Win 10 update problem for Lenovo X201 Tablet (ISD driver)

Q: Win 10 update problem for Lenovo X201 Tablet (ISD driver)

After several minutes into the update I got the message that the ISD driver must be uninstalled! Why it couldn't tell me that before when checking my system for the update is a MS glitch I think. I stopped the update.

This driver is for the touch screen in tablet mode I think so will that facility not work in Win 10 or will there be a Win 10 ISD driver?

I cannot find out from the Lenovo support sites but from Googling 'Win 10 update for ISD driver' I got the Lenovo page link http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds041384 which I don't understand.

Can anyone please enlighten me on this matter - thanks.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Win 10 update problem for Lenovo X201 Tablet (ISD driver)

It relates to WinTab which is for pen pressure - nothing about ISD driver - this is my non understanding.

Hi,there is a lot matrices are installed into x201t. Models also depend of the backlight type - LED or CCFL. I'm not sure whether any supported matrices models are compatible with your laptop. Also there are different LCD cable assembly and LCD rear cover assembly depending of the backlight type.To ensure what matrice you have and what's compatible check out on Lenovo' site parts list of your laptop by its [laptop] serial number. Support site doesn't answer a question by MTM only.I think it's impossible to fit non touch matrice into the tablet because of the different size (width). Compare the width of x201 and x201t.

UPD
Service parts DB says your laptop has 12.1-in. WXGA LCD panel, LED backlight (300-nit LCD), FRU 45N6092 or 45N5388.

Well, it's not that difficult but you need to disassemble a lot of parts. This is fairly easy to do if you closely follow the instructions of Lenovo's Hardware Maintenance Manual, which you can download from here: click me!

I have upgraded my X201 Tablet to Windows 10 32bit. As far as I can tell, everything is working, including the WACOM drivers and touchscreen.  Wireless has worked perfectly so far, not sure about Bluetooth as I don't use it. My only issue is that the buttons on the display do not work. The power button located on the display does work. I tried installing the Tablet Button Driver II and it will go through the install but the buttons do not work.  This is the download link:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds027627 The document claims Windows 10 compatability and was Last Updated :08 Jun 2015. On inspection, all the files extracted are dated from 2012 and when trying to manually run the software Windows throws up an error that the software is not supported on this PC.   I removed and reinstalled and noted that the driver information page when running the installer does NOT have Windows 10 listed as a supported system. My assumption is that the driver that they have linked on the download page is NOT the most current driver and is infact the driver for Windows 7 from 2012. Does anyone know how to contact Lenovo to get the correct driver posted to the page, or know of an alternate source to try and find it?

Some time in the last month, the tablet function of my X201 Tablet PC conked out.  I'm running Windows 7 (32 bit).  Perhaps there was something wrong with some driver update that was installed either through Windows Update or through the Lenovo Thinkvantage stuff.  I never managed to figure out what was wrong.  I tried installing various updates and drivers from both those sources, and from Wacom, without success.  I couldn't find any thread on the internet that discussed exactly this problem or suggested a solution.  It was a frustrating week! I seem to have solved the problem, though.  Through Control Panel -> Uninstall programs I found and uninstalled everything from Wacom, and all of the "Ultranav" driver stuff from Lenovo.  Altogether there were 6 or so things that I uninstalled.  Then I reinstalled Wacom's tablet driver (ISD Tablet, version 7.1.0-8), and then pen's back, and, indeed, working better than it ever has (the alignment calibration has been terrible since I bought the machine).  I haven't reinstalled the Ultranav drivers, and will probably refrain from doing so. I hope this helps the next frustrated Lenovo tablet user.

