web page refuses to load

Q: web page refuses to load

For some unknown reason, there is ONE and only one webpage that I normally use that refuses to load now. This only occurs on this notebook. The page loads normally on the PC. I don't know what would cause this so I came here to see if anybody has an idea. This is the system info: (and yes I know this is an old notebook and it has been working just fine up until this nonsense of the webpage not loading. If it helps, the site I'm trying to get to is "myuhc.com". All I get is a blank page when I click my saved link. I've also tried to manually type it into my address bar and get the same results.

Preferred Solution: web page refuses to load

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Oh, I forgot to mention that I tried to do a system restore to about a week ago (the last time I was able to access the website mentioned above) and system restore will not work correctly either. I got an error message "An unspecified error occurred during system restore (0x8000ffff)"

I dont know if this is posted in the right area but I'm so desperate to get my laptop working its unreal.
First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly.
After that my laptop has not been working. The machine turns on and gives me two options. Start windows normally or do a repair. Upon starting windows normally, it loads so far before sending me back to the two options of start windows normally or repair. On the second time I clicked repair. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects. someone please help

A:windows 7 refuses to load and system repair wont load

Do a hardware/software reset with your BIOS:Shut down and turn off the computer.
Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
"Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect
cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices." (Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English))
Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all
power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS
and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.
(If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall. Do not reconnect any unnecessary peripherals; monitor, keyboard,
and mouse should suffice and be the only peripherals reconnected.
Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware

After doing those steps, clear your CMOS by entering the BIOS (see your system manual for steps to enter the BIOS), going to the EXIT screen, and loading setup/optimized defaults.

Hello, for starters :

OS:Xp Pro Sp2
HDD:260gb SATA Maxtpr HDD
HDD:120 IDE Maxtor HDD
Video:Nvidia 7800GT SLI (x2)

Ok, now for the last 10(minus the past 2) months when I booted the comp with 2 Corsair XMS3200 1024meg memory I would have to hit escape when the windows logo came up or else it would go to a black screen and make my SATA hdd make noise like it was reading something, but it would never leave the black screen.

One day I booted up and my BIOS would give me the error code for bad memory, so I swapped the memory to another comp, one stick came up bad, I removed it and the other stick (matched set) was fine, and I didn't even need to press escape anymore, so the comp was basically fine, and I figured the whole pressing escape problem was fixed. 2 Months ago I went away on vacation, I came back and the stick I have in there was acting up, and it went to the black screen again like that stick went bad.

So I threw both sticks into a friend's comp and they worked fine, I also tried his memory in my comp, in my comp the sticks acted like they were bad, so I now know I do not have a memory problem.

Any tips/solutions?

Any questions?

A:XP Refuses to load

Bios may be having a issue. Might try and take a look in there and double
check settings. Check your version of bios and see if there were any
updates "flash's" for your type of problem.
What type of power supply are you running?

You may try clearing cmos and start over with the settings. Fresh start
so to speak..

I currently have a a Toshiba satellite laptop on windows 8, last night the battery went and when I restarted I was given a blue screen that said it needed to fix errors. The computer restarted and said it was automatically fixing errors. Once that had finished the second screen is black with a white mouse that moves. Nothing else no log in screen nothing.
I restarted computer pressing F12 and tried to refresh computer and was told the drive where windows is located is locked. I went in search of the answer on Google and tried the cmd.exe.

I typed in bootsect.exe /nt60 all/force

All files successfully updated NTFS. Except for the C drive . It displayed "could not open Root directory : the parameter incorrect

I can't even get it to boot up in safe mode.

I don't have a clue how to fix it. The laptop is my nephews I don't have a windows 8 disc or another computer. All my files and my nephews are on the laptop. Is there anyway I can fix it so the laptop loads as normal and all our files are still there :(

For the past 3-4 days, I have had a nightmare with my OS. It seems to never want to load explorer.exe. I have replaced it, repaired my OS 3-4 times, cannot use sfc scan, scanned my computer with so many scanners and programs.

The problem is that explorer.exe refuses to start up. Because I cannot run explorer.exe, this means I cannot access My Computer, etc. I run everything through Task Manager. I can see the start menu flash when I tell the computer to run explorer.exe. It is quickly terminated. I see it in Task Managers Process menu also. Explorer.exe runs when the computer starts up too. I believe it is a registry error or trojan. Could someone please end this nightmare?

Hey guys,

In an attempt to figure out what's up with my memory issues, I downloaded Memtest86+

First I burned it to a CD, and rebooted with it. It sat in DOS with the Loading......... text. I left it for hours, but it would never go past that. Even after several different burn attempts.

Then I installed it to a USB drive, but I couldn't get the BIOS to boot to it. Any idea how it get a Gigabyte mobo to pick the USB drive first? I can't figure it out.

