Preferred Solution: "HTTP 500 Internal server error"

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

You can try reading this:

but it would help to know if it ever worked, what Operating System are you running, how do you connect to the internet and what browser and versioin are you using?

Hi,

I need to read some rss from the internet; so am using the System.Net.WebRequest / System.Net.WebResponce method.
However whenever I compile and run, I get an error on the System.Net.WebResponce line saying "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error." Now I am able to get to the rss through IE so I do not know what is happening.

Code is below:

Code:
System.Net.WebRequest myRequest = System.Net.WebRequest.Create("http://d1.com.au/d1xmltv.asmx/GetPrograms?channelid=free.Sydney.10&date=2006-02-27");
System.Net.WebResponse myResponse = myRequest.GetResponse();
Using, MS Visual C# 2005

Any Ideas why this is happening?

Thanks in Advance

Hey there everyone.
Our Outlook emails across the whole company aren't currently receiving external emails and anything sent out externally sits in the outbox and doesn't go anywhere.
When we try to log in to the browser version (the out of work access) we just get the words "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred."
We do have full internet access in every other way though (I can post this from the same server, no problem with out PDQs)
Following up on some online articles that particular error message seems to mean that either the server can't find the root directory for the requested location, or that the script mapping isn't valid.
Can anyone let me know how to check either or both of those those things, or let me know if I should be doing something else? All suggestions welcome!

This issue has plagued me for many, many years. Across WinXP and Win7, Outlook 2000, 2010 and 2013, 3 different AV programs, 2 different ISP's - DSL and Cable, automatic send/receive or manual, short server timeout or up to 5 minute server timeout. I currently use Bitdefender and have it set to NOT scan incoming email.

I often get email errors like "Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your settings... The server responded: -ERR Internal Server error'. These errors are always only on the receive side, never any issue with sending. I have multiple businesses and check 10 or more accounts with each send/receive. Sometimes I might go days or week with no issue, sometimes one or two accounts only will give me issues for a few days then go away. Right now I have 3 accounts giving me fits non-stop.

This is driving me crazy!! Does anyone have some other suggestions???

Opera 7.50 -- Print preview simply provides no response (sometimes shuts down). Straight print attempt = shutdown w/error msg ""has encountered a problem and needs to close"

Notepad -- "Handle is invalid."

IE 6.00 -- Print preview shows, but attempt to print leads to msg "There was an internal error."

MS Word 2003 -- Print preview shows, but attempt to print leads to msg "… cannot … problem with current setup"

I am using FileZilla FTP server app (version 0.9.23 beta). I am receiving a "450 internal error" in the logfile for a file transfer from outside of my network. Here's the scenario; A file is requested, retrieved and sent in a queue. As soon as the request is made, the remote site sends a test file to test the connection & login info (this works fine). Then later when the file is retrieved on the other end, it is sent. Here's where I am having a problem. It appears that the file starts (I can see the connection in the Filezilla Server Interface) and it starts transferring (I can see kbs moving). Then at some point it just stops transmitting & receiving.

The logfile shows the starting file starting but then no further entries.

Here's an example of the logfile entries:

Hi, I think this is the right forum for this question

I've been trying to access a site and it gives me a 403 error: forbidden access, or something like that. No part of the site can be accessed. Well, I tried to send an e-mail to the website to ask about it and my e-mail was sent back as it was blocked by something called spamcop and said that the IP "does not like recipient"... what in the world does that mean?

I've got an account on this site and can't get into it now because of the error.

I think my pc has some real major problems and im ready to throw it out the window.

Recently it has just stopped allowing me to google search. If I know the web page I can go directly to the address bar and type it in but if I tried to search that same address in google or any other search engine I get the above error. I honestly think this pc has been infected by something. I have completely uninstalled msn, mind you the kids are not happy by that move but I just have no idea what is wrong with our computer anymore.

I have tried using these programs to fix the issues and I use AVG anti virus protection:

If you have any advice for me other than chucking it out the window, please let me know!!!