When only the cable was working I checked for both adaptor driver's updates - 'they are already up to date'. Then the WiFi also stopped working. My adaptors are 'working'. I've been round their Properties Tabs and all is OK. MS diagnostics only say that there probably is a issue with the drivers. 3 other computers plus 3 tablets use the shared router's WiFi without any problems and only 2 are ever used at a time so it's not overloaded. The router is OK. I started the Lenovo Hardware scan but it just went on loading and never started for 12 minutes - a clue here? At least I can still use it offline. Luckily I have a PC to investigate, but as yet no luck even from another forum. Any help please

I have just upgraded and activated my ThinkPad X201 Tablet PC (i7 L640 @2.13 GHz, 4GB DDR3 RAM) to Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) from the original Windows 7 Pro (64-bit). The tablet appears to run fine in Windows 10 Pro. However, the Task Manager's Performance tab page shows the CPU run at the frequency between 1.17 and 1.20 GHz, even as the tablet takes several tasks and runs at 60% and above and the tablet's power mode is set to high-performance.

What went wrong? What are the things that I need to check? Please advise.

Got a new tablet pc. Put in a new hard drive and installed vista ultimate x64. Works great. I was suprised how much smoother it runs.

The 11a/b/g/n wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter isn't recognized by vista. My friend said it might be a problem because it doesn't work with 64 bit software. Went through the long process of installing vista 32 bit version. Same thing. It was recognized by vista.

So now here I am with 64 bit vista installed again. I downloaded a couple drivers that it could be from lenovo website. It still didn't work.

Before I started this whole project I went to the microsoft upgrade site to check compatability. While running XP, the site said that I would have to download the wireless lan driver and install it after i installed vista. It also said the fingerprint reader would need to be manually installed but I don't care about that.

Any suggestions?

I first brought one about 3 and a half months ago. It would lock up and occasionally get blue screens. I called their tech support, ran a HD scan which turned up good, downloaded all necessary drivers, still did not fix the problem. So I sent it in for repairs. The problem persisted, and I sent it in another two times. The problem persisted, after a Hard Drive, System board and memory replacement. I exercised my warranty to get it replaced.

Guess what? The new one has the exact same problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do, because I just dont understand!

A description of the problem: The cursor will simply turn into that little blue circle and the program (internet browser, Microsoft Word, etc.) will simply cease to respond. One time, I had task manager open when this was happening. I noticed no memory spikes or anything. There were 3 different programs running, each one stopped responding as soon as I clicked on it.

Hi Trent,

I have had the same problems you mentioned, and have been unable to determine a common denominator for when my computer decides to freeze up. Even if I leave the computer alone for a couple of hours, it is still frozen when I come back and I have to manually restart the computer by pressing and holding the power button. The problem has gotten worse in the past couple of months, and I sometimes have to manually shut off my computer a couple of times a day.

I'd love to know if you or anyone else has found a solution.

I have started to experience frequent crashes (freezes and sometime BSOD) with my x201. Nothing gets written to my minidump directory. I am unable to get the system to write to a memory.dmp file using the posted instructions.

I ran memtest86 through 10 cycles with no errors. I am attaching the compressed output from the windows_NT6. As well as the perfmon report. As you will see I've disabled Bluetooth devices since the drivers weren't loading.

Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to Optimize Windows 7.
To repair the damage done by the possible use of TuneUpUtilities, you will most likely need to do a Windows 7 Repair Install or revert to the factory system image after backing up any important data. However, you can try running SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations.

Hello everyone, I have a X201s notebook - which is a very decent one with i7, 8GB and 256GB Samsung PM800 SSD. I have been running on 8GB since day one in 2010 when I got it. Now I need more RAM and tried to upgrade to 16Gb but the 8GB sticks I bought froM GEIL or G.Skill just does not do. I have read that Corsair produce similar results. The BIOS does recognise the RAM and show it as 16GB, however Windows 7 stops booting where the graphical part should appear (the flying balls), so does Windows 8 when I try to install it. No MS OS can be installed either.Windows Memory Check runs but VERY slow. I would say it would take a month for it to complete. Tried both BIOS 1.36 and 1.38. Question to Lenovo - any plans to support 16Gb for X201?  So far I seen people tested GEIL, G.Skill, OWC, Corsair - neither of them had any luck. Thanks. Question to all - anyone got it running with 16GB?

