2nd Monitor can driven ONLY by Nvidia!!! Intel igpu Do Not detect 2nd monitor (inspiron 7577)

Q: 2nd Monitor can driven ONLY by Nvidia!!! Intel igpu Do Not detect 2nd monitor (inspiron 7577)

My intel HD 630 integrated gcard can not detect 2nd monitor.
2nd monitor detected by nvidia gtx 1060 and driven by gtx 1060.
If i disable gtx 1060 on device manager, there is no way i get signal on 2nd monitor
Intel suggest it is Mobo problem, which hdmi output directly connected to nvidia gtx card. Is it true dell?
I dont want to enable my BOTH cards in order to use 2 monitor? It brings me awful battery performance.

Windows 10 is freshly installed (creators update) and drivers are up-to-date.

Preferred Solution: 2nd Monitor can driven ONLY by Nvidia!!! Intel igpu Do Not detect 2nd monitor (inspiron 7577)

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Once again, switchable graphics only controls which GPU is used for rendering. It does not change which GPU is physically wired to the display outputs, and all 3 of the features I listed earlier require support from the GPU that is physically wired to the display output in order to be used. Currently, Intel GPUs do not support any of those features, so in a system with the design you want, those features couldn?t be used even if the system had a dGPU that supported those features, because the dGPU wouldn?t be physically wired to the display output. I?m sitting on an XPS 15 right now that is designed the way you want and has switchable graphics with an NVIDIA GPU that supports those features ? but my system can?t use any of them because the iGPU is wired to the display outputs. Switchable graphics does not fix that. You can shout in Caps Lock and say things as many times as you want, but that won?t make you right. You clearly don?t fully understand how some of these technologies work and what they require, but if you still think I?m wrong, go do some research and you?ll find lots of threads of people asking why their laptops with NVIDIA GPUs don?t support G-Sync or VR ? or 5K displays, which is another one I forgot about. This will be the reason why.
Anyway, I?ve already correctly answered your original question ? you?re welcome for that, by the way. I?m sorry it?s not the answer you wanted and that you don?t seem to recognize why Dell implemented the design it did for this particular system, but I also don?t think I can explain it any better than I already have, especially if you?re now going to insist that you?re right and that I?m wrong, even though you?re the one who came here asking questions. So I guess at this point I?ll just wish you a Happy New Year.

There is a problem with laptops which use mobile GTX 1050/1050Ti/1060/1070. When we perform right click, click on battery icon or try to open display settings, system hangs for a second.

I confirmed that issue is also persist on 7577 + windows 10 17XX versions.

There is a few forum posts about it here at Dell.com.  To reduce or eliminate the problem, you have to turn off all the special effects that windows uses, like fade in and fade out and all that jazz.

Are we forced to only use dells nvidia drivers?  Thought these days we could use the official nvidia drivers in gaming notebook gpus. The latest 385.69 drivers cannot detect the 1060 maxq gpu. I even tried going back a few previous versions with the same result. I know I could use the nvidia drivers with ASUS and MSI notebook gpus.

Hello Guys,

Sorry if i am asking retarted stuff, i just want to know if it might be possible

I just got this my new pc, and i also got a monitor with it. The computer had a integrated intel video card, and an Nvidia 8500GT. Is it possible to plug the secondary monitor into the integrated intel card, and use the Nvidia for my main display?

Thanks in advance for helping me,

A:Dual monitor with intregrated intel card and Nvidia 8500GT

You would need to plug both monitors into the NVidia 8500GT and then configure them through the NVidia Control Panel. Generally speaking, if a computer has integrated graphics on the motherboard and a discrete graphics card is inserted, then the on-board graphics is disabled.

I've a new SAMSUNG laptop (Intel core i5 processor) running Win 7.

Device Manager shows that exist a (core i5) integrated graphic card (Intel HD graphics family) and a NVIDIA GT 520MX card.

It shows the laptop monitor (Generic PnP monitor) managed by Intel HD graphics family and not by NVIDIA GT 520MX...I tried to connect an external LCD monitor and same behaviour (also the new attached monitor is shown under Intel HD graphic...)

It seems NVIDIA card is not used at all....Why ?

