Hi , I have Lenovo Z 580 Ideapad.3 months back its fan stopped working. So i visited an authorized service centre located at Gurugram. http://business.google.com/website/devmohini/Since my laptop is out of warranty , they told me that the fan need to be replaced and charges will be applied. They said that they will order the part and let me know when my laptop will be ready . Few days back, they called me and asked me to pickup my laptop.I went there and checked my laptop , its fan was working . I paid the full amount. They gave me the receipt But they didn't provide me the Fan's warranty card or anywhere the warranty was mentioned in the receipt. They didn't even told me when the warranty of the Fan they replaced , was gonna expire.But now after 2 & half months , the Fan stopped working again . I went again and showed them my laptop. Now they are saying that the Fan panel need to be changed again & since the Fan's warranty is expired , I have to pay the full charges again. I am so angry and irritated at them right now . I have serious doubt that they lied to me and cheated on me. They just resolved some minor issue but charged me the full amount of Fan in the first place . & now they are doing the same thing again. They are such conman. I am so disappointed with Lenovo service. I bought my T470 a month ago with "3 Years Onsite Next Business Day" warranty. And recenty I noticed there's some problem with my screen, so I called Lenovo. And I've already got the new screen they sent to me.Here is the problem: THE TECHNICIAN NEVER CAME!!! And they keep on saying they will come to fix my laptop "tomorrow", and I can't even remember how many "tomorrow"s have passed!!! What's worse, they would never call to tell you they are not coming on that day, so you need to call again and ask, and they will say they will come "tomorrow", and then they are not coming, and you need to call again. Hi i've a warranty for my Lenovo that states I get onsite, 5 x 9, NBD service. I have placed a case over a week ago and there is still no visit from anyone. Any correspondance has to come from me. I've been on 3 or 4 chats asking for some sort of communication back as to what is taking so long and been promised call backs and received none. I've filed seperate complaints with BBB and Consumer Affairs as I'm sick of this service. It's really been horrible. First I was told there was no NBD service but got talking to Sales who confirmed I have 9x5, onsite, NBD service. What possibly else can I do to get my laptop which is down for over a week fixed as per my warranty that I paid a premium for?

I have purshased a lenovo y50 laptop on 19th March during my trip to USA then I returned Egypt back and discovered that the laptop is defected with dead area in the trackpad and a horrible display with very ugly yellow color.
 
I contacted Lenovo Egypt and they told me to go to service provider to get these issues fixed. The service provider said they will replace the trackpad but they see that the screen is normal and they have no solution for it.
 
Before I bougth it, I made sure that all waranty services can be done from Egypt but Lenovo Egypt refused to replace the laptop and the service provider refuses to fix the screen. It is really disappointing!!

Hi everyone, I have a lenovo y50 70 and performance is really satisfactorily. But one day it crashed with an BSOD and I have freezing and system crash issues ever since. I got an warrenty claim 6th day of this month. They called me 10 days latter and when I checked the laptop the problem still exist I went to them again and they kept it for 10 more days and called me again. That problem still exists and I showed them before receiving the laptop but the refused to do anything excusing it is an software issue. I know exactly what is the issue here. The graphics card gtx 860m is created the issue here. Sometime I when install driver, keep the task manager open, run a video player, run game and program like photoshop using graphics card  it freeze or crash regardless of driver and Windows version. I am using the laptop for almost 3 year, changing windows, drivers, fixing small software errors all by myself. If it is a software issue I would not be knocking service center twice in a month. Now the question is, I explain them the issue as well as show them the problem is, how come they make excuse and not fix fix the issue?

Many had similar issues if you check forum. So, my laptop did not start someday. I sent it for repair and I was told to pay 500? because some liquid was dropped. I am 100% sure that no liquid was dropped. I treated my laptop like gold. It cost me 2000?...I didn't even let a dust get near it. It almost feels like they sets this up for me to pay that money.The problem with my laptop is a problem that many lenovo 910 user had. I called customer service and they said that they do not deal with this issue and gave me another number. I called that new number. . Same, they told me to call that other number again. So, the customer service is very bad. I didn't get a single answer.  I was one of lenovo's biggest fan. I was recommending lenovo to everyone. For lenovo campaigny to do this... It's really dissapointing.