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Can you please post the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga 14?
Are you using Windows 10?

I may suggest you first to try to update the Wifi drivers and maybe some other of the system driver of you Yoga.
Here are my general tips:

1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers (use the full model number of your Thinkpad).

After that we can try a little bit more. For example I also like to test it on some other Wifi networks just to be sure it is not a compatibility issue with the Wifi Router.

Hi good people,

So, I'm on here like thousands of others with intermittent wifi issues. I upgraded from 8.1 to 10 yesterday and everything works very well except for losing my wifi connection every 30 minutes to an hour.

My wireless adapter is a Broadcom 802.11n
the driver I'm using is Broadcom version 6.30.223.256

I've updated the drivers and the same loss of wifi happens. I've rolled back the drivers and the same loss of wifi happens. I've even tried a driver directly from the lenovo site that is a Cybertan Liteon driver that is the latest version for windows 8.1.

I've also unchecked the box in the power management page. Then rebooted.

I've also used all the commands, in the command prompt admin that start with 'netsh'. Then rebooted. The same thing still happens.

So, I'm up for new suggestions including compatible drivers from different manufacturers.

I'm really hoping there's a Z585 user on here that has solved this issue. According to the Lenovo web site this particular laptop has the latest drivers on the site and none of them are working so far.

A:Lenovo Z585 losing wifi after driver update, driver rollbacks, 'fixes'

First, is your laptop supported for windows 10 on lenovo website.....meaning are there drivers and software packages for it? Have you tried downloading the 8.1 driver for it and then running it in compatibility mode?

Hi everyone, I shut down my laptop and the next boot up took very very long , like 15-20 minutes. And the audio symbol was like that on the photo (a red cross on it)  I tried to install the driver but somehow it didn't work. Then i decided to format and reinstall windows. btw, im on win7. After new installation, i have the same problem. I could install he drivers and everything seem to work but there were still no sound and when i click on sound symbol or go to any settings about sound, my laptop is lagging. Boot time is still that long. I disabled and uninstalled everything about audio and now my laptop works fine except no sound  anyone has idea what could be wrong ? Thanks in advance

My laptop is overheating and fans are running like crazy due to this driver! It's using 30 CPU!! I have to stop the process in task manager manualy every time I restart or after hybernation. So far I've managed to find one incomplete solution to the problem- I've downloaded widows batch file that is supose to restart the driver but I'm not sure how to make it do so constantly, so again I have to manualy stop the process milion times per day. Very annoying
This driver is found is windows/system32 and I could maybe delete it but I'm afraid I won't be able to use my graphic tablet and I need it for graphic design. Hope someone has better solution? Please help!

I downloaded the 'driver' on the gateway website:
http://support.gateway.com/support/d...&uid=263185599

after downloading & Extracting the file. a 'read-me' file pops up.

it reads:

=============================
Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install the Tablet PC button drivers for the notebook computer models listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below.
Installation

1. From the Start menu, right-click Computer, and then click Manage.

2. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.

3. In the left pane, click Device Manager.

4. In Device Manager, click the plus sign (+) next to Human Interface Devices.

5. Click Tablet PC Buttons, and then from the Action menu, click Update Driver Software.

6. The Hardware Update Wizard displays. Click Browse my computer for driver software.

7. In the Update Driver Software dialog box, type or browse to the C:\Cabs\D20113-002-001 folder. Click Next.

8. Open the D20113-002-001 folder and confirm the selection of the qttabbtn.inf file. Click Open.

9. Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
=======================

I get stuck at step number 5.. I do not have a 'Tablet PC buttons'!! (this is the reason why I need to download it..).. it seems to me this 'driver download' is actually an update for the driver. and not the driver its self.?

I downloaded other drivers from them, for my computer and they all worked great.. they all had easy 'install... Read more

Brittni-

After opening the qttabbtn.inf file (installation script), I found these alternative names for "Tablet PC Buttons." Try finding one of these names in the Device Manager:
"Quanta Computer Inc."

