Lenovo B50-30 All-in-One died today

Q: Lenovo B50-30 All-in-One died today

16 month old Lenovo B50-30 All-in-One - Type F0AU00CLUS powered off abruptly whilst in use today and refuses to power on. No activity except a light in the power switch. I've tried unplugging, waiting, holding the power button whilst unplugged, holding the power button whilst plugged in. The machine refuses to power on, it won't POST, there is no "beep", there are no fan noises and no hard drive spinning up. Of course it's about 16months old and out of warranty. This computer has been lightly used as a family PC with only an hour per day on it at most. No heavy duty applications, no over heating/over-clocking. Completely disappointed that it would die like this. I've built PCs from parts before so if there are any diagnostics or known issues with easy fixes I'd be fine to try those out. What are my options and what kind of support should I expect from Lenovo?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have included as much info about my computer that I could think of for you. I am sure that I've missed alot info you need, so Please ask me and I'll get it right to you. Here is the info....I bought my computer new 16 months ago, it is a E-Machine desktop model, we have High-Speed Internet on it, when I purchased it, it already had Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 installed on it. Probably about 6 to 8 months before the final performance, I noticed it gradually getting slower and slower. We ran AVG 9.0 on it with scheduled scans daily. I never opened any mail that I didn't know and I never visited any porn sites or chat rooms either. Then one day I started it up and used it without any issues for about 3 hours and then it just froze up and would not respond to the mouse clicks. I restarted it, it took forever to restart, but when it finally came back on, it got as far as the "Welcome" screen, asked me for my password, but when I typed the password into the box, nothing was happening on the screen. I tried different keyboards and different mice too, but had the same out come every time.I tried over a hundred times to start it in "Safe Mode" but got the same results, and I was never able to get it into "Safe Mode". Since I bought it with Vista already on it, I have no disk and can't afford to buy one either. I am a middle beginner at being computer friendly. But I can follow directions well. I am on a fixed and very low income and would like to try a... Read more

I have had this Linksys WRT54G for a number of years now and today it decided to die on me whilst I was at work.

my laptop wireless wasnt picking it up for some reason, endless reboots of the laptop and flicking the wireless switch on and off on the laptop... i then decided to look at the router. the only light that was on was the power!

so.. i disconnected the power, waited a minute, plugged it back in, all the lights were on (the power, LAN 1 and internet as well as wireless). I thought... ok cool we are back in business.

when I tried to find the router again... still no go. then I connected it via wire and it gives an invalid IP (a private IP).
my wireless router is "bridged" to another router which is a SKY router which has internet access. That all works but not my Linksys router

is my router truly gone?

it was fine all this time, and last night... then today for whatever reason.... boof!

Hey there everyone, hope you are having a great day! So my P71 was delivered on June 12 and today it was sitting on my desk, where it had been for DAYS, I wiggled the mouse to resume it from sleep. The computer flashed into windows for a VERY brief instant and then completely died and the screen went black.  I immediately unplugged the laptop from the charger and tried to turn it on, the keyboard and power buttons light up like everything is working perfectly  but the screen remains totally black and then a very loud series of about 5 beeps comes out of the laptop. These beeps are arranged almost like a song. Then nothing happens and the computer remains black. I have to hold the power button to get it to turn off from this state. Called support and they went through some "battery in, battery out, charger in and shake it all about " but to no avail. Didn't opt for any kind of extended warranty on this laptop. I've been treating it like a new born child; it is 3 times more expensive than any other laptop I have ever owned... I can't believe that I finally decided to purchase a professional grade product and this has happened after only 5 weeks of ownership AND such "babying" of the product. Phone support told me that the beep code I am hearing is something to do with the motherboard or memory, but I didn't touch anything from my original config and have caused NO CONCIEVABLE damage or stress to this machine in any way. All updates from L... Read more

I am not good with computers, so that is out of the way.

I have an HP Pavilion dm1 Notebook PC with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Earlier today I was downloading a patch to the game League of Legends, however, it was failing so I restarted the computer.

The next thing I knew, the computer could no longer connect to the internet. I have been using the troubleshooter, occasionally it says "The default gateway is not available."

I have tried following instructions from one other forum, which in a nutshell was going to Start>Control Panel>View Network Status and Tasks>Manage Wireless Networks> and deleting everything in that list.

