Q: I've got a 'Football News App' in my taskbar and I don't know how to get rid of it.

I used Norton AV 2012 and it didn't pick it up. Can you suggest what else I might use? I was thinking about uninstalling Norton anyway.

Preferred Solution: I've got a 'Football News App' in my taskbar and I don't know how to get rid of it.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

If that does not work, download and use Malwarebytes.
It is free and should be used in conjunction with your AntiVirus. A good anti virus is Microsoft Security Essentials.

Many of our members scan weekly with Malwarebytes and use Security Essentials, too.

In the News app, personalized news can be setup by entering a search string. These are created under Topics.

Does anyone know what filter to add to have the results restricted by date (as only items for the last week) or to change the results filter to "most recent" rather than "best match". These are capabilities of Bing when searching in News on the web. So I thought they could be achieved in the News App as well. Other filters (like domain: ) work when added to the search terms. I don't know whether there is similar filter term for restricting the date of items displayed.

I have been a member of a football forum for a few years and have always been able to connect to the "forums" part. In the past week, I cannot connect at all. I thought that maybe I had a virus on my computer so I ran Malwarebytes & Spybot. They both found nothing. I use Mozilla Firefox and I reset it to default settings and that didn't work either.
I can connect to the site and everything in it except the "forums" part. When I try to click on this part, this is what it says: XML Parsing Error: unexpected parser state Location: jar:file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/browser/omni.ja!/chrome/browser/content/browser/aboutneterror/netError.xhtml Line Number 304, Column 68: <div id="ed_connectionFailure">&connectionFailure.longDesc;</div> -------------------------------------------------------------------^
It also says this: The connection has timed out
The server at forums.chargers.com is taking too long to respond.
*When I click on forums, the bottom left corner shows adx.myturfads and transferring data from pubads.g.doubleclick.net
Any ideas?

A:watching football on Sopcast

If it is streaming media, you will need to ensure that your connection is fast enough.

If it used to be fine and this problem has started recently, I would advise you to try a speed test at a few test sites to see if you are getting the throughput that you should be (speed tests).

You could also look for an excessive number of processes running when your computer is idle. To look at this press ctrl + shift + esc, in the window that loads go to the "Processes" tab. You should have no more than 40, and idealy it would be closer to 30.

does anybody know how to use the editor on fm 2005? could you explain to me how to swap teams into different leagues, could you explain from the begining?

A:Football Manager 2005

OK, first of all when you load up the editor if it asks you to make a backup of your game database, click YES. Things often go wrong when you're editing FM and backing up will save you a lot of stress later on.

When you've done that click on the Competition button on the left-hand menu, then select the competition that you want to edit the teams for. For example, if you want to remove Man Utd from the Premiership and replace them with AC Milan, you select "English Premier Division" from the list.

Then you click on the Teams button in the left-hand menu - this shows all the teams in the division. Highlight Man Utd (or whatever team you want to swap) by clicking on the little triangle/arrow next to the name of the team.

Then click the swap button just under the list of teams. A box will appear asking you to choose what team you want to swap them with. Find the team in the list (or type the name in the box), click on the team, click the Add button.

That should be all it takes.
BTW: Some basic help with the editor can be found in "fm_data_editor_guidelines.pdf" which should be in C:\Program Files\Football Manager 2005\

I have it on with the 27" behind me, but I want it up on my second 22 LCD right here, how can I do that, without getting a TV Tuner Card. or do i HAVE to get one?

Just think how amazing that will be all year long. to have football on one screen. Watching Tony Romo connect to Owens for a 64 yard Post-In TD with 2 minutes left in the game. (I'm sure it will happen a few times this year) and at the same time I could be shooting people on my other screen in FarCry 2 witch I'll have in a month as I've already ordered it. Or while shooting and blowing things up in Crysis Warhead. I've already got that purchased and can go get it September 15th the day before it comes out.

when i run football manager on my laptop, after an hour my laptop gets too hot and cuts out, it never used to do it, i haven't installed anything new or uninstalled anything.
Is there a way i can close all running programs and use just football manager so it doesn't use up as much of my 2gb ram ?.
Thanks in advance Dan

A:Football Manager 2009 Running.

It's not the RAM usage that's making it get hot, it's the graphics processor. You're playing for an hour on a graphics intensive game, so the CPU and the GPU are both working hard, and this creates a lot of heat. It's not surprising that it stops working after an hour, it's generating a lot of heat in a confined space.

