BSOD while using Adobe different Adobe Products

Q: BSOD while using Adobe different Adobe Products

Hey guys,

I keep getting BSODs whenever I'm running any of the following Adobe applications:Photoshop
After Effects

Beyond that, there is no pattern I'm able to discern that's causing the crashes. It doesn't only happen when I'm doing something resource intensive like rendering or exporting, it's even happened when I'm not at the computer. I'll work for 2 hours and everything will be fine, and then it'll crash several times within an hour.

I'm getting different errors almost every time, as well, including:
0x00000101 (0x00000000c0000005, 0xFFFFF800034BC5A2, 0xFFFFF880218A6B30, 0x0000000000000000)
0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFFA8019959028, 0x00000000B0800000, 0x0000000000040151)
0x0000003B (0x0000000000000019, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF88002FE6180, 0x0000000000000004)

I've attached the DM Log Collector output, as well.

I've been trying to diagnose this for weeks, with no luck. I've run hardware tests on the RAM and GPUs, and everything performs fine, so I'm thinking this is some kind of software issue.

Any help would be very deeply appreciated, thank you!

Preferred Solution: BSOD while using Adobe different Adobe Products

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This past Saturday I began having a problem where Adobe Products would cause a BSOD. I first noticed it in Photoshop and then I tried Adobe Acrobat Reader and Illustrator both of which also had a BSOD. I tried reinstalling. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling. Neither of these worked and when I tried to uninstall all the Adobe stuff it would also cause a BSOD. Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign all seemed to uninstall fine but Acrobat and other programs associated with it would not allow uninstallation either having errors (while in safe mode) or causing a BSOD.

I copied down the following information and have attached the requested information:

Problem Signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.
LocaleID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 50

BCP2 0000000000001
BCP4 0000000000002
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

I appreciate the help.

Most of your reports were in agreement as to the cause a microsoft driver, which is not the cause.
Make an SFC scan
If you still have problem run a driver verifier scan to determine the true cause
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Driver Verifier
I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Windows 7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you... Read more

Does anybody besides me ever get pissed when this vendors products require updates? Flash has to ask 3 time if you want to update and when it is done. Can't wait until HTML5 kills this piece of $hit.

The reader product should be a simple program to display PDFs. Right! Instead it is a huge download, installs an update service and requires reboot when installed.

Has anybody @ Adobe ever developed for the real world.... Just venting...

I got rid of all Adobe products except Flash (and that is enough of a pain). For PDFs use Foxit and Adobe Air you probably do not need.

Hello all

I just got my first laptop and this is also my first machine with vista. What can I say? Vista sucks...

I am trying to run photoshop CS3 and Dreamweaver CS3, as well as regular adobe programs like the acrobat reader and NONE OF THEM will work.

I hit ctrl+alt+del and start the task manager and see that the processes tab lists the processes dreamweaver.exe and photoshop.exe have started but the program never pops up in the GUI. Dreamweaver does nothing. Photoshop shows the initial program window with the menus but the photoshop splash screen does not show up. Acrobat reader loads its main window as well and also stops responding.

Attempting to run these programs will not freeze the computer, only the programs themselves become unresponsive in just a few seconds.

Does anyone know of a patch or something I can do to make these work? I run them daily on windows XP and have never had an issue with any of them.

I planned on taking them with me to Iraq here soon so I could make small websites for people to bring in some extra money on downtime/days off, but it seems that may not be in the works. Thanks for any help you can offer.

FWIW I have tried one remedy, and that was installing them to an external hard drive and running them from there, which did the same thing it does on the boot drive.

A:Adobe products will not run

I'm having somewhat the same issues after installing CS3 on a Vista machine.

The people that help here are probably going to want some more info - Comp Specs like, amount of RAM - procesor etc etc before they can help.

All i can offer is - you're not allone in these issues on a Vista machine.

Try waiting for the prog to load - I have a pretty powerful machine - and it takes for ever to load adobe or any other program - Vista uses this RAM cache system for Super Fetch i understand, and personally i don't care what any one says - its' sucking up pysical RAM usage - my XP machine - much less powerful doesn't struggle with opening these programs like my Vista machine does and it has one less CPU in it. My XP machine can't run them the way i need to , hence i got a more powerful machine - it came with Vista...