A:Monitor managed by integrated Intel HD graphic and not by NVIDIA card

Welcome to the Seven Forums

That is normal with a laptop that has integrated graphics and a nvidia card, the nvidia card will kick in when it is needed.

my monitor won't detect an input from the gpu, and it isn't a cabling issue. i have no spare parts to test this with, so if at all possible i'd like to figure out what's wrong with it without taking it to a repairman or replacing parts needlessly.

the monitor won't display anything on screen, and will only show that it's trying to detect an input, then shuts off. it started humming a few months back, and sometimes i need to fiddle with the HDMI because no audio will play from the monitor. it's about a decade old.

i ran a stress test on my GPU a few months back and it passed. there's no artifacting / strange displays on anything; the only things maybe relevant are that on the night before my PC broke, i had a lag in an online game i was playing, but i was also streaming music at the time... the lag stopped a few minutes after i turned off the music and more or less went back to normal, so it's unclear if it was just a poor wifi connection or my GPU really dying.

the motherboard i only suspect because at the same time as my PC refused to display an image, one of the case fans stopped working. however, the case fan isn't broken, the pins simply won't register any fan in that slot now. i can turn my PC on with the start button, but i can no longer force it to turn off.

I'd like to check that I can drive a single '4K' monitor through my X250 mDP port at 60 Hz e.g. BenQ PD3200U (http://www.benq.co.uk/product/monitor/pd3200u/specifications/). The BenQ I mention can display 3840x2160 at 60Hz. Read various reports about the Intel 5500 only being able to drive this resolution at 30Hz but also read about some specific success stories. I only want to run this single external monitor, not connect two or more as many others have tried. I don't even need to use the existing laptop screen at the same time. So, are the mDP1.2 and the 5500 that the X250 have enough to connect with the BenQ PD3200U (it has all inputs DP, mDP etc)? The other question I have is that I have a dual boot of Linux Mint and it would be fantastic if I could find out if that OS could also drive the monitor. I recently bought an Inspiron 7559 laptop and then decided to clone the HDD with a Sandisk 1TB SSD. I also added another 8GB main memory. I replaced the drive and the PC worked just fine.
After a few days, I quick formatted the HDD and put it back in as a Data D drive. The day I did that Dell upgraded my BIOS and on reboot soon after a square block of white area appeared on the top left quadrant of either of my screens, the laptop or the U2415 (also brand new.) If I move between the screens then the other does not show the anomaly.
If I right click on the task bar and bring the desktop up the block gets painted over/filled with the background. However if I start an app, say a browser the block re-appears. I did Dell diagnostics which passed all the components and then also diagnostics via the BIOS and that also did not show any problem. I decided against the longer diagnostic for now.
There does not seem to be any issues but it would be good to solve it...maybe something came loose when I opened the back and replaced the SSD or the HDD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey i have bought new monitor since my old one sometimes work , sometimes doesn't.When i plugged in my new monitor which is LG TV 24MS53S Smart monitor the mouse has unnatural movements they sluggish and slow and hard to control same whit my tablet. After 2 days i noticed that under Device manager under Monitors it says Generic PnP monitor which is the monitor of my laptop (lenovo y510p) if i am not mistaken. While my monitor is under Audio inputs and outputs as LG TV-C NVIDIA High Definition Audio.I dont know if that what the problems is but i need help to fix my mouse. Also my monitor is connected via HDMI and also when i connect my mouse directly to my monitor it works fine but it can only be used for TV and apps, etc.

A:It doesn't detect my monitor as a monitor

The audio is referring to the audio signal for the TV. I want to make sure I understand you correctly, you are using the external monitor (LG) as your primary display, not dual monitors...?

If this is the case, go back into Device Manager, rt.click the Generic Monitor and choose "Update device driver". As long as the LG monitor is the primary display, and your laptop screen is off, 'Generic Monitor' is referring to whichever monitor is active. If you are using both monitors, then you should have two monitors being shown in device manager.

As far as the mouse feeling 'sluggish', do you mean it's just very slow? What is the screen resolution of your new LG monitor? Is it the same as the laptop monitor? If the resolution is higher, sometimes the mouse will seem sluggish when using a higher resolution, which means you might have to turn up the pointer speed in the mouse's control panel. Before you update the device drivers for the monitor (which may or may not be able to be updated), try reducing the screen resolution of the LG and test the mouse that way.

I have done all troubleshooting, I did not even have them set up to sleep, all settings are at NEVER.  In coming here, I have done all the fixes I can find for similar  that are posted for similar issues, the Windows Key + W... nothing.

Intel only periodically includes code for switchable (dual graphics) laptops with Nvidia graphics. Forget AMD graphics. Seems this driver doesn't have the proper code. Even then depends on the laptop. Acer accepts many generic drivers, not sure about ASUS.

P.S. : The drivers are the latest Intel release I get to work correctly with my laptop.

