I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I'm new to this forum so apologies for not providing all relevant info right away.
The issue I'm having is that my computer will BSOD randomly while playing games such as CSGO, Civilization V and Europa Universalis IV. The time I play before a BSOD occurs seems random, although its usually before 30 minutes of gameplay.
In other instances, my computer simply turns off without warning, and then restarts itself without even presenting a BSOD. Attached is the BSOD file I've been instructed to upload. Any help would be much appreciated

If I need to provide any other details just say the word.

Hello friends.

For more than 6 months now, I've been having BSODs after I quit or alt+tab the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The BSODs don't seem to have any sort of pattern aside from not happening at all unless I have already played the game in the current session. They can happen right when I close the game, some time after I've closed it (5 minutes to 5 hours - feels really random) and also while I'm outside the game, but the game is still running in the background.

I don't know what else to do. I have already bought a new laptop - but it happened in the previous one too. I have formatted the current laptop countless times. I have tried multiple drivers for every single piece of hardware I have. I have plenty of friends who have the same BSOD (with multiple games), and none of us could solve it, but I'm the one who has been facing the problem for the longest time now I believe.

The BSODs are usually "Page_Fault_in_Non_Paged_Area" or "System_Service_Exception". Files always seem to be "win32k.sys" and "cdd.dll". Since I've last reformatted this laptop, I didn't have that many occurrences, but putting all of the BSODs together, I've probably had more than a 100 of them.

My system specs:

Laptop: Avell B155 Max (it's a barebones Brazilian brand - Avell)
Processor: Intel Core i5-4200M Haswell @ 2.50 GHz
Mainboard: no idea. No software recognizes it. CPU-Z lists manufacturer as "Notebook", model as "Titanium B1... Read more

My PC started crashing suddenly after installing Windows 10. I obviously thought it was fault of the OS so I reinstalled 7 Ultimate x64, yet the crashing kept on happening. I haven't done any changes to my PC and it's been stable for months. Last change was GTX970 in May. i5-3570K is overclocked to 4,4GHz but it's been rock solid so I doubt it's the cause of issues. I'm honestly completely out of explanations.

Setup: i5-3570K (4,4GHz @ 1,32V), MSI GTX970 (Stock, was OC'd before), ASRock Z77 Pro3, 2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600MHz, Samsung 840 Evo 250GB, Kingston 60GB SSD cant remember model, 1TB HDD.

From what I can tell, the issue shouldn't be GPU, Memory, PSU or SSD/HDD drives. I doubt my OC'd i5 would suddenly start acting up as it's been stable and temps have been good (I'm running AIO water). I'm pointing the finger towards motherboard as it's been acting up once in a while, but I'm not sure if that makes any sense.

I've tried:
Reinstalling clean Windows a few times - crashes and BSOD here and there keep on happening with nothing installed apart from standard drivers, Steam and CSGO.

Reinstalling Windows to another SSD - no effect.

Downgrading to 3 different Nvidia drivers and been using 353.30 - maybe little bit less crashes, no real effect

Running Memtest86 for 8 hours - 0 errors

Running 3Dmark on loop for 2 hours while overclocking the card - stable as a rock, TDP 110% so PSU should be fine

Taking another memorystick out - no effect

Hi guys,

I've been getting random BSODs since two weeks ago. At first, I thought it was my hard drive that was faulty, however, I bought a new one recently and it's still happening. I still get about 5-10 BSODs a day when I'm browsing the internet and playing games. I have attached the dump files below. I hope you can help me with this problem.

Hi Sevenforum Members,
i hope you can help me with my PC problems.
My System:
Windows 7 64 Ultimate OEM Version (Installed myself)
- What is the age of system (hardware)?
Just recently bought a new mainboard, cpu, memory
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)
Reinstalled with the new hardware.

I already took some of your recommended tests to find out what is wrong. But i have not been sucessful yet.
I identified the FNETTBOH_305.sys as a problem with driver verifier. It got rid of it and my PC is already running a lot more stable.

My PC is often crashing with a BSOD when playing games. It has not happend if just browsing the Web or anything else not related to 3D graphics so I suppose the first problem is solved.

I made a zip file as described. I hope I did everything correct.

If you have any idea what causes the BSODs please get in touch.

Sincerely Alexander

This computer is brand new and just over a week old, and when playing a game, upon either tabbing out, or back into the game after having been tabbed out, I sometimes get BSOD. For example, I was playing Metro 2033, then I tabbed out and open Chrome to look up something, then when I tabbed back into the game, I was greeted with a BSOD. Using BluescreenViewer to see the minidump files, the issues seem to be caused by win32k.sys and ntoskrnl.exe. Just wanna figure out why this is happening and I'm worried if it's my hardware. To my knowledge all drivers are properly updated.