I am having the hijacked home page problem that others are having. However, my hijacking started with the "coolwwwsearch" and then went to a "youfindall.net" page that, as described before, cannot and will not be changed to my regular homepage, "youfindall.net" is the page I'm currently stuck on. I have read some of the instructions about downloading the 'Hijack This' program for the 'coolwwwsearch' problem, is this where I start for 'youfindall.net' too? I am a novice to these forums and am quite computer stupid, but, I can follow easily understood instructions. If I do complete the 'Hijack this' instructions and save the log somewhere, (where?), how do I 'show you its contents'? Please be as basic and clear in your instructions as possible. Thanks for the help. ALF64

Hi,
I can log into my secure site then when trying to go beyond that, it seems to take along time ("timeout"?) to get to the next secure page. When it finally does I click to access my personal files and instantly I get the error message. I have tried to figure out when this started but it has been a while since trying to access this site. I have read that update 831167 for ie6 corrects this. I have ie7 and cannot put that update in as I get warnings that I don't have ie6 sp1 installed. Also, I have reset the settings in security and enabled all cookies.
Also, I have tried the microsoft "fix it" for the registry and needed to use my XP CD. Still not working. This is bugging me as I was able to use this site 6 months ago.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've been an active member on a design forum for the past year with the same username and password. This is what's happening now --

I go to the website, type in my username and password then click the Submit button. The page starts loading and then I get this: HTTP 500 Internal Server Error. I kept refreshing but still got the page error. The owner, administrators and developers had no clue why that popped up all of a sudden, so they checked my browser settings, upgraded Firefox, deleted cookies, cache and history.

I then went back to the site to try and log in again and noticed I was online. I tried to navigate through the site and access my account but couldn't. It was like I was there but wasn't. The Sign In button was still showing as if I wasn't online and hadn't log in at-all.

I thought maybe it was my computer doing something on its own so I created a new account and password. The new username and password logged me on successfully.

My question is... why am I not able to log in on my original ID and password but can login using the new one. Some really weird stuff going on.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I work remotely through an F5 VPN with RSA dual authentication.  Once inside the firewall and into the intranet, I run RDC and connect to my work computer.  This has worked without fail for a year, but a couple of days ago, even though I VPN in
with no trouble and have access to other features and locations within the company's intranet, when I click Connect on the RDC dialog box, I get "An Internal Error has Occurred."  If I try "edit" on the RDC, it shows my internal userID
and asks for my pwd.  Then it gives me the same Internal Error message.  It doesn't seem to find the computer through RDC even though ping and tracert do see it. I spent hours on the phone with company tech support and they assured me the remote
box is on and they were able to remote into it.  I can also ping and tracert the remote box while VPN is active - I just can't connect.  No changes have been made in any configuration since it was set up over a year ago.
I need ideas on how to debug this as it seems to be on my home client machine.  Are there any diagnostics or tools I can use to try to find the problem?  I need this ASAP to be able to work.

Hi,

I was doing some major partitioning work on my comp...just to re-allocate space and so forth throughout my two drives.

But i found out on one of my partitions on my second drive (while I was trying to resize it by making it larger) that there was a an error : "Error 1555 Internal file number does not match position" and the resizing process halted.

I consulted Powerquest's website for a solution to this error (please see: http://www.powerquest.com/support/primus/id2419.cfm)

The problem is that the solution requires me to go into the drive itself and run CHKDSK /F, but on my system I cannot even see my drive unless it is within Partitionmagic.

I can't even see the parition in "My Computer", nor can i access it by going in dos mode... the error i get is "system cannot find the drive specified".

How do I get my partition to re-appear, so I can be able to run CHKDSK on it???

thanks in advance,

Zach.

Since upgrading to Nero 6, I've been getting ongoing "internal error" messages while burning audio. Data & image burns run without a problem. Audio burns will sometimes succeed. I've noticed that the "internal error" problem occurs almost every time I apply filters, and sometimes when I don't apply filters it still happens. The "internal error" message pops up while I'm selecting tracks, and almost always when applying filters. If I get to the point where I start the burn process, I'm home free, with no "internal error" problem. This only springs up during the setting up of an audio burn.

I've had this problem through the last few versions of 6.0. .0023, .0019 and before. Had hoped upgrading would straighten it out, but it hasn't. I've tried different media, not that I think that would be the problem since the error occurs before, not during a burn.

I'm running Athlon 2400, 256 MB DDRAM, WinXP Home.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Dear Animex:

I had exactly the same problem, with the same hardware. This is how I fixed it.

01. Take a System Restore.
02. Use Add/Remove programs to remove Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software.
03. Rename C:\Program Files\Intel to C:\Program Files\Intel-Old.
04. Reinstall the software. I downloaded the latest version, 11.1.1.11.
05. Reboot when asked to.

Now, everything works.

