Problem with the sound on my Acer

Q: Problem with the sound on my Acer

Hi

I have an Acer netbook and all of a sudden the sound on it sounds warbled. Like the people or music is under water. It kinda crackles in and out. How do I go about getting this repaired.

Thanks

Preferred Solution: Problem with the sound on my Acer

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,

I like taking stuff apart and putting them back together to see how they work and i have a Acer 5742z with windows 7 and took it apart a couple of times and it worked every time i put back together but this time... the external sound doesn't work.. saying that the sound works on my TV fine.... so wondering how does the sound work on a laptop is it a wire i haven't put back or something... if so were about is this wire if not how do i fix it.

Thanks for your time

A:Acer 5742z Sound Problem

The sound jacks are soldered onto the motherboard. Unless you broke the soldered connection or shorted it.
If there is no damage to the motherboard, boot into Setup (Bios) go to Integrated Peripherals. Look for Onboard Sound, if it is disabled, using your Enter and Arrow key, Enable it.
Boot into Windows, Go to Start/Search and type devmgmt.msc, right click the devmgmt results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Device Manager see if there are any devices with Yellow flags, if so, these devices need drivers. Go to the Acer drivers page, Acer | Download Drivers and Manuals | Acer Official Site type in your make and model# and download the Audio driver for your model.

Dear friends:

I work in Radio and TV stations as the person in charge of placing
the music and sound effects for Radio and TV shows, and I need your help as soon as posible..I Was using the Sony Sound Forge 8 in a HP laptop with XP Pro and the program was working really good, but I had a problem with the HP Laptop and I have to run and bought a new computer,as a computer technician, the warehouses make me good prices in computer parts and computers,so I bought an Acer Aspire 4520 with the VISTA OS
and now I dont know if it is the computer or the Vista that make the sound output real bad like when you are listening to an old cassette machine,it start slow and after a while you start listening acceptable..I don't know if it is syncronization beetween the data that is in the hard disk and the program or it's that I need a driver,I download the Realtek audio driver just in case, and installed but I still have the problem..But if I play any music in iTunes it sounds real good,Can you help me?

A:Problem with my new Acer computer and Sound Forge 8

I checked around the web, and it appears that Sound Forge 8 doesn't support Vista.

You can try to run it in Compatibility mode: Right click the program icon and select 'Properties' at the bottom. Select the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box and use the drop down to choose which mode.

If that doesn't work, then the Vista compatible version hs available here:
Sony Creative Software - Sound Forge 9 - System Requirements

I am having an issue with the sound on my laptop. It will play videos and music, but at some point the sound just....freezes. It is like when a CD has a scratch and it plays the same two words over and over again. Most of the time the screen is not frozen and I can click to exit out or shut the computer down. The sound, however, does not stop when I shut it down or unplug it. It only stops when I remove the battery. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hope this helps you.

Hello everyone, Lately, I am having a lot of problems with my sound. The sound of my Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-572G-7620 is very low even when I turned it to 100% volume. It has been going on for a few weeks already and today I updated my laptop but it did not help at all. There are no more updates; my laptop is up-to-date. I already checked the settings of my sound and there is no limited output on. The standard is Realtek High Definition Audio (SST). Anyone has a solution for this problem? If you need more information, just ask. Thanks already.. Regards, Redtje

Just purchased an T3-710 with i7 and AMD R9 360 GPU. When I connect it to my Yamaha RX-v3050 AVR I am experiencing buffering of music and the sound during streaming content. This is the same set up as with my previous PC that worked flawlessly in this regard. I have checked all settings, cables, and drivers are up to date. I have 12 gig of ram. Seems that the more work the GPU is attempting the worse the buffering of the sound(if I attempt to watch a visualisation within my music program the sound is pausing contiuously). The picture does not suffer. This seems like a pretty basic process that just about any card should be able to accomplish (not like heavy gaming here). What am I doing wrong ? Can anyone offer me some advice with my Acer Aspire V5-571? I have been having some issues. When I got the laptop in 2013 it had Windows 8 and a 750GB hard disk. I know that Windows 10 is not officially supported by Acer on this particular model. However, I updated to Windows 10 earlier this year when it was free and when the Windows 10 upgrad advisor said there were no issues. Last week I purchased a 960GB SSD to put into the laptop to replace thr 750GB drive. The SSD was recognised fine by the BIOS and I have installed Windows 10 on to it. However, I am having issues with a clean install that I did not have on the previous installation of Windows 10. I am having some disk errors in Event Viewer:   I also noticed that in my previous installation of Windows 10 on here (which was uphgraded over 8.1), my hard disk controller in Device Manager was listed as an Intel SATA AHCI Controller (series 7 I think) but now it is Standard SATA AHCI Controller, so a generic Windows driver:  Is this driver sufficient? Also, on my previous Windows 8.1 -> Windows 10 install on the 750GB drive, I had a feature of the Acr/Realtek sound driver called Dolby Surround in the system tray in the bottom right - I could right click it and turn it on or off. Well I have downloaded the driver from Acer's driver section (called Audio_Realtek_v6.0.1.7027_W81x64_A.zip) but when I install this on my clean Windows 10 install on the SSD, although it installs the R... A:Acer laptop sound not working

Did the speaker just all of a sudden stop working? If so, this is rare as speakers are a relatively simple electromagnetic device. They usually just don't just break somehow and stop all of a sudden. This is probably another issue like hardware or driver related. Check the Device manager and see if there is anything amiss there ans see if you can restore the driver. I am guessing driver and not MB' hardware malfunction like the realtek audio chip or whatever audio manufacturer is on-board. since you said the headphones still work.

Got my 5672WLMi last week and out of the box the sound worked fine on boot. But the minute I started playing a game or a media file it starts breaking up and stays that way. I work in IT so did the following things:

Updated to the latest Realtek HD Audio drivers
Uninstalled and re-installed the sound device
Updated to latest Bios
Restored to factory settings
Clean format and re-install of XP Pro SP2

None of these worked. Could it be a hardware problem?

A:Help! Bad sound on new Acer Aspire 5672WLMi Laptop

I'm guessing that you mean that the sound is "Stuttering"???

If so, the moat probable cause is that the "LOAD" that the game puts on the Laptop is too much for it to process the sound properly. In normal laptops the sound and video are onboard units (size issues). So, when doing heavy processing, the onboard units are impacted negatively.

Most lappies are not for gaming.