A:Won't detect 2nd monitor

Hi and welcome.

The only thing that comes to mind is have you had any weird computer shutdown which would have made your motherboard bios go back to default setup?
You haven't mentioned is you have looked into the bios to insure that the SLI mode is turned on.
You are using 2 video cards.Correct?

Give us a little more information about what you have done to troubleshoot.
Have you turned off power to your computer and both monitors?
Have you verified the cable connections on the one monitor that is not gettig a signal?

My gut feeling is that your BIOS is the issue here.

Let us know what your next steps.

Hi guys!

My computer can't seem to detect my 2nd monitor and since my Motherboard's Graphics ( HD4250 ) shows up in Device Manager as Standard VGA graphics adapter probably thats the problem.
Now the real problem is that, 14.4 Catalyst that i currently use doesnt really works for my HD4250 ( but for my HD7850 it works of course ). Last time i got my 2nd monitor working, updating the driver of the Standard VGA graphics adapter via Device Manager back in Windows 8.1 ( i use Windows 7 64 bit now ), but then Catalyst refused to work anymore.
Now when i try to update it, it says it already have the latest driver, no matter how many times i uninstall/install it. It may be very possible that i cant have both my graphics to work, but i hope there is solution for it, because i dont want to buy expensive adapter for my 2nd monitor.

A:Can't detect 2nd monitor

DeyLath, welcome to the Seven Forums.

The problem you are having is due to there being no support for the HD 4250 in the 14.4. The last driver to support it is the 13.9. You basically have two choices if you want to use 2 monitors,

1. Use the 13.9 for both the onboard and card.

2. Disable the onboard and connect both monitors to the video card if you want to use 2 monitors and newer drivers.

So, guys, I've just put a build together for a friend.

We've used the MSI R6850 Cyclone, which is a pretty hefty card with the most ridiculous fan on it.

Anyway, we're having an awful lot of trouble getting it to detect the second DVI port.

We're using 2x the same monitor, I've tested all of the cables and DVI-VGA adapters and they all work great, so does the second monitor if I plug it into the primary port.

Unplugging the primary monitor in windows makes the plug and play "dun-dun" noise as you would expect, but the second port seems to do nothing.

Theres nothing that I can spot in CCC that would be able to detect the second monitor, it's not being picked up by device manager either.

I'm an nVidia fanboy myself, so I don't know if this is actually broken, or if I have simply overlooked something major.

Last resort is to plug the graphics card into my own machine and test it, I can't be bothered with switching from nvidia to ati drivers and back again to do so though.

Any ways that I can run a decent test on this before I send it back?

I have also been looking around on the web, it would appear that this particular card has 1xsingle link dvi and 1xdual link, the dvi adapters that came with the graphics card are single link and the ports are both shaped for single link too, could this be whats causing the issue? Is it worth me running out and getting a dual-link dvi to vga adapter just to test the thing with?

It sounds to me like you might have gotten a bad card. I have an MSI cyclone myself, and haven't experienced any of the issues you are describing, but I am using DVI cables, and haven't tested adapters...

I have an HP laptop and I have been running it with dual monitors. I finally decided to upgrade to Windows 7 and after I installed it I noticed that the built in monitor of my laptop looked strange and when I opened the display settings to change the screen resolution and set the external monitor as a separate monitor rather than a mirror I noticed that only one monitor was detected and it was the external one (Generic non-pnp monitor on standard VGA graphics adapter) and the built in monitor does NOT show up at all.

I've tried the detection button, in hopes that the computer would read the built in monitor and I could fix the problem. This did not help. I tried unplugging/replugging the external monitor to no avail. I tried restarting without the external monitor plugged in and it STILL reads the built in monitor as if it is the external one. Is there anyway to fix this? I have not tried re-installing the OS, not yet anyways.

Any suggestions ?

A:Monitor Issues - Laptop Reading Built In Monitor as if it were my external monitor.

Only thing I can think of is to disconnnect the external monitor, uninstall any monitors listed and then reboot and hope the computer installs the correct drivers for the laptop monitor.

