FIrefox "302 moved" error and Google "This document has been moved here" error

Q: FIrefox "302 moved" error and Google "This document has been moved here" error

Dear BleepingComputer folk,

My laptop is running Firefox 40.0.3 under Windows 8.1 (64-bit).

The Problem

Two nights ago my browser (then Firefox 40.0.2) started opening some webpages extremely slowly, simply refusing to open others and producing a "This document has been moved here" message for others (see below screenshot - the link would appear to go to whatever I searched for, but I never clicked it).

These various problems were affecting familiar websites that I have bookmarked and regularly open, such as Facebook.  This seemed to be in some way related to the cache, as it was not affecting new URLs that I had not visited previously during that browsing session.

SCREENSHOT #1 - result of attempt to visit https://mail.riseup.net via browser bookmark:

In addition, when using Google Toolbar (but not https://www.google.co.uk/ , which appeared fully functional) to search for anything I would receive the same: "This document has been moved here", but with an additional "302 Moved" message.

SCREENSHOT #2 - result of attempt to search for http://www.facebook.com/ via Google Toolbar:

Attempting to access attachments in gmail also produced a similar message (I don't have a screenshot of this, but I believe the message there again differed slightly, saying that the document was "temporarily" moved).  This is what I encountered first, and unfortunately I did click one of the offered links.  Nothing appeared to happen.

Attempts to resolve

I scanned with AVG Free, Malwarebytes Free and SUPERAntiSpyware Free, and none found anything.  In the process I reset the computer and the problem appeared to be resolved.  But today it has returned, just as before.  It appears to be intermittent in its effects, but I suspect a malware infection.  I also notice that our internet access here at home seems to slow for all four computers on the network when this problem is active.

The only possible malware source that I can think of is that I had that day downloaded 7+ Taskbar Tweaker from this link (which I believe to be the website of the creator).  I did google it beforehand and all the comments seemed to be positive with no mention of malware, but that is the only possibility I have managed to come up with.

My problem appears to be similar to the problem this bleepingcomputer poster had, so in case helpful I have run MiniToolBox as they were initially advised to do, and posted the result under the spoiler here.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

Firefox has been freezing up on me, and when I close it down, I get a bluescreen error. It also happens a lot of the time when I close Firefox down normally. This was happening before I updated to the latest version of FF. I am running Windows XP, and have recently started using ZoneAlarm and Avast on my system.

A:Firefox closes = bluescreen error? (Moved for the mozilla/Firefox Forum)

Hi,

Can you give us the error in full that you are getting. Also, I would check and make sure that ZoneAlarm and Avast are allowing FF to connect to the internet.

Cheers!

Hi
In response to Dan's (dtae) posting entitled "sponsored links" on left in Firefox" I too have just got this infuriating problem.
The sponsored links on the left are not solely Google related nor it would seem solely Firefox related!!!
In Firefox the left links are present in a Google or Yahoo search.
They are not present when using IE or Safari.
However, they are also NOT present in Firefox when using the Google related search 'Locate Me'.
I have also run 'CustomizeGoogle' in Firefox and this does not touch these particular links.
I have run various malware scans and nothing has been thrown up. Nor has my constantly running PCGuard found anything!
I will keep an eye on Dan's posting and hope the above info will help.

Sounds to me like you didn't plug the floppy drive back in correctly. If the cable is backwards the drive won't work for instance.

Is the tape drive IDE or is it on the floppy controller too?

Hi - I'm pretty sure I'm infected but figured I'd start here in this forum. I have already run AVG, Spybot, and Malwarebytes - all of which found something and removed it, but my issue persists.Description: When I type in 'google.com' I am taken to the correct location. If I click on any results I get this '302 moved' error and it looks really suspicious with a redirect link. I never clicked on the link. If I do a 'yahoo' search it works fine - unless I click on a link that has google in it. I am also getting occasional 'error 404 nginx' that also looks really bland and suspicious. This machine has been good to me - I'd like to keep it going if it can be saved. Can you help me?Justin

The same thing happened with another computer I had used in my previous job (Windows 98 OS). Hi
I really hope that I am in the correct forum and apologies if I am not!

First I must explain, I am a complete novice at this and do need things explained to me in nice easy baby steps. However, I do appreciate any help and support given.

I was sent here from the forum on PCAdvisor because after lots of helpful suggestions to cure my Malware problem, they were all unsuccessful.

I have a "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services" error message when I load up my laptop. I can load both Firefox and IE but neither does anything. However I do have an Internet connection, as I have Avast AV and Carbonite backup running in the backgound.