Currently on my machine, Vista using it's RAM cache with CS3 Programs is sucking up allmost a full gig of my RAM. leaving only a little over 1 gig for apps... and RAM overhead allowance

get the gadget that shows cpu and ram usage or check Vista performace and you can see waht your system is using and doing, it may help these guys help you.

Personally the whole point of having a more powerfull machine is to run the 3 party apps as priority - not the OS. Vista is turning out to be a MAJOR dissappointment for me thus far... though i have a thread here as well - and hope they can help - the issues you and i are having with Vista dragging butt with apps - possi... On 9-June-2012 our Dell XPS 8300 started getting the BSOD when trying to open Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Contribute. From January 2012 through 9-June we have had no trouble with Adobe. We have not added any new software or hardware around the 9-June timeframe. The ONLY time we get the BSOD is when starting one of these two products. We never get the BSOD at other times. We DON'T get this error when we start Adobe Photoshop. On 14-June I installed the latest video driver, but that did not help. I have run chkdsk /r /f and memtest and I have tested the video memory.....all without errors.

A:Are Adobe products safe?

Overall, I think Arkin has a good grasp of the task at hand, and I sure don't envy his job. I did find a few of his remarks about "few" users of Flash or Acrobat being infected unless they had fallen behind on patches to a little disingenuous, though.

There are certainly alternative products (like Foxit) that have avoided virtually all the security problems of Acrobat, and so I generally just avoid Acrobat. Unfortunately, even the best alternatives to the Flash Player that I've seen are definitely not ready for prime time.

Hello, Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome onboard ! I see you are listed as using Windows 10 - is this correct ? Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 have built-in Adobe Flash Player which works for Microsoft browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer, etc...)It will not work for Opera and Firefox. Chrome also has buit-in Flash Player, therefore no extra download on that is needed. If this is Firefox OR Opera browsers , please try to download them from here >> https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/If this is for Edge browser, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome - Flash player is already built-in, therefore no actions is neded No matter the browser, you can get Adobe PDF reader from this URL >> https://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/ If you still continue to see the errors, please, take a screenshot and post it back here in the forum or attach it somewhere and copy the URL. Here is how to take a screenshot of your screen >> http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/  Looking forward to your reply !

I had a hard drive failure and started a fresh XP install on a new one.
That didn't go well for some reason and a few devices still won't load with their drivers. But I think that is unrelated.

My main issue is that when i am using bridge or photoshop(cs3) I can usually edit one photo but then during the opening of the second the whole system will lock up. The same thing happens if i am viewing or playing a flash game, pretty consistantly during the first 30 minutes my system will either lock up or go to the blue screen of death with an IRQ problem. Any ideas? What details should I supply here to help?

A:Adobe products causing crashes?

You should supply the Stop error code, it looks like 0x000000D1 or similar. There will also be 4 codes after it in brackets.

Actually, it'd probably be better to write everything that the Blue screen says. It should name the driver responsible for the IRQ error.

First off, note there is a separate update for Firefox.

At the moment, each time I go to use one of the programs, it automatically starts to update itself and then likes to constantly bother me to restart the program for the updates to take effect. Let me start off by saying that I have been building computers for over 10 years, so my computer knowledge is significantly high. This is not a heating issue, I can replicate the problem while watching the temps and they are fine. This happens with both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Air. Adobe Air is used in League of Legends, a game I play. Every once and a while, while fiddling with the UI in game, my computer will instantly turn off. No freezing, no BSOD, just off. I have swapped PSUs, GPU's, and HDD's. This problem also occurs when I try to drag one picture to another in Photoshop. I do not have this problem anywhere else but with Adobe. Any thoughts?

Running Windows 7 64-bit and am getting redirected in all browsers, typically during searches from Google or going to a popular site, to hxxp:// After this incident, all my Adobe/Flash products stopped giving Audio (Youtube, games, videos, etc.) and stopped properly syncing (For instance, Pandora One which runs off Adobe Air will continue to buffer, and never fully load). Nor will Pandora load on the website (Pointing towards audio and streaming issues??)

In Google Chrome, Netflix stops buffering at 99%, but plays fully in Firefox.

I do not know if the redirects are related to the audio issue, but I would at least like to rectify the rootkit issue so I can properly handle my Flash's audio problem.