Hi, I've been having some problems with my computer (Win XP home) and wondered if anyone could help out there.
A few weeks ago I left the computer downloading something pretty safe overnight (I've done it several times before) and when I came back in the morning some things were playing up. It doesn't seem to be a virus as the rest of the system is working OK and it doesn't show up on any scans. Most such as problems with the printer spoolers and IE I've managed to sort out but Windows Media Player is still giving me grief. I used to have wmp 10 but when I opened it it said the internal application error message, so I uninstalled it and rolled back to wmp 9. This worked for a while until then it started up the internal application error message. I've tried installing wmp 10 again many many times (including things to it that have been suggested in other forums like moving files to other directories) but it just fails claiming that "to update windows run windows media player 10 setup again". I've tried hundreds of fixes from various internet forums including re-regestring vbscript.dll and jscript.dll, uninstalling and reinstalling wmp via Add/Remove programs and even fiddling with the registry editor but none seem to work.
I've tried installing wmp 9 again but it just says "another newer version is already on your machine". I've tried uninstalling wmp completely by deleting the folder in program files but unsurpri... Read more

Thought I did it when I managed to fix the AMDA00 Error thing, then I could use the pc again, but then it came back roughly 1-2 hours later.

The screen tend to get green kind of stripes across it, sometimes the whole screen just freaks out, freezes and goes black or just instantly crashes.

Sometimes it comes a "Nvidia Windows Kernel driver stopped responding" Error aswell.

Ive added the DM Log Collector as a attachment.

I have XP with service pack 2 already installed. I tried installing sp3, following all the guidelines about being an administrator, closing all programs, disabling virus scanners and such, but consistently get this "internal error" as soon as the installation starts. The event viewer doesn't say anything useful, but according to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949384/ this is a problem with a funky product id. The solution is a problem for me, though.

The solution says I should go to the System Properties to get the product id. Well an abstraction of that product id is 69831-xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxx. Then it tells me to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\WPA\Key-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, and work with the fields in there. It predicts that there might be more than one key conforming to that format, and there is. It says I should pick the key that has the same ProductID as found in the System Properties, but they both have the same id and it isn't what I found in System Properties, it's 55285-xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxx. What do I do now? I have one product id in System Properties, and another that appears in two keys in the registry.

I have this major issue in 2 of my computers. I lost internet connectivity. I run on Wired DSL connection ( always on ). I did try to check ipaddress of my computer and it ends up with Internal error

" An internal error occurred: the system cannot find the file specified. Additional information: Unable to query hostname "

after googleing over internet i found that if we replace tcpip.sys from
c:\windows\system32\drivers
with a new version of tcpip.sys from
c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386

Tried killing some of the ghost devices from device manager ( non plug and play drivers with exclaimation mark / Band )
I tried winsock reset and loading tcp/ip over again with no success

Any help highly appreciated ... !!

A:"Internal Error Unable to Query HOST" when we try to Use ipconfig

ipconfig.exe should be found in c:\windows\system32 and have a version number of 5.1.2600.2180 for XP SP2. A copy should also exist in c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386

Ipconfig must be run from a command window; eg: Start > run cmd

ipconfig /all

If you still get an error, run eventvwr.msc and look in the event logs for more information.

I have a problem with windows saying my 1TB WD HDD isnt there. When I boot my computer up i can see it on the boot menu, but when i log into my computer an error message pops up and says "error: core library not found", and my D: is gone. I boot off of a 64gb SSD. It also seems the problem is getting worse, earlier I could access the HDD but it would randomly disconnect sometimes, and a restart would solve the problem. Awhile after that (few hours or so) it would disconnect whenever i tried to access it. And when i rebooted I could see it again, but if I tried to access it would continue to disconnect. Now whenever I boot I can see it in the boot menu but when I get into windows I get that error message.

A:2nd internal hard drive wont appear "error: core library not found"

Have you re-seated the power & data cable to the 1TB HD ?

Hi all,

I have a problem on using IE to visit any web site with return message "The address is not valid" always.

Symptoms:
1. my IE home page is set to "Use blank" which it should display "about:blank" in the address input filed. However, it initial address is now changed to "http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=76277" and the content area shows "Internet Explorer cannot be display the webpage."

2. Anyway, here is the major problem. Whatever I type, e.g "www.yahoo.com", "www.google.com", it just return "The address is not valid" in the content area and the address field shows "http:///"

3. I try to search some help on the net and it told me to use the comment:

ipconfig /flushdns

which may help. However, I got the error "The requested operation requires elevation." to run the comment. In fact, I have the administrator privilege.

4. On the other hand, my msn messenger works. i.e. I can use messenger normally. which means my network configuration is fine.

So, it seems that my computer is infected. Could anyone help on this?

Hi TimFF,
This might be related with the UAC settings, check this thread:
give full permission for the users in program
files folder
The steps in the above thread is not recommended.
For the short name usage, we may consider to create a directory-junction from
PROGRA~1 to C:\Program Files:
With the following commands:
mklink /J "C:\PROGRA~1" "C:\Program Files"

Not sure if it's related, but my DISPLAY is locked at 640 X 480.

