I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

We've recently installed Server 2012 on a new Lenovo ThinkCentre M700 and unfortunately it's unable to pick up the network adapter. We tried the Windows 8.1 versions of the network drivers from the Lenovo site (as they share the same kernel) but they didn't work.
Have also tried downloading the server 2012 versions of the specific drivers direct from Intel's website.
Has anyone had any luck finding a server 2012 network driver for this machine?

I ordered the m720q tiny with the optional USB 3.0 card, not knowing that it would be taking up the space for the 2.5in drive enclosure. I understand that the drive enclosures are CRU so I should be able to change them myself. The question is: I have no idea how to buy these parts 01AJ940 01MN886 and 01EF683 here in Malaysia (where I am currently at). I've tried encompass, but they do not accept credit cards outside the US for orders below $200.00 Does anyone know if there's a parts center in Malaysia (or Singapore) that I can either call, order online, or worse comes to worst physically go to so I can get these parts?

Hi everyone, i'm having an intemittent problem between my Tiny M720q and my 2010 Toshiba HDTV via HDMI. Occasionally, if I turn on the Toshiba first then I cold boot the PC I get a message on the Toshiba TV that there's no video signal. If I turn on the Tiny first, wait a few seconds then turn on the Toshiba HDTV, then I have a video signal. (Successful 98% of the time) Sometimes doing the above i.e. turn on M720q, wait a few seconds then turn on the TV will also result in no video. That's rare although it happened twice in a row this morning. I don't think it's a problem with the M720q as once I get past that quirk the display never loses a signal. So my question is, if this is just a HDMI Handshake quirk?

As listed in the Platform Specifications, the M720q can be equipped with an optional 2nd HDMI output. I just got an M720q last week and I'm in need of a third digital video output. Sadly this 2nd HMDI connector is nowhere be found online at Lenovo to buy. Not even listed in the part lookup for this model.Where can I get the matching FRU/CRU or even better: buy one?

Hi all! I just bought a ThinkCentre m720q and two ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One 24/Gen3 for dual-display use. Unfortunately, the m720 only has one DisplayPort output and the TiO only has a DP input. Is it somehow possible to daisy-chain both displays together or is this a case of ?should have read better before buying?? Thanks! ;-)

I have several Lenovo ThinkCentre M900 desktops deployed at various locations around the country, and they're all having the same issue. For some reason, when attempting to move data over the network, the NIC card drops it's connection. It seems to happen with large transfers most often. Attempting to move the users data from their old PCs to this new one would cause it, as well as downloading drivers off the print server. The connection simply drops and Windows cannot repair or restore it. There's no error log that I can find on it, the only thing that restores the connection is rebooting the machine. This is currently reproducable on 45 machines I have spread across 4 different states, making those data transfers and printer setups impossible, at the moment. Each computer got a BIOS update before leaving here.  System: Lenovo ThinkCentre M900Model Number: 10FH-000KUSBIOS version: 1.7OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1 Any help or insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

A:ThinkCentre M57 6072-BMU linux driver for the network card needed....

canucks, Here is the link to the generic linux driver, since you didn't specify the kind of linux distribution you were using. You can get it here: http://www.intel.com/support/network/sb/cs-006120.htm I don't recommend installing it though, because you will have to recompile your kernel with it. Unless you're a linux guru and know what you're doing of course.I'm quite surprised by the fact that it didn't get automatically installed, since it's an Intel PRO/1000 network card (according to the specs), which is a well known and supported card. I've said it before and I'll say it again: if the only reason you're installing linux is "for fun" then why not install it in an emulation software? (Virtual PC is a free, excellent solution)It will make your life a whole lot easier and allow you to keep your existing productivity level undisturbed Elhay  Message Edited by elhaya on 10-18-2008 03:02 AM

Hello I am setting up a Windows Server 2016 to test a fax application. Upon a fresh install it is not detecting the Ethernet Driver. I tried getting the latest Win 10, Win 8.1, Win 7 drivers off Lenovo for my specific model M720q. I did not find any specific drivers for Windows Server 2016 from Lenovo. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also I did get a connection using a USB -Ethernet adapter and I tried downloading drivers through Windows updates and said no updates found in device manager. Also tried Lenovo system update tool and it downloaded the LAN driver, and said it installed but did not reflect the install in the results or in device manager.

Microsoft's Windows Server team released a preview of the next Windows Server product, Windows Server 2019, yesterday to the public.

Windows Server 2019 Preview is available for any participant of the Windows Insider program but the post on Microsoft's Windows Server website is unfortunately a bit vague when it comes to actual downloads of the preview version of Windows Server.

The very first thing you need to do is register an organization account or a personal account; Registering in this case means that you join the Windows Insider Program with the account so that you may download and use Insider Builds.

Once you have done that head over to the Windows Insider Preview Server download page and select "Windows Server vNext LTSC PReview" under available downloads. You can download localized versions of the Server 2019 Preview ISO and have 24 hours to download the 4.2 Gigabyte ISO image from Microsoft.

Microsoft plans to release the final version of Windows Server 2019 in the second half of the calendar year 2018. The company plans to release System Center 2019 as well which will support Windows Server 2019.Click to expand...

and try to start using the same command  (logman start/stop SQL ) the following error arises:

The same error arises when starting SQL in GUI.
This error does NOT arise if the SQL data collector set (its xml file) is imported manually!