Y50-70 laptop, SN ########, it is still on the warranty then checking the lenovo.com website.
The problem with the screen, pink shades and overlay of images. 
 
But my question is about the warranty service.
I've brought the laptop to the nearest authorised warranty service center in Odessa, Ukraine. Firstly, they accepted a warranty issue and took the laptop. But the next day they called and asked to bring them papers (receipt or warranty card). Unfortunately, as I had bought it in different country and I moved few times since the day of purcase, I can't find these papers. So, the service center returned the laptop and refused to carry a warranty repair, despite the fact it still has an international warranty (it is going to expire in 5 days, btw).
 
What can I do? Is it a normal practice everywhere, or only in Ukraine? Honestly, I become really dissappointed with Lenovo products and service...

Contact the place where you bought it if they can provide the purchase confirmation.How was it registered for warranty then without a receipt? If no receipt it defaults to the build date of the notebook.You will have to talk to a customer service manager or service manager. But if they insist on the receipt that you never provided in the first place then it becomes your problem I'd say. The build date is used and if that has passed you likely out of luck.Lenovo is very tough and will take any opportunity to void the warranty.

Does anyone know how to restore a file that has changed but wasn't suppose to be?

Here's the deal someone had an Excel file open, over wrote the file with other data, saved it and the original information is gone, is there anyway to get it back to it's original stats?!!? PLEASE HELP! I'm tring to get it back to the information it had in it yesterday.

Hello, I bought lenovo yoga 500 14 ISK on January 2016. After 1,5 years later i aware that there is some problem on the left bottom side (near the hinge) than one week later i saw that screen and back lid seperated from left bottom side and when i look at in i saw that the screw hole is broken from inside and the screw is not tightening the back lid anymore. And my pc never dropped. It is under 2 year warranty and after i sent my pc to Turkey technical service, they said that your actions are completed and when i see the pc right side is broken. First of all i do not want to take back but they said that you can not take pc back so they force me to take my pc. day  by day crack is going bigger and bigger. When i called technical service they said that me (laughing) i forced the pc lid which is 360 degree. and also they said to me opening the lid from only one side causes this problem.  It is not written anywheere taht "dont open lid from left or right side" . I used 7 -8 years lenovo and also2 years work pc laptop Lenovo in very hard conditions and there is no even 1 problem. But my latest pc is falling apart day by day . Not a laptop anymore because opening lid will make my pc not work soon so lid is always open. I need Lenovo center help because people in Turkey unfortunately doesnt help for money. Bought this brand new in late February, started bluescreening in April which causes me to lose loads of work for university and various clients (I work in design.) Was deemed a hardware problem and Lenovo collected the laptop and "repaired" it before sending it back to me at the end of July. I've been using it sparingly since because I'm off uni and haven't needed it that much. But it's been really slow since I got it back. Then today it blue-screened on me again, exact same error code as last time and I can't find any email address for complaints or support. Totally at a loss about what to do as I go back to uni this week.

I had a Lenovo Y series. It had some problem and the laptop was given for repair. It has been 5 months and you guys have not yet fixed the same. The laptop was under warranty but the service centre told that it was physical damange and cannot be reapried under warranty but the same can be fixed if I am ready to bear the charges. Even after that the laptopn is not fixed. I have already lost 5 months of warranty because of you guys. Why do you people boast of your services if you cant provide any.  Should have never gone with Lenovo.Have mailed and escalated to may people at Len India and even they dont care to reply. Have been chasing them for the lst 3months.Guys either you need to do something or please dont fool people.Can youplease give se some contacts of higher mgmt at Len india so that i can directly talk to them.

Sorry to hear that you are having such difficulties.  It seems quite odd that Lenovo service would take 5 months to conclude that there is physical damage to the unit.   You are saying that you sent the system in 5 months ago and are just now being advised of status?