Thank you.

I was internet browsing when out of no where I got a blue screen of death with the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error. This has happened before so I thought no big deal, it'll finish doing its thing and restart. NOPE. It shut off at about 20% through the process and wouldn't turn back on. It was running Windows 10.Any ideas on how to revive it?Also, I bought it on Amazon during cyber Monday of 2014. Anyone know how long the warranties on these things last? Thanks!

A:Lenovo Y50 Died

Hi jgraves12, Kind of unsual for it to shutoff and not able to turn it on all of a sudden. Does it have no signs of life at all? No lights on any of the indicator. If that's the case there are couple of things you can try.? Remove AC adapter, press and hold power button for 30 secs, replug AC adapter, turn it on using Power Button/Novo Button (Button beside the power button). If you're able to turn it on using Novo Button, go to Normal Startup.? Test with a different AC adapter, make sure you charged it for more than an hour, or test the AC adapter on a different computer, see if it will charge.   Hope this will be helpful.

We have a Lenovo ThinkCentre desktop computer, running Windows 7 Professional. It's a few years old, and for the most part has been running fine. However, it has now inexplicably died and won't come on again.

We've been having a few blackouts and brownouts lately. It's not one of those computers that stays off when the power returns; if it was set to 'on' when the power went out, it'll start back up once the power returns.

A couple of days ago, it had gone into standby or sleep mode, and for some reason wouldn't come out of it. The laser mouse wasn't lit up, which often happens when a computer is in standby mode, but when I hit keys on the keyboard, it still didn't come on. After opening and closing the disc drive, and pushing the power button a couple of times, I finally gave up and held the button until it force shut-down. The next time it was turned on, however, it worked fine, and didn't seem to exhibit any unusual behavior.

So yesterday, the computer was working. It was left running overnight, as it generally is. The following morning, however, it was no longer on. Pushing the power button yields no power lights or sound of anything running. I unplugged it from the surge protector, then plugged it back in again, choosing a different plug on the surge protector. Still nothing. It shouldn't be an issue with the surge protector itself, as the monitor and internet router connected to it work. I don't think there was an outage, either, because no clocks were reset.... Read more

The Power Supply Unit may have failed. This is a relatively easy fix if you get the part. Any PSU over 550Watts will do. If that doesn't fix it, you can always return the part.

4 year old laptop wasn't charging properly, it was being very fussy about the exact position of the power cable in the socket. It has what looks like a pretty common power connector for lenovo, which is a USB sized hole with a single centre pin. I looked into the laptop socket and saw that as well as the conductor for the centre pin and the outer sides, there was also 4 little tines on each side between the centre and the edge which were clearly all bent off in wrong directions (looked like an old toothbrush inside) I'm guessing the centre pin is +ve, the tines are -ve and the outer connections are just mechanical/shielding. I straightened these all out with a pencil but I think I must have momentarily shorted something as now the laptop shows absolutely no signs of life when I hit the power button. Tried various tricks I've read online about various sequencies of hitting the power button with the battery in and out but no luck. The laptop was fully charged before I started this, but I didn't disconnect the battery before starting which I probably should have. So I'm guessing I've shorted the power rails on that connector. What damage have I likely done? I'm amazed that there can be a design where very flimsy pins inside an external connector which are clearly easily bent can cause such damage if they touch another pin 2mm away from them. Is there any way to save this laptop? If it's a case of replacing an SMD fuse soldered onto the motherboard I can do th... Read more

Called Lenovo Software support division today (1/9/14) - advised by more than one tech there not to do the free 8.1 upgrade at present time -they've been getting 'distress' calls by those who have done the upgrade with various problems as a result thereof & that required drivers are not yet available for win 8.1 & trying to run 8.1 on a machine with only Win 8 drivers can cause problems -and that when available Microsoft will include the 8.1 drivers for the Win 8. machines as a normal 'update" and/or when it's clear to do the 8.1 update.
I am pretty uneducated when it comes to computers. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
thanks so much

A:Today Advised by Lenovo 'not' to upgrade to 8.1 because...

If you do not need the 8.1 functions, that is probably sound advice. The later you upgrade the stabler the system will be.

But it also sounds a bit like these guys want to reduce the amount of calls to their center.