It means no data collector sets can be started after being imported by
logman import command ... why???

Good afternoon, we have a problem with crashing video drivers on Lenovo ThinkCentre computers. Users are actively working on the Internet through the Google Chrome browser and it often happens that during launching or downloading a regular page, the video driver simply fails and an artifact appears in the form of a small square (about an inch per inch). The computer continues to work, but all programs begin to fail, and on the Internet it becomes impossible to work at all, not a single page opens, Google Chrome is constantly crashing. This situation is found on the models m710q and m720q, installed the newest drivers (reinstalled the first thing, when such an error occurred). Please help me figure it out! Thank you!

Is this time line correct?   Everything was working, then the video driver started crashing, updated to new video driver, crashes continue?   What errors does Event Viewer report?
Was there an update to the Windows release around this time, ie. 1803 to 1809?  Was a test done with a different browser like Firefox?

I'm having an issue customizing the Start Page registry key in Windows Server 2019 (this method works fine in 2016) I would load C:\Users\Default\NTUSER.DAT and add \Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Start Page REG_SZ "Company specific URL"
and when a new user logs in they'd get the "Company specific URL" but with Windows Server 2019 this isn't working.
I have also tried adding "First Home Page" and "Default_Page_URL" and it doesn't make a difference, it seems some sort of mini setup is configuring the registry keys and ignoring or overwriting what I entered into NTUSER.DAT from the
Default user profile.
I've also got IE Enhanced Security Configuration disabled for Admins and Users along with the following other registry keys set that all are working fine.
[HKEY_USERS\DefaultUser\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Friendly http errors"="no"

[HKEY_USERS\DefaultUser\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]

[HKEY_USERS\DefaultUser\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]

Wondering if anyone has found a workaround or missing key that also needs to be set, thanks.

It is getting very irritating, and interfering with my work.  - A mysterious floating white circle appeared on my desktop background. I cannot click on or interact with it, and changing the desktop background does not remove the circle. Then, a second circle appeared. Now, there is also a floating white rectangle. The rectangle poses the biggest issue, because it remains on TOP of whatever other windows I have open, constantly obstructing part of my screen unless I reboot the computer. The circles remain on the desktop background. I've already asked the
question regarding auto-starting the data collector sets and have posted MS's answer - now it seems the issue can be much broader: I failed to make my user defined data collector sets start according to their schedules, for example:
I created a test data collector set (with several CPU counters), saved it as a template and tested it on Windows Server 2008R2 and Windows Server 2019:

I've tested various user defined data collector sets on all my Windows Server 2019 computers - physical and virtual, domain and non-domain joined, the result is always the same - the data collector sets just don't start and the following event(s) get registered
in the Diagnosis-PLA log:

Here's the codes' description -

No issues arise when starting the data collector sets manually.
Can anyone tell me if it works on your computers with Windows Server 2019?

Just got an XPS 15 and I wanted to immediately image it.  Problem is I can't figure out which driver I need to install to get it on my wireless network.  I thought it had the Killer NIC WiFi, so I installed that driver on the USB key that Windows Server created for bare-metal restores.  So that driver loaded, it could see the NIC, but it couldn't get on my network.
On the other hand, I could just use a USB to Ethernet adapter, but I may have the same situation where I need to load a driver for USB.Thoughts?  What other driver should I be loading?

For other controls, such as DEP, CFG,  I still get the error, but the command applies the new setting properly anyway. So far SEHOP is the only setting that is unchangeable, but there may be others as we haven't tested extensively yet. It fails for both
System and App level settings.

I have since tried many other drivers but with no luck, does anyone know where I can find the correct drivers or if installing a particular driver manually will solve this issue?

Windows 10 Home Version 1803 up to date, Lenovo M57 PC, Intel Duo Core E6750 2.66 GHz, 3 Gb RAM, 32 bit
In the philosophy of "What did you change" from old days in programming, since installing the [GT 710 graphics] card I have had several restarts with the message "DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION." Research says this is related to driver issues, particularly for SSD. Several years ago I replaced the hard disk in my M57 with SSD. Have never had any problems with it. The fix for this describes looking at the SSD drivers for IDE ATA/ATPI controllers' properties.  Several suggestions say to look at the Standard AHCI controller. There is none on my PC. Other suggestions are that the driver for the SSD is not compatible with Windows 8. I do not recal whether the PC was running 8 or 10 when the SSD was installed. However this watchdog error has never occurred before. Windows 10 update also occurred just before this.  Any clues?

Hi everyone. I am in the process of deploying a new sccm environment with W10, we have a bunch of different Lenovo clients but this model is the only one that is causing me issues. The problem is the Lenovo Application Interface driver wich refuses to work, the key here is that we are using Microsoft Baseline Security, wich denies drivers that are not WHQL signed to be used. I have tried both the and driver for the Application Interface, but both returns Code 39 and does not work. If i deactivate MS Baseline Security both drivers work, but i don't have that option on the environment. I have tried importing them in SCCM and run the extracted exe as a package, with no result. In short, does a WHQL driver exist for this interface?
