I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The sound card on my Yoga 920 died, and my laptop has been at Lenovo since 11/15. They initially sent my laptop back due to a missdiaganosis. I have been told they won't even recieve a new part until 1/1/2019. I have been assigned a customer care case manager, Delfina, who hasn't responded to my calls or emails for over a week. I'm traveling for the holidays and make use of the external GPU through thunderbolt 3, which is the primary reason I bought this laptop. I'm hoping this will get some attention so I can get some help. I've called normal customer service multiple times who have promised a callback from Customer Care Case Management within 24-48 hours multiple times. I just want to talk to someone to figure this out. Hopefully someone can help.

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Hello, all! About 7 months ago I have brought a Lenovoy Yoga 500-14IBD which has been working fine until now. Now I have an unrepsonsive portion of the screen. It is very wierd. I will illustrate with a screenshot:?As you can see, on the right side of the screen I draw some lines using touch screen which are interrupted on a very well delimieted portion. If I draw the line from left to right, when it enters that portion of the screen, it doesen't write anything, but it works normally when I get past that region and it continues to draw the line. To be more precise the touchscreen doesn't work in the given area:?I have calibrated my screen using windows 10 settings, but it didnt' help. The problem is there even on Ubuntu. I am guessing it is a hardware problem. Should I take my laptop to my warranty service or is it a different kind of problem? Thank you in advance for your answers!

My Lenovo was purchased back in 2015, so the warrenty is expired. Still, up until recently the touchscreen had been working fine. Now, no matter what mode it is in, it doesn't detect my touch. I have gone through every Google-searched solution I could find, none have worked.I have gone to device manager, checked the drivers for updates (they are up to date) but the window doesnt allow me to Disable/Enable the driver. I've used the lenovo website, the companion app and my windows control panel to check for updates but no changes to the touch screen. Running Windows 10 (64x) Solutions, or links to other form posts are appreciated.

I?ve been nearly 2 months without my laptop and have absolutely no idea what to do. Mid-July, I sent in my $3000 Yoga 920 for a repair on some minor hardware issues (speakers garbled, fingerprint scanner not working). Since this is my work PC, I asked for a turn around time from support and they quoted me 9 days. What a sick joke ? I finally received the laptop 35 days later from support, and it was missing the AC adapter I sent in with it. After finding a spare to charge the machine, I turned the computer on to find that the hard drive had been completely wiped and there was no boot device available! After spending hours on the phone with incompetent customer service reps, I was told the case had been escalated to a Customer Care Manager (case no. 03774804, Rep was Jason). They emailed me on Aug 16th saying that they were going to process a complete replacement of the unit once I provided some additional information. Flash forward a month, and I?ve sent 4 emails and called the rep directly twice and have heard ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BACK. Calls into the only customer service line I can find so absolutely nothing, as the reps (not based in the US, obviously), simply tell me that the case has been escalated to the highest level and that my rep will be in touch (they have obviously not). I have literally no idea what to do now, and am hoping someone from Lenovo with a brain will read this and offer some assistance. At this point, I want my m... Read more

I attached an image with the keys that don't work most of the time [in red] and the ones that work sometimes [in yellow] This is a software issue for sure. How do I know that? Because sometimes, I'd install something or some driver would get updated, I don't know the exact reason, and all the keys would work perfectly. Without moving the laptop from its normal position.I have had this issue for months. tried many solutions but nothing has worked. I have other issues which I think migt be related such as:- Lenovo Hotkey service cannot be started- Lenovo vantage was never able to start properly, it always closes automatically after starting it in one second, this has happened since the time I bought it 10 months ago. - Windows 10 and drivers are all fully updated. - Everything else works fine except for a few keyboard keys, and if I press them several times they somehow increase responsiveness, but again, this isnt a hardware issue.