I have my Lenovo P50 notebook (with Windows 10) plugged into a docking station with 2 monitors connected(Samsung 32") . One monitor is using the standard analog cable and the other has to use a digital adapter to plug into the port. One of the monitors is not detected when I go to display setting and the screen is blank). While both monitors are connected to the docking station, if I unhook the digital adapter for the monitor that does work, the one that was not previously being detected then displays properly. I have tried selecting extend, and my IT helpdesk was unable to troubleshoot. Any idea how to fix this?-JB

my brand new ideapad 320 will not detect my second monitor which worked as expected with my previous laptop.  When I disconnect the second monitor the ideapad does react as if a device was disconnected, but when I try to extend the desktop to the second monitor the ideapad does not detect it.  What can I do to make the ideapad detect the second monitor?  Thanks

Just got a brand new computer and two monitors. Both monitors work just fine in the primary HDMI port. But the computer will not detect either monitor in the HDMI1 or HDMI2 ports. I've updated the drivers, disabled and enabled the drivers, gone to the individual websites and downloaded drivers, changed my screen display to extended...nothing. No matter what I do the computer will not detect my second monitor.

Here is what I have:
HP Omen 870c
Intel i7-67CPU @ 3.40 GHz
32 GB Ram
64 bit operating system
Windows 10 Home
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
HP Pavilion 27c Curved Display monitor
HP Pavilion 27ea 27" Full HD IPS monitor

I need some help fixing a accidental error I made.

While setting up to run a second monitor with my second HDMI jack, I accidently selected the VGA choice, from auto detect in the display settings. I cant find where to change the setting back to auto detect. I have been in BIOS and a few other places, no luck. I want to use the HDMI jack and can't since it is now selected to the VGA jack.

So can any gurus out help me?

Hey guys,

I am using a dual monitor set up with a radeon 5870 graphics card. I am using a samsun 45 inch LCD TV, and an LG flatron w2286l. I have been using the two displays on/off or a year with out a problem. The TV is running through HDMI, and the monitor is DVI-D. Yesterday I had a friend come over with a lap top to play some DA II. We unplugged my monitor, and ran an HDMI cable to it, to the lap top. The monitor claimed it had a conection, but promptly went to sleep. We never could get the laptop to detect the monitor. I switched the monitor back to it's normal DVI-D cable, and low and behold, it is no longer detected by my machine. This is a major problem, as I only used the TV for movies, and the monitor for everything else. I have checked all my drivers, everything is up to date. Does anyone have any ideas on where to start trouble shooting?

Thanks all for the help!

Hi all,

This is incredibly frustrating having spent around 5 hours on this already .

I have just bought two Acer V243hl monitors with one Nvidia Geforce7300LE card.

On startup, the bios displays on both.

Then when windows starts up, it only uses 1 monitor.

What I have tried:
I have tried to detect displays both through the display control panel and the Nvidia control panel and nothing is detected. Both monitors manage to display correctly if I start up with only 1 plugged in. For some reason the second display (plugged into the DVI of the 7300LE graphics card) only displays at a lower resolution.

Please help, I need my second monitor working!

I am clueless. Could it be to do with the fact that I have identical monitors?

A:Windows7 does not detect second monitor

When you right click the desktop and select screen resolution do both monitors show up there? If so by clicking on them the resolution should be independently adjustable

I just installed the RC and have been trying everything I can to get it to detect my second monitor. Both monitors are identical and worked in the pre RC version of W7 with absolutely no issues.

I used the Nvidia drivers from Windows update as well as the ones from the Nvidia site. Both will not show my second monitor.

If I switch the cables it works on the other monitor no problem.. It just will NOT detect it when they are both plugged in.

A:Cannot detect second monitor GTX260

Have you right clicked on the desktop and went into the Nvidia control panel and ADDED the second monitor. you need to actually add it. the NV control panel will find it. or do you know how to do that because you did on the pre RC?

Hi guys so i have 2 computers with the same problem, the 2nd is an old comp, so I'm not too bothered about.

I noticed my computer was getting a little noisey so i thought i'd clean all the dust out of it.
1st comp
i took the CPU and graphics card off to blow the dust out, also i blew air into the PSU fan.

The computer boots up, sounds perfect, but about 10 minutes uptime it will still be powered but my monitor just goes into standby, i tried with my TV too and the same issue.

2nd comp
I hadn't used for about 1 year, i tried hooking up to monitor and it just doesn't respond, i've tried with another monitor too and still the same, also tried using a different VGA cable. monitor remains standby, But unlike my other computer this one doesn't even display for 10 minutes!

Any ideas on what can be causing this? :suspiciou

A:Monitor doesn't detect PC

i took the CPU and graphics card off to blow the dust out...Click to expand...

What do you mean you took the CPU off? Do you mean the heatsink? The heatsink fan? If you removed the heatsink from the CPU, did you clean off the old thermal compound and apply fresh compound? If not, the CPU is overheating.