Try to keep the laptop well ventilated, blow out the dust inside with compressed air, and if you have a laptop cooler, use it when you play.

Hi there,

I am new to this forum but looking for some assistance if possible?

Some friends and I are in the process of starting up a new Amateur Football Team for next season, 2013-14, things are going well but in order to stand out we want to have our own badge that is not something generic that you pick off of clip art or from the Suppliers! The Wife of one of our players has hand written a design for us that we love and want to use as our badge and would love it if there was anyone out there who could help us digitalise it for us as none of us are techinially minded and we have no idea of any places that we could get this done. Appreciate it is asking a lot however if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

The name of our Club is Denburn Athletic AFC and will be based in Aberdeen, Scotland. The idea behind the name is that the Denburn is a small river that runs through the heart of Aberdeen out into the sea, parts of it are now closed off however as most of our team will come from all over aberdeen, like the denburn flows all through aberdeen, as well as the history it has we feel it is a fitting name for what we wish to achieve!

Please view below and attached the hand-written design that we have, in terms of colour it would just be like for like, or as close to as possible, if FC could be added to the Club Name that would be great too.

As said, appreciate it is asking alot however any help would be greatly aprpeciated.

Please feel free to ask any questi... Read more

My computer does the following:

When I use a certain program called FFLM (fantasy football program) to upload webpages to a server, it crashes my computer.

This program doesn't crash anyone else's computer who uses it, doesn't crash my laptop, nor has it ever done so in the past.

This computer is about a year old, I put it together myself. It never crashed before I installed a CD Writer, but now that I have that unplugged, it still crashes during the uploading. I also installed a second hard drive about 5 months or so ago, so I'm not sure if that's the problem or not.

I tried disabling my Norton Virus software, still crashed.

My computer shows a message when I boot up about about my primary IDE channel not having conductor 80 installed.

I have my floppy disk and two hard drive on one IDE cable going into my primary IDE channel, and I HAD the CD Rom and an internal zip drive on the other.

It seems to ONLY crash during the upload process, nothing else on my computer makes it crash. In fact, it's been up and running for almost a week without a problem, until I ran the program today.

Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

I have a Medion akoya E6239 and I'd like to be able to play Football Manager 2016 on it. However, this requires 256 MB of video RAM, while my Medion only has 32 MB of video RAM. A:Football Manager 2016 video RAM

Since this is a laptop, which is really not designed for gaming, just has the bare minimum hardware requirements to function at all. You could try allocation more RAM to the dedicated GPU all ready.....if that's even possible with your model. You'll need to read your laptop manual for that.

Looks like a driver issue, download the newest graphic card driver and see if that resolves your issue, you may even have to try older versions of the driver until you find one that works.

The first thing I would do though is go to the games site and see if they have a FAQ on it already or a forum.

FYI, for better help we need to know more about your pc, what hardware is in it, what OS are you using and so on and so on.

Hi, this is my first post.

Running Football Manager 2005, after about five minutes or so of playing my laptop turns itself off. This happens on every occasion. I have never had a problem like this with any other software, including the Football Manager 2005 Beta Demo. However, the Football Manager community message boards are unable to help, since nobody else seems to have encountered this problem. I have told Windows not to reboot after a fatal error, but it seems to ignore this instruction. The laptop, without warning, turns off. When I turn it back on again the screen stays black and the laptop refuses to turn off again until I have pressed the button about 200 times (although I sense that may be a separate issue).

I have a Toshiba Satelite A-30 laptop, with 2.66 P4 processor and 224mb RAM, running Windows XP with service pack 2. This is comfortably within the limits of the minimum specs for the game.

A:Football Manager 2005 reboots my laptop

Donīt know if this will help but you could try it. If you install and use the programs CpuIdle and Motherboard manager. It takes some of the pressure of the cpu, something that games like fm2005 and earlier cm games put on it. So if your problem is cpu releated this could work. In the least these programs will improve the performance of your cpu so itīs a win win situation.

What operating system are you using? It looks like Windows 7 if I am reading the error correctly, if so you need to update to Service Pack 1 which was released about 6 months ago so you are missing numerous bug fixes and security updates.

It also looks like you are using an NVidia graphics card and the drivers for that are very out of date also.

So first thing I would do is update all your operating system software and graphics card drivers.