Hi everyone. I can see that people with other similar style Lenovo laptops (Yoga 900) complain about the same issue so was wondering if there is a solution or an optimized version of this software. I did an update of the BIOS and the Power Management driver and still a constant power usage.  Once the laptop is flipped the YMC detects it and turns off the keyboard functionality to prevent accidental presses and that is pretty much all until it flipped back and enabled. And all of this requires a constant high CPU usage? Any help would be highly appreciated. I also tried rolling back to older drivers without luck in decreasing this CPU hog usage. To put such load on a i5 6th gen CPU really implies an inferior service integration....

I have some problems with the Lenovo software. Lenovo Account Portal does not launch Lenovo Companion and Lenovo Settings. Also, Lenovo Solution Center is missing from the Start Menu. The second problem is that some tiles are blank in Start Menu. Seemingly it's the apps that aren't Metro. I'm not sure when the problem started, but I think it was like that since I got the PC. If I right click the apps, the only option will be "Pin to Start", and with some apps: Share and Rate. Here's a picture of the problem:I did already try:Restarting the PC.Doing scannow, DISM, and scannow again.Fixing Registry errors with CCleaner.Updating BIOS and drivers. What can I do to fix the problem?

A:Extra mSATA on LENOVO 81C3 Lenovo YOGA 720-13IKB

Hi Helenvds1982,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking with the hardware manual (page26) and specs sheet shows that there is no extra slot for another mSATA on the model.

An option for replacing the storage with a larger (up to 1TB PCIe 3.0 x 4 NVMe m.2 2280) capacity can be a solution for needed storage space.

I hope this helps answer your query.

A:Lenovo Yoga 910 wont load pass the Lenovo screen.

Try getting into BIOS first and loading default settings. To do this, press the small "Novo" button (you'll need a paperclip for this), and select "BIOS setup". From there, use the arrow keys to get to the "exit" tab and select load default settings.

If this doesn't work, let me know.

I read other posts and none specifically addressed this for the 920 and the use of what is actually a good Lenovo config tool seems to be poorly documented.   I would think it would be the same for any Yoga model with Windows 10 and Lenovo Vantage installed.   I can't seem to find a version for Vantage, so hopefully this works on all versions.    1) Find and open Lenovo Vantage on your machine (use Cortana if needed).   This is the Responsive view and yours may look different...don't worry, options are the same.  Click on Hardware settings  2)  Click on Input (again, responsive view...whatever view you have should have this button labeled the same)  3)  This will open the Hardware Setting - Input UI.   Under 'Function Keys' click on the one that is labeled 'F1-F12' (should look like below, highlighted in blue) to make that the the Function the default setting for those keys...to further clarify: it will now be a Function Key (F1-F12) by default.    With this change, you will press the FN+ one of the function key for the Hot Key option (e.g. FN+F1=mute/unmute, FN+F2=volume down, etc.)     4)  Your change is already saved, so you can now X-out (click X in the upper right) of the pop-up windows created by that were created

Hi! I own a Lenovo Yoga 14-ARR (Ryzen 2500U), and there are tons of bugs in need of fixing, but how do we reach Lenovo and the development teams so they can actually be aware of the faults? BIOS- After latest BIOS/UEFI update the CPU clocks is downclocked to 400MHz when battery drops below 20%, after that the unit runs at 400MHz until hard shutdown (holding down the power button), charging doesn't help. one time it did get back again to normal speeds when plugging and unplugging the cable several times. This is NOT a windows power setting. The hardware doesn't recognize the monitors supported resolutions and refresh rates either. although they are fully working on other AMD GPUs with the same generation drivers.- External monitor issues - some resolutions results in flickering, not displaying correctly (even when using "GPU scaling"). and no it's not the cable. I have certified HDMI cables that can run [email protected] just fine on my other computer.- HDMI doesn't support 2560x1440 @ 120Hz, although the Ryzen 2500U should support it technically. Hello, guys.  This is my first post.  Please be kind. Been an Apple user ever since (Mac, iPhone, iPad, etc.).  But lately have been excited with the hardware from "the dark side", especially that of Microsoft (Surface Pro 6 and Surface Go) and Lenovo (Yoga 530). I've also been window shopping for a secondary device which can be used for most basic tasks like surfing the web, checking e-mails, social media, chat, YouTube and Netflix, and maybe working on some office documents like Word, Excel, PPT and Outlook.  Need something small and lightweight.  Seeing both the Yoga 330 and Miix 320 in the market, seems like their specs are exactly or very much the same, even the price.  Apart from their sexy form factors (360 convertible vs detachable), what other differences do they have?  I've seen the 4GB/64GB models of both of them. TIA. Additional: If you were to choose one, which would it be and why?