I purchased lenovo y500 (with nvidia 750m gpu) in May from US and had it delivered to my cousin's address in US who then brought it down to UK for me. Now I feel like I have made a terrible mistake buying lenovo product. The touchpad is jumping all around when I click, its is almost useless. Temperatrure goes up to 98/99 celsius while gaming, idle stays over 50. So I decided to send it to UK repair centre (supposedly Median repair centre), the collection process went smoth and my laptop was collected on 3rd of June, I was was told that the repair process should be done with in 10 working days but no Sir !!  it took over a month, ok so long story short got my laptop back 8th July and now its worse then before. Temperature still stays high at around 98 celsius mark, they didnt even check the touch pad and now its even worse. Also to make my life more miserable they broke the front face plate of DVD drive. I phoned them up the next day and I was told that their supervisor would call me soon. The next day I got a phone call from their supervisor explaining the reason why it took longer than expected because its a US version (the only difference between US and UK version is GPU and keyboard layout). All they needed was to replace the heatsink and the touchpad but NO instead they only replaced the fan which wasnt need at all. My laptop's screen is Lenovo Y50-70 15.6 FHD IPS Samsung LTN156HL07.  It is broken in May 2016 and my laptop is under ADP. I submitted my laptop in Hi-tech informatics service centre in Hyderabad on May 18. I'm one week they got a screen that is TFT display.  So I complained that it is not the exact screen model of my laptop as TFT generally changes viewing angles but whereas IPS don't. So they returned the first screen they got. For the second time in another two weeks they called me and told that they got a screen in broken condition and they had to return it back and I should wait for another two weeks. But I didn't hear from them for three weeks. So I called them and went angry on them for not repairing my laptop and in one day I got a call from lenovo saying that they have ordered the screen from foreign as it is not available in India and the service centre will receive it by July 15. So I waited till July 15 and then called them to know whether it is repaired or not.  And now they are saying that they don't know even know the arrival time of the screen whether it is dispatched or not and they told that I have to wait for another two weeks.  What the he'll are they doing? They can't even repair my laptop for two months. They can't get the screen? I'm leaving hyderabad in one week to another state where I'm studying. This is the worst ever service I have ever seen. Over the past few months, I have repeatedly tried to unsubscribe from 'Breaking News Alert', an email Newsletter service provided by the 'Washington Post' newspaper, in the USA.

So far, I must have sent at least 200 requests, asking for the email service to be stopped. This has been done via an automatic link in each email which they call their 'Express[Sic] Unsubscribe Service', to washingtonpost.com.

Recently however, I have resorted to replying to their emails, by including terse unsubscribe request messages, directed at the 'Washington Post', and specifically addressed to the Desks of that newspaper's Ombudsman [who is actually a woman], the National [US] Editor, and the Foreign [rest of Mother Earth's Nations] Editor. The 'Breaking News Alert' is also included as part of the email.

So where does that get me? Absolutely nowhere!! Not a peep, nor a whimper......let alone any acknowledgement of my emails. The 'Breaking News Alert' is still being sent on an almost daily basis, and being directed immediately into my Junk Mail Folder. I am now sick and tired of this whole affair, and wish to be rid of this subscription, once and for all.

What I want to know is this......Is there some form of Federal Regulatory Authority in the USA that I can refer this saga to, as a matter of complaint? All I want is for the Washington Post ... Read more

I brought laptop on 10/8/2015 with an issue on the screen as it was blinking like horizontal white lines or the screen goes black and come instantly many times for couple of seconds and increases with time, and when i contact my supporter (http://www.arab-computers.com/) the ones whom i brought the laptop from they took it for a month to replace it cause it was in the -14 days- but they gave me the same laptop again but closed like brand new and i have nothing to prove it and i knew it cause it got the same issue and i discovered it after couple of days so i went back to them and gave them the laptop with the same issue they took more than 3 months to fix it and this time when i used it there were the same issue of the screen and also a new issue that the setup of the windows is not genuine as i bought it with windows license so i took some while to go back again to them and they took it for 1 month but this time they took it before warranty and handed it after but i got it back with they same issue and it is not fixed!!! what should i do?