Adhyan23 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! There may not be much you can do -- as this is what laptops are designed to do -- reduce processor performance when running on battery to conserve power. You might look in Power Options (in Control Panel) to see if there is an option to set your laptop to Maximum Performance.  That will prevent the processor from automatically throttling back when on battery power -- but it will SERIOUSLY reduce the time it will then run on battery power. Laptops are not designed to do high-performance gaming when running solely on battery power.

I've had this build for over a year and have been playing both CSGO and GTA with no problems for quite a while. The first BSOD came whilst using the shadow play feature that Nvidia offers. I turned shadow play off and did a fresh install of Nvidia Experience and updated the drivers for my GPU (Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 ti). This seemed to work for about a a day or two and then I had another BSOD. Since then I have been experiencing BSOD irregularly. Sometimes I can play any game for hours with no problem, other times I have BSOD as soon as I start the game up. I've checked for memory errors, updated the GPU driver, scanned for malware and I'm still at a loss. Would greatly appreciate any insight. Thank you

So lately in the past couple weeks outta nowhere I've been not being able to play CSGO because it will just crash and BSOD after a while of playing (like 10-30 minutes). However, while playing any other game like Overwatch or Rust it doesn't crash at all and the BSOD issue doesn't occur. So I just decided "fine, I won't play CSGO", but now it just happened whilst browsing the internet a couple weeks after CSGO bsod became a regular thing. I have the dump files and this is a formal request for help, so thanks to anyone that reads the files and can give me any info on what I can do. Thank you

My PC is fairly new, bought it around a year ago.

Since around 2 months ago I started having my first BSOD and it was just once so I haven't really thought it should be fixxed. I could never be more wrong :P. So I went ahead and didn't do anything about it until now, since this week I get almost every day 4-6 times a BSOD while playing Counter strike global offensive. No other game I get BSOD except this one. After the PC crashed it will give me the error of atikmpag.sys not sure what it meant, tried to google it and tried the fixxes but none worked so far.
So here is my question to you is someone here able to help me out :?

Hello,

At first thank you for your time.
I am getting crashes when playing game like CSGO or when stress testing with prime 95(blend test/torture test threads =4).

While playing csgo it sometimes just freezes and then csgo isn't working anymore, if i then check the system log file i get WHEA warningslike: A corrected hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core.
But sometimes it also freezes my whole pc and then when i check the windows-system logbook i see this error:
Your computer restarts, and a critical error message that resembles the following is recorded in the event log:

Log Name: System
Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power
Event ID: 41
Level: Critical
Description:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

And when i Stress test with Prime 95, it will test like 5/10 minutes and my 4 cpu's get to 91 degrees C, and then it will crash. And on the next startup i have this error:

Hi,
I have recently played Counter Strike - Global Offensive and encountered a BSOD that never happened before. I'm running the latest Radeon Drivers 16.3.2 and played CsGo at windowed fullscreen mode if that matters. All spec same as in my profile info.

On some forums I have read that this can be RAM related, but I don't know for sure since the BSOD might obviously have many causes.
Dump attached. Hope we can figure this out

Thanks inadvance!

New fresh install of windows 8 updated to 8.1 with all my motherboard drivers etc up to date. Display drivers are the newest Omega drivers from AMD.

I installed steam and decided to install csgo to my ssd/C: drive since it's my most played game. Now I can play the game fine but after a short amount of time the game and display drivers will crash giving me a black screen and sound loop. I let it sit there for a while so I could get a bsod and crash dump to happen.

Since then I also updated my ssd to the latest firmware and reinstalled my AMD drivers and the problem still persists. I have no other games installed at the moment so if you wan't me to check if the crash happens with other games let me know.

Welcome aboard, EvilPengy.

Let us start from applying a known good stable driver version.
Download and install Driver Fusion.
Reboot the computer in Advanced Boot Options, safe mode. Search Driver Fusion in your start menu, and remove all components of your nVidia display driver.
Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, Drivers > Beta and Legacy; search there with your cards particulars for GeForce 306.23 Driver, dated 13.9.2012 and install it.
Then, stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

And, Stress test the video memory, too.

I've recently reinstalled XP Home on a customer's computer. He is now getting BSODs after leaving it idle for 15 mins -1 hour. He was having some filesystem related troubles earlier (following the reinstall) but I think I have those resolved. He reports seeing BSODs during those troubles, but doesn't remember the exact message. Since I (probably) took care of the filesystem problem, the BSODs have only been coming during idle periods - so far anyway. I'm currently typing this on the computer in question.

Here's some of the information from the BSOD:

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

STOP:0x0000007A (followed by a few other memory addresses)

(something) win32k.sys (something)

I've turned off the screensaver on the unlikely chance that might be the trouble. I'm about to run a memory test, and after that, load up Knoppix and do a dd if=/dev/urandom | gzip -c >> /dev/null to see if I can cause some cpu-usage problems. Any other ideas?

A:BSOD on win32k.sys

So far I've run adaware and avg (more killing time than hoping it'll fix anything). Run memtest86 - no problems, as expected.