I made the mistake of using my laptop without the charger and letting the battery run down. I launched The Sims 4 before getting up and grabbing my charger. I didn?t check to see if the laptop was actually charging after I plugged it in, simply because I?ve never had an issue before. So I set my laptop down and walked away, letting my game load. I left the computer alone for nearly 20 minutes. I came back and as soon as I went to use it, the screen went black. Luckily though it wasn?t entirely dead. I pressed the power button and it came back on briefly. The battery symbol had an ?X? and it said 0%. I noticed then that my charger wasn?t completely plugged into the machine. So I plugged it in properly and  I didn?t see a little charging symbol or anything but it didn?t shut down immediately - The Sims was still running in the back ground. I loaded up a world and after a minute or two it died. I tried to turn it back on but I wouldn?t turn on. So I let it sit unbothered, charging for several minutes. I tried to turn it back on and nothing happened. The power button wouldn?t even light up. However, when I do press it, there?s a little red light that blinks at the bottom of my laptop. I went online and tried to find some solutions. I tried the one where you detach the battery and the charger and hold the power button down for 30-60 secs and that produced no results. I think it might be a charger issue, but how do I know for sure? Any... I have been having issues with my computer since the day one. When I powered up the computer for the first time Polish (Machine was set to have Polish language for somewhat reason) BSOD with message MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION greeted me. I restarted the computer and everything seemed to be fine. However, an hour later another BSOD with message saying CRITICAL PROCESS DIED was displayed. I updated the bios and re-installed Windows to make sure this is not a software related issue. That did not help. I am still getting BSOD's with MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION, CRITICAL PROCESS DIED or UNEXPECTED STORE EXCEPTION. The progress counter stays at 0% and I waited for two hours for it to load. I have noticed that one occasion when errors occur are when I plug in my machine for charging. But, it can also throw an error with nothing specific going on. I ran Lenovo diagnostics tool(Check the attachment) everything seems to be fine. I contacted the seller (they claim to be Lenovo Platinum PC Parter) and they offered to send the laptop for diagnostics. They were not able to find the issue and as a consequence of that I had to pay for the shipping and diagnostics and the problem still remains. Only to find out Best Buy did not recognize my purchase because I did not have the ticket and they could not look me up on the systme... that was a lie... which I beleived... We have lenovo V580c notebook which HDD has died - it was already refubrished 2 times lol and it has died again. It has Windows 8/8.1 preinstalled and we have upgraded to Windows 10 recently. But since HDD has died, we needed to reinstall the system on the new drive (we have msata ssd for that). Anyway, I tried to boot notebook with DVD with burned clean Windows 10 ISO image but notebook don't want to boot from the DVD all of a sudden. No changes in BIOS could help to solve it - notebook just not recognizing any drive now. It goes through all boot options and stopped at network boot which we don't have. And then we see just a small windows with booting option which are not working any way. Here are some pictures: http://imgur.com/a/6R185 http://imgur.com/a/112HY http://imgur.com/a/K1k8Q I already tried lall posible BIOS modes, loaded safe settings, used UEFI/Legacy/Both, disabled/Enabled Secure boot. Nothing helps and the notebook is literally unusable now because it is not acepting any storage/disc to boot from. I even tried to remove any booting unit like HDD, DVD and new msata I tested before. Notebook just not even trying to boot. Obviously it is out of warranty now. What can I do to fix it and make it acept to boot from DVD again? I don't want to bring it to the perair service because it wil cost us the money. This product should just work at the first place. We had so bad experience with lenovo with this notebook that I won't buy any other their product anymore.

Lenovo Vantage has a selecton for system update and I have been using that. Today, out of the blue, a stand-alone application called "Lenovo System Update" was installed. Why? What does it get me that I don't already have as part of Lenovo Vantage? What happens if I uninstall it?There is one update that it says can't be installed: Intel Graphics Driver. I am offerd the option of installing it manually. I am reluctant to do that: If Lenovo Update can't install it, how can I do better? The Lenovo Vantage update process also will not install it but does not give me the manual option.ASSIDE: The interface is confusing. Selecting "Next" does not do an install. I have to first select "download." If that's the next step, why doesn't "next" get me there? ASSIDE #2: The above has a numbered list but after I post that formatting is gone. When re-editing it shows as a numbered list (good) but after posting it does not (bad).