I am beyond stunned.  I purchased a new ENVY dv7300 Intel Corei7 quad core with a top graphics card.  I received it 3 days ago.  The keyboard is not flush.  It hits the screen when closed.  I contacted HP support through live chat and was sent a link for a service manual and they told me to fix it myself.  I could not believe this so I called HP.  After being transferred 5 times, I finally spoke to a "supervisor" who told me I would have to purchase another laptop and then return the first, defective one and wait for a refund.  They would not send one and just allow me to send the defective one back.  This is within three days of my receiving the laptop.  When I asked where it says in writing that if someone receives a defective product, they have to buy another, then return the defective machine for a refund.  I was told that "it is how HP does business. It is not in writing." When I explained that this is illegal to not inform a buyer of policies (I purchased the laptop at HP.com), that they were changing the terms of the purchasing agreement,  I was told again that it is how they do things.  I am so disgusted by this.  I could have returned the defective laptop and wait for them to build a new one, and send it from China, but I would be without a laptop until they received the defective one back, then made a new one, then wait for 5 to 7 days for it to arrive.  If someone buys a car that has a probl... I sent my under warranty laptop in to be repaired.  The two pieces were coming apart and the cdrw needed repaired.  They had it almost a month.  This man would call me from time to time but I couldn't understand half of what he said.  He called to tell me it coudn't be fixed and that he was giving me a coupon for $250.  They broke the screen and sent it back to me completely destroyed.  Should they not give me a brand new laptop to replace the one they destroyed?  This is absolutely rediculous!  It's beyond belief!  If you destroy someones property shouldn't you be obligated to replace it?  I will never buy an HP product again and I will make sure everyone knows of my experience!

it took 5 months for an agent to tell that I had to ask within the first 30 days to get a new replacement .. so they would only provide refurbished ones
since then and until today, I have sent a laptop back at least 5 times and had more that 6 motherboards and touchpad ... the touchpad problems are the same on all of them
on top of that, my rep says nice things in emails but, basically, called me a liar twice on the phone
at times, she would not respond to emails until I filed a complaint with Better Business ... at least she responds to emails but nothing is better
I sent my last laptop back to Dell as it too was bad ... FedEx confirms that Dell got it back but my reps will not tell me its service tag even though I have explicitly asked for it more than 6 times in the last 7 days
my rep says that I have to file a police report but she refuses to tell me if I sent it back or not
this has been going on for over 10 months and I have literally lost hundreds of hours installing/uninstalling systems, files & software ... on top of that, I have lost hundreds of dollars in Internet subscriptions that I can use
it is a disgrace that a faithful Dell customer has been treated this way ... I have 4 other Dell laptops that I now use and don't have any complaints about them ... but I am already frustrated by Dells reps and failure to give me what I paid for 10+ months ... Read more

A:How do I file a formal complaint?

If you sent it back with a Dell RMA, you have an email that indicates the system details and the tracking number.  That's all you need.
If you sent it out on your own, without an RMA - contact FedEx.

I am totally disappointed in Lenovo's customer support. My lenovo 710s was bought less than 1 year ago (as of 10/6/2017, when I sent it in for repairs) and had 2 years warranty (1+1 year of extended warranty). I sent my laptop for repair due to a white spot issue on the monitor, affecting viewing of webpages and videos. However, the laptop was returned after 3 weeks without any fixes/repairs, as Lenovo claimed that it was a cosmetic issue. I wrote a message on their customer care website on 3/7/2017. However, they ignored me and there was no reply to date.  I thought Lenovo is a reliable and popular brand. However, it turned out to be a horrible decision, much to my dismay!

My warranty was up for my laptop in October of 2015 and I did not want to really complain especially now since it is months after the fact. Over the first year that I owned my laptop I learned that the trackpad was defective. No problem since I just had to send it in. I did and when I got it back I learned that nothing was done with it and so I had to send it back a second time. I got it back and just after my warranty expired the trackpad no longer worked and I have had to use an external computer mouse ever since. It has just been frustrating that I cannot use my touchpad and that my computer has never been truly fixed. I take very good care of my laptop and I know for a fact that the touchpad is still defective. Does anybody know of anywhere I could complain directly to the company or if I should not complain if it is too late after the warranty.