Initial problem:On the  29th June 2016 my laptop suddenly turned off and now only the backlit keyboard lights up and goes off again and the power button just goes on and off. After about 5 minutes of use before the error the screen went blue and shut down. After restarting, as it went onto the desktop the screen flickered constantly and was unusable. I then turned it off again and it wont turn on since. My issue now:Anyway after emailing lenovo, and sending it off they said it was the RAM. However after enquiring over a month after sending it off and paying for the repair they replied with:'We have received feedback from our repair provider in relation to your device in repair. Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone knows whether the Lenovo Active Pen is also compatible with the yoga 920, or whether only the Lenovo Active Pen 2 works. Moreover, I was wondering if the Lenovo Active Pen also looses contact when writing if you hold the pen close to the nub. Thanks! for your help

A:Lenovo yoga 920 compatible with Lenovo active pen

Hi huQbbTCi,

Greetings.

Lenovo active pen 1 is also compatible with Yoga 920 as shown in the accessories search tool here PART # GX80K32884. It would be less sensitive to depth perception but with palm rejection enabled then you may not have the same issue on losing contact with it.

It would also be favorable to have it tried first before any purchase specially if you have someone that have it and compare it with other active pens whichever would be comfortable and efficient to your writing style.

Hope this helps answer your query.

So I've had my Lenovo G50-45 for almost a year now. About 6-8 months ago, I installed Windows 10 and shortly after fell victim to the whole "Repairing Automatic Repair" loop. Time passed, I forgot about it and put it off. Sent the laptop off after learning that the motherboard had been fried sometime around late March. Received the repaired laptop in April and it's fine. I'm running Windos 8 but it's fine. I got sketched out by going back to Windows 10 after reading about the plethora of problems that people are running into.A few hours ago today, I got the same Repairing Automatic Repair loop.

Three months (maybe even less) of a supposedly brand new motherboard suddenly just gone up out of nowhere. This has to be a joke, right?

Hello,    I am looking to replace my aging Lenovo T420S and Lenovo x1 Carbon 1st generation. They have both served me well and I am happy with both.  I like the touch of Carbon but don?t use it that often. The machine will be perosnla machine but will be used for personal and business/work use. I saw the T460S and x1 Yoga yesterday at our IT department. I like the built quality of Lenovo T460S including keyboard but found X1 Yoga to be fragile. I couldn?t get my hands on X1 Carbon 4th generation and found out that it doesn?t have touch anymore. The weight difference is minimal between the three machines and I personally like the weight, feel and ruggedness of Lenovo T460S. Bottom line is does anyone have experience with these three machines? I can afford to replace only one machine now and it will be fully loaded (i7, 16GB and 1Tb PCIe-NVME drive). Is x1 Yoga rugged and reliable? The difference between X1 Carbon 4th Gen and T460S seems minimal. Thank You!Subhash