I've got kind of an oddball setup so I don't expect anyone can solve my problem off the top of their heads, but I'm also unable to dig any deeper o it because I can't find any logs of the error itself. I'm hoping at least someone can point me at the logs
and then I can figure it out and share the answer here.
What I'm trying to do is remote into a Sever 2012 R2 VM I created in Azure from my Windows 7 workstation. For security reasons there are a couple extra steps that include opening a secure connection, creating a local tunnel from some port locally to the
server at port 3389 and then connecting to localhost:<some port>. This
was working on my previous workstation. On my new workstation, I have a lot of leftovers from my old one thanks to a backup and restore process that the hardware team does when swapping them out. When I go through the same process now it fails with a very
unhelpful "An Internal error has occurred". I can RDP to other servers and my college can still RDP to these VMs in Azure, but I specifically can't connect specifically to these VMs.
I can't share an image yet, but it's really just a popup with the header Remote Desktop Connection that says "An internal error has occurred."
Is there a log or something in event viewer or some kind of utility I can run to get some more details about the error?

I've checked Application and Services Logs\Microsoft\Windows\TerminalServices____, and there's nothing there.
Is there so... Read more

My Dell laptop is displaying this message upon booting up. I have no idea how to start fixing it or figuring out whether it is fixable.

My dell charger is worn out, and the computer has not recognized it -- it still gets power to the computer, but the computer does not recognize it as a dell charger, and therefor I can run the computer on AC power but it cannot charge. I haven't needed to use my laptop out of my house in awhile so I haven't really worried about it, but can the fact that the battery has been totally drained for awhile (about a week, I think -- and totally drained, if I unplug the charger it turns off immediately) have something to do with it? I have it on a working charger right now trying to revive the battery, but the battery light is not on so I don't think it's even charging.

If trying to charge it doesn't help, what do I do? I can still run setup and the boot menu but I have no idea what to do when running these.

A:HDD Error - "Internal Hard Drive not detected"

"My dell charger is worn out, and the computer has not recognized it"...

Your post is confusing. Are you talking about the AC adapter (charger) here? If the charger isn't being recognized by the laptop, how is the charger able to power the laptop?

The laptops internal battery is probably dead. They don't last forever. What about this " HDD Error - "Internal Hard Drive not detected"...?"

This means that there is something seriously wrong with the hard drive. This hard drive stores all your data, pictures, email and Operating System

I have a new Gateway Media Center Home ed. about 6mos. old. A few months ago, every time i start it up, a pop up box comes up . It says "RegTool" at the top,a red triangle w/an ! mark in the triangle. then "Internal error. Unable to read local file". At the bottom, the usual "ok" box. I always click "OK" and get on with my e-mail (thunderbird), the internet ( foxfire), or my itunes, photo projects, etc....... So what does this error message mean, and how do i fix it? Also, lately when i click on an email once, it will open. Always before, i had to click twice to open mail. What's going on here? I am a "newbie" to pc's, so please use simple terms!! This is my first post. Thanks in advance for any help Dawn

I have just installed a Netgear wndr3400 Dual Band Router. On installation it asked to update software to which I selected yes. Part way through I got the following "nic helper - internal error", "application error". After this all installation goes smoothly but in the end not one of eight computers I have will connect wirelessly. They see the network but will not connect. Geek Squad had no idea how to address this other than another router which has the same problem. Does anyone know how to get my computers to connect. I am running Vista and 7 on various machines both desktop and laptop.

I made a program for a friend about a year back in Visual Basic.net. She's now changed from using Windows to Ubuntu and has asked if there's any way to get it to run under that system. As I understand it the Mono project is meant to provide some support for .Net in Linux, but isn't as advanced as the Microsoft framework. In order to ensure that I make it mono compatible I've been trying to recompile it in monodevelop and I've resolved all of the errors that appeared. Unfortunately it still won't let me build the project, giving the unhelpful error message
Unexpected Error: there has been an internal error in the compiler (VBNC99999)
On double clicking the message, it complains that there is no file named <MyGenerator> in the project folder. Googling reveals all sorts of very different causes for this message, none of which seems to apply to my program (an encrypted diary).

My code in .net compiles fine with Option Strict on, Option Explicit on, and Option Infer off. However it still doesn't work under Mono.

Good afternoon, all. I'm hoping you can help with this annoying problem.

The Internet Explorer error: "HTTP 404 - File Not Found" is continually thrown up on my screen. Message says that "coupon.com" cannot be found. I assume this is a left-over from my deletion of SurfSideKick 2 last week. Obviously, I've not been 100% successful. I'm running Windows 2000 (Version 5). I would appreciate any guidance you can offer. Thank you.