So a few months ago i bought a used lenovo P50. 32 gigs of ram, 6820hq, Quadro M2000M. I'm using it as a daily workstation. I payed quiet a bit for it but it's a good machine and i'm generally happy with it.  Of course, one of the reasons i payed well for it was that it had almost 2 years of top notch international warranty remaining. It came from a German company, has been bought for company use in a big pack of maybe 50 or more pieces.  When i was buying it i checked the international warranty using the machines serial number. The lenovo website said i have more then 500days of warranty remaining. So i bought the machine and have been using it since then. Recently i tought that i was having problems with a malufunctioning USB port. Turned out it was my USB drive, not the port. But since i was thinking about RMAing it, not knowing that the port is actually fine. I went checking how much warranty i have got left. (This was about 3 months after i bought the machine).  So i come to the lenovo warranty check, type my serial number in and a nice suprise is waiting for me there.  Warranty status: expired, 0 days left. Together with the text:  This machine was sold by the manufacturer without warranty. Hi, does anyone have an HP US phone number where I can contact HP customer satisfaction department. I would like to file a complaint against tech support for continuing to lie to me for 2 weeks now? I already have the 800-474-6836 number and that is where I have the problem. I called to get help with my non-working printer and it was diagnosed that it needs a new printhead 2 weeks ago and since they are shipping the printhead overnight. I spoke to 5 supervisors since so far and every day I am promissed that the printhead is being shipped that day. So far there is no change on the status on HP website and there is no tracking number. Thanks AL

Hi guys.

Ok, stupidly I was copying my outlook PST file from my laptop to my desktop PC. The PST file on the laptop was to most up to date version. But I think I was still half asleep and I copied the files the wrong way round. I realised almost immediately and cancelled the copying but I have now lost my PST file on the laptop.

I have no run outlook yet so no PST file has been created on the laptop.

Is there ANYWAY i can recover the partially over written file?
Does it get renamed as a temp file anywhere?

I purchased a new xps13 from dell over two weeks ago.  Currently the laptop is working fine, however, I've tried tried to register the laptop under 'my products' multiple times since receiving the laptop.  Whenever I try to enter the service tag, it keeps giving me an error "Products not found. There’s no match for the Service Tags that were entered."  At first I thought maybe it was because the laptop was new, but it has been 2 weeks now and I'm still getting the same message.
Not only that, but I've been trying to contact dell through email for 2 weeks now and I always get the same "you will get a response in 24hour" reply but nobody ever replies.  I feel like the biggest moron right now because I paid for 3 years of 'premium support' and you won't even answer a freaking email.  I'm pretty close to just returning this laptop and buying a piece of *** macbook because at least apple responds to support requests.

Well yeah, the topic pretty much says it.

I accidently over-wrote a text file on another. And obviously, the original text file vanished.

Is there anyway to recover the original text file? It was quite important. I tried system restore (on different restore points) and it always says something about an incomplete restoration.

Any help would be appreciated.

I looked up google and there is hardly any chance to recover an overwritten file. But I assumed there would be some way out as it's only a text file. And PERHAPS I'm not even sure I overwrote it.

I am trying to download past invoices from sprintpcs. com and I get this error message "File could not be written to cache" what does this mean? Thanks in advance.

A:File could not be written to cache?

"Cache" is the area of memory that "swaps" data from what is in use to what is in storage.If it is full or near full you will get error notifications. If you have not had this problem in the past, shut down all nonessential programs to free up some space. Rebooting will also help. I use ccleaner from www.ccleaner.com to clean my trash on boot.

I had Purchased  HP Pavilion x360 Convertible m1-u001dx 12-07-16, Problem was I was using and the laptop died. No power Light, Would not start completely dead. Checked power supply and that was okay. Being this unit was new I brought it back to Best Buy Geek Squad. They tested in store and said they would need to send it out for repair. Repair said it had spill damage and wanted to charge me $525.00 to repair. I declined because unit only cost about $430.00  After getting with HP Support (SUMIT) . this didn't help. I resorted to temp repairing myself. Searched on line and found info on No Power No Start. The cure for this problem was to disconnect battery and hold in the start button for 30 seconds (static electric charge caused power to be out of phase) Once I did this it started up with no problem. My Geek Squad (Bridgewater, NJ) Also when I opened this unit I couldn't find any damaging evidence of a spill. I feel like they were trying to rip me off for $525.00. Will I receive any reimbursement from HP or Best Buy for this warranty issue?  Is this and on going problem with this HP. If this isn't a warranty issue what is it?