Initially to cure this error, I have run Avast AV, Spybot, Adaware and Registry mechanic. I have also run Avast AV in safemode. I have also run right click on Avast's console and from the dropdown menu that appears selected a scheduled boot-time scan. Then I selected 'scan all local disks' and clicked on the 'schedule' tab. Avast asked for a reboot but before windows loaded it scaned for viruses and malware. I had no errors.

I have downloaded Malwarebytes to a memory stick and subsequently to my laptop. But when I tried to run it, I got Error code 732 (0,0). However, it did still scan, once I pressed OK to this and it came across 2 pieces of Malware, which I deleted.

I then disabled Avast AV and ran Malwarebytes again but still had the same Error Code.

Then I went to Microsoft support and tried this "Ho... Read more

Good afternoon,

I have two problems I would be grateful for help with. McAfee AntiVirus and Malwarebyte scans have shown nothing.

Adverts - I have unwanted adverts in either of the bottom corners of my browsers (both Firefox & Chrome). Often look like an iphone but usually using my browsing/searching data to promote something supposedly relevant.

"This document has moved" - something hijacks my browser on a frequent basis taking me to a different page than I wanted.

Thank you in advance for any help. I hope I have scanned and posted everything correctly.

Greetings and Welcome to The Forums!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.

Hi Guys,
Firstly i'll start off by saving hello and thank you for your help.

I had to move my old mans HDD into my PC to remove some viruses. I also want to backup all his information onto a partition on my PC.

When i tried to directly copy all the contents of his My Documents folder, it denied me access, like it would if you were a low access user trying to get into the admin's my documents folder.

If i put the HDD back into his computer, loaded windows, and removed admin rights from his user account, and then moved the HDD into my PC - would that work and allow me access to those files?

Thanks for your help,
Marshall

Is there a simple way I can retrieve this document??

How do i get it back in all programs? at the moment i have to use the short cut,the file is nolonger in all programs

A:Moved Program By Error To Desktop

Right click on the program on your desktop, select Properties, and tell us what the Window says about the program. What program is it?

If it opens to the General tab - we'll need the information about file type.
If it opens to the Shortcut tab - we'll need the Target information near the top of the box.

Hey guys, I've been having a problem for a while now and i couldn't find a solution to it. I've been getting these errors lately :

(Program Name).exe - Bad Image Error
The Application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\zakupuju.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

When I start up my computer, the login in box appears and after I log in, two of these error messages appear before my icons on my desktop or start menu appears. Then around 15 more error boxes appear before anything starts up (Such as Aim). But after I click "OK" on the error messages all my programs work without a problem. Also, every time I open any program on my computer such as firefox, internet explorer, notepad, paint, ect..the same error message appears. But once again once I click "OK" they work normally.

I read the "NEW INSTRUCTIONS" post and here are the file/info I received from the programs. Also, thank you for the help in advance.

Hello and welcome to TSF.

Please note that the fix may require more than one round to properly eradicate. Stay with me until you're given the "all clear", even if symptoms diminish. Lack of symptoms does not always mean the job is complete.

Kindly follow my instructions in the order they are presented, and please do no self-fixing or running of scanners unless requested by me or another helper at this forum.

Please note that the forum is very busy and if I don't hear from you within three days this thread will be closed.

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools.

To disable Kaspersky Antivirus:
Please navigate to the system tray on the bottom right hand corner and look for a sign.right click it-> select Pause Protection.
click on -> By User Request
a popup will claim that protection is now disabled and a sign like this: will now be shown.
You succesfully disabled the Kaspersky Antivirus Guard.

Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed o... Read more

Hi,

I switched my laptop on today and have been unable to open many programs and I get half a dozen or so error message and programs crashing as soon as I have logged in.

'The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b). Click OK to terminte application.'

I have received the following security warning and notifications from SONAR/Norton:
vrt86fa.tmp (amongst other tmp files)

W32.Virut.CF

I am using Vista Business SP1.

The only thing that I have done recently (last 24 hrs) that gave me a warning message was install Adobe Acrobat 9 from the official site, other than that I have not knowingly downloaded or installed anything and have not been on any 'dodgy' sites.

I ran a HijackThis scan, here are the results...

Hi,

the malwarebytes log states "no action taken" - did you copy the log before deleting the files found?

If you haven't done so, allow malwarebytes to delete those files.