I've turned off the screensaver and put on service pack 2. I haven't had any BSODs while I've been here - check the timestamp. I've decided to forego the cpu intensive thing. I'm thinking of just leaving it at that - give it a week, if no BSODs turn screensaver back on. Any other ideas?

Hello guys. Since i upgraded to windows 7 ultimate x64 (clean install) i keep taking a frustrating BSOD about win32k.sys. Besides i can't find tuner driver (winfast tv 2000 xp deluxe) this bsod makes me think seriously of returning to Xp Sp3. Usually i noticed that this error occurs when i have a game minimized and i chat on yahoo messenger. (especially when i have CS in taskbar or lineage 2). My system specs are:
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
Intel E8200 2.66 Ghz
4 GB RAM (4x 1GB Kingmax KLED48F-A8KI5 at 1066 Mhz - these are OC to 1066 as they run at 800 standard, and timings are modified 5-5-5-15 with +0.2 V from 1.8 to 2.0).
Seagate 320 GB Sata II
Winfast Nvidia 8600 GT which also causes some problems as once in a while BSOD is about cdd.dll when i exit games and temperatures of GPU reach easily 70 degrees dunno why. Sometimes windows 7 says that nvidia driver has stopped responding and recovered.

So what could be the problem guys? It's rly frustrating. I attach to this message 2 minidumps if they can help. Thx in advance.

Later edit: I mention that i had run memtest86+ for 2 hours without any problems and i posted this after a lot of searching documentation on Google. Some people say it might be a hardware problem. Well why windows xp hadn't crashed and windows 7 does if it's hardware? If it was hardware problem all systems would have been unstable. Anyway it could be because of OC.

IRQL_EQUAL_OR_NOT_EQUAL (well something like that)

the first two sometimes display win32k.sys

then after rebooting and sending the report to M$, firefox opens and says it's something to do with a driver.

These BSODs happened after I bought a Sidewinder X3 mouse if that helps

Edit; My thread seems to have messed up the format of the page, so i'm sorry :3

Hello, first post Prepare for a long one, I truly appreciate it if you can read it. I'll try to bold the bits that seem most important.

I'm having a little issue with my PC, though it's not really causing any major distress at the moment.

First a little background, which might also explain why i'm getting the BSOD if i'm unlucky enough that it's my ram or OS installation.. I have a PC (shock horror) that's around 1.5-2 years old. After about a year or a little more the hard drive started to click and freeze, and eventually went to hell; I got that replaced at the beginning of this year (got the PC back on the 30th January). Sort of ironic that it happens right outside of the warranty. But yeah - as of the end of January brand new hard drive and freshly installed Vista.

So for the past 3 months i've been running comfortably, faster than before in fact. I mostly use it for gaming, playing a free MMO and Battlefield 2. No problems running games. 2 days ago an old MMO I used to play was re-released. The graphics are very old and outdated so my PC runs it easily, albeit in a very low resolution. Last night, I had the first BSOD i've ever had on this PC. Unfortunately it was set to autorestart so I didn't manage to get all the information down, all I managed to grab was that it was referring to the file "Win32k.sys". I was running th... Read more

Hi there,

Another point is that it always happens whilst I'm editing, I use the computer for a lot of other demanding tasks, effects creation etc and sometimes games and it never happens during those.
There seem to be a lot of 08E errors around and I don't know if theyre all the same or what so I thought I'd better get some direct advice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

None of my components are overclocked in any way.

First crash is 22370-01. Just before the crash I was watching a movie on my main screen and was opening a new tab in firefox. A while earlier my graphic drivers had crashed and reset. I was running BOINC manager which tends to take up a lot of CPU although I've capped it at 50% and a couple of hours earlier I had updated Itunes which wanted to restart to afterwards.

Second crash, 21028-01 was maybe three to five minutes after I had rebooted from the first crash. I was watching another a different movie whilst browsing the web for information on my BSOD.

I'm using Windows Media Player Classic for my movies with the CCCP codec pack although it would be weird if that started to cause problems now since I've used it for a really long time without any problems.

I might also mention that I've had my graphic drivers crash and reset previously but never before a BSOD.

If there's any other information that is nee... Read more

Hello,

I have quite suddenly been getting frequent BSOD's. It only flashes for a moment but one of the more recent times I did catch the win32k.sys referenced in it. The only thing out of the normal that has started in concurrence with this is Mozilla Firefox is crashing all the time now. Any help would be appreciated. I have attached the requested TSF_Vista_Support Folder but the Performance Monitor would not generate a report for me. After running the tests, it stated Error: An error occured while attempting to generate the report. The wait for the report generation tool to finish has timed out.

Hi -

There were no dump files in the attached zip. Please check \windows\minidump - copy all out to TSF_Vista, zip & attach to next post.

I did look through the other files and see many "Live Kernel Events", which are just 1 step below an actual BSOD. Live Kernel Events + win32k.sys usually are indicative of an issue with video transitioning from user mode (win32k) into kernel code territory.

I also noticed in WERCON the repeated crashing of this app since November 2009 -