Just got this laptop 2 months ago via amazon. I am a DJ and use Serato DJ software. I have only played 1 party with the new laptop. I am running windows 7 and windows 10 (difference partitions) Today I decided to build the overviews of my music collection. The software uses all 8 cores (8 songs at a time) to build them. I had the laptop running for about 2 hours. Everything was running fine. I even have the laptop slightly elavated in the back to get extra air flow. All of sudden the laptop shut off. I noticed that the charge light on the front of the laptop was no longer while. Power brick was pretty hot which seems normal for the intense core usage. Called tech support and went through some tech support, have to call back since there database was down. I suspect something on the laptop motherboard or memory etc went toast. This is my first Lenovo laptop ever. I have been a Dell guy for over 10 years, never ever had any hardware issues in 4 other laptops.  What can I expect from Lenovo warranty service? Anyone have any other thoughts on what the heck could have happened. This is probably the most intense I have run the laptop. DJ with the software isn't as intense as building overviews. Think of it as rendering.

Hi all,

Recently purchased a Y700 15isk
(i7 6700HQ (2.60 GHz) 8 GB Memory 1 TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4 GB GDDR)

The machine came with windows 10 and I partitioned the system and installed fresh copy of windows 7 and windows 10 (dual boot).

So over the weekend I decided to build overviews (via software) of my music collection. Since the laptop has 8 cores, it was building 8 at a time. So I imagine that the system was working full throttle. About 2 hours into the project, the laptop completely went out. Suspecting a heat issue, I checked the brick, it was hot but still was giving me a power reading via my ohm meter.

Plugged the brick back into the laptop and the lights on the front of the system did not turn on. Anyways pulled the battery from the laptop and did a discharge cycle and nothing.

I suspect my motherboard or cpu went toast! Seeing that I will be using this new laptop to dj professionally, obviously I am glad this happened at home.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? I can't believe that a new gaming laptop would fry while working all 8 cores. Fans also seemed to working while this was happening. In the power settings I also remember setting it "performance".

What are people using to stress test laptops? I will be sending this one in for repair and then stress test the one I get back.

A:New Lenovo Laptop Died While Rendering Files (All 8 Cores Being Used)

Laptops never has a good cooling system and always run hot.
The CPU has a temperature trigger that will shut down the computer to self protect.
As it also has a battery, I would say that is probably the internal power supply. When plug ed in, does the charging led goes on?

No reason to work on performance profile settings.
You can run on balance profile settings and adjust the minimum and maximum CPU clock. I suggest 20 & 100%. The clock then will automatically be set as necessary.

The i7 6700HQ has 4 cores and Hyper-Threading makes two tasks share one core, simulating 8 cores.

Hyper-Threading is only effective with high multitask programs, like Photoshop, Autocad, games etc, that split a complex task into multiple tasks.

A:Solved: Access Date Today or after today

If this is the same field as the first post then you will be stuck with the default value of Now() or Date().
If it is a different field then in the validation property use >=Date().
Date() is used when you do not need to store the "Time" as well as the date, Now() stores the Date and the Time.

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Q: PC died

First one ever to die in 8 years ( this one is 3 years old)

The other day the screen froze and there was a strangle smell exactly like TCP ( not the protocol !! the antiseptic )

Now the pc will not boot, no bios absolutely nothing, the HD gets power i can hear it functioning but not going through a few boot ( what a nerd i even know the sound if my hard drive booting !!)the power supply fan is running but the processor fan is not. The monitor is blank however it does detect when it is unplugged from the PC

The Hard drive is OK and works fine on the other pc

I am thinking that the power is ok and that the processor has gone to heaven and / or the motherboard

I do not have a processor to try in the MB so does anyone know how i can determin if it is the Pro or the MB which had died, as i would prefer to replace one and not both ( yeah saving my pennies for a holiday )

hi everyone my lovely 500 GB HDD died 2 days ago so now I'm posting my problem here so I can get as much help/suggestion/advice as I can, so I know what do with my HDD.

Here is the story:
Last summer I bought a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500Gbytes, it was working fine. But since I'm such a reckless person! I tried to move the HDD from my pc to my father's pc, while I was holding the drive on my hand walking towards dad's room, my hand slipped and the drive fell down on a ceramic floor!!! I picked it up and then went on to my dad's room.

