ThinkPad X260 upgrade Full HD display with more nit (300 nit -> 400 nit)

Q: ThinkPad X260 upgrade Full HD display with more nit (300 nit -> 400 nit)

Hi all, Would it be posible to install the Full HD 400 nit x250 display on a X260 (with almost the same specs, but 300 nit brightness)? The screen brigtness on a X260 is just to low for me. Looks like 50% brightness. Regards, Marco.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm looking to upgade the display of my T440s to Full HD (1920x1080). Currently it has a HD+ screen installed (1600x900), AUO B140RTN03.0 is the model number. I've come across two options after searching over the Internet. Below are the options I'm considering for now:1. AUO display B140HAN01.2 (FRU: 04X0436)2. AUO display B140HAN01.3 (FRU: 00HT622) The AUO B140HAN01.2 (FRU: 04X0436) screen appears to be the one that is certified by Lenovo for T440s based on the FRU list. The AUO B140HAN01.3 (FRU: 00HT622) screen seems to be a newer version and it appears to be certified for T450s based on the FRU list document. I have read in several forums on the Internet that the AUO B140HAN01.3 screen works for T440s as well. I was wondering if someone had a chance installing B140HAN01.3 (FRU: 00HT622) panel on T440s and if it was successful. Also, did the brightness up and down work in Windows after the install? All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi! I have a worklaptop (x260) and am trying to connect it with a LG Ultrafine 5k Display. The display only has USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 out and when I'm connecting the laptop (using a USB-C to Mini Displayport/Thunderbolt 2 cord) it does nothing and won't detect it. The setup works for another laptop so I know the cord is fine...  Does anyone know if I can just download some drivers for Thunderbolt 3 (Found these: LINK) or do I need a dock? Reason I'm not trying is that I need my corporate IT to download and install so wanted to make sure it's the right solution.  Thank you for any replies! And apologies if this topic has already been delt with -- I searched but without any luck.

Hello, all. I am trying to upgrade my Thinkpad X260 to a 16GB stick of ram. The exact item I bought is called "Crucial 16GB Single DDR4 2133 MT/s (PC4-17000) DR x8 SODIMM 260-Pin Memory - CT16G4SFD8213" on Amazon.com . After installing the memory module (correctly, using the video Lenovo provides on youtube), the laptop won't boot. I can't even get into the bios, although the green bower button lights up. I'm very confused as I did a lot of research to make sure this ram is supported by my thinkpad: The Thinkpad platform specifications list the memory as "2133MHz DDR4" with a 16GB maxThe voltage on my ram is 1.2V, the same voltage that the thinkpad x260 supportsIt's also "260-pin memory", the same as the original ram. What could possibly be going on? Why won't my laptop boot with the RAM upgrade?

Hello everybody, Thank you for the great forum and all the community helping in solving our issues! As mentioned in the subject I have some concerns about a display upgrade.Recently I bought absolutely fantastic small notebook - Thinkpad X260.Unfortunatelly I was not able to choose the proper configuration and it appeared to be with the 1366x768 TN display, which grinds my gears. I already read the following article:https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/Lenovo-x260-display-upgrade-HD-to-FHD/td-p/35... There are few concerns:Per: https://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/x260_frubom_20160127.pdf I'm about to buy - Original Lenovo LCD LED 12,5" Display FHD IPS 1920*1080 - X260 00HN883.In the article appeared that @kocism used to have some troubles to fit the FHD display somehow. Questions:Is the  FHD front display cover as same as the one used with the TN panel? What about the frame around the display? In general should I buy something else to have this upgrade done in the smoothest way or what I have is enough?  Thank you very much in advance. Best Regards,Georgi

A:Lenovo x260 display upgrade - concerns

The parts list provides no clue.  It talks about a "small" panel, which takes a different bezel and cable and provides no insight into what they are talking about.  You are going to have a hard time finding someone to provide a definitive answer.

Hello! I have just purchased a second-hand ThinkPad T440 with the i5 4300U, Intel iGPU 4000, 8gb RAM, 120gb SSD, & the non-touch TN LCD. This display is far from comfortable. No amount of calibration makes up for the - extremely - poor viewing angles. I know I can easily replace the display with a FHD IPS replacement, but I though a touch screen may be fun.  After briefly looking on Amazon, found this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/FTDLCD-Digitizer-Display-Assembly-ThinkPad/dp/B07FSBZ215 A seemingly good deal I'm sure you'll agree to some degree. I was wondering if this would work in my T440 which did NOT come with a touch display originally. The reason for me believing it will is, the product comes with a whole assembly with the bezel, I doubt Lenovo would bother manufacturing some T440 devices with the required digitiser connectors and some without (it's cheaper to mass produce one motherboard), and it is brand new and without any wear and tear.  If this product is not a good idea, and I was to get hold of a genuine Lenovo ThinkPad T440 touch display with assembly, will it work in my non-touch option device? All help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

A:ThinkPad T440 Display Upgrade

Hello! So, basically good idea to update this machine to touch version but you have to replace more than LCD module only.Except LCD you need something more:- LCD cable for touch ver- Camera cable for touch ver- LCD cover for touch ver- hinges for touch ver- LCD bezel (plastic stripe at the LCD bottom side)And one good thing here - you don't need to replace MB, it's the same version as for non touch machines IMHO just replace LCD to FHD IPS, this one much better that HD+ TN and you won't replace any part in additional

I was having several issues so I did a full reset of Windows 8.1 (that was a nightmare). When I went to update, it offered me Windows 10. I bit the bullet and did it. The exact same thing happened this time as the first time (which is why I reverted back to 8.1).