I am relatively new to graphic design and imaging, but I have a question regarding my use of Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Adobe Photoshop CS3.

I have designed a logo in Adobe Illustrator CS3, and saved it as both an ".AI" file and an ".EPS" file.

Now, when I open the ".EPS" file in Adobe Photoshop CS3, it appears that the bright cyan (it's a white logo with one of the characters in bright cyan) is duller than what it seemed to be in Adobe Illustrator CS3.

Does anyone know why this would be, and what I can do to stop it?

I replaced my hard drive a couple of months ago, and just got around to reinstalling Adobe CS2. Now, every time I boot my computer, C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe opens automatically (contains AdobePatchFiles folder). Not sure why this is happening, or what to do. I downloaded Adobe Photoshop (Portable) and installed it. Then I wanted to change the location where it was saved. I tried to move it but it couldn?t be moved so I copied and pasted it into a new location. I know I should uninstall but since I just wanted 1 copy, I deleted one.

After that, most of the other Adobe programs were affected. When I opened some, they would say that some files are missing or my license has expired. Some started asking for serial number or to register.

When I opened Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 it said Photoshop Elements Help was missing and there were missing icons on the right side.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled the programs. I downloaded some but they can?t be installed. It always says some files are missing.

What is the cause of the problem?
How can I fix this?

A:Manually deleted Adobe program and now all Adobe programs are affected

Try downloading the entire app again and then reinstall!

Hi there,

I've got some 500MB AVI files which I'm having problems with since I cannot import them into either Premiere CS3 to convert the file from AVI to another format or to Adobe Encore off the cuff so that I can create my DVD without both pieces of software locking up and crashing.

I've already tried reinstalling both bits of software to no avail and there has been no change. I've tried a Google search for similar situations but I cannot find any at the moment, so please could you help as soon as possible.

Dear Forum,

I know I have to do either a clean install, or an in place upgrade install soon . However, I just would like to repair my CS5.0 Encore that started acting strange lately (no new programs/hardware installed). I uninstalled/reinstalled the whole suite several times (using Control Panel > Programs and Features, Adobe Clean Tool, and CCleaner64). I noticed that several Adobe folders remained (In Program Files, Program Files (x86), and in Common Files within those folders). I even had PrPro.exe with a dozen dll-s in one folder (which, of course, didn't work). I have two other Adobe programs (Adobe Media Player, and Adobe Reader X).

My question: What would happen if after a thorough uninstall of all three programs (maybe RevoPro, instead of Programs and Features?) and after having no Adobe product installed in the system, simply delete all folders/files that have anything "Adobe"? Would still be shared dll files that needed by other non-Adobe programs? Would the registry cleaner delete all the bad registry entries that created by simply deleting the Adobe files? If it works, I would do the in-place repair install of Win 7. Or I will be advised to try this just before I am ready for a clean install () in case, if this ruins the system.

I would greatly appreciate any helpful advice (and I understand that might not be an answer to these questions).

A:After Uninstalling Adobe CS5, Adobe Folders and Files Remain

Just delete the leftover files , then use ccleaner to work on the registry , defrag a few times and you should be fine. If you still have problems come back and we`ll gladly help you do a clean install.

What's the big difference if any between shockwave player and flash player? I see both in the control panel.

However, one says I have flash player 10, but I have just now downloaded their newest version 10.1. And that's been the second time at least for the same update. ??

The other says I have shockwave player 11.5. Both are Adobe.

By the way, in the control panel and over on the right side, there's a column that lists how often used and also where you can delete a program. But with the new version, altho it's listed as loaded on the left side, the right is blank except for the word delete. In other words, no listing for size like all the other programs.

Not sure where this should end up,but I'm sure it will be guided to the correct forum,as always.
After doing quite a bit of reading today,I decided that the Adobe PDF viewer is a resource hog. I uninstalled any traces of it I could find in my add/remove programs part of my pc. Just a few minutes ago while reading another post here at BC, I discovered I had to install Adobe Flash player to view an article thru YouTube.
My question is how does flash differ from the pdf viewer? They're both an Adobe thing, right?

I opted to download a small viewer called Sumatra,by the way.

A:Adobe flash player+Adobe pdf viewer

It's a different product and unlike Adobe Reader, there are no alternatives for Flash.