Hi to all!I have a huge problem:My laptop started to freeze and not starting apps so I rebooted it (by pressing and keeping down the power button).Next time it started, when showing the Lenovo logo and the loading spinner it took a lot more than usual, next it showed "Diagnosing your PC" and after a while the screen showed "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete"... and it's been like 12hours now. Panicking for my files the first thing I did was to download Ubuntu and create an USB bootable image to backup my files, this went OK.Then, to try to make my laptop to start I've tried, so far: 1) Power the laptop off and press the Novo button which lead me to the Novo Menu and when I choose 'System Recovery' I get a "Onekey recovery partition has damaged so do not lauch the main application" and I get send back to the "repairing disk errors..." screen. 2) Download , from Microsoft, installation media, made a bootable USB to get to the Troubleshoot options which are- Repair start: when I choose this, nothing happends either, same repairing disk errors screen again- Try to recover to a previous state: nothing happens even thou I have available recovery points, the computer freezes and nothins happens.(In case i'm not making myself clear, I took these 2 Microsoft solutions from this post:http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/windows-10-stuck-on-repairing-dis... ) Any other ideas? Hello, my Lenovo laptop running on Windows 8.1 has been stuck on "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete." I've never had any problems with it in the 3 years of using it. I turned it off normally, then in the morning it was started up, went normally through the password part, then it was supposedly loading too long, so my mom shut it down and restarted it and then the program asked to do a system restore to a previous point in time and now it has been stuck on "Repairing disk errors.." for over 16 hours now. There is only the power light on and the fan is working, as well as the keyboard, but the screen only shows the Lenovo logo and the "Repairing disk errors." text. Should I wait and leave it alone, or what should I do? Can I turn it off or will I damage it?

I have been for the past 2 weeks, trying to activate the keyboard backlight on my laptop but the Fn key remains stubbornly unresponsive. I can't seem to open this "BIOS" menu I keep hearing about, which I actually have no clue what it is. Every time I restart or turn on my computer I don't see any IBM prompt to press F1 during. A lot of people who seem to run into this issue seem to be running windows 8 but I am running windows 10 I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the problem. I don't know if the key magically got locked somehow of the key is just flat out broken but I can tell you typing in the dark is extremely frustrating.

I have this problem where it takes approximately 5 minutes to boot up my Lenovo Y500 (Windows 8, 64-bit) laptop. I had this laptop for almost an year. It was fine in the beginning, took around 20 seconds to boot. However, over time when I restart my computer because of the windows update or defraging, I noticed that it took extremely long to boot, like 5 minutes. It would be stuck on the Lenovo logo with the spinning circle for 5 minutes. After that there is no problem getting to my desktop. I assumed my HDD (1 terabyte) had a problem. I ran all different programs to diagnose the HDD but it all said it was in "OK" status. So, I did the chkdsk on the CMD and it prompted me that it'll start when I restart my laptop. So I did and now it's stuck on scanning and repairing drive (C: 27% complete for almost 12 hours. I am not sure how long I have to wait and if it's going to be 27% forever. I have approximately 250 GB / 1 TB on my HDD. I tried doing recovery but it would not work either. If I tried booting through safe mode, it would continue to do the same thing, Scanning and repairing drive (C 27% complete and stuck there. So finally, I tried going for the recovery USB boot drive since I cannot use the recovery built-in the laptop nor have the recovery disc. However, I was looking in Google how to make a recovery USB for windows 8 (64-bit) but it all looked like you have to be in Windows 8 in order to make a recovery USB drive, but I am stuck on the Lenovo logo screen. My 2 month old ideapad 305 in the last 24 hours stops responding after about 10 minutes. On the display I can see all the programs that were open and sometimes move the mouse around. I cannot however carry out any tasks such as closing programs, opening programs, restart computer, run diagnostics etc. The only thing I can do is a hard reset. I've tried to restart the computer in safe mode but it won't respond. Today I have noticed that the clock is frozen so the computer seems the have frozen at the point (see attached file it froze at 8:47 and it's after 9 when I'm posting this). From logging on I've timed and the computer freezers between 5 and 10 minutes later. Anyone know what the problems? How I can fix it in the 5 to 10 minute window I have when it logs on?