A:Memtest refuses to load!

It sound like either a bad image (a corrupted download file), or a bad burn. Try downloading the program again and burn another CD. If you did not use the native Windows 7 ISO burner then try that one.

To use a USB stick you can download va different file from Memtest, one for USB that has the boot loader you need included.

Memtest should start up in seconds. No need to wait more than that.

In 2003, I bought a Toshiba Satellite 2455-S305 that came loaded with Windows XP and has SP2 added. This evening when I booted it up, the usual log in screen came up and accepted my password. It loads as far as the Toshiba default wallpaper and then does nothing. The mouse pointer is visible and can be moved with the touchpad. I can illuminate the CAPS Lock, but there is no other indication that the keyboard is responding. It does not respond to the Cntrl/Alt/Delete command. I'm expecting to see the the 'Windows is Starting up' Window, but it just freezes at the default wallpaper. I have no idea if the system has crashed. In the early stages, the HD light flashes as though it's being accessed, but when it gets to a point, the HD light stops flashing and you can tell that the only thing spinning is the underbody fan.

I have not tried "Safe Mode," and am uncertain how to get there from this stagnated point. Also, I do not know how to get to the "Last Known Good." I tried some research on this forum, but haven't found exactly how to address my problem with confidence.

Just before, I was trying to install PagePlus X2 when it asked me for the disk. I pressed ok, thinking it was a just a temporary error, but it came up again. There was a second disk with the package, so I put that in, but yet again, to no avail. I then looked at the drive in Explorer and realised that it did not mention that there was a disc in, so I double clicked on the icon, and got this:

So I restart, and the same error comes up. I have now tried with numerous CDs and DVDs, but nope, it recognizes none. And I've manually re-installed the drivers, but again, to no avail. I've even tried in Safe Mode, but not even then does it work.

I've tried troubleshooting, but that didn't work either. The Device Manager lists no problems, says it's fine. So what the hell is the issue?

So, my wife and I are laying in bed, and I hear a *Bleep!* (windows pop-up error sound) and the computer restarts itself.

It got back to the user screen, and I just clicked shutdown, because I didn't have time to mess with it.

This morning, I try to boot it, and it reaches the desktop graphic, but the desktop icons never show up, the start bar and lower right icons never show up, and the windows intro music never plays.

So, I shut it down since I had to go to work.

So, my wife calls me at work, and I suggest to try and start it in Safe Mode. I had her run an error checking status on it, and it says it cannot until next boot up. Well, she's already run error check, and it says everything is 10-4.

She's stated that if you try to start it in Safe Mode, there's a huge list on a black DOS-type background with all the windows files on it.

I'll see if I can't get more information.

Do we need to format, or is there anything else we can try?

A:Possible Hack, Computer Refuses To Load

Hmm, well I've fiddled with it a little bit.

I can CtrlAltDel and bring up the processes screen, and I can run MsConfig from the New Process button.

Man, that's weird. All the desktop icons are gone, and the start bar is completely gone. Just a mouse cursor, and the background.

Hiya and welcome

I've moved you to Web and Email forum for more response

Is this still a problem? If so, go to http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Hi there.
I recently had a trojan dnschanger on my laptop. I tried using malwarebytes program to remove it several times and then gave up and sent it in to get repaired at a shop in town. They told me there was no infection and sent it back to me. I reran the test and sure enough it was gone. but...

What had originally made me try using malwarebytes to scan ( avg, spybot s&d, and adaware did not find anything) was that my browser was acting strange. When I do a Google search and click on one of the results, it will load a blank page saying 'done' in the bottom corner, then after 5 seconds or so it will then load the page i wanted.

For instance, I click on "hxxp://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-115088-using-web-browser-page-loads-but-screen-blank" search result and it puts this:

into the top bar and sits on the blank,'done' page for 5 or 10 secs then goes to the "hxxp://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-115088-using-web-browser-page-loads-but-screen-blank" page after.

Bought my laptop one month ago and yesterday it black screened and is just a paperweight now. Lonovos only solution to selling defective computers is to repair them. What I couldn't get them to understand is that I don't want a broken and repaired laptop, that's not what I paid for. I paid for a no defective computer. You cant give me a broken machine that you band-aided for the same price as a new machine. I just want a replacement or my money back. I feel as if I'm getting screwed over big time here, and that's not how a company should do business. Don't sell me a lemon and then offer to fix it. I didn't want a lemon in the first place. I want what I paid for, a fully functional non defective machine. Lenovo refuses and is keeping the money. Lesson learned.

I am currently having trouble with my Windows Vista home Premium 32-bit computer. I am using a NETGEAR Wireless USB adapter for my internet and a few thing's have seemed to go wrong.

First of all, the Network logo that normaly appears in the task bar has gone missing. When you right click>Properties and then try to tick Network, the grey tick box has been locked, so you can not select it.