Click the "show results" button, make sure everything is selected, then press "remove selected"

The detection that concerns me is the W32.Virut.CF, if your machine does in fact have virut, there is no recovery from that, you will need to do a total reformat, reinstall, so lets check for that and hope that it wasn't a positive detection:

Please do the following:
Please go to VirSCAN.org FREE on-line scan service
Copy and paste the following file path into the "Suspicious files to scan" box on the top of the page:
c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe

Click on the Upload button
If a pop-up appears saying the file has been scanned already, please select the ReScan button.
Once the Scan is completed, click on the "Copy to Clipboard" button. This will copy the link of the report into the Clipboard.
Paste the contents of the Clipboard in your next reply.

Please do the same for the following files:

c:\windows\explorer.exe
c:\windows\system32\ctfmon.exe
c:\windows\system32\spoolsv.exe

i don't like the attached message when i try to delete a folder that contains another folder.

why can't it just say something like "cannot delete folder as it contains a subfolder"?

i turned off UAC long ago, hoping to avoid this permissions thang...

That number is the Security ID for a user - as you are seeing a number rather than a name the user concerned is either from a previous OS or another OS in a multi-Boot system.

Hello, I'm usually pretty good at removing spyware and such, but this some seems potentially very delicate so I wanted to seek some help =)I'm not sure if this is all related to my current problem or not but it may be so I'll list it.First of all I'm running windows xp pro.A few days ago I woke up and walked to my computer to find the message "Error Loading OS" (I had left my computer on the night before). I popped in the windows disc and booted from the cd and windows loaded and functioned fine. I ran sfx /scannow to no avail, then just ran a chkdsk /f and that seemed to fix it. To ensure I hadn't installed older versions of my windows files I headed to windows update but I got the error: Error number: 0x800704DD. After googling this I arrived at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910341Which instructs me to check some registry files. Well when I browse there, in my Notify folder I only find a folder called System Safety Monitor (I have this program installed) with 4 values in it. But then below it is a folder called Notify_Disabled. Inside this is a folder called winmqx32, which has many of the values listed in the microsoft support article in it. I googled winmqx32 and it's apparently some spyware? But I'm not sure of how I should remove it because it appears to have modified the registry and I would rather not maim my windows install.Any help would be greatly appreciated =)

Hello and welcome to TSF

I moved this thread to the appropriate forum. If any of the directions tell you to post logs, post them in this thread DO NOT create a new one.

Look over these http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...oval-help.html
If you cannot complete any of the steps for whatever reason, just continue on with the next one until they are all completed, and post your logs in this thread where an Analyst will assist you. However, it is very important to make mention of any of the steps that you were not able to complete.

After you?ve posted your logs, please be patient, as the Security Team Analysts are very busy.

Hi all,

Newbie here, and I'm desperate for a solution to this.

Compy went weird a few days ago - broadband cut off and had to reinstall the modem which took a good 5 hours due to damn error messages, also spent all day doing system restore back and forward - anyway - broadband now works again fine BUT everytime I open up msn messenger/img burn/literally anything now apart from IE, OE and Napster, I get 0x00d5d3b0 "referenced memory at 0x00d5d3b0 could not be read" blah blah blah.

Now I've done a full registry scan and fixed some (although I'm waiting for my serial number to fix the rest as I'm using a shareware thing to do it), and I've done a spyware scan. I'm now lost. I'm still getting Dr Watson (if I enable him) shutting the proggys down with error messages.

Can anyone shed any light on what I can do now without reformatting the hard drive....... Here's my Hijack This log

I get the same message when I try to run Internet Explorer and AIM. I reinstalled Windows XP Service Pack 2, but it did not fix the problem. What else can I do?? I ran the Hijack This thing and got this...

Hello, I've recently built a new computer and whenever I play a game, usually for a extended period of time, but sometimes a short period of time(as in, its pretty random) the game crashes and I get the (0xc0000409) error.

The odd thing is, everything else crashes too, and I see random colors appear(everything becomes glitchy). chrome crashes, shockwave crashes, pretty much everything.

I thought it was my memory so I had it RMAed, can it be the graphics card or is it simply a driver issue?

A:(0xc0000409) Error - everything crashes [moved from Vista/7]

1st thing to try is drivers for the graphics card..

My PC has recently been hit with a IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL error. The error screen I get has this to say

"Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0xFFFFFa82c4281ab0, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF80002411557"

I have tried installing clean up programs in Safe mode, but when I do, it throws up the error screen and reboots again. I have .dmp files as well as an error event log, so hopefully that helps narrow it down some. Any ideas on where to start?

A:IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL error [moved from Vista/7]

one thing I can think off is to check you're Temps

does anyhting look like its overheating? check the bios or downlaod another programs to check you're temps

as I have seen IRQL errors = heating
thats not always the case but thats the first thing I check