I installed the IDE cables and everything on my father's pc. Unfortunately the drive didn't get recognized in the 2nd pc (it was undetected in the BIOS, and the drive was making a strange sound) so while I was working on changing the drive's IDE cable I accidentally pulled off the power cord cable of the drive, when I did so the pc shut down and wont power on. Then when I pulled the drive's power cord off, the pc started to run again. So the problem now is that whenever I connect the power cord to the damaged HDD the pc won't switch on. So what does this mean?

I know that it's my entire fault, but I'm going to fix it no matter what!!

Seriously, I built this computer from scratch a few years ago. The specifications aren't the greatest, but it served it's purpose rather well. After I put it together, it ran happily without fault, and even continuously - as in 24/7 while running programs overnight.

Recently however, it just gave up. One day, it froze. And I don't mean BSOD or the programs running stopped. I mean literally froze up. The last movements of the program running were frozen in time plastered across the monitor, even the mouse cursor was in suspended animation.

I shrugged, and switched it off. I figured maybe it had overheated, and seized up, right? After all, the only cooling system on board is the CPU's fan. After a while, I rebooted again, and everything seemed fine.

For about an hour, tops. Then it seized up again. Now, I'm not a novice to computers, but if you start quoting graphic card speculations and brand names, I'll stare back blankly, as these things have never interested me. Oh, and I'm a computer engineer myself, by the way. You know how it is, you spend all day fixing other people's systems, you tend to go "meh" when it comes to your own.

Back to the problem though. I took the entire system apart, and rebuilt it, after checking each component to see if something was obviously wrong. I couldn't find anything, although I may have overlooked something I suppose.

What I'm thinking is, it's definately a hardwar... Read more

Yes Ram and or Hard Drive can lock up after time, if they are faulty
Think of the hardware as only having one error in one place, that when accessed will then fault
Memory issues: Hard Drive and Ram, can also mean Video Card Memory, but it does sound like a "memory" issue

Have just upgraded my INTERNET bandwidth from fast to faster through Roadrunner Time Warner Cable and for the life of me we have three other systems in the home and they all run faster when it comes to web browsing and web pages opening and up and download speeds, but my system which is the backbone of keeping everyone on par here at home and helping some of my friends at work maintain their systems running, anyway IE 9 will take forever to load or even open up say at least anywhere from 30seconds to minutes ! It ran just fine before the upgrade in cable speed, went from 20mbps to 30mbps or better download. I did not turn my system on the day the tech was here for the change out in modems as we tried the other systems and they all ran great. The very next day I turned my system on and boom ! that is when I was so disappointed . This is on Windows 7 64bit also and to answer some more ?'s have four other operating systems in this tower (98SE up on different drives) have booted in to each one and surfed with out a glitch ! Anyway here are some logs if someone would care to take a look. Have uninstalled IE9 went back to IE 8 with no change
I have since reinstalled IE 9 with the same results. Have also disabled any and everything I can think of to see what may be posing the problem. Still no change. In internet options have even enabled Accelerated Graphics under the advanced tab with no result... Read more

Hi all

My main pc has gone down & i need some help figuring out what's broke.
my pc was on & running fine,i turned on my audio (Logitech Z5500 Speakers 5.1 Surround Sound 505W RMS) at the control box, there was a loud humming noise & i realized the volume was up full from the night before when i had my headphones plugged in,then the pc just lost power & turned off.
Now when i start it up the power supply comes on for maybe 2 seconds then turns off again then back on but the pc wont start up all the lights are on but nothing comes on the monitor.
The psu is a ocz gamexstream 600w.

Looks to me like its the psu thats gone but i ain't sure...so before i go ordering a new psu could it be anything else? or is there fuses in the psu i could just replace?

A:What's died?

Well, there's as they say, "no user serviceable components in your PSU". Besides, if a fuse was blown, it wouldn't come on at all, now would it?

You can buy a PSU tester for about 20 bucks, give or take. Generally though, trial by substitution is the way the diagnosis is made. To the upside, you'll likely need another PSU someday, perhaps sooner than later.

One other possibility could be that the CPU heat sink fan has come loose, and the system is thermaling out.

So my 500w fm2 enermax psu died yesterday, heard a popping sound and then smoke... smelled the psu and it stinks of burning electronics. So i know its dead, hope it didnt damage anything else. Any way im going to get a new one. Just have to order it. Had this psu for about 2 years really surprised it went.