Secondly, When I go to Network and Sharing center it come's up The Page Failed To Load.

Also, sometime's when I log onto Vista it come's up C:\Windows\system32\WINBRAND.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contain's an error. I don't know if this is linked in some how.

I have no internet access on that computer, and that is the only computer I am able to use at my home so it is very annoying that I ahve not been able to find a fix for this some where.

I am alright with computer's but not to good with complicated stuff. But anything for a fix

I hope someone could help me out with this problem,

hi there, i hope someone can help me, i recently purchased a advent 4211 net book for work , as i am a plumber i need to get onto a certain web site called - www.partscenter.co.uk no problems on my desk top comes up straight away, but not on my 4211 the green status bar fills up to the end and then just stays there 4ever !!! i have set my security to (low) enabled firewall and deleted all my cookies, i am using a 3g pay as u go dongle, someone mentioned i should enable cookies but i cant find this, can anyone help as this is driving me mad.
ps all other web sites load up straight away. many thanks

A:cannot get a certain web page to load !!!

If cookies being disabled is the problem, you should be getting a blank page with some very small writing stating this from that website: "Welcome to the Partscenter Web site.
We have detected that cookies are disabled on your browser.
Please enable them and reload the page, or the site will not function correctly".

Anyway, to enable cookies, this is how:

From internet explorer: Tools > Internet Options. Within the Internet Options window: Privacy tab > Select a setting for the internet zone > set privacy level to Medium. Failing that, for test reasons, lower the slider right to the bottom to 'accept all cookies'.

Whether it works or not, please post results on here.

I've been working with the hard drive forum after my older Gateway computer crashed, and they've helped me install the drive, re-load the software, add SpyBot, etc. but now I have a problem with IE 6.0, where I can't get www.excite.com to open so I can check my email. I've been able to get other sites to come up, however, when I type in the address and hit go nothing happens (other than the text highlights in blue). I checked under Privacy and cookie handling and excite.com was listed. I checked allow (didn't help), and then deleted it (still didn't help). I tried lowering security to low (didn't work). Is there something else I should do? When I went out to the Microsoft web site, I saw that there is a IE 6.0 sp1 available which I haven't downloaded yet, but I'm not sure that it will help, since I can get other web sites to open. Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated!

A:IE 6.0 won't load web page

Hi Cktrout5,
I am not a network guru, but I would download IE6 sp1 and see what happens. This should not have any ill effects on the OS and it will not only repair your IE6 (if thats the problem), but will give you better security and performance. I would also download all the Updates at the Microsoft Update site (if you have not done that already). What firewall and anti virus are you using? This may help the network guys out if they knew that.
Let us know how you make out.

I have an (older) internet pen pal with dialup. She runs IE 7 on a Win 7 Home Premium system. (OIK...I'll send her an IE 8 CD)

Meantime, there are certain pages she just can't open - for instance:

Learn where menu and toolbar commands are in Office 2010 and related products - Support - Microsoft Office

She can't tell me any reason - like error messages - only that they won't display. (She's not very tech savvy)

I was assuming that it would not be security setting, being an MS page and all, but I don't know enough about this stuff.

Anyone else know?

A:IE 7 won't load MS.com page

IE8 comes automatically with Windows 7, unless she bought the OS recently in Europe, where this is forbidden by European Union. Nevertheless, I fail to see why she would use IE7...
If she really uses Win7, and really wants to use IE, point her towards BeautyOfTheWeb so she can download Ie9 RC.

I am really needing help. My computer won't load up a Web page. It connect to the Internet through WiFi but won't open up a page. This began after not having used the lap top for around 6 months. I reset previous settings and the Internet bagan working fine again. I then carried out required windows updates and on installing Windows 8.1 I began having problems again. Last night I clicked off the proxy set up and it was working all fine again. Turn my lap top on this morning and again the same issues.
After some Google searching via my mobile and followed a couple of ideas still no success. I am now getting on my Google page when 'there is no Internet connection. I selection to run Windows network diagnostics which couldn't identify the problem. On clicking "explore additional options it offers me help and support and winndows communities. So selected search "help and support" which just continues searching help content and doesn't actually load. The only thing I can this of is selecting recovery again. I'm stood with what to do.

Can load in safari no issues
Page gets found then doesnt load in Firefox
IE7 redirects to google search "dvd.co.uk"

Any network issues that cause this?????

A:Cant load page..

Sorry but i don't think this is a browser issue, it may be a setup issue, i'm running firefox and i can view the page fine...
I'm assuming with you it says "waiting for..." for ages?
What OS are you running and what is your ISP?

Also do you have anything installed that would modify your hosts-file? e.g. Spybot S&D
I don't know what would be causing this but post back and maybe we can sort it...
