Lenovo X1 Yoga touchscreen/stylus "not found" after recent BIOS flash/update

Q: Lenovo X1 Yoga touchscreen/stylus "not found" after recent BIOS flash/update

Hi, I recently updated the X1 yoga 1st gen to the pushed out updates. This laptop, other than the battery life decreasing (expected) has been doing fine. However, after the recently pushed out updates, it stopped recognizing touch and stylus. This maching was fine just prior to the BIOS flash and updates. I tried to install the new 9/14 touchscreen drivers and it says "Target device not found" (even though it was working immediately prior to updates. (other topics similar to this are not pertinent to this situation) My suspicion is that it is triggered by soft ware - BIOS, but I can't quite roll that back. I would appreciate any help.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, I am new to using both a touchscreen and stylus on a laptop.  I bought this model with the theory of being able to easily annotate PDFs.  However I have found no matter the software that the stylus/software is rendered un-usable as my hand, on the large 14" screen constantly interferes when trying to use the stylus. Any suggestions please?  Lenovo "Technical" support were anything but. Thank you

Hello everyone! I ama new user and i am coming up with this post as I couldn`t find any kind of solution for my problem.Recently I decided to do a reinstallation of my operating system, which also previously was Windows 7 Ultimate (x64). The installation went as usual, and after finishing it I went on to install all the latest drivers from the Lenovo site, for my product. When getting close to installing almost all the drivers i`ve needed, i stumbled upon a new version of the BIOS amnd the drivers and sfotware recommended for my laptop, by the producer. So i proceeded to install the upgrade, restarted the computer when it prompted me to do so, but after the so-called restart the laptop did not boot up as usual. At first it was telling me to not do anything as the BIOS is being flashed and then it was telling me something about some sort of image processing, things that i did not understand at the time (i have never encountered anything like that). After that my screen turned black. I have not done anything for a few couple of minutes as i thought it was supposed to be like that, but then i just force shut it down and unplugged the AC adapter. When trying to boot it all up again, the only thing i got was a black screen and nothing else. After doing a little bit of research it appears that, somehowm i`ve managed to corrupt the bios on my laptop or something, and nothing else would work at this point. I tried to remove the BIOS battery and the ram and then put them all back, trye... Read more

You were not very specific on which model Yoga 730 you have.  Below is the readme file for Yoga 730-13IKB.  If its a different model go to your models download page and you can see the BIOS download page with readme files.

Hey! Got myself a brand new Yoga 910 and installed the latest BIOS update to fix the fan noise issue: http://support.lenovo.com/se/sv/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-910-13ikb/downloads/d... However, immediately after installing the update, the screen started having graphical glitching issues with artifacts flickering on the screen all the time. For example, if I'm on my desktop, I have the Trashcan and Spotify icon at the top of my desktop, and I will see "ghosts" of these icons flickering over the lower half of the screen. I tried updating the graphics driver to the latest version but it didn't help: http://support.lenovo.com/se/sv/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-910-13ikb/downloads/D... The graphical artifacts that flicker on the screen seem to be based on what content I have on the screen currently. The computer was fine when I got it. My exact process has been: Getting the computer, everything is fineRunning Windows UpdateUsing the computer, everything is fineDownloading and installing latest BIOS updateNoticing flickering which never was there before the BIOS updateRestarting computerInstalling Intel DriverRestarting Computer But it's still flickering all the time. Needless to say this makes the laptop unusable.

In the Lenovo download center I only find the * .exe file for Windows (which I do not have on the machine).

Where can I find this ISO? Or, is there a means to extract the ISO from the * .exe file?

Hi everybody, I'm looking for a solution to draw/take notes on my lenovo yoga 13. Or any active pen for that matter?Otherwise I'm stuck with those lame capacitive pens that are everything but accurate, even the bamboo solo doesn't work with it.Any ideas? Thinking of purchasing the Lenovo y710 for art work(sketches) and coding and some on/off 3d modeling.  Wondering if the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga pen(Part number : 4X80F22110) works with the y710? It's not a BIG deciding factor but I definitely would help my purchasing decision.  If it doesn't, are there any possible stylus that are similiar to the Yoga pen? I dislike flat rub ones that are made for the everyday generic tablets.