I use both Adobe Reader 8 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0. Whenever I open a pdf document, it always defaults to the Adobe Photoshop Elements. Is there a way to change the default so it opens with Adobe Reader? Thanks.

A:Adobe Photoshop Elements And Adobe Reader

Navigate to where you store your pdf files.
Right click on one of these files and a dialogue will open inviting you to nominate which prog you wish to open that file.
In that dialogue, scroll down to "choose a program", when that opens,?scroll?to?Adobe?Reader,?click?on?that?and?then?click?on?"always?use?this?program?to?open?this?type?pf?file"

Since installing Adobe Reader 6.0, by Adobe Photo Deluxe Home Edition will no longer convert photos, scans, docs to Adobe reader format....... will still convert to other formats, for example jpg.

A:Adobe Acrobat 6.0 & Adobe Photo Deluxe

The best thing to try would be reinstalling Adobe Photo Home, so it can reset its file associations and get back to working order.

I created a pdf. file from a document that had 'fill-in forms'. I used Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0. to create the PDF file.

I then I burned the pdf. file on to a CD.

When I used my Adobe Reader 9.0 to open the PDF file, I could fill-in the forms, but not save them. I received a message that said I could not save the information, only print it unless I enabled the ‘local save capability’ in the original pdf. file.

I will be selling the CDs and need the buyer to be able to fill-in the forms, and then save the document on the CD or the buyer’s computer.

1. How do I enable the ‘local save capability’ on Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0, saving the document with the information typed into the fill-in forms?

2. How can I write protect the pdf. file so no one can edit it (except for the fill-in fields) nor duplicate the disk?

3. Has anyone bought a software product from www.SoftCaptain.com and if yes, what was your experience with the software product company?

A:Adobe Acrobat Professional & Adobe Reader

I can't answer all of your questions, but data on a CD is read only, you won't be able to save the edited file on that CD.
It can only be saved on the hard drive & then burned to CD again, if necessary.

Hi all, I need help. Strange things are happening. My computer freezes when I open a web page and click on a link. Sometimes the link will partially load, sometimes not, but if it freezes, I cannot X out of the whole thing. I have to use Control/Alt/Delete. Also, Adobe Acrobat has disappeared. It shows in the Add/Delete programs in the Control panel(Adobe Acrobat 5.0) but on the list of programs shown is I put the cursor at Start, Adobe name is there but it is empty. I tried to update it yesterday thinking that was part of my
problem but I was told there was no program to update and I cannot find it on-line anywhere to install again.

That is the difference between Adobe Acrobat 5.0, Adobe reader 7 and Adobe Flash Player 9? I am a new user (and an old granny) and am having real problems figuring a lot of this out. I have cleaned up everything I can think of and do not know how to address this problem. Any help is appreciated.

Please forgive my non techie ignorance here. Why do I need these?

P.S. My system is Vista Home Premium 64-bit with NVIDIA

I ask because when I go into Programs and Features, neither of these are there.
I do have an Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX and an Adobe AIR (whatever that is).
I also now have an Adobe Download Manager which came when I downloaded the subject two programs.
NOTE: The Flash Player shows as a plugin on Firefox
ALSO: The site told me to uninstall the older versions of these two programs prior to installing the new, but I don't have an older version of either

This came about because I was having a problem with a game that worked until after I installed the latest NVIDIA driver. The game manufacturer told me to install both of these as a measure to correct the issue. It didn't correct it BTW. Other games still work fine.

Soooo, do I remove these two items or leave them as added value for other programs?

Thanks for your help.

A:Adobe Shockwave 11.5 & Adobe Flash 10 - do I need?

Hi, Adobe shockwave and flash are fundamental for experiencing the whole Internet.

Without Shockwave and flash almost no Internet games would work, most online Videos won't work (YouTube won't work unless you ask it to load the movie in HTML 5 from youtube.com/html5) and tons of other stuff wouldn't work to its full potential.

You can live without these 2 plugins from Adobe (1 of my friends doesn't have them installed for moral reasons) but I wouldn't recommend it until HTML 5 really becomes wide spread.

I'm only taking a guess here, but since you mentioned your ability to create pdf's, I'm assuming you have the full version and your DL'ed v.6 is only a reader version. If that's the case, maybe the full version (5) defaults over v.6 (since it sounds like you might have both installed).

Just a guess.