On the desktop, if I place icons to either side or top, they're half off the screen. The taskbar is messed up too. I put Classic Shell back in so that I have a start menu more in tune with Windows 7. Now I can only see a sliver of the start button. The clock is half off the screen. If I choose to show icons on the taskbar, they are below the taskbar. Same goes for icons in the quick launch bar.

I didn't have this problem with 8.

Any menu that's taller than the screen I can't see and there's no scroll to see the upper end. If I maximize the brower, the minimize, maximize and close buttons are off the screen.

I'm using the recommended screen resolution. 1920x1080. I'm using a 32" 720p TV as my monitor. It's plugged in with an HDMI cable. There are no settings to change the display in the TV.

Screen shot? Yeah right. When I do a screen shot, it shows everything as it should look, not what I'm actually seeing.

Here's the left side of the taskbar.
Here's the right side.
This is what happens to icons on the desktop.

Hello, I recently got an x280 type 20KE, and found out it was a 1366x768p screen. I was wondering if I could replace it with a 1920x1080p screen simply by: popping off the front that cover that surrounds the screen, which I am assuming is held in place with some plastic clips, unscrew some screws, pull off the display panel, disconnect the connector, then do everything in reverse with a 1920x1080p display to replace it. I looked up the compatible parts lists for the laptop and found a 1080p screen with the parts number 00NY682 on the list, so I would think it is just that easy, but I also saw some people on other websites saying you can't upgrade the screen because of the number of pins in the connectors or that it's not that easy. And if it can be done, I plan on doing it while replacing the m.2 SSD, so I'll be disconnecting the laptop's battery before doing any of it.  So my question basically is: Can the 768p screen be replaced by the 1080p screen easily?

A:Thinkpad x260 TS FD meaning

Hello and welcomeI'm not a Lenovo representative, but definitely TS means TopSeller, FD in the short lsptop specification means the type of display - FHD. "Only laptop" might mean accessories (like additional cable) missing. Of course, AC charger should be in the pack.Original laptop specification is below:http://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/ThinkPad_X260?M=20F60093US

Hello! I was inquiring into buying a Lenovo X260, and one of the main reasons I was interested was because it has a SIM card slot. Project Fi is compatable with Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular networks, and I wanted to ask if anyone had any experience using the sim card slot with any of these networks or perhaps even a Project Fi sim.  Hi custormer support, I'm using Thinkpad X260, my laptop will discharge the external battery first then it discharges the internal one. Today I learnt that for T470 laptops and later models, the discharge algorithm becomes smarter, the least worn battery will discharge first to ensure the wear levels are more even. My X260 still discharges the external battery first despite the wear level of external battery is higher than the internal battery's. I'd like to know if the X260 can do the same thing and how to do this? Thanks and regards,afriendP.S.: my bios version is 1.36

Hello, I am trying to disable touchpad on X260. It looks disabled, however one feature keeps enabled. Here is how to reproduce it: 1. Start marking text using TrackPoint and  the left TrackPoint button. Do not release the button.2. While doing this touch the touchpad with two fingers.3. Remove finger from the button.4. Observe the text is still marking with TrackPoint movement. Another way: 1. Click on something which is draggable with the left TrackPoint button. Do not release the button.2. Tap on TouchPad with two fingers.3. Release the button.4. Observe further dragging just with just moving the pointer. It appears that dragging/marking becomes sticky with two-finger tapping though TouchPad is disabled. The desired behaviour is to ignore TouchPad taps (since it's disabled). So, how do I fully disable TouchPad?

Hi all, appologies for the long post. I am using Windows 7 and re-building an image for the Lenovo X260 as a few users have reported an error with Power Point in Office 2010.  When on battery Power Point slide shows won't advance through the slides, it just stops and won't move to next slide on keypress or mouse click, on mains power it works fine, I had a mess around with a users laptop that has the issue and installing Lenovo System Update and installing all the available updates and drivers solved the problem so I re-created the image on another X260 and the problem returned but now, installing Lenovo System update and all software & drivers doesn't fix the issue, this is on a clean install of Windows 7. when the slide show pauses I can press the Windows key and click Power Point and there is a little box that says Resume slide show, clicking this sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, all windows updates are installed, if I use an external keyboard and mouse it works OK, I've tried disabling all power management in BIOS and Windows, the only permanent fix I've found that works everytime is to disable Hardware Acceleration in Office settings but some of the docs users have are massive so don't want to cause any slowdowns or issues (plus it's anoying that I can't find another solution even though it worked on a users laptop) Anyone else seen this issue or have an idea of a fix Cheers