My system specs are as follows:

cpu- e8400 c2d 3.0 ghz

video card- 260 gtx

1 sata 7200 HD

4 gig ram (2 sticks)

1 ide dvd/cd burner

asus pq5l board

Nothing over clocked. I'm getting one of these psu's for sure because the price is right for me, they are:

Ultra Products - LSP (Lifetime Series Pro) 650-Watt ATX Power Supply or

Newegg.com - Antec earthwatts EA500 500W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.2 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply - Power Supplies Even though the top one has more wats it not the best name i dont think so im leaning towards the earthwats. So which of these 2 would u suggest. TY
It has to be one of these because the place im ordering from only has these 2 in my price range, and im not ordering from newegg cause i dont want to wait a week for it, im in canada. So between these two which one do u suggest.

A:Psu died

Personally between the two in your price range I would take the Antec.

Recently I pulled out an old computer for our exchange student to use. It hasn't been used in quite some years.....last semseter the student we had insisted on buying his own. This computer I am positive worked fine when it was last used, and now it seems the motherboard may be shot. I'm curious if it is possible for the motherboard to die over a long period of no use. It seems odd.....but I can't think of anything else. Also......we have three of these things....all identical. I pulled the other two out and they do the same thing.

When I power on, the hard drive will start spinning, the power supply doesn't really spin....but I'm not sure if it's defective or if the fan doesn't spin right away because it's a 75W ps. It just sits at the startup screen displaying the compaq logo. Doesn't POST......doesn't let you get into the bios. It just sits there. Any ideas?

Hi my pc has been running absolutely fine for the past year (since I bought it new). I was playing on ets2 yesterday with no issues, after I decided to watch something online while getting to sleep.

The show had been playing for about 10 mins with no probs but then it started buffering every now and then.

Thought nothing of it, it got more frequent though until it stopped loading all together. I tried refreshing and opening a new tab etc but got blank pages with nothing loading, I then crossed the Web off and from then on nothing would load.

All I got after was the egg times spinning constantly.
I tried shutting it down and restarting but wasn't having none of it, so did it by the power button.

When it came back on it was stuck on the windows loading screen for half hour ish until I turned it back off and on again, this time it gave me the option of windows repair so did just that, took me back to an earlier date and seemed to boot up with no trouble.

None of my start up programmes loaded and couldn't click anything again though.

So I tried in safe mode but is so slow, I've managed to get dxdiag to finally load the info but next to processor it says n/a.

Does anybody have an idea why that might be? And also what you think is the problem.

I thought it may have been my phone at first, haven't plugged it into the pc for nearly a year and already have kies on there so don't see how it could be but was about 5 mins before it started doing th... Read more

Hi. Last night my P70 died while plugged into the charging brick. The battery was down to 0% and wouldn't do anything even though it was plugged in. When I unplugged it from the back of the machine and plugged it back in it started charging and booted up.      Today the machine has shut down while in the port replicator several times but only after it was idle for a while. Ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

A:P70 died.

Sounds like a flaky power supply -- either the brick itself, connecting cable(s) or motherboard circuitry. What does Lenovo tech support say about this?

If you still have your original Win 7 disk and product key, or factory recovery image disks and product key, the only thing you'll need to buy is a hard disk for the computer, and reinstall.

I purchased a XPS 15 (9550) from eBay. The system has the i7 CPU, UHD touch, 8gb RAM and 250gb SSD. There is no NVidia showing up in system manager. As far as I know the 2016 model shipped with the NVidia GPU so a bit worried that this isn't working. Any ideas.

Best bet:  ask the seller.  You're likely going to need to return the system for a refund.

HP Pavilion 510n , Windows XP Home Edition, some RAM, and a 40GB hard drive. I was updating the computer through Microsoft, already had SP1 & SP2 on it. I already had Internet Explorer 7 on it. It seemed like I was on the last bit of updates and it said it was done installing the last few and that I needed to RESTART the computer. No problem, I thought. When the computer went to boot back up, after the HP splash screen, all I get is ...." NTLDR is missing, Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart. When I push them I get the same screen again.....press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart. I have no clue what happend. Everything was fine. I went into the BIOS and it recognizes that the hard drive is there.
Any help fixing this computer will be GREATLY appreciated !!!