"Quanta Computer Tablet PC Buttons HID Driver"

Hello everyone,

yesterday, 9.4.2016, windows update installed update with this name "Lenovo Ltd. driver update for Lenovo System Firmaware V 001". The problem is, that after that, my keyboard started to "stuck" at Mechwarrior game (do not even have to be in game, login screen is enough and if I alt+tab, it is stucking in windows too). Every half a second there is slight pause, whene the pressed key is stucked for a few moments and if no key is pressed, than you cannot press key for a few moments. It is quite annoying. I updated keyboard drivers but to no help. I wanted to uninstall that Lenovo update, but there is not an option to do so, unlikely other windows updates.

My question is following, anyone knows, what that update was about? What firmware was updated? In device manager system firmware version is still unchanged for half a year. And I was unable to find anything about it over the internet. Also, since I have no idea what was updated, I cannot revert to older version.

Thanks in advance to everyone.

Edit: Forgot to mention my notebook is Yoga 500, 15-ISK.

Hello, As the title says, I have problems with the ATI driver. I have a Lenovo G510, with both an Intel HD 4600 and an ATI Radeon R5 M230. I just reinstalled windows 10 home edition. It automatically installs a driver for Intel HD 4600 ( v20...) as well as a driver for ATI Radeon ( v15 ), but I don't have the ATI options available ( I'm thinking about the switchable graphics one ) so I'm forced to try and download a driver from AMD site. I'm trying to install it but the installer froze when installing the actual driver and after I force shutdown and try to restart the laptop, the booting stops/blocks. Can anyone help?

Can't login into my account so repost my question: In 2013 I bought Lenovo C340 All-in-One with Windows 8 activated, CPU Intel Celeron. Because Win 8 was very buggy I upgraded to Win 8.1 in January 2014. After the upgrade everything was fine only the CPU usage started to be very high during browsing images-heavy sites and sites with Flash Player/animations/streaming videos and during downloading. I tried to update graphic card driver but the system said and still says I have the latest one I need. Probably it was customized from Lenovo for this specific machine and Win 8? This June I upgraded to Win 10 hoping the high CPU usage will be resolved. But no, it is even worse. I changed anti-vir from AVG Free to Avira Free but this was very small help. I had this question posted in Microsoft Answers, Adobe Help Forums, Ten Forums etc. I installed Intel AppUp(SM) center and it detected outdates and updated the chipset but the update was refused by the system and also typing became slow and messy. I tried again with the same result. In Intel's site I read I that if I bought whole system I should ask my manufacturer as being unable to update the driver might be because manufacturer's changes. I suppose updating graphic driver would resolve the high CPU usage as CPU usage was alright in the original Win 8. I'm desperated as I'm online almost 24/7. I don't play online games but use some online art/drawing tools with Flash Player and also I browse many images and having my CPU frying is ... Read more

Hi. We have not seen any updates to this package since september, so i hope Lenovo could release a new sccm driver package, as a lot of drivers have been released since then, that fixes some annoying issues.

Hi. Since i can't post in the enterprise solutions forum, i'll post my request here.Yoga 460 has not been out for more than a few months, and in that time, pretty much all drivers have been updated, as is normal for a new model. What annoys me is that i have to run system update on all new laptop installed by SCCM, since there has not been a new SCCM package released since the original one, that fixes several important issues. Therefore, i request that Lenovo releases a new SCCM package with all the latest updates. Thanks!

I just got an E540 and upon a Windows install, after updating the AHCI driver, the screen glitches out (crazy colors, lines, etc) and the system locks up. After a reboot, during Windows startup, the screen glitches out again and it completely powers off. System restore removes the driver and restores the ability to boot.
I've installed the driver from both Lenovo and a newer one from Intel and get the same result.
Windows has the driver already and I'm not opposed to leaving it the way it is, I'm just really wondering about this issue and would like to eventually update.
This happens on both Windows 7 and Windows 10, by the way.

Thanks in advance!

-Randy