This is not a question, but really a suggestion to all of you who are about to update your BIOS. Lenovo released a new BIOS version for Lenovo Yoga 720 15 inches (BIOS Update - 10 [64] - V.4MCN24WW. This update brought back fan noise and frequently operation like it was before the BIOS update (BIOS Update - 10 [64] - V.4CN23W).  So the 24th version of the update is running fans as loud as the 22nd version. No good. If you know how to fix this problem then please let me know. Please do not update your BIOS because it brings back loud fan noise. I am hoping the fan issue thing will be fixed. The reason I did not want to purchase Lenovo Yoga model because they have been notoriously known for fan noise. The problem that was fixed with the 23 version of the BIOS update seems to be back with the 24 version.

Hi, I just got a Surface Pro 3 stylus from a friend, to use with my Lenovo Yoga 2. The stylus is designed for capacitive screen. So I assume it should works with the Lenovo Yoga 2 (At least I hope).I paired it both of them together (see screenshot). But I have to admit during the pairing, the bar stopped at like 10 % and then it said Paired (my other bluetooth devices goes up to 100% before it pairs). But it does not seems to works.I can't use the pen at all. My friend admitted it was not the orriginal pen as he lost it, but it still worked perfectly like the original. It is called Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 N-trig  Stylus Capacitive electromagnetic pen, he said. My bluetooth driver are updated to the latest available for the lenovo yoga pro. I really wish to be able to use this pen to draw. Thank you very much for all help you may provide.

Hey guys, I'm having some issues with pressure sensitivity. Does the Lenovo yoga 3 support pressure sensitivity? (I thought it would, being a touchscreen laptop)I am using Adobe Illustrator CC with a stylus - the Adonit Jot Pro. I can't seem to use the pressure sensitivity functions on illustrator. I tried downloading a few Wacom drivers, however they did not make any difference. If the Yoga 3 Pro does actually have pressure sensitivity functions, how do I enable them or which drivers do I download.. basically, how do i fix this??Thanks!

A:Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro - Pressure Sensitivity - Stylus

Good day and welcome to the community.

The Yoga 3 Pro has a multipoint capacitive touch screen (vs an active digitizer).

If you need Wacom-style functionality (pressure levels, fine-point control, etc) you'll need a suitably equipped machine, such as a number of ThinkPad Yoga models, the ThinkPad Helix, or the ThinkPad Tablet 10.

Hope this helps to clarify.
Regards.

Hi All, So I've had this aesthetically pleasing yoga 3 pro for about a month with the purpose for it to be used as a Uni Laptop.  However I've come across a few issues that I am hoping I can get some help with. Firstly, I've lost all ability to use the touchscreen. Windows Device Managers is seeing it, but I have no way to enable/disable or test. Is there something I am missing? Secodly, through basic use I am finding the CPU and RAM usage well in excess of 80% for a lot of the time, with the system coming to a near grinding halt if I have approximately a dozen chrome tabs open, a couple of office docs and youtube or spotify running....this is a little worrying. Specification wise the laptop should be able to run the with very little hassle. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 13" and a Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus to use on it, both of which I got this week. For the most part they work together really well, but when the Yoga is in tablet mode and I rotate the orientation from landscape to portrait, it will no longer register the pen's signal. Even weirder, it won't register it after I flip it back to landscape, or even when it's back in laptop mode. The only way to use the stylus on it after it does this is to restart the laptop altogether. The Bluetooth still works; I can still open apps by clicking the end of the stylus. I just can't actually write anything with it. Is there an easy fix for this, some setting I can change that I'm missing? Or does this indicate a bigger problem? If anyone can shed some light on this, it'd be much appreciated.