Hello babydollxrach, Are the LEDs blink or the computer beeps? Computers use blinking LEDs to identify startup errors. If you see the LEDs blinking (usually 1 - 8 blinks in a series) near the caps lock or num lock keys. Did you try to turn it on with a different battey?  Also you can review this link, it provides possible solutions to many common computer startup issues:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03515402  Regards

I've got a huge problem and would be really grateful if someone could at least tell me what's wrong with my pc.

Yesterday, while playing League of Legends, my pc froze and nothing I did helped, no key combinations, nothing, I had to manually restart my pc. Thinking it was a one time thing i continued playing and the same thing happened 4 times.

I figured it had to be due to the game itself, but then I tried playing 2 other games and the same thing happened in those 2 other games as well.

Since I hadn't formated my hard drive in a year I thought it had to be due to my hard drive getting suffocated so I formated it. Windows 7 installation went fine, but again as soon as I started a game...be it 2 minutes od 1 hour into the game, the pc would freeze and I was forced to manually restart it.

I read online that faulty memory modules are mostly to blame so I opened my pc and switched the places of the memory modules but as soon as I started my pc the boot screen was all grainy and the letters barely readable. My pc started up in the lowest resolution possible and since my motherboard (asus P5K) doesn't have a vga card I wonder how I can see anything at all. My pc doesn't recognize my GPU anymore (GeForce 8800 GT) and neither does it show up in dxdiag or hardware list.

I try to swap memory modules again, try to leave only one inside and then try the other...but to no avail. The fan on my GPU is still rotating but I'm starting to fear my GPU has die... Read more

Q: pc died

I usually leave my pc on and just restart it once a day. Last weekend I shut it down and when I went to turn it back on several hours later it would not go on. It acted as if it wasn't getting any power. I checked all connections, etc. and eventually took it in for repair. I just talked to the repair guy and he said he changed out the power supply and that didn't solve the problem. He said it probably needs a new Motherboard. I'm really illiterate about this - does this sound right? And any idea what a new motherboard would run? I have a Pentium II 300mhz pc.

A:pc died

I would ask if any lights are lit when you power up though, if they are then you at least have power to the MB and you may have a problem within the MB itself.
If a new power supply didn't do it for you then your Tech is prob'ly correct. TigerDirect.com has motherboard/CPU combos listed starting around $89 (PII 350's). You could find something cheaper on auction or maybe your Tech has a used one, but 'NEW' has a warranty with it. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone, I went to use my PC after a couple of months (I have been using a laptop instead), and it wouldn't power on. I've done a fair bit of upgrading this PC, adding sound cards, RAM, and a new hard drive, so I feel like I know my way around it. When I took the side cover off, I noticed that the light on the back of the PC, on the power supply where you plug the mains in, was flashing green, and the PSU fan wasn't spinning. I looked where the power comes onto the motherboard, and there is a small green light flashing there as well. There is no power to the power switch at the front, or anything else, it seems from looking.

Could this be a faulty power supply? I was looking on the motherboard for fuses, to see if one had blown, but I can't see any. There is obviously power from the mains because of the green flashing lights, that go off when I pull the power cable out.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong. This is an old eMachines e4026, I am ready to replace it if need be, it's virtually worthless aside from the upgrades I have done, but if there is an easy fix that someone can suggest I'm willing to take a look!

Thanks for reading.

So, my computer randomly stopped working... It froze on the logon screen and i let some 2-year old hit buttons on the keyboard for a long while until he tried sticking his finger into one of the case fans... at which point i just hit the kill switch on the PSU. Sinse then the computer won't boot. I can hit the power button, the PSU turns on (the internal blue LED fan is on) and the CPU fan spins and lights up. The mouse and keyboard light up for a second and stop. Also both monitors just say PC Entering Power Save Mode (or whatever they say when they're on but there's no signal...)

My setup is as follows...

Logisys PS550AC12 550W PSU
Microstar MS-7187 Ver. 1.A MB
Intel Pentium D 830
nVidia 8500GT 512mb
1 GB of Nanya Ram (Stock to Medion)
2 GB of an unknown ram... (ordered online... no brand name sticker and i forget what brand it is....)

Thanks in advance...

I guess your HD is corrupt. Try CHKDSK /p at the Recovery Console.

CHKDSK /? shows its syntax, use the swicth /p.
