To do this you will need to click on tools then start up select each item then disable.
Now that you have disabled those un-needed start ups lets go into the settings, we will have Ccleaner run when your machine boots, so that you will never have to worry about cleaning temp files again. To do this:
Hit options.
Place a tick to run Ccleaner when the computer starts.

Now go to the advanced tab, and select close program after cleaning, now run the cleaner again this will close Ccleaner.
Reboot your machine and then follow the  instructions below.
Step 1: eScanAV.
Disable your antivirus prior to this scan.

Good Afternoon,

I'd appreciate any help that I could receive for this issue. I'd like to preface this post by mentioning that I have searched these and other forums about this issue and have found people that have had similar problems, but I don't think they are explaining things properly/as clearly as they could be. I'm hoping that I could give a little more incite into what's happening.

My laptop has Windows 7 Ultimate x64. The power options are set to "High Performance" which means that the system never goes to "Sleep" whether it is plugged in or not. However, the display is set to "Turn Off" at 5 minutes on battery or 10 minutes while plugged in.

Here is the issue: After my system's display has "Turned Off" due to inactivity, I will hit a key or move my mouse to bring the display back. Sometimes (not all the time), the laptop display will remain inactive. However, I do have two external displays hooked up. When this problem occurs, I can see my cursor on the two external displays.

Now, in most posts, people say they fix the problem by restarting their computer. I've found a different fix that doesn't require a restart. I'm able to log into the system while the screen is still off (ctrl+alt+del, type in password, press enter). Once logged in, I can see my desktop on the two external screens, but not on my laptop's native display. I then hit ctrl+alt+del, and my laptop's native display returns from it's off state. I pr... A:Laptop Display Remains Off When Returning From "Turn Off" State

I've continued to see this issue. And my assumption was wrong - it doesn't rely on locking my computer. I have come back to my system after the display has turned off, shook the mouse, and the two external monitors come back, but the laptop display does not. The only thing I can think of doing at this point is to turn off the option where the monitors "turn off" after so long, even though that seems like such a waste. Maybe I'll see something funky when I do that though. If anyone has any thoughts, they would be very appreciated.

Then, when I try to wake it, the screen will remain blank, and I have to hard reboot. I am perplexed as to what is causing this issue. CPU and memory usage seem fine. I've tried multiple reboots. Please let me know if you've encountered this before. I'm at my wit's end since nothing has changed since yesterday. Thanks. - Archana
